Und es war ein langer Krieg zwischen dem Hause Sauls und dem Hause Davids. Und David wurde immerfort stärker, das Haus Sauls aber ward immerfort schwächer.

Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.

Und David wurden in Hebron Söhne geboren. Sein Erstgeborener war Amnon von Achinoam, der Jesreelitin;

Solange nun der Krieg zwischen dem Hause Sauls und dem Hause Davids dauerte, hielt Abner fest am Hause Sauls.

Y como había guerra entre la casa de Saúl y la de David, aconteció que Abner se esforzaba por la casa de Saúl.

And it came to pass, while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner made himself strong for the house of Saul.

While there was war between Saul’s house and David’s house, Abner made himself strong in Saul’s house.

Nun hatte Saul ein Kebsweib gehabt, die hieß Rizpa, eine Tochter Ajas. Und Ischboset sprach zu Abner: Warum bist du zu meines Vaters Kebsweibe gegangen?

Y había Saúl tenido una concubina que se llamaba Rispa, hija de Aja. Y dijo Is-boseth á Abner: ¿Por qué has entrado á la concubina de mi padre?

And Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah: and Ish-bosheth said to Abner, Wherefore hast thou gone in unto my father’s concubine?

Now Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah; and Ishbosheth said to Abner, “Why have you gone in to my father’s concubine?”

Da ward Abner sehr zornig über diese Worte Ischbosets und sprach: Bin ich denn ein Hundskopf, der ich heute, Juda zuleide, Barmherzigkeit erweise an dem Hause deines Vaters Saul und an seinen Brüdern und an seinen Freunden und dich nicht in die Hand Davids geraten ließ? Und du wirfst mir heute ein Vergehen mit diesem Weibe vor?

Y enojóse Abner en gran manera por las palabras de Is-boseth, y dijo: ¿Soy yo cabeza de perros respecto de Judá? Yo he hecho hoy misericordia con la casa de Saúl tu padre, con sus hermanos, y con sus amigos, y no te he entregado en las manos de David: ¿y tú me haces hoy cargo del pecado de esta mujer?

Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ish-bosheth, and said, Am I a dog’s head, which against Judah do shew kindness this day unto the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou chargest me to day with a fault concerning this woman?

Then Abner was very angry about Ishbosheth’s words, and said, “Am I a dog’s head that belongs to Judah? Today I show kindness to your father Saul’s house, to his brothers, and to his friends, and have not delivered you into the hand of David; and yet you charge me today with a fault concerning this woman!

So do God to Abner, and more also, except, as the LORD hath sworn to David, even so I do to him;

daß das Königreich vom Hause Sauls genommen und der Thron Davids aufgerichtet werde über Israel und über Juda, von Dan bis gen Beerseba!

To translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beer-sheba.

Da konnte er Abner kein Wort mehr antworten, so fürchtete er sich vor ihm.

Y él no pudo responder palabra á Abner, porque le temía.

And he could not answer Abner a word again, because he feared him.

Und Abner sandte auf der Stelle Boten zu David und ließ ihm sagen: Wem gehört das Land? Mache einen Bund mit mir! Siehe, meine Hand soll mit dir sein, daß ich ganz Israel zu dir kehre!

Y envió Abner mensajeros á David de su parte, diciendo: ¿Cúya es la tierra? Y que le dijesen: Haz alianza conmigo, y he aquí que mi mano será contigo para volver á ti á todo Israel.

And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose is the land? saying also, Make thy league with me, and, behold, my hand shall be with thee, to bring about all Israel unto thee.

Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, “Whose is the land?” and saying, “Make your alliance with me, and behold, my hand will be with you to bring all Israel around to you.”

Er sprach: Wohlan! ich will einen Bund mit dir machen; aber eines erbitte ich von dir, daß du mein Angesicht nicht sehest, du bringest denn zu mir Michal, die Tochter Sauls, wenn du kommst, mein Angesicht zu sehen!

Y David dijo: Bien; yo haré contigo alianza: mas una cosa te pido, y es, que no me vengas á ver sin que primero traigas á Michâl la hija de Saúl, cuando vinieres á verme.

And he said, Well; I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal Saul’s daughter, when thou comest to see my face.

David said, “Good. I will make a treaty with you, but one thing I require of you. That is, you will not see my face unless you first bring Michal, Saul’s daughter, when you come to see my face.”

David sandte auch Boten zu Ischboset, dem Sohne Sauls, und ließ ihm sagen: Gib mir mein Weib Michal, die ich mir um hundert Vorhäute der Philister zum Weibe erkauft habe!

Después de esto envió David mensajeros á Is-boseth hijo de Saúl, diciendo: Restitúyeme á mi mujer Michâl, la cual yo desposé conmigo por cien prepucios de Filisteos.

And David sent messengers to Ish-bosheth Saul’s son, saying, Deliver me my wife Michal, which I espoused to me for an hundred foreskins of the Philistines.

