Joabe mandou a Tecoa e trouxe de lá uma mulher sábia, e lhe disse: “Por favor, finja que está de luto, vista roupas de luto, por favor, e não se unja com óleo; mas seja como uma mulher que tem chorado por um morto há muito tempo.
Envió Joab á Tecoa, y tomó de allá una mujer astuta, y díjole: Yo te ruego que te enlutes, y te vistas de ropas de luto, y no te unjas con óleo, antes sé como mujer que ha mucho tiempo que trae luto por algún muerto;
And Joab sent to Tekoah, and fetched thence a wise woman, and said unto her, I pray thee, feign thyself to be a mourner, and put on now mourning apparel, and anoint not thyself with oil, but be as a woman that had a long time mourned for the dead:
Joab sent to Tekoa and brought a wise woman from there, and said to her, “Please act like a mourner, and put on mourning clothing, please, and don’t anoint yourself with oil; but be as a woman who has mourned a long time for the dead.
Vá até o rei e fale com ele desta maneira.” Então Joabe colocou as palavras na boca dela.

And come to the king, and speak on this manner unto him. So Joab put the words in her mouth.

Quando a mulher de Tecoa falou com o rei, ela se prostrou com o rosto em terra, demonstrou respeito e disse: “Ajude-me, ó rei!”
Entró pues aquella mujer de Tecoa al rey, y postrándose en tierra sobre su rostro hizo reverencia, y dijo: Oh rey, salva.
And when the woman of Tekoah spake to the king, she fell on her face to the ground, and did obeisance, and said, Help, O king.

O rei lhe perguntou: “Qual é o seu problema?” Ela respondeu: “Na verdade, sou viúva, e o meu marido está morto.

And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, I am indeed a widow woman, and mine husband is dead.

A sua serva tinha dois filhos; e ambos brigaram no campo, e não havia ninguém para separá-los, mas um feriu o outro e o matou.

And thy handmaid had two sons, and they two strove together in the field, and there was none to part them, but the one smote the other, and slew him.

Eis que toda a família se levantou contra a sua serva, e eles dizem: 'Entregue aquele que feriu o seu irmão, para que o matemos pela vida de seu irmão a quem ele matou, e assim destruamos também o herdeiro.' Assim eles apagariam a minha brasa que sobrou, e não deixariam para o meu marido nem nome nem sobreviventes sobre a face da terra.”
Y he aquí toda la parentela se ha levantado contra tu sierva, diciendo: Entrega al que mató á su hermano, para que le hagamos morir por la vida de su hermano á quien él mató, y quitemos también el heredero. Así apagarán el ascua que me ha quedado, no dejando á mi marido nombre ni reliquia sobre la tierra.
And, behold, the whole family is risen against thine handmaid, and they said, Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the life of his brother whom he slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they shall quench my coal which is left, and shall not leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the earth.
Behold, the whole family has risen against your servant, and they say, ‘Deliver him who struck his brother, that we may kill him for the life of his brother whom he killed, and so destroy the heir also.’ Thus they would quench my coal which is left, and would leave to my husband neither name nor remainder on the surface of the earth.”
O rei disse à mulher: “Vá para a sua casa, e eu darei uma ordem a seu respeito.”
Entonces el rey dijo á la mujer: Vete á tu casa, que yo mandaré acerca de ti.
And the king said unto the woman, Go to thine house, and I will give charge concerning thee.

A mulher de Tecoa disse ao rei: “Meu senhor, ó rei, que a culpa caia sobre mim e sobre a casa de meu pai; e que o rei e o seu trono sejam inocentes.”
Y la mujer de Tecoa dijo al rey: Rey señor mío, la maldad sea sobre mí y sobre la casa de mi padre; mas el rey y su trono sin culpa.
And the woman of Tekoah said unto the king, My lord, O king, the iniquity be on me, and on my father’s house: and the king and his throne be guiltless.
The woman of Tekoa said to the king, “My lord, O king, may the iniquity be on me, and on my father’s house; and may the king and his throne be guiltless.”
O rei disse: “Se alguém lhe disser alguma coisa, traga-o a mim, e ele não a incomodará mais.”
Y el rey dijo: Al que hablare contra ti, tráelo á mí, que no te tocará más.
And the king said, Whosoever saith ought unto thee, bring him to me, and he shall not touch thee any more.
The king said, “Whoever says anything to you, bring him to me, and he will not bother you any more.”
Então ela disse: “Por favor, que o rei se lembre do SENHOR seu Deus, para que o vingador do sangue não destrua mais pessoas, para que não destruam o meu filho.” Ele respondeu: “Tão certo como vive o SENHOR, nem um cabelo do seu filho cairá no chão.”

