It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent, and earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance.

David said to him, “Where do you come from?” He said to him, “I have escaped out of the camp of Israel.”
David lui dit : Qu’est-il arrivé ? Je te prie, raconte-le moi. Il répondit : Le peuple s’est enfui de la bataille, et il y en a eu beaucoup du peuple qui sont tombés morts ; Saül aussi et Jonathan son fils sont morts.
Y David le dijo: ¿Qué ha acontecido? ruégote que me lo digas. Y él respondió: El pueblo huyó de la batalla, y también muchos del pueblo cayeron y son muertos: también Saúl y Jonathán su hijo murieron.
And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, That the people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.
David said to him, “How did it go? Please tell me.” He answered, “The people have fled from the battle, and many of the people also have fallen and are dead. Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.”
Et David dit à ce jeune garçon qui lui disait ces nouvelles : Comment sais-tu que Saül et Jonathan son fils soient morts ?
Y dijo David á aquel mancebo que le daba las nuevas: ¿Cómo sabes que Saúl es muerto, y Jonathán su hijo?
And David said unto the young man that told him, How knowest thou that Saul and Jonathan his son be dead?
David said to the young man who told him, “How do you know that Saul and Jonathan his son are dead?”
Et le jeune garçon qui lui disait ces nouvelles, lui répondit : Je me trouvai par hasard en la montagne de Guilboah, et voici Saül se tenait penché sur sa hallebarde, car voici, un chariot et quelques Chefs de gens de cheval le poursuivaient.
Y el mancebo que le daba las nuevas respondió: Casualmente vine al monte de Gilboa, y hallé á Saúl que estaba recostado sobre su lanza, y venían tras él carros y gente de á caballo.
And the young man that told him said, As I happened by chance upon mount Gilboa, behold, Saul leaned upon his spear; and, lo, the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him.

Et regardant derrière soi, il me vit, et m’appela ; et je lui répondis : Me voici.

He said unto me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and slay me: for anguish is come upon me, because my life is yet whole in me.
He said to me, ‘Please stand beside me, and kill me, for anguish has taken hold of me because my life lingers in me.’

And David said unto the young man that told him, Whence art thou? And he answered, I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite.

Et David lui dit : Comment n’as-tu pas craint d’avancer ta main pour tuer l’Oint de l’Eternel ?

And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD’s anointed?

Alors David appela l’un de ses gens, et lui dit : Approche-toi, et te jette sur lui ; lequel le frappa, et il mourut.
Entonces llamó David uno de los mancebos, y díjole: Llega, y mátalo. Y él lo hirió, y murió.
And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him that he died.

Car David lui avait dit : Ton sang soit sur ta tête, puisque ta bouche a porté témoignage contre toi, en disant : J’ai fait mourir l’Oint de l’Eternel.

And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the LORD’s anointed.
David said to him, “Your blood be on your head, for your mouth has testified against you, saying, ‘I have slain the LORD’s anointed.’”
Alors David fit sur Saül, et sur Jonathan son fils, cette complainte,
