2 Samuel 13

Voici ce qui advint ensuite : Absalon, fils de David, avait une sœur extrêmement belle ; elle se nommait Thamar, et Amnon, fils de David, l'aimait.

ACONTECIÓ después de esto, que teniendo Absalom hijo de David una hermana hermosa que se llamaba Thamar, enamoróse de ella Amnón hijo de David.

And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.

Amnon souffrait au point de dépérir, à cause de Thamar sa sœur ; car elle était vierge, et il lui semblait téméraire de rien tenter auprès d'elle.

Y estaba Amnón angustiado hasta enfermar, por Thamar su hermana: porque por ser ella virgen, parecía á Amnón que sería cosa dificultosa hacerle algo.

And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do any thing to her.

Amnon avait un compagnon nommé Jonadab, fils de Samaa, frère de David ; or, Jonadab était un homme très rusé.

Y Amnón tenía un amigo que se llamaba Jonadab, hijo de Simea, hermano de David: y era Jonadab hombre muy astuto.

But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David’s brother: and Jonadab was a very subtil man.

Il dit donc à Amnon : Qu'as-tu, ô fils du roi ! pour que tu t'affaiblisses ainsi de jour en jour ? Ne me le confieras-tu point ? Amnon lui répondit : J'aime Thamar, la sœur de mon frère Absalon.

Y éste le dijo: Hijo del rey, ¿por qué de día en día vas así enflaqueciendo? ¿no me lo descubrirás á mí? Y Amnón le respondió: Yo amo á Thamar la hermana de Absalom mi hermano.

And he said unto him, Why art thou, being the king’s son, lean from day to day? wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.

He said to him, “Why, son of the king, are you so sad from day to day? Won’t you tell me?” Amnon said to him, “I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.”

Jonadab lui dit : Mets-toi au lit, et fais-toi malade ; ton père viendra te voir, et tu lui diras : Que Thamar, ma sœur, vienne ; qu'elle me coupe mes bouchées, qu'elle prépare sous mes yeux des aliments, afin que je la voie faire, et que je mange de sa main.

Y Jonadab le dijo: Acuéstate en tu cama, y finge que estás enfermo; y cuando tu padre viniere á visitarte, dile: Ruégote que venga mi hermana Thamar, para que me conforte con alguna comida, y aderece delante de mí alguna vianda, para que viendo yo, la coma de su mano.

And Jonadab said unto him, Lay thee down on thy bed, and make thyself sick: and when thy father cometh to see thee, say unto him, I pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me meat, and dress the meat in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it at her hand.

Jonadab said to him, “Lay down on your bed and pretend to be sick. When your father comes to see you, tell him, ‘Please let my sister Tamar come and give me bread to eat, and prepare the food in my sight, that I may see it and eat it from her hand.’”

Amnon se mit au lit, et se fit malade ; son père l'alla voir, et Amnon lui dit : Que Thamar, ma sœur, vienne auprès de moi ; qu'elle fasse cuire devant moi deux petits gâteaux, et je mangerai de sa main.

Acostóse pues Amnón, y fingió que estaba enfermo, y vino el rey á visitarle: y dijo Amnón al rey: Yo te ruego que venga mi hermana Thamar, y haga delante de mí dos hojuelas, que coma yo de su mano.

So Amnon lay down, and made himself sick: and when the king was come to see him, Amnon said unto the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her hand.

So Amnon lay down and faked being sick. When the king came to see him, Amnon said to the king, “Please let my sister Tamar come and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat from her hand.”

Et David chercha Thamar dans la maison, et il lui dit Va-t'en chez ton frère, et prépare-lui à manger.

Y David envió á Thamar á su casa, diciendo: Ve ahora á casa de Amnón tu hermano, y hazle de comer.

Then David sent home to Tamar, saying, Go now to thy brother Amnon’s house, and dress him meat.

Et Thamar alla à la maison d'Amnon, son frère, quand il était couché. Elle prit de la pâte, la pétrit, et en fit sous ses yeux de petits gâteaux qu'elle mit cuire.

Y fué Thamar á casa de su hermano Amnón, el cual estaba acostado; y tomó harina, y amasó é hizo hojuelas delante de él, y aderezólas.

So Tamar went to her brother Amnon’s house; and he was laid down. And she took flour, and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and did bake the cakes.

Ensuite, elle prit la poêle, et elle la vida devant lui ; mais il ne voulut pas manger, et il dit : Que l'on fasse sortir tous les hommes qui sont debout ici. Tout le monde s'en alla.