David sent messengers to Ishbosheth, Saul’s son, saying, “Deliver me my wife Michal, whom I was given to marry for one hundred foreskins of the Philistines.”

Ischboset sandte hin und ließ sie von ihrem Mann Phaltiel, dem Sohne des Lais, nehmen.

And Ish-bosheth sent, and took her from her husband, even from Phaltiel the son of Laish.

Und ihr Mann ging mit ihr und weinte stets hinter ihr her bis gen Bachurim. Abner aber sprach zu ihm: Geh und kehre um! Da kehrte er um.

Y su marido fué con ella, siguiéndola y llorando hasta Bahurim. Y díjole Abner: Anda, vuélvete. Entonces él se volvió.

And her husband went with her along weeping behind her to Bahurim. Then said Abner unto him, Go, return. And he returned.

Und Abner hielt eine Rede an die Ältesten von Israel und sprach: Ihr habt je und je darnach getrachtet, daß David euer König werde. So führt es nun aus!

Y habló Abner con los ancianos de Israel, diciendo: Ayer y antes procurabais que David fuese rey sobre vosotros;

And Abner had communication with the elders of Israel, saying, Ye sought for David in times past to be king over you:

Denn der HERR hat von David gesagt: Ich will mein Volk Israel durch die Hand meines Knechtes David erretten aus der Hand der Philister und aus der Hand aller ihrer Feinde!

Ahora, pues, hacedlo; porque Jehová ha hablado á David, diciendo: Por la mano de mi siervo David libraré á mi pueblo Israel de mano de los Filisteos, y de mano de todos sus enemigos.

Now then do it: for the LORD hath spoken of David, saying, By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.

Gleiches redete Abner vor den Ohren der Benjaminiter. Darnach ging Abner auch hin, vor den Ohren Davids in Hebron zu reden alles, was Israel und dem ganzen Hause Benjamin wohlgefiel.

Y habló también Abner á los de Benjamín: y fué también Abner á Hebrón á decir á David todo el parecer de los de Israel y de toda la casa de Benjamín.

And Abner also spake in the ears of Benjamin: and Abner went also to speak in the ears of David in Hebron all that seemed good to Israel, and that seemed good to the whole house of Benjamin.

Als nun Abner mit zwanzig Männern zu David nach Hebron kam, bereitete David Abner und den Männern, die bei ihm waren, ein Mahl.

And Abner said unto David, I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel unto my lord the king, that they may make a league with thee, and that thou mayest reign over all that thine heart desireth. And David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.

Und siehe, die Knechte Davids und Joab kamen von einem Streifzug und brachten viel Beute mit sich. Aber Abner war nicht mehr bei David zu Hebron, sondern er hatte ihn entlassen, so daß er in Frieden weggezogen war.

Y he aquí los siervos de David y Joab, que venían del campo, y traían consigo gran presa. Mas Abner no estaba con David en Hebrón, que ya lo había él despedido, y él se había ido en paz.

And, behold, the servants of David and Joab came from pursuing a troop, and brought in a great spoil with them: but Abner was not with David in Hebron; for he had sent him away, and he was gone in peace.

Als nun Joab mit dem ganzen Heere kam, teilte man Joab mit: Abner, der Sohn Ners, ist zum König gekommen, und er hat ihn entlassen, so daß er in Frieden fortgegangen ist!

Y luego que llegó Joab y todo el ejército que con él estaba, fué dado aviso á Joab, diciendo: Abner hijo de Ner ha venido al rey, y él le ha despedido, y se fué en paz.

When Joab and all the host that was with him were come, they told Joab, saying, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he hath sent him away, and he is gone in peace.

Da ging Joab zum König hinein und sprach: Was hast du getan? Siehe, Abner ist zu dir gekommen! Warum hast du ihn ziehen lassen, daß er gehen kann, wohin er will?

Entonces Joab vino al rey, y díjole: ¿Qué has hecho? He aquí habíase venido Abner á ti: ¿por qué pues lo dejaste que se fuése?

Then Joab came to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold, Abner came unto thee; why is it that thou hast sent him away, and he is quite gone?

Then Joab came to the king and said, “What have you done? Behold, Abner came to you. Why is it that you have sent him away, and he is already gone?

Du kennst doch Abner, den Sohn Ners; der ist gekommen, dich zu überlisten und deinen Ausgang und deinen Eingang zu erkennen und alles zu erkunden, was du tust!

¿Sabes tú que Abner hijo de Ner ha venido para engañarte, y á saber tu salida y tu entrada, y por entender todo lo que tú haces?

Thou knowest Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive thee, and to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou doest.

You know Abner the son of Ner. He came to deceive you, and to know your going out and your coming in, and to know all that you do.”

Und als Joab von David hinausging, sandte er Abner Boten nach, um ihn vom Brunnen Sira zurückzuholen. Aber David wußte nichts davon.

And when Joab was come out from David, he sent messengers after Abner, which brought him again from the well of Sirah: but David knew it not.

