E fu rapportato a Ioab: Ecco, il re piange, e fa cordoglio di Absalom.

Y DIERON aviso á Joab: He aquí el rey llora, y hace duelo por Absalom.

And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom.

Joab was told, “Behold, the king weeps and mourns for Absalom.”

E la vittoria tornò in quel dì a tutto il popolo in duolo; perciocchè il popolo udì dire in quel dì: Il re è addolorato del suo figliuolo.

Y volvióse aquel día la victoria en luto para todo el pueblo; porque oyó decir el pueblo aquel día que el rey tenía dolor por su hijo.

And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son.

E il popolo in quel dì entrò furtivamente nella città, come furtivamente entrerebbe gente che si vergognasse per esser fuggita nella battaglia.

Entróse el pueblo aquel día en la ciudad escondidamente, como suele entrar á escondidas el pueblo avergonzado que ha huído de la batalla.

And the people gat them by stealth that day into the city, as people being ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.

E il re si coprì la faccia, e gridava con gran voce: Figliuol mio Absalom, figliuol mio Absalom, figliuol mio!

Mas el rey, cubierto el rostro, clamaba en alta voz: ¡Hijo mío Absalom, Absalom, hijo mío, hijo mío!

Ma Ioab entrò dal re in casa, e disse: Tu hai oggi svergognato il volto a tutta la tua gente, che ha oggi salvata la vita a te, ed ai tuoi figliuoli, ed alle tue figliuole, ed alle tue mogli, ed alle tue concubine;

And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines;

amando quelli che ti odiano, e odiando quelli che ti amano; perciocchè tu hai oggi dichiarato che capitani e soldati non ti son nulla; perchè io conosco oggi che, se Absalom fosse in vita, e noi tutti fossimo oggi morti, la cosa allora ti piacerebbe.

Amando á los que te aborrecen, y aborreciendo á los que te aman: porque hoy has declarado que nada te importan tus príncipes y siervos; pues hoy echo de ver que si Absalom viviera, bien que nosotros todos estuviéramos hoy muertos, entonces te contentaras.

In that thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends. For thou hast declared this day, that thou regardest neither princes nor servants: for this day I perceive, that if Absalom had lived, and all we had died this day, then it had pleased thee well.

in that you love those who hate you and hate those who love you. For you have declared today that princes and servants are nothing to you. For today I perceive that if Absalom had lived and we had all died today, then it would have pleased you well.

Or dunque levati, esci fuori, e parla alla tua gente graziosamente; perciocchè io giuro per lo Signore, che se tu non esci fuori, non pure un uomo dimorerà teco questa notte; e ciò ti sarà un male peggiore che ogni altro male che ti sia avvenuto dalla tua giovanezza infino ad ora.

Levántate pues ahora, y sal fuera, y halaga á tus siervos: porque juro por Jehová, que si no sales, ni aun uno quede contigo esta noche; y de esto te pesará más que de todos los males que te han sobrevenido desde tu mocedad hasta ahora.

Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak comfortably unto thy servants: for I swear by the LORD, if thou go not forth, there will not tarry one with thee this night: and that will be worse unto thee than all the evil that befell thee from thy youth until now.

Allora il re si levò, e si pose a sedere nella porta. E fu rapportato, e detto a tutto il popolo: Ecco, il re siede nella porta. E tutto il popolo venne davanti al re. Ritorno del re Davide in Gerusalemme ORA, essendosene gl'Israeliti fuggiti ciascuno alle sue stanze,

Entonces se levantó el rey, y sentóse á la puerta; y fué declarado á todo el pueblo, diciendo: He aquí el rey está sentado á la puerta. Y vino todo el pueblo delante del rey; mas Israel había huído, cada uno á sus estancias.

Then the king arose, and sat in the gate. And they told unto all the people, saying, Behold, the king doth sit in the gate. And all the people came before the king: for Israel had fled every man to his tent.

tutto il popolo contendeva fra sè stesso in tutte le tribù d'Israele, dicendo: Il re ci ha riscossi dalle mani de'nostri nemici: egli ancora ci ha salvati dalle mani de' Filistei; e ora egli è fuggito dal paese per cagione di Absalom.

Y todo el pueblo porfiaba en todas las tribus de Israel, diciendo: El rey nos ha librado de mano de nuestros enemigos, y él nos ha salvado de mano de los Filisteos; y ahora había huído de la tierra por miedo de Absalom.

And all the people were at strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, The king saved us out of the hand of our enemies, and he delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines; and now he is fled out of the land for Absalom.