Tomó luego la sartén, y sacólas delante de él: mas él no quiso comer. Y dijo Amnón: Echad fuera de aquí á todos. Y todos se salieron de allí.

And she took a pan, and poured them out before him; but he refused to eat. And Amnon said, Have out all men from me. And they went out every man from him.

Et Amnon dit à Thamar : Apporte-moi auprès de mon lit ma nourriture, et je mangerai de ta main ; Thamar prit donc les gâteaux qu'elle avait préparés, et elle les porta à son frère Amnon vers son lit.

Entonces Amnón dijo á Thamar: Trae la comida á la alcoba, para que yo coma de tu mano. Y tomando Thamar las hojuelas que había aderezado, llevólas á su hermano Amnón á la alcoba.

And Amnon said unto Tamar, Bring the meat into the chamber, that I may eat of thine hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother.

Amnon said to Tamar, “Bring the food into the room, that I may eat from your hand.” Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them into the room to Amnon her brother.

Elle l'engagea à manger, et il la saisit, et il lui dit : Viens, dors avec moi, ma sœur.

And when she had brought them unto him to eat, he took hold of her, and said unto her, Come lie with me, my sister.

Et elle lui dit : Mon frère, ne m'avilis pas ; car pareille chose ne doit pas se faire en Israël ; ne fais pas cette folie.

Ella entonces le respondió: No, hermano mío, no me hagas fuerza; porque no se ha de hacer así en Israel. No hagas tal desacierto.

And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not thou this folly.

She answered him, “No, my brother, do not force me! For no such thing ought to be done in Israel. Don’t you do this folly!

Comment supporterais-je mon opprobre ? Et toi, tu passerais pour un insensé en Israël. Parle plutôt à mon père ; il ne m'éloignera pas de toi.

Porque, ¿dónde iría yo con mi deshonra? Y aun tú serías estimado como uno de los perversos en Israel. Ruégote pues ahora que hables al rey, que no me negará á ti.

And I, whither shall I cause my shame to go? and as for thee, thou shalt be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray thee, speak unto the king; for he will not withhold me from thee.

As for me, where would I carry my shame? And as for you, you will be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, please speak to the king; for he will not withhold me from you.”

Mais Amnon ne voulut rien entendre ; il fut plus fort qu'elle ; il l'humilia, et il dormit avec elle.

Mas él no la quiso oir; antes pudiendo más que ella la forzó, y echóse con ella.

Howbeit he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her.

However, he would not listen to her voice; but being stronger than she, he forced her and lay with her.

Et Amnon la prit soudain en grande haine, et sa haine l'emporta sur l'amour qu'il avait auparavant ; car sa dernière méchanceté fut plus grande que la première. Amnon lui dit donc : Lève-toi, et va-t'en.

Aborrecióla luego Amnón de tan grande aborrecimiento, que el odio con que la aborreció fué mayor que el amor con que la había amado. Y díjole Amnón: Levántate y vete.

Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone.

Then Amnon hated her with exceedingly great hatred; for the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her. Amnon said to her, “Arise, be gone!”

Thamar lui parla au sujet de cette grande méchanceté qu'il faisait en la chassant ; plus grande, dit-elle, que la première ; mais Amnon ne voulut rien entendre.

Y ella le respondió: No es razón; mayor mal es éste de echarme, que el que me has hecho. Mas él no la quiso oir:

And she said unto him, There is no cause: this evil in sending me away is greater than the other that thou didst unto me. But he would not hearken unto her.

She said to him, “Not so, because this great wrong in sending me away is worse than the other that you did to me!” But he would not listen to her.

Et il appela le serviteur qui se tenait à l'entrée de l'appartement, et il lui dit : Chasse-moi d'ici cette femme, et ferme la porte sur elle.

Antes llamando su criado que le servía dijo: Echame ésta allá fuera, y tras ella cierra la puerta.

Then he called his servant that ministered unto him, and said, Put now this woman out from me, and bolt the door after her.

Elle avait un vêtement à longues manches comme en portaient les filles du roi qui étaient vierges. Et le serviteur la mit dehors, puis il ferma la porte sur elle.

Y tenía ella sobre sí una ropa de colores, traje que las hijas vírgenes de los reyes vestían. Echóla pues fuera su criado, y cerró la puerta tras ella.

And she had a garment of divers colours upon her: for with such robes were the king’s daughters that were virgins apparelled. Then his servant brought her out, and bolted the door after her.

Et Thamar prit de la cendre, s'en couvrit la chevelure, déchira son vêtement à longues manches, croisa les mains sur sa tête, et s'en alla, jetant les hauts cris.