Als nun Abner wieder gen Hebron kam, führte ihn Joab mitten unter das Tor, um in der Stille mit ihm zu reden; und er stach ihn daselbst in den Bauch, daß er starb; um des Blutes willen seines Bruders Asahel.

Y como Abner volvió á Hebrón, apartólo Joab al medio de la puerta, hablando con él blandamente, y allí le hirió por la quinta costilla, á causa de la muerte de Asael su hermano, y murió.

And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him quietly, and smote him there under the fifth rib, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.

Als David hernach solches erfuhr, sprach er: Ich und mein Königreich sind ewiglich unschuldig vor dem HERRN an dem Blut Abners, des Sohnes Ners;

And afterward when David heard it, he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before the LORD for ever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner:

es falle aber auf den Kopf Joabs und auf das ganze Haus seines Vaters, und es möge im Hause Joabs nie an solchen fehlen, die einen Eiterfluß und Aussatz haben und die am Stecken gehen und durch das Schwert fallen und an Brot Mangel leiden!

Caiga sobre la cabeza de Joab, y sobre toda la casa de su padre; que nunca falte de la casa de Joab quien padezca flujo, ni leproso, ni quien ande con báculo, ni quien muera á cuchillo, ni quien tenga falta de pan.

Let it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father’s house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword, or that lacketh bread.

Also brachten Joab und sein Bruder Abisai den Abner um, weil er ihren Bruder Asahel im Kampfe zu Gibeon getötet hatte.

Joab pues y Abisai su hermano mataron á Abner, porque él había muerto á Asael, hermano de ellos en la batalla de Gabaón.

David aber sprach zu Joab und zu allem Volk, das mit ihm war: Zerreißet eure Kleider und gürtet Säcke um euch und traget Leid um Abner! Und der König David ging hinter der Bahre her.

Entonces dijo David á Joab, y á todo el pueblo que con él estaba: Romped vuestros vestidos, y ceñíos de sacos, y haced duelo delante de Abner. Y el rey iba detrás del féretro.

And David said to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Rend your clothes, and gird you with sackcloth, and mourn before Abner. And king David himself followed the bier.

David said to Joab and to all the people who were with him, “Tear your clothes, and clothe yourselves with sackcloth, and mourn in front of Abner.” King David followed the bier.

Und als sie Abner zu Hebron begruben, erhob der König seine Stimme und weinte bei Abners Grab; auch alles Volk weinte.

Und der König stimmte ein Klagelied um Abner an und sprach: Sollte denn Abner sterben, wie ein Tor stirbt?

Deine Hände waren nicht gebunden, noch deine Füße in Ketten geschlossen; du bist gefallen, wie man vor bösen Buben fällt! Da beweinte ihn alles Volk noch mehr.

Tus manos no estaban atadas, ni tus pies ligados con grillos: caíste como los que caen delante de malos hombres. Y todo el pueblo volvió á llorar sobre él.

Thy hands were not bound, nor thy feet put into fetters: as a man falleth before wicked men, so fellest thou. And all the people wept again over him.

Als nun das ganze Volk herzutrat, um mit David das Leichenmahl zu halten, während es noch Tag war, schwur David und sprach: Gott tue mir dies und das, wenn ich Brot oder irgend etwas genieße, ehe die Sonne untergegangen ist!

Y como todo el pueblo viniese á dar de comer pan á David siendo aún de día, David juró, diciendo: Así me haga Dios y así me añada, si antes que se ponga el sol gustare yo pan, ú otra cualquier cosa.

And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware, saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.

All the people came to urge David to eat bread while it was yet day; but David swore, saying, “God do so to me, and more also, if I taste bread or anything else, until the sun goes down.”

Das begriffen die Leute, und es gefiel ihnen wohl; alles, was der König tat, war gut in den Augen des ganzen Volkes.

Súpolo así todo el pueblo, y plugo en sus ojos; porque todo lo que el rey hacía parecía bien en ojos de todo el pueblo.

And all the people took notice of it, and it pleased them: as whatsoever the king did pleased all the people.

Und der König sprach zu seinen Knechten: Wisset ihr nicht, daß heute ein Fürst und ein Großer in Israel gefallen ist?

Y el rey dijo á sus siervos: ¿No sabéis que ha caído hoy en Israel un príncipe, y grande?

And the king said unto his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?

Ich aber bin noch schwach und erst zum König gesalbt. Aber diese Männer, die Söhne Zerujas, sind mir zu stark. Der HERR vergelte dem, der Böses tut, nach seiner Bosheit!

Que yo ahora aun soy tierno rey ungido; y estos hombres, los hijos de Sarvia, muy duros me son: Jehová dé el pago al que mal hace, conforme á su malicia.

And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah be too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.

I am weak today, though anointed king. These men, the sons of Zeruiah are too hard for me. May the LORD reward the evildoer according to his wickedness.”
