Este foi o cântico de louvor ao Senhor, entoado por Davi depois de ele haver livrado o seu povo das mãos de Saul e de outros inimigos:
Y HABLÓ David á Jehová las palabras de este cántico, el día que Jehová le había librado de la mano de todos sus enemigos, y de la mano de Saúl.
And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

“O Senhor é a minha rocha, a minha fortaleza e o meu salvador.
Y dijo: Jehová es mi roca, y mi fortaleza, y mi libertador;
And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
and he said: “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine;
Eu me esconderei em Deus, que é a minha rocha e o meu refúgio. Ele é meu escudo e minha poderosa salvação. Ele é a minha torre alta, meu refúgio e meu salvador, livrando-me dos homens violentos.
Dios de mi roca, en él confiaré: mi escudo, y el cuerno de mi salud, mi fortaleza, y mi refugio; mi salvador, que me librarás de violencia.
The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

Invoco o Senhor, que é digno de ser louvado; ele me livrará de todos os meus inimigos.

As ondas da morte me cercaram; correntes de destruição me encobriram;

When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

as cordas da sepultura me amarraram, e as ciladas da morte me envolveram.
Me rodearon los dolores del infierno, y me tomaron descuidado lazos de muerte.
The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;
The cords of Sheol were around me. The snares of death caught me.
Mas na minha angústia clamei ao Senhor, clamei a Deus. E do seu templo ele me ouviu. Meu clamor chegou aos seus ouvidos.
Tuve angustia, invoqué á Jehová, y clamé á mi Dios: y él oyó mi voz desde su templo; llegó mi clamor á sus oídos.
In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.
In my distress, I called on the LORD. Yes, I called to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple. My cry came into his ears.
Então a terra se abalou e tremeu, os fundamentos dos céus se abalaram, por causa da sua ira.
La tierra se removió, y tembló; los fundamentos de los cielos fueron movidos, y se estremecieron, porque él se airó.
Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

Das suas narinas saiu fumaça; fogo consumidor e brasas vivas saíram de sua boca.

Ele fez baixar os céus e veio à terra; caminhou sobre nuvens escuras.
Y abajó los cielos, y descendió: una oscuridad debajo de sus pies.

As trevas o cercaram, e eram densas as nuvens ao seu redor.
Puso tinieblas alrededor de sí á modo de pabellones; aguas negras y espesas nubes.
And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

Pelo resplendor da sua presença acenderam-se brasas de fogo.

O Senhor trovejou dos céus; e o Altíssimo elevou a sua voz.

Ele desferiu suas setas e dispersou os seus inimigos, e com o clarão dos relâmpagos ele os fez fugir.

Pelo sopro de suas narinas apareceu o fundo do mar, e os alicerces da terra ficaram descobertos.
Entonces aparecieron los manantiales de la mar, y los fundamentos del mundo fueron descubiertos, á la reprensión de Jehová, al resoplido del aliento de su nariz.
And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

Do alto ele estendeu a mão e me amparou; salvou-me de águas profundas.
Extendió su mano de lo alto, y arrebatóme, y sacóme de copiosas aguas.
He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;
He sent from on high and he took me. He drew me out of many waters.
Livrou-me de inimigos poderosos, daqueles que me odiavam, e que eram muito mais fortes que eu.
Libróme de fuertes enemigos, de aquellos que me aborrecían, los cuales eran más fuertes que yo.
He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

Eles caíram sobre mim no dia da minha calamidade, mas o Senhor foi o meu amparo.
Asaltáronme en el día de mi calamidad; mas Jehová fué mi sostén.
They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

Ele me livrou do perigo, pois ele se agradou de mim.
Sacóme á anchura; libróme, porque puso su voluntad en mí.

O Senhor me recompensou por causa da minha honestidade, de acordo com a pureza das minhas mãos.
Remuneróme Jehová conforme á mi justicia; y conforme á la limpieza de mis manos, me dió la paga.

Guardei os caminhos do Senhor, e do meu Deus não me afastei.
Porque yo guardé los caminos de Jehová, y no me aparté impíamente de mi Dios.
For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

Das suas leis eu tomei conhecimento, e a elas eu prestei obediência.
Porque delante de mí tengo todas sus ordenanzas; y atento á sus fueros, no me retiraré de ellos.
For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

Fui inteiramente irrepreensível e guardei-me do pecado.
Y fuí íntegro para con él, y guardéme de mi iniquidad.
I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

Por isso o Senhor me abençoou de acordo com a minha honestidade, de acordo com a pureza do meu coração.
Remuneróme por tanto Jehová conforme á mi justicia, y conforme á mi limpieza delante de sus ojos.
Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

