2 Samuel 21

Et du temps de David, il y eut une famine qui dura trois années consécutives. David questionna le Seigneur, et le Seigneur dit : Sur Saül et sur sa maison pèse une iniquité qui demande encore de son sang, parce qu'il a mis à mort les Gabaonites.

Y EN los días de David hubo hambre por tres años consecutivos. Y David consultó á Jehová, y Jehová le dijo: Es por Saúl, y por aquella casa de sangre; porque mató á los Gabaonitas.

Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.

There was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year; and David sought the face of the LORD. The LORD said, “It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he put the Gibeonites to death.”

Le roi David appela les Gabaonites, et il s'entretint avec eux. Or, les Gabaonites ne sont point fils d'Israël, mais un débris des Amorrhéens, et les fils d'Israël leur avaient prêté serment ; malgré cela, Saül entreprit de les exterminer, dans son zèle pour les fils d'Israël et de Juda.

And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)

David dit donc aux Gabaonites : Que puis-je faire pour vous ? comment pourrai-je vous apaiser afin que vous bénissiez l'héritage du Seigneur ?

Dijo pues David á los Gabaonitas: ¿Qué os haré, y con qué expiaré para que bendigáis á la heredad de Jehová?

Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?

and David said to the Gibeonites, “What should I do for you? And with what should I make atonement, that you may bless the LORD’s inheritance?”

Et les Gabaonites répondirent : Entre nous et entre Saül et sa famille, il n'est question ni d'argent, ni d'or, et nul en Israël ne doit, à cause de nous, mourir. Et David reprit : Que voulez-vous dire ? Parlez, je le ferai pour vous.

Y los Gabaonitas le respondieron: No tenemos nosotros querella sobre plata ni sobre oro con Saúl y con su casa: ni queremos que muera hombre de Israel. Y él les dijo: Lo que vosotros dijereis os haré.

And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.

The Gibeonites said to him, “It is no matter of silver or gold between us and Saul or his house; neither is it for us to put any man to death in Israel.” He said, “I will do for you whatever you say.”

Et ils dirent au roi : L'homme qui a tourné contre nous ses forces, qui nous a traqués, qui a conçu le vain projet de nous exterminer, nous voulons l'effacer de sorte qu'il ne reste rien de lui, sur tout le territoire d'Israël.

Y ellos respondieron al rey: De aquel hombre que nos destruyó, y que maquinó contra nosotros, para extirparnos sin dejar nada de nosotros en todo el término de Israel;

And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,

Livre-nous sept de ses fils, afin qu'en Gabaon, ville de Saül, nous les exposions au soleil pour le Seigneur ; sept fils de Saül, choisis pour le Seigneur. Et le roi dit : Je vous les livrerai.

Dénsenos siete varones de sus hijos, para que los ahorquemos á Jehová en Gabaa de Saúl, el escogido de Jehová. Y el rey dijo: Yo los daré.

Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, whom the LORD did choose. And the king said, I will give them.

Le roi épargna Miphiboseth, fils de Jonathan, fils de Saül, à cause du serment du Seigneur que s'étaient mutuellement prêté Jonathan et David.

Y perdonó el rey á Mephi-boseth, hijo de Jonathán, hijo de Saúl, por el juramento de Jehová que hubo entre ellos, entre David y Jonathán hijo de Saúl.

But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD’s oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.

Mais il prit les deux fils de Respha, fille d'Ais, qu'elle avait eus de Saül : Hermoni et Miphiboseth, et les cinq fils de Michol, fille de Saül, qu'elle avait eus d'Esdriel, fils de Berzelli, le Moülathite.

But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:

But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bore to Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Merab the daughter of Saul, whom she bore to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite.

Et il les remit aux Gabaonites, qui les exposèrent au soleil, sur la montagne, devant le Seigneur, et tous les sept succombèrent ensemble. Ils moururent dans les premiers jours de la moisson, comme on commençait à couper les orges.

And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the hill before the LORD: and they fell all seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.

And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.

And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.