Ed Absalom, il qual noi avevamo unto sopra noi, è morto nella battaglia. Ora dunque, perchè non dite voi nulla di far ritornare il re?

E il re Davide mandò a dire a' sacerdoti Sadoc ed Ebiatar: Parlate agli Anziani di Giuda, dicendo: Perchè sareste voi gli ultimi a ricondurre il re in casa sua? (or i ragionamenti di tutto Israele erano pervenuti al re in casa sua.)

Y el rey David envió á Sadoc y á Abiathar sacerdotes, diciendo: Hablad á los ancianos de Judá y decidles: ¿Por qué seréis vosotros los postreros en volver el rey á su casa, ya que la palabra de todo Israel ha venido al rey de volverle á su casa?

And king David sent to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, saying, Speak unto the elders of Judah, saying, Why are ye the last to bring the king back to his house? seeing the speech of all Israel is come to the king, even to his house.

Voi siete miei fratelli, mie ossa, e mia carne; perchè dunque sareste gli ultimi a ricondurre il re?

Vosotros sois mis hermanos; mis huesos y mi carne sois: ¿por qué pues seréis vosotros los postreros en volver al rey?

Ye are my brethren, ye are my bones and my flesh: wherefore then are ye the last to bring back the king?

You are my brothers. You are my bone and my flesh. Why then are you the last to bring back the king?’

Dite ancora ad Amasa: Non sei tu mie ossa, e mia carne? Così mi faccia Iddio, e così aggiunga, se tu non sei capo dell'esercito davanti a me in perpetuo, in luogo di Ioab.

Asimismo diréis á Amasa: ¿No eres tú también hueso mío y carne mía? Así me haga Dios, y así me añada, si no fueres general del ejército delante de mí para siempre, en lugar de Joab.

And say ye to Amasa, Art thou not of my bone, and of my flesh? God do so to me, and more also, if thou be not captain of the host before me continually in the room of Joab.

Così egli piegò il cuore di tutti gli uomini di Giuda, come di un uomo solo; laonde essi mandarono a dire al re: Ritornatene con tutta la tua gente.

Así inclinó el corazón de todos los varones de Judá, como el de un solo hombre, para que enviasen á decir al rey: Vuelve tú, y todos tus siervos.

And he bowed the heart of all the men of Judah, even as the heart of one man; so that they sent this word unto the king, Return thou, and all thy servants.

E il re se ritornò, ed arrivò al Giordano. Or que' di Giuda erano venuti in Ghilgal, per andare incontro al re, per fargli passare il Giordano.

Volvió pues el rey, y vino hasta el Jordán. Y Judá vino á Gilgal, á recibir al rey y pasarlo el Jordán.

E Simi, figliuolo di Ghera, Beniaminita, ch'era da Bahurim, si affrettò, e scese con que' di Giuda incontro al re Davide,

And Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite, which was of Bahurim, hasted and came down with the men of Judah to meet king David.

avendo seco mille uomini di Beniamino; e Siba, famiglio della casa di Saulle, con quindici suoi figliuoli, e venti suoi servitori; e passarono il Giordano davanti al re.

Y con él venían mil hombres de Benjamín; asimismo Siba criado de la casa de Saúl, con sus quince hijos y sus veinte siervos, los cuales pasaron el Jordán delante del rey.

And there were a thousand men of Benjamin with him, and Ziba the servant of the house of Saul, and his fifteen sons and his twenty servants with him; and they went over Jordan before the king.

Poi la barca passò, per tragittare la famiglia del re, e per far ciò che piacerebbe al re. E, come il re era per passare il Giordano, Simi, figliuolo di Ghera, gli si gittò ai piedi;

And there went over a ferry boat to carry over the king’s household, and to do what he thought good. And Shimei the son of Gera fell down before the king, as he was come over Jordan;

e disse al re: Il mio signore non m'imputi a colpa, e non ridurti a memoria il misfatto che il tuo servitore commise al giorno che il re, mio signore, uscì fuor di Gerusalemme, per recarselo a cuore.

Y dijo al rey: No me impute mi señor iniquidad, ni tengas memoria de los males que tu siervo hizo el día que mi señor el rey salió de Jerusalem, para guardarlos el rey en su corazón;

And said unto the king, Let not my lord impute iniquity unto me, neither do thou remember that which thy servant did perversely the day that my lord the king went out of Jerusalem, that the king should take it to his heart.

He said to the king, “Don’t let my lord impute iniquity to me, or remember that which your servant did perversely the day that my lord the king went out of Jerusalem, that the king should take it to his heart.