Then said she, I pray thee, let the king remember the LORD thy God, that thou wouldest not suffer the revengers of blood to destroy any more, lest they destroy my son. And he said, As the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair of thy son fall to the earth.
Then she said, “Please let the king remember the LORD your God, that the avenger of blood destroy not any more, lest they destroy my son.” He said, “As the LORD lives, not one hair of your son shall fall to the earth.”
Então a mulher disse: “Por favor, deixe a sua serva dizer uma palavra ao meu senhor, o rei.” Ele respondeu: “Fale.”
Y la mujer dijo: Ruégote que hable tu criada una palabra á mi señor el rey. Y él dijo: Habla.
Then the woman said, Let thine handmaid, I pray thee, speak one word unto my lord the king. And he said, Say on.
Then the woman said, “Please let your servant speak a word to my lord the king.” He said, “Say on.”
A mulher disse: “Por que então o senhor planejou tal coisa contra o povo de Deus? Pois ao falar esta palavra o rei é como alguém que é culpado, visto que o rei não traz de volta para casa o seu banido.
Entonces la mujer dijo: ¿Por qué pues piensas tú otro tanto contra el pueblo de Dios? que hablando el rey esta palabra, es como culpado, por cuanto el rey no hace volver á su fugitivo.
And the woman said, Wherefore then hast thou thought such a thing against the people of God? for the king doth speak this thing as one which is faulty, in that the king doth not fetch home again his banished.
The woman said, “Why then have you devised such a thing against the people of God? For in speaking this word the king is as one who is guilty, in that the king does not bring home again his banished one.
Porque todos nós devemos morrer, e somos como a água derramada no chão, que não pode ser recolhida novamente; Deus não tira a vida, mas elabora meios para que o banido não permaneça afastado dele.
Porque de cierto morimos, y somos como aguas derramadas por tierra, que no pueden volver á recogerse: ni Dios quita la vida, sino que arbitra medio para que su desviado no sea de él excluído.
For we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God respect any person: yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.

Now therefore that I am come to speak of this thing unto my lord the king, it is because the people have made me afraid: and thy handmaid said, I will now speak unto the king; it may be that the king will perform the request of his handmaid.

Porque o rei ouvirá, para livrar a sua serva das mãos do homem que destruiria a mim e a meu filho juntos da herança de Deus.
Pues el rey oirá, para librar á su sierva de mano del hombre que me quiere raer á mí, y á mi hijo juntamente, de la heredad de Dios.
For the king will hear, to deliver his handmaid out of the hand of the man that would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.

Tu sierva pues dice: Que sea ahora la respuesta de mi señor el rey para descanso; pues que mi señor el rey es como un ángel de Dios para escuchar lo bueno y lo malo. Así Jehová tu Dios sea contigo.
Then thine handmaid said, The word of my lord the king shall now be comfortable: for as an angel of God, so is my lord the king to discern good and bad: therefore the LORD thy God will be with thee.
Then your servant said, ‘Please let the word of my lord the king bring rest; for as an angel of God, so is my lord the king to discern good and bad. May the LORD, your God, be with you.’”
Então o rei respondeu à mulher: “Por favor, não esconda de mim nada do que eu lhe perguntar.” A mulher disse: “Que o meu senhor, o rei, fale agora.”
Entonces él respondió, y dijo á la mujer: Yo te ruego que no me encubras nada de lo que yo te preguntare. Y la mujer dijo: Hable mi señor el rey.
Then the king answered and said unto the woman, Hide not from me, I pray thee, the thing that I shall ask thee. And the woman said, Let my lord the king now speak.
Then the king answered the woman, “Please don’t hide anything from me that I ask you.” The woman said, “Let my lord the king now speak.”
O rei perguntou: “A mão de Joabe está com você em tudo isso?” A mulher respondeu: “Tão certo como a sua alma vive, meu senhor, o rei, ninguém pode se desviar para a direita ou para a esquerda de nada do que o meu senhor, o rei, tem falado; pois o seu servo Joabe me ordenou, e ele colocou todas estas palavras na boca da sua serva.
Y el rey dijo: ¿No ha sido la mano de Joab contigo en todas estas cosas? Y la mujer respondió y dijo: Vive tu alma, rey señor mío, que no hay que apartarse á derecha ni á izquierda de todo lo que mi señor el rey ha hablado: porque tu siervo Joab, él me mandó, y él puso en boca de tu sierva todas estas palabras;
And the king said, Is not the hand of Joab with thee in all this? And the woman answered and said, As thy soul liveth, my lord the king, none can turn to the right hand or to the left from ought that my lord the king hath spoken: for thy servant Joab, he bade me, and he put all these words in the mouth of thine handmaid:
The king said, “Is the hand of Joab with you in all this?” The woman answered, “As your soul lives, my lord the king, no one can turn to the right hand or to the left from anything that my lord the king has spoken; for your servant Joab urged me, and he put all these words in the mouth of your servant.
O seu servo Joabe fez esta coisa para mudar a face da questão. Meu senhor é sábio, de acordo com a sabedoria de um anjo de Deus, para conhecer todas as coisas que há na terra.”
Y que trocara la forma de las palabras, Joab tu siervo lo ha hecho: mas mi señor es sabio, conforme á la sabiduría de un ángel de Dios, para conocer lo que hay en la tierra.
To fetch about this form of speech hath thy servant Joab done this thing: and my lord is wise, according to the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all things that are in the earth.

