Apenas hubo David bajado un poco de la cima del monte, se dejó ver Siba, criado de Mifiboset, que venía a su encuentro con dos asnos cargados de doscientos panes, y cien hilos de pasas, y cien panes de higos secos, y un pellejo de vino.

Le dijo el rey: ¿Para qué todo esto? Los asnos, respondió Siba, son para que monte la familia del rey; los panes y la fruta para que coman tus criados; y el vino para que pueda beber por el desierto el que desfalleciere.
Y dijo el rey á Siba: ¿Qué es esto? Y Siba respondió: Los asnos son para la familia del rey, en que suban; los panes y la pasa para los criados, que coman; y el vino, para que beban los que se cansaren en el desierto.
And the king said unto Ziba, What meanest thou by these? And Ziba said, The asses be for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as be faint in the wilderness may drink.
The king said to Ziba, “What do you mean by these?” Ziba said, “The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that those who are faint in the wilderness may drink.”
Preguntó más el rey: ¿Dónde está el hijo de tu señor? Y Siba respondió: Se ha quedado en Jerusalén , diciendo: Hoy me restituirá la casa de Israel el reino de mi padre.
Y dijo el rey: ¿Dónde está el hijo de tu señor? Y Siba respondió al rey: He aquí él se ha quedado en Jerusalem, porque ha dicho: Hoy me devolverá la casa de Israel el reino de mi padre.
And the king said, And where is thy master’s son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem: for he said, To day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.
The king said, “Where is your master’s son?” Ziba said to the king, “Behold, he is staying in Jerusalem; for he said, ‘Today the house of Israel will restore me the kingdom of my father.’”
Dijo el rey de Siba: Sean tuyas todas las cosas que poseía Mifiboset. A lo que contestó Siba: Lo que yo pido, ¡oh mi rey y señor!, es el hallar gracia en tus ojos.
Entonces el rey dijo á Siba: He aquí, sea tuyo todo lo que tiene Mephi-boseth. Y respondió Siba inclinándose: Rey señor mío, halle yo gracia delante de ti.
Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, thine are all that pertained unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I humbly beseech thee that I may find grace in thy sight, my lord, O king.

Llegó, pues, el rey David hasta Bahurim; y he aquí que salía de esta ciudad un hombre de la parentela de Saúl, llamado Semei, hijo de Gera; el cual lo seguía de cerca, echándole maldiciones.

And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, thence came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera: he came forth, and cursed still as he came.

Y arrojaba píedras contra David y todos sus criados, mientras todo el pueblo y todos los guerreros iban en filas al lado derecho y al lado derecho del rey.

Estas eran las palabras que decia Semei, maldiciendo al rey: ¡Anda, anda, hombre sanguinario, hombre de Belial!

Ahora te ha dado el Señor el pago de toda la sangre derramada en casa de Saúl; por cuanto tú le usurpaste el reino, el Señor se lo ha traspasado a manos de tu hijo Absalón; mira cómo te ves oprimido de males, por haber sido tú un hombre sanguinario.
Jehová te ha dado el pago de toda la sangre de la casa de Saúl, en lugar del cual tú has reinado: mas Jehová ha entregado el reino en mano de tu hijo Absalom; y hete aquí sorprendido en tu maldad, porque eres varón de sangres.
The LORD hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and the LORD hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son: and, behold, thou art taken in thy mischief, because thou art a bloody man.
The LORD has returned on you all the blood of Saul’s house, in whose place you have reigned! The LORD has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son! Behold, you are caught by your own mischief, because you are a man of blood!”
Entonces Abisai, hijo de Sarvia, dijo al rey: Y ¿por qué ese perro muerto ha de estar maldiciendo al rey mi señor? Iré y le cortaré la cabeza.
Entonces Abisai hijo de Sarvia dijo al rey: ¿Por qué maldice este perro muerto á mi señor el rey? Yo te ruego que me dejes pasar, y quitaréle la cabeza.
Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray thee, and take off his head.
Then Abishai the son of Zeruiah said to the king, “Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Please let me go over and take off his head.”
Mas el rey le replicó: ¿Qué tengo yo con vosotros, oh hijos de Sarvia? Dejadlo maldecir; pues el Señor ha dispuesto que maldiga a David. ¿Y quién osará preguntarle por qué lo ha dispuesto así?
Y el rey respondió: ¿Qué tengo yo con vosotros, hijos de Sarvia? El maldice así, porque Jehová le ha dicho que maldiga á David: ¿quién pues le dirá: Por qué lo haces así?
And the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? so let him curse, because the LORD hath said unto him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Wherefore hast thou done so?
The king said, “What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? Because he curses, and because the LORD has said to him, ‘Curse David,’ who then shall say, ‘Why have you done so?’”
Dijo el rey a Abisai y a todos sus criados: Vosotros estáis viendo que un hijo mío, nacido de mis entrañas, busca cómo quitarme la vida; ¿pues qué importa que me trate así ahora un hijo de Jemini? Dejadle que me maldiga, conforme a la permisión del Señor.
Y dijo David á Abisai y á todos sus siervos: He aquí, mi hijo que ha salido de mis entrañas, acecha á mi vida: ¿cuánto más ahora un hijo de Benjamín? Dejadle que maldiga, que Jehová se lo ha dicho.
And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which came forth of my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more now may this Benjamite do it? let him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD hath bidden him.
David said to Abishai and to all his servants, “Behold, my son, who came out of my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? Leave him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD has invited him.
Quizá el Señor se apiadará de mí, y me devolverá bienes por las maldiciones que este día he recibido.
Quizá mirará Jehová á mi aflicción, y me dará Jehová bien por sus maldiciones de hoy.
It may be that the LORD will look on mine affliction, and that the LORD will requite me good for his cursing this day.
It may be that the LORD will look on the wrong done to me, and that the LORD will repay me good for the cursing of me today.”
Así, pues, David proseguía su camino acompañado de sus gentes; pero Semei iba al lado por la loma del monte, maldiciendo, y arrojando piedras contra David, y esparciendo polvo.
Y como David y los suyos iban por el camino, Semei iba por el lado del monte delante de él, andando y maldiciendo, y arrojando piedras delante de él, y esparciendo polvo.
And as David and his men went by the way, Shimei went along on the hill’s side over against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast dust.