Après cela, David partit, et il reprit les ossements de Saül et ceux de Jonathan, aux hommes de Jabès-Galaad qui les avaient dérobés dans les rues de Bethsam, où les Philistins les avaient cloués, le jour de leur victoire sur Saül en Gelboé.

And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh-gilead, which had stolen them from the street of Beth-shan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:

So David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh Gilead, who had stolen them from the street of Beth Shan, where the Philistines had hanged them in the day that the Philistines killed Saul in Gilboa;

E hizo llevar de allí los huesos de Saúl y los huesos de Jonathán su hijo; y juntaron también los huesos de los ahorcados.

And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.

Et l'on ensevelit tous ces ossements, en Benjamin, sur les flancs de la montagne, dans le sépulcre de Cis, père de Saül ; on exécuta tout ce que David avait prescrit, et après cela Dieu exauça les vœux de la terre.

Y sepultaron los huesos de Saúl y los de su hijo Jonathán en tierra de Benjamín, en Sela, en el sepulcro de Cis su padre; é hicieron todo lo que el rey había mandado. Después se aplacó Dios con la tierra.

And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.

Ensuite, la guerre s'alluma encore entre les Philistins et Israël. David se mit en campagne avec ses serviteurs ; dans une bataille contre les Philistins, lui-même sortit des rangs, et de l'autre côté,

Jesbi, de la race des géants. Celui-ci portait une javeline dont la pointe pesait trois cents sicles d'airain ; à sa ceinture pendait une massue, et il pensait tuer David.

En esto Isbi-benob, el cual era de los hijos del gigante, y el peso de cuya lanza era de trescientos siclos de metal, y tenía él ceñida una nueva espada, trató de herir á David:

And Ishbi-benob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.

and Ishbibenob, who was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear was three hundred shekels of bronze in weight, he being armed with a new sword, thought he would kill David.

Mais Abessa vint au secours du roi ; il frappa le Philistin et il le tua. Alors, les hommes de David jurèrent et dirent : Tu ne viendras plus à la guerre avec nous, de peur que tu n'éteignes la lampe d'Israël.

Mas Abisai hijo de Sarvia le socorrió, é hirió al Filisteo, y matólo. Entonces los hombres de David le juraron, diciendo: Nunca más de aquí adelante saldrás con nosotros á batalla, porque no apagues la lámpara de Israel.

But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.

But Abishai the son of Zeruiah helped him, and struck the Philistine and killed him. Then the men of David swore to him, saying, “Don’t go out with us to battle any more, so that you don’t quench the lamp of Israel.”

Après cela, il y eut encore un combat près de Geth avec les Philistins. Alors, Sebocha, d'Astaroth, tua Seph, de la race des géants.

Otra segunda guerra hubo después en Gob contra los Filisteos: entonces Sibechâi Husathita hirió á Saph, que era de los hijos del gigante.

And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant.

Puis, il y eut une bataille à Rhom avec les Philistins, et Eléanan, fils d'Ariorgim de Bethléem, tua Goliath le Géthéen, qui portait une javeline dont le bois ressemblait au mât d'un tisserand.

Otra guerra hubo en Gob contra los Filisteos, en la cual Elhanan, hijo de Jaare-oregim de Beth-lehem, hirió á Goliath Getheo, el asta de cuya lanza era como un enjullo de telar.

And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim, a Beth-lehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.

There was again war with the Philistines at Gob, and Elhanan the son of Jaare-Oregim the Bethlehemite killed Goliath the Gittite’s brother, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.

Il y eut encore un combat à Geth. Et il y avait un homme de grande taille, ayant six doigts à chaque main et six doigts à chaque pied, en tout vingt-quatre doigts. Et il était aussi de la race des géants.

Después hubo otra guerra en Gath, donde hubo un hombre de grande altura, el cual tenía doce dedos en las manos, y otros doce en los pies, veinticuatro en todos: y también era de los hijos del gigante.

And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.

Et il défiait Israël ; il fut tué par Jonathan, fils de Sémeï, frère de David.

And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea the brother of David slew him.

Tous les quatre étaient issus des géants, et ils étaient nés à Geth dans la famille de Rhapha, et ils tombèrent sous les coups de David ou de ses serviteurs.