Ele é misericordioso com os misericordiosos; e íntegro com os íntegros.
Con el bueno eres benigno, y con el íntegro te muestras íntegro;
With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.
With the merciful you will show yourself merciful. With the perfect man you will show yourself perfect.
Revela a sua pureza aos que são puros; mas ao perverso o Senhor se revela astuto; e humilha os orgulhosos.
Limpio eres para con el limpio, mas con el perverso eres rígido.
With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.
With the pure you will show yourself pure. With the crooked you will show yourself shrewd.
Salva e ampara os humildes sofredores, mas humilha os orgulhosos.
Y tú salvas al pueblo humilde; mas tus ojos sobre los altivos, para abatirlos.
And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.
You will save the afflicted people, but your eyes are on the arrogant, that you may bring them down.
O Senhor é a minha luz que acaba com a escuridão da minha vida.
Porque tú eres mi lámpara, oh Jehová: Jehová da luz á mis tinieblas.
For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.
For you are my lamp, LORD. The LORD will light up my darkness.
Pelo seu poder vencerei exércitos; e com o meu Deus posso saltar muralhas.
Porque en ti romperé ejércitos, y con mi Dios saltaré las murallas.
For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.
For by you, I run against a troop. By my God, I leap over a wall.
O caminho de Deus é perfeito; a palavra do Senhor, verdadeira. Ele protege todos os que nele se refugiam.
Dios, perfecto su camino: la palabra de Jehová purificada, escudo es de todos los que en él esperan.
As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.
As for God, his way is perfect. The LORD’s word is tested. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.
Pois quem é Deus, senão o Senhor? E quem é rocha, senão o nosso Deus?
Porque ¿qué Dios hay sino Jehová? ¿ó quién es fuerte sino nuestro Dios?
For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?
For who is God, besides the LORD? Who is a rock, besides our God?
Deus é minha fortaleza e minha força; ele me traz a salvo.
Dios es el que con virtud me corrobora, y el que despeja mi camino;
God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.
God is my strong fortress. He makes my way perfect.
Ele torna os meus pés como os pés das cabras dos montes, e firma os meus passos sobre as rochas.
El que hace mis pies como de ciervas, y el que me asienta en mis alturas;
He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places.
He makes his feet like hinds’ feet, and sets me on my high places.
Ele me dá agilidade na guerra, de modo que os meus braços têm força para vergar um arco de bronze.
El que enseña mis manos para la pelea, y da que con mis brazos quiebre el arco de acero.
He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
He teaches my hands to war, so that my arms bend a bow of bronze.
O Senhor me dá o escudo de sua salvação; e a sua bondade me engrandeceu.
Tú me diste asimismo el escudo de tu salud, y tu benignidad me ha acrecentado.
Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.
You have also given me the shield of your salvation. Your gentleness has made me great.
Alonga os meus passos para que os meus pés não vacilem.
Tú ensanchaste mis pasos debajo de mí, para que no titubeasen mis rodillas.
Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.
You have enlarged my steps under me. My feet have not slipped.
Persegui os meus inimigos e os destruí, sem deixar um sequer.
Perseguiré á mis enemigos, y quebrantarélos; y no me volveré hasta que los acabe.
I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

Debaixo dos meus pés, derrubei todos os meus inimigos; e não puderam levantar-se.
Los consumiré, y los heriré, y no se levantarán; y caerán debajo de mis pies.
And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

Pois o Senhor me deu força na batalha e poder para derrotar os que contra mim se levantaram.
Ceñísteme de fortaleza para la batalla, y postraste debajo de mí los que contra mí se levantaron.
For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.
For you have armed me with strength for the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.
Pôs os meus inimigos a correr; e destruí todos os que me odiavam.
Tú me diste la cerviz de mis enemigos, de mis aborrecedores, y que yo los destruyese.
Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.
You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me.
Eles clamaram em vão por auxílio; clamaram ao Senhor, mas ele não atendeu.
Miraron, y no hubo quien los librase; á Jehová, mas no les respondió.
They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

Então eu os esmaguei e os transformei em pó; espalhados eles foram, como o pó que se espalha pelas ruas.
Yo los desmenuzaré como polvo de la tierra; hollarélos como á lodo de las plazas, y los disiparé.
Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.

O Senhor me tem preservado dos rebeldes do meu povo; e colocou-me como líder das nações! Até mesmo um povo que eu não conhecia me servirá.
Tú me libraste de contiendas de pueblos: tú me guardaste para que fuese cabeza de gentes: pueblos que no conocía, me sirvieron.
Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.
You also have delivered me from the strivings of my people. You have kept me to be the head of the nations. A people whom I have not known will serve me.
Estrangeiros se submetem a mim ao ouvirem a minha voz e ouvirem falar do meu poder.
Los extraños titubeaban á mí: en oyendo, me obedecían.
Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.
The foreigners will submit themselves to me. As soon as they hear of me, they will obey me.
Eles perdem a coragem; os estrangeiros saem tremendo dos seus esconderijos.
Los extraños desfallecían, y temblaban en sus escondrijos.
Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.
The foreigners will fade away, and will come trembling out of their close places.
O Senhor vive! Abençoada seja a minha Rocha. Louvado seja Deus, a Rocha da minha salvação!
Viva Jehová, y sea bendita mi roca; sea ensalzado el Dios, la roca de mi salvamento:
The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.
The LORD lives! Blessed be my rock! Exalted be God, the rock of my salvation,
Este é o Deus que se vinga contra os meus inimigos, que sujeita os povos debaixo do meu poder,
El Dios que me ha vengado, y sujeta los pueblos debajo de mí;
It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,
even the God who executes vengeance for me, who brings down peoples under me,
e me livra dos meus inimigos; o Senhor me engrandeceu e me exaltou sobre os meus adversários; livrou-me de homens violentos.
Y que me saca de entre mis enemigos: tú me sacaste en alto de entre los que se levantaron contra mí: librásteme del varón de iniquidades.
And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
who brings me away from my enemies. Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. You deliver me from the violent man.
Graças dou, ó Senhor! O seu nome será louvado entre as nações.
Por tanto yo te confesaré entre las gentes, oh Jehová, y cantaré á tu nombre.
Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.
Therefore I will give thanks to you, LORD, among the nations, and will sing praises to your name.
O Senhor deu vitórias maravilhosas ao seu rei; e cobriu de misericórdia o seu escolhido, com Davi e toda a sua casa para sempre”.
El que engrandece las saludes de su rey, y hace misericordia á su ungido, á David, y á su simiente, para siempre.
He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
He gives great deliverance to his king, and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his offspring, forever more.”
