Y HABLÓ David á Jehová las palabras de este cántico, el día que Jehová le había librado de la mano de todos sus enemigos, y de la mano de Saúl.

«El Señor es mi roca, mi fortaleza y mi salvador.

and he said: “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine;
Mi Dios, la roca en quien me refugio. Mi escudo y mi salvación, mi asilo y mi amparo. ¡Él me libró de los violentos!
Dios de mi roca, en él confiaré: mi escudo, y el cuerno de mi salud, mi fortaleza, y mi refugio; mi salvador, que me librarás de violencia.
The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;
The cords of Sheol were around me. The snares of death caught me.
Pero en mi angustia invoqué al Señor, y él me oyó desde su templo. ¡Mi clamor llegó a sus oídos!

In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

Por el soplo de su aliento se partió el mar en dos, y se pudo ver el fondo del mar.

»Desde las alturas me rescató; me sacó de en medio de las aguas;
Extendió su mano de lo alto, y arrebatóme, y sacóme de copiosas aguas.

me salvó de enemigos poderosos, de todos los que me odiaban, y de los que eran demasiado fuertes para mí.
Libróme de fuertes enemigos, de aquellos que me aborrecían, los cuales eran más fuertes que yo.
He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

»Con el misericordioso eres misericordioso, con el intachable eres intachable.
Con el bueno eres benigno, y con el íntegro te muestras íntegro;
With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.
With the merciful you will show yourself merciful. With the perfect man you will show yourself perfect.
Con el que es sincero, tú eres sincero, pero con el que es tramposo tú eres inflexible.
Limpio eres para con el limpio, mas con el perverso eres rígido.
With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.
With the pure you will show yourself pure. With the crooked you will show yourself shrewd.
Salvas a los que están en angustia, pero humillas a los que se enaltecen, porque tú observas sus pasos.
Y tú salvas al pueblo humilde; mas tus ojos sobre los altivos, para abatirlos.
And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.
You will save the afflicted people, but your eyes are on the arrogant, that you may bring them down.
Señor, tú eres mi luz; tú haces que mis tinieblas resplandezcan.
Porque tú eres mi lámpara, oh Jehová: Jehová da luz á mis tinieblas.
For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.
For you are my lamp, LORD. The LORD will light up my darkness.
Por tu poder yo puedo aplastar a un ejército; por tu fortaleza puedo escalar murallas.
Porque en ti romperé ejércitos, y con mi Dios saltaré las murallas.
For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

»El camino de Dios es perfecto; la palabra del Señor es refinada. Es escudo para todos los que se refugian en él.
Dios, perfecto su camino: la palabra de Jehová purificada, escudo es de todos los que en él esperan.
As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.
As for God, his way is perfect. The LORD’s word is tested. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.
¿Qué Dios hay fuera de nuestro Señor? ¡Él es el único que puede protegernos, pues es una sólida roca!
Porque ¿qué Dios hay sino Jehová? ¿ó quién es fuerte sino nuestro Dios?
For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?

Dios es mi poderosa fortaleza; él me ha dado seguridad.
Dios es el que con virtud me corrobora, y el que despeja mi camino;
God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

Él hace que el bueno camine con firmeza, como las cabras monteses sobre las rocas.
El que hace mis pies como de ciervas, y el que me asienta en mis alturas;
He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

Él me prepara para la batalla, y me fortalece para usar las armas de guerra.
El que enseña mis manos para la pelea, y da que con mis brazos quiebre el arco de acero.
He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
He teaches my hands to war, so that my arms bend a bow of bronze.
Tú me has dado el escudo de tu salvación; y tu bondad me hace prosperar.
Tú me diste asimismo el escudo de tu salud, y tu benignidad me ha acrecentado.
Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.
You have also given me the shield of your salvation. Your gentleness has made me great.
Me despejas el camino, para que mis pies no resbalen.
Tú ensanchaste mis pasos debajo de mí, para que no titubeasen mis rodillas.
Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

»He perseguido a mis enemigos y los he destruido; no me detuve hasta aniquilarlos.
Perseguiré á mis enemigos, y quebrantarélos; y no me volveré hasta que los acabe.
I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.
I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them. I didn’t turn again until they were consumed.
Los destruí a todos para que ninguno pueda levantarse nuevamente. ¡Han caído todos bajo mis pies!
Los consumiré, y los heriré, y no se levantarán; y caerán debajo de mis pies.

Porque tú me has dado fuerzas para la batalla, y has hecho que someta a todos los que se levantaron contra mí.
Ceñísteme de fortaleza para la batalla, y postraste debajo de mí los que contra mí se levantaron.
For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.
For you have armed me with strength for the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.
Tú has hecho que mis enemigos retrocedan y huyan; he acabado con todos los que me odiaban.
Tú me diste la cerviz de mis enemigos, de mis aborrecedores, y que yo los destruyese.
Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

»Tú me has salvado de los rebeldes de mi pueblo; me has preservado como cabeza de las naciones.
Tú me libraste de contiendas de pueblos: tú me guardaste para que fuese cabeza de gentes: pueblos que no conocía, me sirvieron.
Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.
You also have delivered me from the strivings of my people. You have kept me to be the head of the nations. A people whom I have not known will serve me.
Pueblos extranjeros me sirven, y me halagan cuando oyen de mi poder.
Los extraños titubeaban á mí: en oyendo, me obedecían.
Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.
The foreigners will submit themselves to me. As soon as they hear of me, they will obey me.
Pierden todo su valor, y salen temblando de sus escondites.
Los extraños desfallecían, y temblaban en sus escondrijos.
Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.
The foreigners will fade away, and will come trembling out of their close places.
¡El Señor vive! ¡Bendita sea, mi roca! ¡Alabado sea él, que es la roca de mi salvación!
Viva Jehová, y sea bendita mi roca; sea ensalzado el Dios, la roca de mi salvamento:
The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.
The LORD lives! Blessed be my rock! Exalted be God, the rock of my salvation,
Bendito sea Dios, pues destruye a todos los que se me oponen y me libra de mis enemigos.
El Dios que me ha vengado, y sujeta los pueblos debajo de mí;
It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,
even the God who executes vengeance for me, who brings down peoples under me,
Sí, tú me levantas por encima de mis enemigos, tú me libras de su violencia.
Y que me saca de entre mis enemigos: tú me sacaste en alto de entre los que se levantaron contra mí: librásteme del varón de iniquidades.
And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
who brings me away from my enemies. Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. You deliver me from the violent man.
Por eso, Señor te daré gracias entre las naciones y cantaré alabanzas a tu nombre.
Por tanto yo te confesaré entre las gentes, oh Jehová, y cantaré á tu nombre.
Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

»El Señor da una liberación maravillosa al rey, y muestra misericordia a David, su ungido, y a su descendencia para siempre».
El que engrandece las saludes de su rey, y hace misericordia á su ungido, á David, y á su simiente, para siempre.
He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
He gives great deliverance to his king, and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his offspring, forever more.”
