Das folgende Lied richtete David an den HERRN zu der Zeit, als der HERR ihn aus der Hand aller seiner Feinde und (besonders) aus der Hand Sauls errettet hatte. Er betete (damals):
Y HABLÓ David á Jehová las palabras de este cántico, el día que Jehová le había librado de la mano de todos sus enemigos, y de la mano de Saúl.

Der HERR ist mein Fels, meine Burg und mein Erretter;
Y dijo: Jehová es mi roca, y mi fortaleza, y mi libertador;

and he said: “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine;
Gott ist mein Fels, zu dem ich mich flüchte, mein Schild und das Horn meines Heils, mein fester Turm und meine Zuflucht, mein Erretter, der von Gewalttat mich rettet.
Dios de mi roca, en él confiaré: mi escudo, y el cuerno de mi salud, mi fortaleza, y mi refugio; mi salvador, que me librarás de violencia.
The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

die Netze des Totenreichs umfingen mich, die Schlingen des Todes fielen über mich.
Me rodearon los dolores del infierno, y me tomaron descuidado lazos de muerte.
The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;
The cords of Sheol were around me. The snares of death caught me.
In meiner Angst rief ich zum HERRN und schrie um Hilfe zu meinem Gott; da vernahm er in seinem Palast mein Rufen, und mein Notschrei drang zu seinen Ohren.
Tuve angustia, invoqué á Jehová, y clamé á mi Dios: y él oyó mi voz desde su templo; llegó mi clamor á sus oídos.
In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

Da wankte und schwankte die Erde, des Himmels Grundfesten bebten und wankten hin und her, denn er war zornentbrannt;

Dann donnerte der HERR vom Himmel her, der Höchste ließ seine Stimme erschallen;

Da wurden sichtbar die Tiefen des Meeres und aufgedeckt die Grundfesten der Erde durch das Schelten des HERRN, von dem Zornesschnauben seiner Nase.

Er streckte die Hand herab aus der Höhe, ergriff mich, zog mich heraus aus den großen Fluten,

entriß mich meinem starken Feinde, meinen Widersachern, die zu stark mir waren.
Libróme de fuertes enemigos, de aquellos que me aborrecían, los cuales eran más fuertes que yo.
He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

Sie hatten mich überfallen an meinem Unglückstage, doch der HERR ward mir zur Stütze;
Asaltáronme en el día de mi calamidad; mas Jehová fué mi sostén.

er führte mich heraus auf weiten Raum, riß mich heraus, weil er Wohlgefallen an mir hatte.

Der HERR hat mir gelohnt nach meiner Gerechtigkeit, nach der Reinheit meiner Hände mir vergolten;

denn ich habe innegehalten die Wege des HERRN und bin von meinem Gott nicht treulos abgefallen;

nein, alle seine Rechte haben mir vor Augen gestanden, und von seinen Geboten bin ich nicht abgewichen.

Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

Gegen den Guten erweist du dich gütig, gegen den Redlichen zeigst du dich redlich,
Con el bueno eres benigno, y con el íntegro te muestras íntegro;
With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.
With the merciful you will show yourself merciful. With the perfect man you will show yourself perfect.
gegen den Reinen erweist du dich rein, doch gegen den Falschen zeigst du dich enttäuschend;
Limpio eres para con el limpio, mas con el perverso eres rígido.
With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.
With the pure you will show yourself pure. With the crooked you will show yourself shrewd.
denn du schaffst demütigen Leuten Hilfe, aber stolze Augen erniedrigst du.
Y tú salvas al pueblo humilde; mas tus ojos sobre los altivos, para abatirlos.
And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.
You will save the afflicted people, but your eyes are on the arrogant, that you may bring them down.
Ja, du bist meine Leuchte, o HERR; und mein Gott erhellt meine Finsternis.
Porque tú eres mi lámpara, oh Jehová: Jehová da luz á mis tinieblas.
For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.
For you are my lamp, LORD. The LORD will light up my darkness.
Denn mit dir überrenne ich Feindesscharen, mit meinem Gott überspringe ich Mauern.
Porque en ti romperé ejércitos, y con mi Dios saltaré las murallas.
For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.
For by you, I run against a troop. By my God, I leap over a wall.
Dieser Gott – sein Walten ist vollkommen, die Worte des HERRN sind lauter, ein Schild ist er allen, die zu ihm sich flüchten.
Dios, perfecto su camino: la palabra de Jehová purificada, escudo es de todos los que en él esperan.
As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.
As for God, his way is perfect. The LORD’s word is tested. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.
Denn wer ist Gott außer dem HERRN und wer ein Fels als nur unser Gott?,
Porque ¿qué Dios hay sino Jehová? ¿ó quién es fuerte sino nuestro Dios?
For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?
For who is God, besides the LORD? Who is a rock, besides our God?
dieser Gott, der mit Kraft mich gegürtet und der meinen Weg ohn’ Anstoß gemacht;
Dios es el que con virtud me corrobora, y el que despeja mi camino;
God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.
God is my strong fortress. He makes my way perfect.
der mir Füße verliehen den Hirschen gleich und mich sicher auf Bergeshöhen gestellt;
El que hace mis pies como de ciervas, y el que me asienta en mis alturas;
He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