Perciocchè il tuo servitore conosce che io ho peccato; ed ecco, oggi son venuto il primo, avanti ogni altro della casa di Giuseppe, per iscendere incontro al re, mio signore.

Porque yo tu siervo conozco haber pecado, y he venido hoy el primero de toda la casa de José, para descender á recibir á mi señor el rey.

For thy servant doth know that I have sinned: therefore, behold, I am come the first this day of all the house of Joseph to go down to meet my lord the king.

For your servant knows that I have sinned. Therefore behold, I have come today as the first of all the house of Joseph to go down to meet my lord the king.”

Ma Abisai, figliuolo di Seruia, si mosse a dire: Non si farebbe egli morir Simi, perciò ch'egli ha maledetto l'Unto del Signore?

Y Abisai hijo de Sarvia respondió y dijo: ¿No ha de morir por esto Semei, que maldijo al ungido de Jehová?

But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the LORD’s anointed?

E Davide disse: Che ho io da far con voi, figliuoli di Seruia, che oggi mi siate in luogo di Satana? Farebbesi oggi morire alcuno in Israele? perciocchè non conosco io che oggi son re sopra Israele?

David entonces dijo: ¿Qué tenéis vosotros conmigo, hijos de Sarvia, que me habéis de ser hoy adversarios? ¿ha de morir hoy alguno en Israel? ¿no conozco yo que hoy soy rey sobre Israel?

And David said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah, that ye should this day be adversaries unto me? shall there any man be put to death this day in Israel? for do not I know that I am this day king over Israel?

David said, “What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah, that you should be adversaries to me today? Shall any man be put to death today in Israel? For don’t I know that I am king over Israel today?”

E il re disse a Simi: Tu non morrai. E il re gliel giurò.

Y dijo el rey á Semei: No morirás. Y el rey se lo juró.

Therefore the king said unto Shimei, Thou shalt not die. And the king sware unto him.

The king said to Shimei, “You will not die.” The king swore to him.

Poi scese ancora incontro al re Mefiboset, figliuolo di Saulle; il quale non si avea acconci i piedi, nè la barba, nè lavati i vestimenti, dal dì che il re se n'era andato, fino al giorno ch'egli tornò in pace.

También Mephi-boseth hijo de Saúl descendió á recibir al rey: no había lavado sus pies, ni había cortado su barba, ni tampoco había lavado sus vestidos, desde el día que el rey salió hasta el día que vino en paz.

And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king, and had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came again in peace.

E quando egli venne in Gerusalemme incontro al re, il re gli disse: Perchè non venisti meco, Mefiboset?

Y luego que vino él á Jerusalem á recibir al rey, el rey le dijo: Mephi-boseth, ¿por qué no fuiste conmigo?

And it came to pass, when he was come to Jerusalem to meet the king, that the king said unto him, Wherefore wentest not thou with me, Mephibosheth?

When he had come to Jerusalem to meet the king, the king said to him, “Why didn’t you go with me, Mephibosheth?”

Ed egli disse: O re, mio signore, il mio servitore m'ingannò; perciocchè il tuo servitore avea detto: Io mi farò sellar l'asino, e monterò su, ed andrò col re; conciossiachè il tuo servitore sia zoppo.

Y él dijo: Rey señor mío, mi siervo me ha engañado; pues había tu siervo dicho: Enalbardaré un asno, y subiré en él, é iré al rey; porque tu siervo es cojo.

And he answered, My lord, O king, my servant deceived me: for thy servant said, I will saddle me an ass, that I may ride thereon, and go to the king; because thy servant is lame.

He answered, “My lord, O king, my servant deceived me. For your servant said, ‘I will saddle a donkey for myself, that I may ride on it and go with the king,’ because your servant is lame.

Ed egli ha calunniato il tuo servitore appo il re, mio signore; ma pure il re, mio signore, è come un angelo di Dio; fa' dunque ciò che ti piacerà.

Empero él revolvió á tu siervo delante de mi señor el rey; mas mi señor el rey es como un ángel de Dios: haz pues lo que bien te pareciere.

And he hath slandered thy servant unto my lord the king; but my lord the king is as an angel of God: do therefore what is good in thine eyes.

He has slandered your servant to my lord the king, but my lord the king is as an angel of God. Therefore do what is good in your eyes.

Conciossiachè tutta la casa di mio padre non sia se non d'uomini che hanno meritata la morte appo il re, mio signore; e pur tu avevi posto il tuo servitore fra quelli che mangiano alla tua tavola. E qual diritto ho io ancora, e che ho io da gridare più al re?

