2 Samuel 3

Esse foi o começo de uma longa guerra entre os seguidores de Saul e os de Davi. Entretanto, o reino de Davi ficava cada vez mais forte, enquanto o reino de Saul se tornava cada vez mais fraco.

Y HUBO larga guerra entre la casa de Saúl y la casa de David; mas David se iba fortificando, y la casa de Saúl iba en disminución.

Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.

Now there was long war between Saul’s house and David’s house. David grew stronger and stronger, but Saul’s house grew weaker and weaker.

Enquanto Davi estava em Hebrom nasceram-lhe seis filhos. O primeiro chamava-se Amnom, e era filho de Ainoã, de Jezreel;

And unto David were sons born in Hebron: and his firstborn was Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess;

o segundo foi Quileabe, filho de Abigail, a viúva de Nabal, o carmelita; o terceiro, Absalão, filho de Maaca, filha de Talmai, rei de Gesur;

e o sexto, Itreão, filho de Eglá. Esses foram os filhos de Davi que nasceram em Hebrom.

À medida que a guerra continuava entre o reino de Saul e o reino de Davi, Abner foi se tornando cada vez mais poderoso como chefe do exército de Saul.

Y como había guerra entre la casa de Saúl y la de David, aconteció que Abner se esforzaba por la casa de Saúl.

And it came to pass, while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner made himself strong for the house of Saul.

While there was war between Saul’s house and David’s house, Abner made himself strong in Saul’s house.

Abner, abusando da sua posição, tomou para si uma jovem chamada Rispa, filha de Aia, que era uma das concubinas de Saul. Quando Is-Bosete soube disso, perguntou a Abner: “Por que você teve relações com a concubina do meu pai?”

Y había Saúl tenido una concubina que se llamaba Rispa, hija de Aja. Y dijo Is-boseth á Abner: ¿Por qué has entrado á la concubina de mi padre?

And Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah: and Ish-bosheth said to Abner, Wherefore hast thou gone in unto my father’s concubine?

Now Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah; and Ishbosheth said to Abner, “Why have you gone in to my father’s concubine?”

Abner não gostou da pergunta e ficou furioso com Is-Bosete, e exclamou: “Por acaso sou um cão que pertence a Judá para ser tratado dessa maneira? Tenho sido fiel à família de Saul, seu pai, aos seus irmãos e amigos, e não permiti que caíssem nas mãos de Davi. É essa a recompensa que recebo? É justo que você me chame a atenção por causa dessa mulher?

Y enojóse Abner en gran manera por las palabras de Is-boseth, y dijo: ¿Soy yo cabeza de perros respecto de Judá? Yo he hecho hoy misericordia con la casa de Saúl tu padre, con sus hermanos, y con sus amigos, y no te he entregado en las manos de David: ¿y tú me haces hoy cargo del pecado de esta mujer?

Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ish-bosheth, and said, Am I a dog’s head, which against Judah do shew kindness this day unto the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou chargest me to day with a fault concerning this woman?

Then Abner was very angry about Ishbosheth’s words, and said, “Am I a dog’s head that belongs to Judah? Today I show kindness to your father Saul’s house, to his brothers, and to his friends, and have not delivered you into the hand of David; and yet you charge me today with a fault concerning this woman!

Deus é testemunha se eu não fizer por Davi o que o Senhor jurou fazer:

Así haga Dios á Abner y así le añada, si como ha jurado Jehová á David no hiciere yo así con él,

So do God to Abner, and more also, except, as the LORD hath sworn to David, even so I do to him;

God do so to Abner, and more also, if, as the LORD has sworn to David, I don’t do even so to him:

transferir o reino da família de Saul e estabelecer o trono de Davi, tanto sobre Israel quanto sobre Judá, desde Dã até Berseba”.

Trasladando el reino de la casa de Saúl, y confirmando el trono de David sobre Israel y sobre Judá, desde Dan hasta Beer-sebah.

To translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beer-sheba.

Is-Bosete nada respondeu, pois teve medo das palavras de Abner.

Y él no pudo responder palabra á Abner, porque le temía.

And he could not answer Abner a word again, because he feared him.

He could not answer Abner another word, because he was afraid of him.

Então Abner mandou mensageiros a Davi, com a seguinte proposta: “De quem é esta terra? Faça um acordo comigo, e eu o ajudarei a obter o apoio de todo o povo de Israel”.

Y envió Abner mensajeros á David de su parte, diciendo: ¿Cúya es la tierra? Y que le dijesen: Haz alianza conmigo, y he aquí que mi mano será contigo para volver á ti á todo Israel.

And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose is the land? saying also, Make thy league with me, and, behold, my hand shall be with thee, to bring about all Israel unto thee.

Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, “Whose is the land?” and saying, “Make your alliance with me, and behold, my hand will be with you to bring all Israel around to you.”

“Muito bem”, respondeu Davi. “Farei o acordo com você, mediante uma condição: Quero que me traga minha esposa Mical, filha de Saul”.

Y David dijo: Bien; yo haré contigo alianza: mas una cosa te pido, y es, que no me vengas á ver sin que primero traigas á Michâl la hija de Saúl, cuando vinieres á verme.

And he said, Well; I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal Saul’s daughter, when thou comest to see my face.

David said, “Good. I will make a treaty with you, but one thing I require of you. That is, you will not see my face unless you first bring Michal, Saul’s daughter, when you come to see my face.”

E Davi mandou este recado para Is-Bosete, filho de Saul: “Mande-me de volta minha mulher Mical, com quem me casei em troca da vida de cem filisteus”.

Después de esto envió David mensajeros á Is-boseth hijo de Saúl, diciendo: Restitúyeme á mi mujer Michâl, la cual yo desposé conmigo por cien prepucios de Filisteos.

And David sent messengers to Ish-bosheth Saul’s son, saying, Deliver me my wife Michal, which I espoused to me for an hundred foreskins of the Philistines.

David sent messengers to Ishbosheth, Saul’s son, saying, “Deliver me my wife Michal, whom I was given to marry for one hundred foreskins of the Philistines.”

Então Is-Bosete tirou Mical de seu marido Paltiel, filho de Laís, e a enviou a Davi.

Entonces Is-boseth envió, y quitóla á su marido Paltiel, hijo de Lais.

And Ish-bosheth sent, and took her from her husband, even from Phaltiel the son of Laish.

Ishbosheth sent and took her from her husband, Paltiel the son of Laish.

Paltiel, chorando, acompanhou a sua mulher até Baurim. Então Abner lhe disse: “Volte para casa agora, Paltiel”. E ele voltou.

Y su marido fué con ella, siguiéndola y llorando hasta Bahurim. Y díjole Abner: Anda, vuélvete. Entonces él se volvió.

And her husband went with her along weeping behind her to Bahurim. Then said Abner unto him, Go, return. And he returned.

Her husband went with her, weeping as he went, and followed her to Bahurim. Then Abner said to him, “Go! Return!” and he returned.

Abner havia conversado com os chefes de Israel lembrando-os do seguinte: “Há muito tempo vocês têm desejado que Davi seja o rei de vocês.

Y habló Abner con los ancianos de Israel, diciendo: Ayer y antes procurabais que David fuese rey sobre vosotros;

And Abner had communication with the elders of Israel, saying, Ye sought for David in times past to be king over you:

Chegou a hora, porque o Senhor prometeu a Davi: ‘Por meio de Davi vou livrar o meu povo das mãos dos filisteus e de quaisquer outros inimigos’ ”.

Ahora, pues, hacedlo; porque Jehová ha hablado á David, diciendo: Por la mano de mi siervo David libraré á mi pueblo Israel de mano de los Filisteos, y de mano de todos sus enemigos.

Now then do it: for the LORD hath spoken of David, saying, By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.

Now then do it! For the LORD has spoken of David, saying, ‘By the hand of my servant David, I will save my people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.’”

Abner conversou também com os chefes da tribo de Benjamim. Depois foi a Hebrom relatar a Davi a boa vontade que havia conseguido do povo de Israel e de Benjamim.

Y habló también Abner á los de Benjamín: y fué también Abner á Hebrón á decir á David todo el parecer de los de Israel y de toda la casa de Benjamín.

And Abner also spake in the ears of Benjamin: and Abner went also to speak in the ears of David in Hebron all that seemed good to Israel, and that seemed good to the whole house of Benjamin.

Abner veio acompanhado de vinte homens, e Davi os recebeu com um grande banquete.

Vino pues Abner á David en Hebrón, y con él veinte hombres: y David hizo banquete á Abner y á los que con él habían venido.

So Abner came to David to Hebron, and twenty men with him. And David made Abner and the men that were with him a feast.

Então Abner disse a Davi: “Prometo que reunirei todo o povo de Israel, e o senhor será feito rei, conforme sempre desejou”. E Davi se despediu de Abner, e ele voltou em paz.

Y dijo Abner á David: Yo me levantaré é iré, y juntaré á mi señor el rey á todo Israel, para que hagan contigo alianza, y tú reines como deseas. David despidió luego á Abner, y él se fué en paz.

And Abner said unto David, I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel unto my lord the king, that they may make a league with thee, and that thou mayest reign over all that thine heart desireth. And David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.