der meine Hände streiten gelehrt, daß meine Arme den ehernen Bogen spannten.
El que enseña mis manos para la pelea, y da que con mis brazos quiebre el arco de acero.
He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

Du reichtest mir deinen schützenden Schild, und deine Gnade machte mich groß.
Tú me diste asimismo el escudo de tu salud, y tu benignidad me ha acrecentado.

Du schafftest weiten Raum meinen Schritten unter mir, und meine Knöchel wankten nicht.
Tú ensanchaste mis pasos debajo de mí, para que no titubeasen mis rodillas.
Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

Ich verfolgte meine Feinde, vertilgte sie und kehrte nicht um, bis ich sie vernichtet;
Perseguiré á mis enemigos, y quebrantarélos; y no me volveré hasta que los acabe.
I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

ich vernichtete und zerschmetterte sie, daß sie nicht wieder aufstehn konnten: sie sanken unter meine Füße nieder.

Und du gürtetest mich mit Kraft zum Streit, beugtest unter mich, die sich gegen mich erhoben;

For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.
For you have armed me with strength for the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.
du triebst meine Feinde vor mir in die Flucht, und alle, die mich haßten, vernichtete ich.
Tú me diste la cerviz de mis enemigos, de mis aborrecedores, y que yo los destruyese.
Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.
You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me.
Sie blickten nach Hilfe umher – doch da war kein Helfer – zum HERRN – doch er hörte sie nicht;
Miraron, y no hubo quien los librase; á Jehová, mas no les respondió.

Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.

Du hast mich aus meines Volkes Fehden errettet, mich zum Oberhaupt von Völkern eingesetzt: Völker, die ich nicht kannte, dienen mir;
Tú me libraste de contiendas de pueblos: tú me guardaste para que fuese cabeza de gentes: pueblos que no conocía, me sirvieron.
Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.
You also have delivered me from the strivings of my people. You have kept me to be the head of the nations. A people whom I have not known will serve me.
die Söhne des Auslands huldigen mir, aufs bloße Wort gehorchen sie mir;
Los extraños titubeaban á mí: en oyendo, me obedecían.
Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.
The foreigners will submit themselves to me. As soon as they hear of me, they will obey me.
die Söhne des Auslands sinken mutlos hin und kommen zitternd hervor aus ihren Schlössern.
Los extraños desfallecían, y temblaban en sus escondrijos.
Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.
The foreigners will fade away, and will come trembling out of their close places.
Der HERR lebt: gepriesen sei mein Hort!, und erhaben ist der Gott, der Fels meines Heils,
Viva Jehová, y sea bendita mi roca; sea ensalzado el Dios, la roca de mi salvamento:
The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.
The LORD lives! Blessed be my rock! Exalted be God, the rock of my salvation,
der Gott, der mir Rache verliehen und die Völker unter meine Herrschaft gezwungen,
El Dios que me ha vengado, y sujeta los pueblos debajo de mí;
It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,
even the God who executes vengeance for me, who brings down peoples under me,
der mich von meinen Feinden frei gemacht und über meine Widersacher mich erhöht, von dem Mann der Gewalttat mich befreit hat!
Y que me saca de entre mis enemigos: tú me sacaste en alto de entre los que se levantaron contra mí: librásteme del varón de iniquidades.
And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
who brings me away from my enemies. Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. You deliver me from the violent man.
Drum will ich dich preisen, HERR, unter den Völkern und deinem Namen lobsingen,
Por tanto yo te confesaré entre las gentes, oh Jehová, y cantaré á tu nombre.
Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.
Therefore I will give thanks to you, LORD, among the nations, and will sing praises to your name.
dir, der seinem Könige großes Heil verleiht und Gnade an seinem Gesalbten übt, an David und seinem Hause ewiglich!
El que engrandece las saludes de su rey, y hace misericordia á su ungido, á David, y á su simiente, para siempre.
He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
He gives great deliverance to his king, and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his offspring, forever more.”