Porque toda la casa de mi padre era digna de muerte delante de mi señor el rey, y tú pusiste á tu siervo entre los convidados de tu mesa. ¿Qué derecho pues tengo aún para quejarme más contra el rey?

For all of my father’s house were but dead men before my lord the king: yet didst thou set thy servant among them that did eat at thine own table. What right therefore have I yet to cry any more unto the king?

E il re gli disse: Perchè conteresti più le tue ragioni? Io ho detto: Tu, e Siba, partite le possessioni.

And the king said unto him, Why speakest thou any more of thy matters? I have said, Thou and Ziba divide the land.

The king said to him, “Why do you speak any more of your matters? I say, you and Ziba divide the land.”

E Mefiboset disse al re: Anzi prenda egli pure il tutto, poichè il re, mio signore, è venuto in pace in casa sua.

Y Mephi-boseth dijo al rey: Y aun tómelas él todas, pues que mi señor el rey ha vuelto en paz á su casa.

And Mephibosheth said unto the king, Yea, let him take all, forasmuch as my lord the king is come again in peace unto his own house.

Mephibosheth said to the king, “Yes, let him take all, because my lord the king has come in peace to his own house.”

Or Barzillai Galaadita era disceso da Roghelim, e passò il Giordano col re, per accompagnarlo fin di là dal Giordano.

También Barzillai Galaadita descendió de Rogelim, y pasó el Jordán con el rey, para acompañarle de la otra parte del Jordán.

And Barzillai the Gileadite came down from Rogelim, and went over Jordan with the king, to conduct him over Jordan.

E Barzillai era molto vecchio, d'età di ottant'anni; ed egli avea nudrito il re, mentre era dimorato in Mahanaim; perciocchè egli era uomo di grandissime facoltà.

Y era Barzillai muy viejo, de ochenta años, el cual había dado provisión al rey cuando estaba en Mahanaim, porque era hombre muy rico.

Now Barzillai was a very aged man, even fourscore years old: and he had provided the king of sustenance while he lay at Mahanaim; for he was a very great man.

E il re disse a Barzillai: Tu, vientene meco, ed io ti nudrirò appresso di me in Gerusalemme.

Y el rey dijo á Barzillai: Pasa conmigo, y yo te daré de comer conmigo en Jerusalem.

And the king said unto Barzillai, Come thou over with me, and I will feed thee with me in Jerusalem.

The king said to Barzillai, “Come over with me, and I will sustain you with me in Jerusalem.”

Ma Barzillai disse al re: Di che età sono io, per salir col re in Gerusalemme?

Mas Barzillai dijo al rey: ¿Cuántos son los días del tiempo de mi vida, para que yo suba con el rey á Jerusalem?

And Barzillai said unto the king, How long have I to live, that I should go up with the king unto Jerusalem?

Barzillai said to the king, “How many are the days of the years of my life, that I should go up with the king to Jerusalem?

Io sono omai d'età di ottant'anni; potrei io discernere fra il buono e il cattivo? potrebbe il tuo servitore gustar ciò che mangerebbe o berrebbe? potrei io ancora udir la voce de' cantatori e delle cantatrici? e perchè sarebbe il tuo servitore più in gravezza al re, mio signore?

Yo soy hoy día de edad de ochenta años, que ya no haré diferencia entre lo bueno y lo malo: ¿tomará gusto ahora tu siervo en lo que comiere ó bebiere? ¿oiré más la voz de los cantores y de las cantoras? ¿para qué, pues, sería aún tu siervo molesto á mi señor el rey?

I am this day fourscore years old: and can I discern between good and evil? can thy servant taste what I eat or what I drink? can I hear any more the voice of singing men and singing women? wherefore then should thy servant be yet a burden unto my lord the king?

I am eighty years old, today. Can I discern between good and bad? Can your servant taste what I eat or what I drink? Can I hear the voice of singing men and singing women any more? Why then should your servant be a burden to my lord the king?

Il tuo servitore passerà un poco di là dal Giordano col re; e perchè mi farebbe il re una cotal ricompensa?

Pasará tu siervo un poco el Jordán con el rey: ¿por qué me ha de dar el rey tan grande recompensa?

Thy servant will go a little way over Jordan with the king: and why should the king recompense it me with such a reward?

Your servant will just go over the Jordan with the king. Why should the king repay me with such a reward?

