Houve uma grande fome por todo o reino de Davi durante três anos seguidos. Davi orou muito ao Senhor pedindo solução para esse problema. Então o Senhor lhe disse: “O período de fome caiu sobre o seu reino por causa do crime cometido por Saul e sua família. Eles mataram os gibeonitas; houve muito sangue derramado”.
