2 Samuel 20

Então um homem briguento, chamado Seba, filho de Bicri, da tribo de Benjamim, tocou a trombeta e gritou: “Que temos nós a ver com o rei Davi? Não temos herança com o filho de Jessé! Venham, homens de Israel; vamos embora daqui!”

Y ACAECIÓ estar allí un hombre perverso que se llamaba Seba, hijo de Bichri, hombre de Benjamín, el cual tocó la corneta, y dijo: No tenemos nosotros parte en David, ni heredad en el hijo de Isaí: Israel, ¡cada uno á sus estancias!

And there happened to be there a man of Belial, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite: and he blew a trumpet, and said, We have no part in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.

There happened to be there a wicked fellow, whose name was Sheba the son of Bichri, a Benjamite; and he blew the trumpet, and said, “We have no portion in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse. Every man to his tents, Israel!”

Assim todos os homens de Israel se uniram a Seba e abandonaram Davi! Mas os homens de Judá ficaram com seu rei e o acompanharam desde o Jordão até Jerusalém.

Así se fueron de en pos de David todos los hombres de Israel, y seguían á Seba hijo de Bichri: mas los de Judá fueron adheridos á su rey, desde el Jordán hasta Jerusalem.

So every man of Israel went up from after David, and followed Sheba the son of Bichri: but the men of Judah clave unto their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.

Quando Davi chegou ao palácio em Jerusalém, o rei ordenou que as suas dez concubinas que haviam ficado ali para cuidar da casa fossem separadas numa casa. Ele as sustentou, porém não teve mais relações com elas. Assim permaneceram no palácio como se fossem viúvas, até o fim da vida.

Y luego que llegó David á su casa en Jerusalem, tomó el rey las diez mujeres concubinas que había dejado para guardar la casa, y púsolas en una casa en guarda, y dióles de comer: pero nunca más entró á ellas, sino que quedaron encerradas hasta que murieron en viudez de por vida.

And David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women his concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in ward, and fed them, but went not in unto them. So they were shut up unto the day of their death, living in widowhood.

O rei deu a seguinte ordem a Amasa: “Reúna as tropas de Judá e se apresente com elas dentro de três dias”.

Después dijo el rey á Amasa: Júntame los varones de Judá para dentro de tres días, y hállate tú aquí presente.

Then said the king to Amasa, Assemble me the men of Judah within three days, and be thou here present.

Amasa saiu para convocar os soldados, mas no fim dos três dias não voltou para apresentar-se ao rei.

Fué pues Amasa á juntar á Judá; pero detúvose más del tiempo que le había sido señalado.

So Amasa went to assemble the men of Judah: but he tarried longer than the set time which he had appointed him.

So Amasa went to call the men of Judah together, but he stayed longer than the set time which had been appointed to him.

Então Davi disse a Abisai: “Agora Seba, filho de Bicri, vai perturbar-me e prejudicarnos mais do que Absalão. Por isso, leve a minha guarda pessoal e persiga-o, antes que ele entre em alguma cidade fortificada, onde não possamos alcançá-lo”.

Y dijo David á Abisai: Seba hijo de Bichri nos hará ahora más mal que Absalom: toma pues tú los siervos de tu señor, y ve tras él, no sea que halle las ciudades fortificadas, y se nos vaya de delante.

And David said to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the son of Bichri do us more harm than did Absalom: take thou thy lord’s servants, and pursue after him, lest he get him fenced cities, and escape us.

David said to Abishai, “Now Sheba the son of Bichri will do us more harm than Absalom did. Take your lord’s servants and pursue after him, lest he get himself fortified cities, and escape out of our sight.”

Então Joabe, os queretitas, e os peletitas e todos os guerreiros saíram em perseguição a Seba, filho de Bicri.

Entonces salieron en pos de él los hombres de Joab, y los Ceretheos y Peletheos, y todos los valientes: salieron de Jerusalem para ir tras Seba hijo de Bichri.

And there went out after him Joab’s men, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and all the mighty men: and they went out of Jerusalem, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.

Ao chegarem à pedra grande, em Gibeom, encontraram-se face a face com Amasa. Joabe usava seu uniforme e trazia um punhal no cinto. Ao se defrontar com Amasa, a espada caiu da bainha.

Y estando ellos cerca de la grande peña que está en Gabaón, salióles Amasa al encuentro. Ahora bien, la vestidura que Joab tenía sobrepuesta estábale ceñida, y sobre ella el cinto de una daga pegada á sus lomos en su vaina, de la que así como él avanzó, cayóse aquélla.