O rei disse a Joabe: “Eis agora, eu concedi esta coisa. Vá, portanto, e traga o jovem Absalão de volta.”
Entonces el rey dijo á Joab: He aquí yo hago esto: ve, y haz volver al mozo Absalom.
And the king said unto Joab, Behold now, I have done this thing: go therefore, bring the young man Absalom again.
The king said to Joab, “Behold now, I have granted this thing. Go therefore, and bring the young man Absalom back.”
Joabe prostrou-se com o rosto em terra, demonstrou respeito e abençoou o rei. Joabe disse: “Hoje o seu servo sabe que encontrei favor aos seus olhos, meu senhor, ó rei, visto que o rei atendeu ao pedido do seu servo.”
Y Joab se postró en tierra sobre su rostro, é hizo reverencia, y después que bendijo al rey, dijo: Hoy ha entendido tu siervo que he hallado gracia en tus ojos, rey señor mío; pues que ha hecho el rey lo que su siervo ha dicho.
And Joab fell to the ground on his face, and bowed himself, and thanked the king: and Joab said, To day thy servant knoweth that I have found grace in thy sight, my lord, O king, in that the king hath fulfilled the request of his servant.
Joab fell to the ground on his face, showed respect, and blessed the king. Joab said, “Today your servant knows that I have found favor in your sight, my lord, O king, in that the king has performed the request of his servant.”
Assim, Joabe se levantou e foi para Gesur, e trouxe Absalão para Jerusalém.

Ora, em todo o Israel não havia ninguém tão elogiado como Absalão por sua beleza. Desde a sola do seu pé até o alto da sua cabeça não havia defeito nele.

Então Joabe se levantou e foi até Absalão na casa dele, e lhe perguntou: “Por que os seus servos colocaram fogo na minha plantação?”
Levantóse por tanto Joab, y vino á Absalom á su casa, y díjole: ¿Por qué han puesto fuego tus siervos á mis tierras?
Then Joab arose, and came to Absalom unto his house, and said unto him, Wherefore have thy servants set my field on fire?

Absalão respondeu a Joabe: “Eis que enviei mensagem a você, dizendo: 'Venha cá, para que eu o envie ao rei, para dizer: “Por que vim de Gesur? Seria melhor para mim ainda estar lá. Agora, portanto, deixe-me ver o rosto do rei; e se há iniquidade em mim, que ele me mate.”'”
Y Absalom respondió á Joab: He aquí, yo he enviado por ti, diciendo que vinieses acá, á fin de enviarte yo al rey á que le dijeses: ¿Para qué vine de Gessur? mejor me fuera estar aún allá. Vea yo ahora la cara del rey; y si hay en mí pecado, máteme.
And Absalom answered Joab, Behold, I sent unto thee, saying, Come hither, that I may send thee to the king, to say, Wherefore am I come from Geshur? it had been good for me to have been there still: now therefore let me see the king’s face; and if there be any iniquity in me, let him kill me.
Absalom answered Joab, “Behold, I sent to you, saying, ‘Come here, that I may send you to the king, to say, “Why have I come from Geshur? It would be better for me to be there still. Now therefore, let me see the king’s face; and if there is iniquity in me, let him kill me.”’”
Assim, Joabe foi ao rei e lhe contou; e quando ele chamou Absalão, ele veio ao rei e prostrou-se com o rosto em terra diante do rei; e o rei beijou Absalão.
Vino pues Joab al rey, é hízoselo saber. Entonces llamó á Absalom, el cual vino al rey, é inclinó su rostro á tierra delante del rey: y el rey besó á Absalom.
