Mientras tanto, Abner consultó con los dirigentes de Israel y les recordó que por largo tiempo ellos habían querido que David fuera su rey.

Y habló Abner con los ancianos de Israel, diciendo: Ayer y antes procurabais que David fuese rey sobre vosotros;