When they were at the great stone which is in Gibeon, Amasa went before them. And Joab’s garment that he had put on was girded unto him, and upon it a girdle with a sword fastened upon his loins in the sheath thereof; and as he went forth it fell out.

Então Joabe disse a Amasa: “Muito prazer em ver você, meu irmão”, e puxou-o para si com a mão direita, como se fosse beijá-lo.

Entonces Joab dijo á Amasa: ¿Tienes paz, hermano mío? Y tomó Joab con la diestra la barba de Amasa, para besarlo.

And Joab said to Amasa, Art thou in health, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with the right hand to kiss him.

Amasa não percebeu a espada na mão esquerda dele, e Joabe o feriu na altura do estômago a ponto de Os intestinos caírem no chão. Não foi preciso feri-lo duas vezes pois Amasa morreu ali mesmo. Joabe e seu irmão Abisai deixaram o corpo de Amasa naquele mesmo lugar e saíram para perseguir Seba, filho de Bicri.

Y como Amasa no se cuidó de la daga que Joab en la mano tenía, hirióle éste con ella en la quinta costilla, y derramó sus entrañas por tierra, y cayó muerto sin darle segundo golpe. Después Joab y su hermano Abisai fueron en seguimiento de Seba hijo de Bichri.

But Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in Joab’s hand: so he smote him therewith in the fifth rib, and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.

Um dos soldados de Joabe gritou para os soldados de Amasa: “Quem estiver do lado de Davi e de Joabe, venha e siga Joabe”.

Y uno de los criados de Joab se paró junto á él, diciendo: Cualquiera que amare á Joab y á David vaya en pos de Joab.

And one of Joab’s men stood by him, and said, He that favoureth Joab, and he that is for David, let him go after Joab.

One of Joab’s young men stood by him, and said, “He who favors Joab, and he who is for David, let him follow Joab!”

Os homens de Amasa não tinham coragem de deixar o corpo dele ali no caminho, no meio de uma poça de sangue; os que chegavam paravam para ver. Então os homens de Joabe arrastaram o corpo de Amasa para o campo e ali o deixaram coberto com uma manta.

Y Amasa se había revolcado en la sangre en mitad del camino: y viendo aquel hombre que todo el pueblo se paraba, apartó á Amasa del camino al campo, y echó sobre él una vestidura, porque veía que todos los que venían se paraban junto á él.

And Amasa wallowed in blood in the midst of the highway. And when the man saw that all the people stood still, he removed Amasa out of the highway into the field, and cast a cloth upon him, when he saw that every one that came by him stood still.

Amasa lay wallowing in his blood in the middle of the highway. When the man saw that all the people stood still, he carried Amasa out of the highway into the field, and cast a garment over him when he saw that everyone who came by him stood still.

Com o corpo de Amasa fora do caminho, todos seguiram Joabe em perseguição a Seba, filho de Bicri.

Luego, pues, que fué apartado del camino, pasaron todos los que seguían á Joab, para ir tras Seba hijo de Bichri.

Nesse meio-tempo, Seba havia percorrido todo o Israel para reunir sua própria família, a de Bicri, na cidade de Abel-Bete-Maaca.

Quando os soldados de Joabe chegaram, cercaram a cidade de Abel-Bete-Maaca e, levantando ao lado do muro uma rampa de pedras, do alto dela tentavam derrubar o muro.

Y vinieron y cercáronlo en Abel de Beth-maachâ, y pusieron baluarte contra la ciudad; y puesto que fué al muro, todo el pueblo que estaba con Joab trabajaba por derribar la muralla.

And they came and besieged him in Abel of Beth-maachah, and they cast up a bank against the city, and it stood in the trench: and all the people that were with Joab battered the wall, to throw it down.

Porém uma mulher sábia que morava na cidade gritou: “Ouçam, ouçam! Peçam para Joabe vir até aqui porque eu preciso falar com ele”.

Entonces una mujer sabia dió voces en la ciudad, diciendo: Oid, oid; ruégoos que digáis á Joab se llegue á acá, para que yo hable con él.

Then cried a wise woman out of the city, Hear, hear; say, I pray you, unto Joab, Come near hither, that I may speak with thee.

Then a wise woman cried out of the city, “Hear, hear! Please say to Joab, ‘Come near here, that I may speak with you.’”

