Entonces los hombres de Judá fueron a Hebrón y allí ungieron a David como rey sobre la casa de Judá. También le informaron a David: “Fueron los hombres de Jabes de Galaad quienes enterraron a Saúl”.

Y vinieron los varones de Judá, y ungieron allí á David por rey sobre la casa de Judá. Y dieron aviso á David, diciendo: Los de Jabes de Galaad son los que sepultaron á Saúl.