Deh! lascia che il tuo servitore se ne ritorni, e che io muoia nella mia città, presso alla sepoltura di mio padre e di mia madre; ma ecco Chimham, tuo servitore; passi egli col re, mio signore, e fagli ciò che ti piacerà.

Yo te ruego que dejes volver á tu siervo, y que muera en mi ciudad, junto al sepulcro de mi padre y de mi madre. He aquí tu siervo Chimham; que pase él con mi señor el rey, y hazle lo que bien te pareciere.

Let thy servant, I pray thee, turn back again, that I may die in mine own city, and be buried by the grave of my father and of my mother. But behold thy servant Chimham; let him go over with my lord the king; and do to him what shall seem good unto thee.

Please let your servant turn back again, that I may die in my own city, by the grave of my father and my mother. But behold, your servant Chimham; let him go over with my lord the king; and do to him what shall seem good to you.”

E il re disse: Vengasene Chimham meco, e io gli farò ciò che ti piacerà; ed a te ancora farò tutto ciò che tu chiederai da me.

Y el rey dijo: Pues pase conmigo Chimham, y yo haré con él como bien te parezca: y todo lo que tú pidieres de mí, yo lo haré.

And the king answered, Chimham shall go over with me, and I will do to him that which shall seem good unto thee: and whatsoever thou shalt require of me, that will I do for thee.

The king answered, “Chimham shall go over with me, and I will do to him that which shall seem good to you. Whatever you request of me, that I will do for you.”

E quando tutto il popolo ebbe passato il Giordano, e che il re ancora fu passato, il re baciò Barzillai, e lo benedisse. Ed egli se ne ritornò al suo luogo.

Y todo el pueblo pasó el Jordán: y luego que el rey hubo también pasado, el rey besó á Barzillai, y bendíjolo; y él se volvió á su casa.

And all the people went over Jordan. And when the king was come over, the king kissed Barzillai, and blessed him; and he returned unto his own place.

E il re passò in Ghilgal, e Chimham passò con lui. E tutto il popolo di Giuda, e anche parte del popolo d'Israele, ricondussero il re.

El rey entonces pasó á Gilgal, y con él pasó Chimham; y todo el pueblo de Judá, con la mitad del pueblo de Israel, pasaron al rey.

Then the king went on to Gilgal, and Chimham went on with him: and all the people of Judah conducted the king, and also half the people of Israel.

Or ecco, tutti gli altri Israeliti vennero al re, e gli dissero: Perchè ti hanno i nostri fratelli, gli uomini di Giuda, furtivamente menato via, ed hanno fatto passare il Giordano al re, ed alla sua famiglia, ed a tutta la sua gente con lui?

Y he aquí todos los varones de Israel vinieron al rey, y le dijeron: ¿Por qué los hombres de Judá, nuestros hermanos, te han llevado, y han hecho pasar el Jordán al rey y á su familia, y á todos los varones de David con él?

And, behold, all the men of Israel came to the king, and said unto the king, Why have our brethren the men of Judah stolen thee away, and have brought the king, and his household, and all David’s men with him, over Jordan?

E tutti gli uomini di Giuda risposero agli uomini d'Israele: Perciocchè il re è nostro prossimo; e perchè vi adirate voi per questo? abbiamo noi mangiato cosa alcuna del re? ovvero, ci ha egli fatto alcun dono?

Y todos los varones de Judá respondieron á todos los de Israel: Porque el rey es nuestro pariente. Mas ¿por qué os enojáis vosotros de eso? ¿hemos nosotros comido algo del rey? ¿hemos recibido de él algún don?

And all the men of Judah answered the men of Israel, Because the king is near of kin to us: wherefore then be ye angry for this matter? have we eaten at all of the king’s cost? or hath he given us any gift?

E gli uomini d'Israele risposero agli uomini di Giuda, e dissero: Noi abbiamo dieci parti nel re, ed anche inverso Davide noi siamo da più di voi; perchè dunque ci avete voi sprezzati? E non abbiamo noi i primieri parlato fra noi di far ritornare il nostro re? Ma il parlar degli uomini di Giuda fu più aspro che il parlar degli uomini d'Israele.

Entonces respondieron los varones de Israel, y dijeron á los de Judá: Nosotros tenemos en el rey diez partes, y en el mismo David más que vosotros: ¿por qué pues nos habéis tenido en poco? ¿no hablamos nosotros primero en volver á nuestro rey? Y el razonamiento de los varones de Judá fué más fuerte que el de los varones de Israel.

And the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we have also more right in David than ye: why then did ye despise us, that our advice should not be first had in bringing back our king? And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel.