Abner said to David, “I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel to my lord the king, that they may make a covenant with you, and that you may reign over all that your soul desires.” David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.

Logo depois que Abner partiu em paz, Joabe e os soldados de Davi voltaram de um ataque, trazendo com eles muita coisa que conseguiram tomar do inimigo.

Y he aquí los siervos de David y Joab, que venían del campo, y traían consigo gran presa. Mas Abner no estaba con David en Hebrón, que ya lo había él despedido, y él se había ido en paz.

And, behold, the servants of David and Joab came from pursuing a troop, and brought in a great spoil with them: but Abner was not with David in Hebron; for he had sent him away, and he was gone in peace.

Behold, David’s servants and Joab came from a raid and brought in a great plunder with them; but Abner was not with David in Hebron, for he had sent him away, and he had gone in peace.

Quando Joabe chegou com todo o seu exército e soube que Abner havia estado com o rei Davi, e que havia voltado em paz,

Y luego que llegó Joab y todo el ejército que con él estaba, fué dado aviso á Joab, diciendo: Abner hijo de Ner ha venido al rey, y él le ha despedido, y se fué en paz.

When Joab and all the host that was with him were come, they told Joab, saying, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he hath sent him away, and he is gone in peace.

When Joab and all the army who was with him had come, they told Joab, “Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he has sent him away, and he has gone in peace.”

procurou imediatamente o rei, e perguntou: “O que foi que o senhor fez? Por que o senhor deixou Abner ir embora em paz?

Entonces Joab vino al rey, y díjole: ¿Qué has hecho? He aquí habíase venido Abner á ti: ¿por qué pues lo dejaste que se fuése?

Then Joab came to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold, Abner came unto thee; why is it that thou hast sent him away, and he is quite gone?

Then Joab came to the king and said, “What have you done? Behold, Abner came to you. Why is it that you have sent him away, and he is already gone?

Sabe perfeitamente que ele veio aqui como espião, para nos sondar! É certo que ele vai voltar para nos atacar!”

¿Sabes tú que Abner hijo de Ner ha venido para engañarte, y á saber tu salida y tu entrada, y por entender todo lo que tú haces?

Thou knowest Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive thee, and to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou doest.

You know Abner the son of Ner. He came to deceive you, and to know your going out and your coming in, and to know all that you do.”

Quando Joabe saiu da presença de Davi, mandou mensageiros atrás de Abner, dizendo a ele para voltar. Os mensageiros alcançaram Abner perto do poço de Sirá e o trouxeram de volta à presença de Joabe sem que Davi soubesse.

Y saliéndose Joab de con David, envió mensajeros tras Abner, los cuales le volvieron desde el pozo de Sira, sin saberlo David.

And when Joab was come out from David, he sent messengers after Abner, which brought him again from the well of Sirah: but David knew it not.

When Joab had come out from David, he sent messengers after Abner, and they brought him back from the well of Sirah; but David didn’t know it.

Quando Abner chegou a Hebrom, Joabe o chamou para um lado, perto do portão da cidade, como se tivesse um assunto particular a tratar com ele, e ali mesmo o feriu na barriga, matando-o. Joabe agiu dessa forma para vingar a morte de Asael, seu irmão, a quem Abner tinha matado.

Y como Abner volvió á Hebrón, apartólo Joab al medio de la puerta, hablando con él blandamente, y allí le hirió por la quinta costilla, á causa de la muerte de Asael su hermano, y murió.

And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him quietly, and smote him there under the fifth rib, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.

When Abner had returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into the middle of the gate to speak with him quietly, and struck him there in the body, so that he died for the blood of Asahel his brother.

Quando Davi soube do acontecido, declarou: “Deus sabe que eu e meu povo não tomamos parte nesse crime praticado contra Abner, filho de Ner.

Cuando David supo después esto, dijo: Limpio estoy yo y mi reino, por Jehová, para siempre, de la sangre de Abner hijo de Ner.

And afterward when David heard it, he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before the LORD for ever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner:

Joabe e toda a família de seu pai são os culpados. Que a sua família e todas as gerações sejam castigadas com fluxo, lepra, que usem muletas; que haja mortes pela espada ou que necessitem de pão!”

Caiga sobre la cabeza de Joab, y sobre toda la casa de su padre; que nunca falte de la casa de Joab quien padezca flujo, ni leproso, ni quien ande con báculo, ni quien muera á cuchillo, ni quien tenga falta de pan.

Let it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father’s house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword, or that lacketh bread.

Let it fall on the head of Joab and on all his father’s house. Let there not fail from the house of Joab one who has a discharge, or who is a leper, or who leans on a staff, or who falls by the sword, or who lacks bread.”