Entonces Thamar tomó ceniza, y esparcióla sobre su cabeza, y rasgó la ropa de colores de que estaba vestida, y puestas sus manos sobre su cabeza, fuése gritando.

And Tamar put ashes on her head, and rent her garment of divers colours that was on her, and laid her hand on her head, and went on crying.

Absalon, son frère, lui dit : Est-ce qu'Amnon, ton frère, a été avec toi ? Alors, ma sœur, sois muette, car c'est ton frère. Ne prends pas à cœur d'ébruiter cette affaire. Ainsi Thamar demeura, comme une veuve, en la maison de son frère Absalon.

Y díjole su hermano Absalom: ¿Ha estado contigo tu hermano Amnón? Pues calla ahora, hermana mía: tu hermano es; no pongas tu corazón en este negocio. Y quedóse Thamar desconsolada en casa de Absalom su hermano.

And Absalom her brother said unto her, Hath Amnon thy brother been with thee? but hold now thy peace, my sister: he is thy brother; regard not this thing. So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom’s house.

Absalom her brother said to her, “Has Amnon your brother been with you? But now hold your peace, my sister. He is your brother. Don’t take this thing to heart.” So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom’s house.

Le roi David apprit tout, et il en fut violemment courroucé, mais il ne chagrina point Amnon ; car il l'aimait, parce que c'était son premier-né.

Quant à Absalon, il ne dit mot à son frère, ni en bien ni en mal ; mais il le prit en haine pour avoir avili Thamar, sa sœur.

And Absalom spake unto his brother Amnon neither good nor bad: for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar.

Et ceci advint : au bout de deux années, on faisait la tonte pour Absalon en Belasor, sur le territoire d'Ephraïm, et Absalon invita tous les fils du roi.

Y aconteció pasados dos años, que Absalom tenía esquiladores en Bala-hasor, que está junto á Ephraim; y convidó Absalom á todos los hijos del rey.

And it came to pass after two full years, that Absalom had sheepshearers in Baal-hazor, which is beside Ephraim: and Absalom invited all the king’s sons.

Absalon, d'abord, alla trouver le roi, et lui dit : Voilà que l'on fait la tonte pour ton serviteur, que le roi et tous ses fils viennent chez ton serviteur.

Y vino Absalom al rey, y díjole: He aquí, tu siervo tiene ahora esquiladores: yo ruego que venga el rey y sus siervos con tu siervo.

And Absalom came to the king, and said, Behold now, thy servant hath sheepshearers; let the king, I beseech thee, and his servants go with thy servant.

Absalom came to the king and said, “See now, your servant has sheep shearers. Please let the king and his servants go with your servant.”

Le roi répondit à Absalon : Non, mon fils, nous n'irons pas tous ; nous ne voulons point t'être à charge. Absalon le pressa ; mais il ne céda point, et il le bénit.

Y respondió el rey á Absalom: No, hijo mío, no vamos todos, porque no te hagamos costa. Y aunque porfió con él, no quiso ir, mas bendíjolo.

And the king said to Absalom, Nay, my son, let us not all now go, lest we be chargeable unto thee. And he pressed him: howbeit he would not go, but blessed him.

The king said to Absalom, “No, my son, let’s not all go, lest we be burdensome to you.” He pressed him; however he would not go, but blessed him.

Alois, Absalon lui dit : Si tu refuses, que du moins mon frère Amnon vienne avec nous. Le roi lui répondit : Pourquoi donc irait-il avec toi ?

Entonces dijo Absalom: Si no, ruégote que venga con nosotros Amnón mi hermano. Y el rey le respondió: ¿Para qué ha de ir contigo?

Then said Absalom, If not, I pray thee, let my brother Amnon go with us. And the king said unto him, Why should he go with thee?

Then Absalom said, “If not, please let my brother Amnon go with us.” The king said to him, “Why should he go with you?”

Absalon le pressa, et David laissa partir avec lui Amnon et tous ses fils. Absalon leur fit un festin comme un festin de roi.

Y había Absalom dado orden á sus criados, diciendo: Ahora bien, mirad cuándo el corazón de Amnón estará alegre del vino, y en diciéndoos yo, Herid á Amnón, entonces matadle, y no temáis; que yo os lo he mandado. Esforzaos pues, y sed valientes.

Now Absalom had commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine, and when I say unto you, Smite Amnon; then kill him, fear not: have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant.

Absalom commanded his servants, saying, “Mark now, when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine; and when I tell you, ‘Strike Amnon,’ then kill him. Don’t be afraid. Haven’t I commanded you? Be courageous, and be valiant!”