Cusai, araquita, amigo de David, fue a presentarse a Absalón, diciéndole: Dios te guarde, oh rey; oh rey, Dios te guarde.
Y acaeció luego, que como Husai Arachîta amigo de David hubo llegado á Absalom, díjole Husai: Viva el rey, viva el rey.
And it came to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, was come unto Absalom, that Hushai said unto Absalom, God save the king, God save the king.
When Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, had come to Absalom, Hushai said to Absalom, “Long live the king! Long live the king!”
Le respondió Absalón: ¿Y ésta es la gratitud tuya para con tu amigo? ¿Cómo no has ido a acompañar a tu amigo?
Y Absalom dijo á Husai: ¿Este es tu agradecimiento para con tu amigo? ¿por qué no fuiste con tu amigo?
And Absalom said to Hushai, Is this thy kindness to thy friend? why wentest thou not with thy friend?
Absalom said to Hushai, “Is this your kindness to your friend? Why didn’t you go with your friend?”
De ningún modo, respondió Cusai, porque yo he de ser de aquel a quien ha elegido el Señor, y todo este pueblo, y todo Israel y con él estaré.
Y Husai respondió á Absalom: No: antes al que eligiere Jehová y este pueblo y todos los varones de Israel, de aquél seré yo, y con aquél quedaré.
And Hushai said unto Absalom, Nay; but whom the LORD, and this people, and all the men of Israel, choose, his will I be, and with him will I abide.
Hushai said to Absalom, “No; but whomever the LORD and this people and all the men of Israel have chosen, I will be his, and I will stay with him.
Además, ¿a quién debo servir yo?, ¿no es al hijo del rey? Como he obedecido a tu padre, de la misma manera te obedeceré también a ti.
¿Y á quién había yo de servir? ¿no es á su hijo? Como he servido delante de tu padre, así seré delante de ti.
And again, whom should I serve? should I not serve in the presence of his son? as I have served in thy father’s presence, so will I be in thy presence.
Again, whom should I serve? Shouldn’t I serve in the presence of his son? As I have served in your father’s presence, so I will be in your presence.”
Dijo entonces Absalón a Aquitofel: Tratad entre los dos qué es lo que debemos hacer.
Entonces dijo Absalom á Achitophel: Consultad qué haremos.
Then said Absalom to Ahithophel, Give counsel among you what we shall do.
Then Absalom said to Ahithophel, “Give your counsel what we shall do.”
Y dijo Aquitofel a Absalón: Abusa de las mujeres de tu padre, las cuales dejó para guardar su palacio; a fin de que sabiendo todo Israel que has hecho esta afrenta a tu padre, se comprometan más en su partido.
Y Achitophel dijo á Absalom: Entra á las concubinas de tu padre, que él dejó para guardar la casa; y todo el pueblo de Israel oirá que te has hecho aborrecible á tu padre, y así se esforzarán las manos de todos los que están contigo.
And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Go in unto thy father’s concubines, which he hath left to keep the house; and all Israel shall hear that thou art abhorred of thy father: then shall the hands of all that are with thee be strong.
Ahithophel said to Absalom, “Go in to your father’s concubines that he has left to keep the house. Then all Israel will hear that you are abhorred by your father. Then the hands of all who are with you will be strong.”
Levantaron, pues, un pabellón para Absalón en el terrado del palacio; y a vista de todo Israel fue a estar con las mujeres secundarias de su padre.
Entonces pusieron una tienda á Absalom sobre el terrado, y entró Absalom á las concubinas de su padre, en ojos de todo Israel.
So they spread Absalom a tent upon the top of the house; and Absalom went in unto his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.

Los consejos que daba Aquitofel eran mirados entonces como oráculos del mismo Dios; tan estimados eran los consejos de Aquitofel, así cuando estaba al lado de David, como cuando estaba con Absalón.
Y el consejo que daba Achitophel en aquellos días, era como si consultaran la palabra de Dios. Tal era el consejo de Achitophel, así con David como con Absalom.
And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counselled in those days, was as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.
The counsel of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if a man inquired at the inner sanctuary of God. All the counsel of Ahithophel was like this both with David and with Absalom.