Quando ele se aproximou, a mulher perguntou: “Você é Joabe?” “Sim, sou Joabe”, respondeu ele. Ela continuou: “Ouça o que a sua serva tem a lhe dizer”. “Estou ouvindo”, disse ele.

Y como él se acercó á ella, dijo la mujer: ¿Eres tú Joab? Y él respondió: Yo soy. Y ella le dijo: Oye las palabras de tu sierva. Y él respondió: Oigo.

And when he was come near unto her, the woman said, Art thou Joab? And he answered, I am he. Then she said unto him, Hear the words of thine handmaid. And he answered, I do hear.

He came near to her; and the woman said, “Are you Joab?” He answered, “I am.” Then she said to him, “Hear the words of your servant.” He answered, “I’m listening.”

E a mulher continuou: “Há uma frase que se tornou conhecida: ‘Se tiver algum problema para resolver, busque conselho na cidade de Abel’, e era assim que resolviam os problemas.

Entonces tornó ella á hablar, diciendo: Antiguamente solían hablar, diciendo: Quien preguntare, pregunte en Abel: y así concluían.

Then she spake, saying, They were wont to speak in old time, saying, They shall surely ask counsel at Abel: and so they ended the matter.

Then she spoke, saying, “They used to say in old times, ‘They shall surely ask counsel at Abel,’ and so they settled a matter.

Você está procurando destruir uma cidade antiga, onde sempre dominaram o amor e a paz; além do mais, uma cidade que sempre foi leal a Israel. Como pode você, então, destruir o que pertence ao Senhor?”

Yo soy de las pacíficas y fieles de Israel: y tú procuras destruir una ciudad que es madre de Israel: ¿por qué destruyes la heredad de Jehová?

I am one of them that are peaceable and faithful in Israel: thou seekest to destroy a city and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou swallow up the inheritance of the LORD?

I am among those who are peaceable and faithful in Israel. You seek to destroy a city and a mother in Israel. Why will you swallow up the LORD’s inheritance?”

E Joabe respondeu: “Não é nada disso que queremos fazer. Longe de mim destruir e arrasar esta cidade!

Y Joab respondió, diciendo: Nunca tal, nunca tal me acontezca, que yo destruya ni deshaga.

And Joab answered and said, Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy.

Joab answered, “Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy.

Tudo o que queremos é um homem chamado Seba, filho de Bicri, das colinas de Efraim, que se rebelou contra o rei Davi. Se você me entregar esse homem, deixaremos a cidade em paz”. “Muito bem”, respondeu a mulher. “Prometo que jogaremos a cabeça desse homem para você do alto do muro”.

The matter is not so: but a man of mount Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, hath lifted up his hand against the king, even against David: deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. And the woman said unto Joab, Behold, his head shall be thrown to thee over the wall.

Então a mulher procurou o povo e, sábia como era, foi atendida no seu conselho. Cortaram, pois, a cabeça de Seba, filho de Bicri e a atiraram para Joabe. Diante disso, Joabe fez tocar a trombeta, reuniu seus soldados e cada um voltou para a sua casa. E Joabe voltou para o rei, em Jerusalém.

La mujer fué luego á todo el pueblo con su sabiduría; y ellos cortaron la cabeza á Seba hijo de Bichri, y echáronla á Joab. Y él tocó la corneta, y esparciéronse de la ciudad, cada uno á su estancia. Y Joab se volvió al rey á Jerusalem.

Then the woman went unto all the people in her wisdom. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri, and cast it out to Joab. And he blew a trumpet, and they retired from the city, every man to his tent. And Joab returned to Jerusalem unto the king.

Joabe era o comandante do exército; Benaia, filho de Joiada, era o comandante da guarda real e comandava os queretitas e os peletitas.

Así quedó Joab sobre todo el ejército de Israel; y Benaía hijo de Joiada sobre los Ceretheos y Peletheos;

Adonirão cuidava dos que estavam sujeitos a trabalhos forçados; Josafá, filho de Ailude, era o historiador que registrava os acontecimentos.

Seva era o secretário; Zadoque e Abiatar eram os sacerdotes;

Y Seba, escriba; y Sadoc y Abiathar, sacerdotes; é Ira Jaireo fué un jefe principal cerca de David.

And Sheva was scribe: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:

Sheva was scribe, Zadok and Abiathar were priests,

e Ira, o jairita, era o ministro pessoal de Davi.
