2 Samuel 23

And these are the last words of David. Thus saith David the son of Jesse, and thus saith the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet singer of Israel:

The Spirit of the Lord spoke through me, and his word was upon my tongue.

El espíritu de Jehová ha hablado por mí, y su palabra ha sido en mi lengua.

“The LORD’s Spirit spoke by me. His word was on my tongue.

Thus said the God of Israel, concerning me spoke the Rock of Israel, That I should be ruler over men, be righteous, ruling in the fear of God;

El Dios de Israel ha dicho, hablóme el Fuerte de Israel: El señoreador de los hombres será justo, señoreador en temor de Dios.

The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

And as in the light of morning the sun riseth, in a morning without clouds, with more than the brightness reflected by rain on the herbs that spring from the earth.

Será como la luz de la mañana cuando sale el sol, de la mañana sin nubes; cuando la hierba de la tierra brota por medio del resplandor después de la lluvia.

And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.

Truly is not so my house with God? since he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, firm in all, and sure? yea, will he not cause to grow all my salvation, and all my desire?

No así mi casa para con Dios: sin embargo él ha hecho conmigo pacto perpetuo, ordenado en todas las cosas, y será guardado; bien que toda esta mi salud, y todo mi deseo no lo haga él florecer todavía.

Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.

Isn’t my house so with God? Yet he has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure, for it is all my salvation and all my desire. Won’t he make it grow?

But the godless are all of them as waving thorns, which cannot be taken in the hand;

But the man that will touch them must protect his hand with iron and the staff of a spear: and they will be utterly burnt with fire in the dwelling.

Sino que el que quiere tocar en ellas, ármase de hierro y de asta de lanza, y son quemadas en su lugar.

These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Yosheb–bashebeth, the Thachkemonite, the chief among the captains,––the same as ‘Adino the ‘Eznite,––because of eight hundred slain at one time.

Estos son los nombres de los valientes que tuvo David: El Tachmonita, que se sentaba en cátedra, principal de los capitanes: era éste Adino el Eznita, que mató en una ocasión sobre ochocientos hombres.

These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.

And after him was El’azar the son of Dodo, the son of Achochi, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel had withdrawn themselves;

Después de éste, Eleazar, hijo de Dodo de Ahohi, fué de los tres valientes que estaban con David, cuando desafiaron á los Filisteos que se habían juntado allí á la batalla, y subieron los de Israel.

And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:

Este, levantándose, hirió á los Filisteos hasta que su mano se cansó, y quedósele contraída á la espada. Aquel día Jehová hizo gran salud: y volvióse el pueblo en pos de él solamente á tomar el despojo.

Después de éste fué Samma, hijo de Age Araita: que habiéndose juntado los Filisteos en una aldea, había allí una suerte de tierra llena de lentejas, y el pueblo había huído delante de los Filisteos:

And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.

El entonces se paró en medio de la suerte de tierra, y defendióla, é hirió á los Filisteos; y Jehová hizo una gran salud.

Y tres de los treinta principales descendieron y vinieron en tiempo de la siega á David á la cueva de Adullam: y el campo de los Filisteos estaba en el valle de Raphaim.

David said longingly, “Oh that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!”

And the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines; and drew water out of the well of Beth–lechem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David; but he would not drink thereof, and poured it out unto the Lord.

Entonces los tres valientes rompieron por el campo de los Filisteos, y sacaron agua de la cisterna de Beth-lehem, que estaba á la puerta; y tomaron, y trajéronla á David: mas él no la quiso beber, sino derramóla á Jehová, diciendo:

And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.

And he said, Far be it from me, O Lord, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went at the risk of their life? and thus he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.

Lejos sea de mí, oh Jehová, que yo haga esto. ¿He de beber yo la sangre de los varones que fueron con peligro de su vida? Y no quiso beberla. Los tres valientes hicieron esto.

And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.

He said, “Be it far from me, LORD, that I should do this! Isn’t this the blood of the men who risked their lives to go?” Therefore he would not drink it. The three mighty men did these things.

And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruyah, was the chief of these three; and he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain, and had a name among the three.

Y Abisai hermano de Joab, hijo de Sarvia, fué el principal de los tres; el cual alzó su lanza contra trescientos, que mató; y tuvo nombre entre los tres.

And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.

Although he was the most honored of the three, wherefore he became their captain: he nevertheless attained not unto the three in prowess.

El era el más aventajado de los tres, y el primero de ellos; mas no llegó á los tres primeros.

Was he not most honourable of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the first three.

Wasn’t he most honorable of the three? Therefore he was made their captain. However he wasn’t included as one of the three.

And Benayahu the son of Yehoyada’, the son of a valiant man, great in many acts of Kabzeel; he it was that smote the two lion–like heroes of Moab; he also went down and slew a lion in the midst of a pit on a day when it snowed;

Después, Benaía hijo de Joiada, hijo de un varón esforzado, grande en hechos, de Cabseel. Este hirió dos leones de Moab: y él mismo descendió, é hirió un león en medio de un foso en el tiempo de la nieve:

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:

And he slew an Egyptian, a man of good appearance; and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and he snatched the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.

También hirió él á un Egipcio, hombre de grande estatura: y tenía el Egipcio una lanza en su mano; mas descendió á él con un palo, y arrebató al Egipcio la lanza de la mano, y matólo con su propia lanza.

And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.