Joabe e seu irmão Abisai foram, pois, responsáveis pela morte de Abner. Eles vingaram a morte do irmão Asael na batalha de Gibeom.

Joab pues y Abisai su hermano mataron á Abner, porque él había muerto á Asael, hermano de ellos en la batalla de Gabaón.

So Joab and Abishai his brother slew Abner, because he had slain their brother Asahel at Gibeon in the battle.

Então Davi ordenou a Joabe e a todos os que estavam com ele: “Rasguem suas roupas, vistam roupas de luto, vão à frente do cortejo fúnebre e chorem e lamentem a morte de Abner”. E o rei Davi também acompanhou o enterro.

Entonces dijo David á Joab, y á todo el pueblo que con él estaba: Romped vuestros vestidos, y ceñíos de sacos, y haced duelo delante de Abner. Y el rey iba detrás del féretro.

And David said to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Rend your clothes, and gird you with sackcloth, and mourn before Abner. And king David himself followed the bier.

David said to Joab and to all the people who were with him, “Tear your clothes, and clothe yourselves with sackcloth, and mourn in front of Abner.” King David followed the bier.

Abner foi sepultado em Hebrom. O rei levantou a voz e chorou ao lado da sepultura de Abner, e todo o povo fez o mesmo.

Y sepultaron á Abner en Hebrón: y alzando el rey su voz, lloró junto al sepulcro de Abner; y lloró también todo el pueblo.

And they buried Abner in Hebron: and the king lifted up his voice, and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the people wept.

O rei expressou este lamento por Abner: “Ó Abner! Por que era preciso que você morresse como morrem os perversos?

Y endechando el rey al mismo Abner, decía: ¿Murió Abner como muere un villano?

And the king lamented over Abner, and said, Died Abner as a fool dieth?

The king lamented for Abner, and said, “Should Abner die as a fool dies?

Suas mãos não estavam atadas, nem os seus pés estavam acorrentados. Você caiu como alguém que é morto pelos filhos da maldade, vítima de uma traição”. E todo o povo chorou novamente a morte de Abner.

Tus manos no estaban atadas, ni tus pies ligados con grillos: caíste como los que caen delante de malos hombres. Y todo el pueblo volvió á llorar sobre él.

Thy hands were not bound, nor thy feet put into fetters: as a man falleth before wicked men, so fellest thou. And all the people wept again over him.

Your hands weren’t bound, and your feet weren’t put into fetters. As a man falls before the children of iniquity, so you fell.” All the people wept again over him.

No dia do sepultamento, o povo insistiu para que Davi comesse alguma coisa antes que o dia terminasse. Porém Davi não aceitou e fez este juramento: “Que Deus me castigue com todo o rigor se eu comer alguma coisa antes do pôr do sol!”

Y como todo el pueblo viniese á dar de comer pan á David siendo aún de día, David juró, diciendo: Así me haga Dios y así me añada, si antes que se ponga el sol gustare yo pan, ú otra cualquier cosa.

And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware, saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.

All the people came to urge David to eat bread while it was yet day; but David swore, saying, “God do so to me, and more also, if I taste bread or anything else, until the sun goes down.”

Todos os que ouviram isso concordaram com ele; aliás, tudo o que o rei fazia parecia certo aos olhos de todos!

Súpolo así todo el pueblo, y plugo en sus ojos; porque todo lo que el rey hacía parecía bien en ojos de todo el pueblo.

And all the people took notice of it, and it pleased them: as whatsoever the king did pleased all the people.

Assim todos os seguidores de Davi e todo o povo de Israel, pela atitude de Davi, imediatamente entenderam que ele não tinha tomado parte no assassinato de Abner, filho de Ner.

Y todo el pueblo y todo Israel entendieron aquel día, que no había venido del rey que Abner hijo de Ner muriese.

For all the people and all Israel understood that day that it was not of the king to slay Abner the son of Ner.

Davi disse aos seus oficiais: “Vocês não percebem que um grande homem e um grande líder caiu hoje em Israel

Y el rey dijo á sus siervos: ¿No sabéis que ha caído hoy en Israel un príncipe, y grande?

And the king said unto his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?

The king said to his servants, “Don’t you know that a prince and a great man has fallen today in Israel?

e, mesmo sendo eu um rei escolhido por Deus, nada posso fazer contra esses dois filhos de Zeruia? Que o Senhor retribua ao malfeitor de acordo com a sua maldade”.

Que yo ahora aun soy tierno rey ungido; y estos hombres, los hijos de Sarvia, muy duros me son: Jehová dé el pago al que mal hace, conforme á su malicia.

And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah be too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.

I am weak today, though anointed king. These men, the sons of Zeruiah are too hard for me. May the LORD reward the evildoer according to his wickedness.”