Les serviteurs d'Absalon exécutèrent contre Amnon ce que leur avait prescrit leur maître. Et tous les fils du roi se levèrent ; chacun d'eux se mit en selle sur sa mule, et ils s'enfuirent.

Pendant qu'ils étaient encore en route, on vint dire à David : Absalon a tué tous les fils du roi, et il n'en reste pas un seul.

Y estando aún ellos en el camino, llegó á David el rumor que decía: Absalom ha muerto á todos los hijos del rey, que ninguno de ellos ha quedado.

And it came to pass, while they were in the way, that tidings came to David, saying, Absalom hath slain all the king’s sons, and there is not one of them left.

While they were on the way, the news came to David, saying, “Absalom has slain all the king’s sons, and there is not one of them left!”

A ces mots, le roi se leva ; il déchira ses vêtements, et il se jeta à terre ; et tous ses serviteurs qui l'entouraient déchirèrent leurs vêtements.

Entonces levantándose David, rasgó sus vestidos, y echóse en tierra, y todos sus criados, rasgados sus vestidos, estaban delante.

Then the king arose, and tare his garments, and lay on the earth; and all his servants stood by with their clothes rent.

Et Jonabab, fils de Samaa, frère de David, prit la parole, et il dit : Que le roi mon maître ne dise pas que tous ses serviteurs les fils du roi ont été mis à mort, car Amnon seul a péri ; et c'était sur les lèvres d'Absalon depuis le jour où sa sœur Thamar a été humiliée.

Y Jonadab, hijo de Simea hermano de David, habló y dijo: No diga mi señor que han muerto á todos los jóvenes hijos del rey, que sólo Amnón es muerto: porque en boca de Absalom estaba puesto desde el día que Amnón forzó á Thamar su hermana.

And Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David’s brother, answered and said, Let not my lord suppose that they have slain all the young men the king’s sons; for Amnon only is dead: for by the appointment of Absalom this hath been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.

Jonadab the son of Shimeah, David’s brother, answered, “Don’t let my lord suppose that they have killed all the young men, the king’s sons, for Amnon only is dead; for by the appointment of Absalom this has been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.

Maintenant donc, que le roi mon maître n'ait pas à cœur tout ce qu'on lui a rapporté, quand on a dit : Tous les fils du roi sont morts, car Amnon seul n'existe plus.

Por tanto, ahora no ponga mi señor el rey en su corazón esa voz que dice: Todos los hijos del rey son muertos: porque sólo Amnón es muerto.

Now therefore let not my lord the king take the thing to his heart, to think that all the king’s sons are dead: for Amnon only is dead.

Absalom huyó luego. Entre tanto, alzando sus ojos el mozo que estaba en atalaya, miró, y he aquí mucho pueblo que venía á sus espaldas por el camino de hacia el monte.

But Absalom fled. And the young man that kept the watch lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came much people by the way of the hill side behind him.

Et Jonabab dit au roi : Tu vois, les fils du roi sont vivants ; il est advenu ce qu'avait dit ton serviteur.

Y dijo Jonadab al rey: He allí los hijos del rey que vienen: es así como tu siervo ha dicho.

And Jonadab said unto the king, Behold, the king’s sons come: as thy servant said, so it is.

Comme il achevait de parler, les fils du roi entrèrent ; ils élevèrent la voix et ils pleurèrent ; le roi aussi et tous ses serviteurs se prirent à pleurer amèrement.

Y como él acabó de hablar, he aquí los hijos del rey que vinieron, y alzando su voz lloraron. Y también el mismo rey y todos sus siervos lloraron con muy grandes lamentos.

And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of speaking, that, behold, the king’s sons came, and lifted up their voice and wept: and the king also and all his servants wept very sore.

Or, Absalon s'était enfui ; il se réfugia chez Tholmi, fils d'Emiud, roi de Gedsur, en la terre de Chamaachad, et le roi David pleura tous les jours son fils.

Mas Absalom huyó, y fuése á Talmai hijo de Amiud, rey de Gessur. Y David lloraba por su hijo todos los días.

But Absalom fled, and went to Talmai, the son of Ammihud, king of Geshur. And David mourned for his son every day.

Absalon s'était donc enfui, et il s'était retiré à Gedsur, où il demeura trois ans.

Le roi David renonça à le faire poursuivre, parce qu'il était consolé de la mort d'Amnon.

And the soul of king David longed to go forth unto Absalom: for he was comforted concerning Amnon, seeing he was dead.
