La guerre dura longtemps entre la maison de Saül et celle de David. David allait se fortifiant de plus en plus, et la maison de Saül ne cessa de s'affaiblir.

Y HUBO larga guerra entre la casa de Saúl y la casa de David; mas David se iba fortificando, y la casa de Saúl iba en disminución.

Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.

Now there was long war between Saul’s house and David’s house. David grew stronger and stronger, but Saul’s house grew weaker and weaker.

Des fils naquirent à David à Hébron. Le premier-né fut Amnon, qu'il eut d'Ahinoam, la Jezreélite;

Tant que dura la guerre entre la maison de Saül et celle de David, Abner resta le soutien de la maison de Saül.

Y como había guerra entre la casa de Saúl y la de David, aconteció que Abner se esforzaba por la casa de Saúl.

And it came to pass, while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner made himself strong for the house of Saul.

While there was war between Saul’s house and David’s house, Abner made himself strong in Saul’s house.

Or, Saül avait eu une concubine nommée Riçpa, fille d'Ayya. Isboseth dit à Abner: "Pourquoi as-tu cohabité avec la concubine de mon père?"

Y había Saúl tenido una concubina que se llamaba Rispa, hija de Aja. Y dijo Is-boseth á Abner: ¿Por qué has entrado á la concubina de mi padre?

And Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah: and Ish-bosheth said to Abner, Wherefore hast thou gone in unto my father’s concubine?

Now Saul had a concubine, whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah; and Ishbosheth said to Abner, “Why have you gone in to my father’s concubine?”

Abner s'irrita fort des paroles d'Isboseth, et il dit: "Suis-je une tête de chien au service de Juda? En ce moment, je fais du bien à la maison de Saül, ton père, à ses frères et à ses amis, je ne te laisse point tomber au pouvoir de David, et maintenant tu me reproches un méfait commis à l'égard de cette femme!

Y enojóse Abner en gran manera por las palabras de Is-boseth, y dijo: ¿Soy yo cabeza de perros respecto de Judá? Yo he hecho hoy misericordia con la casa de Saúl tu padre, con sus hermanos, y con sus amigos, y no te he entregado en las manos de David: ¿y tú me haces hoy cargo del pecado de esta mujer?

Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ish-bosheth, and said, Am I a dog’s head, which against Judah do shew kindness this day unto the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou chargest me to day with a fault concerning this woman?

Then Abner was very angry about Ishbosheth’s words, and said, “Am I a dog’s head that belongs to Judah? Today I show kindness to your father Saul’s house, to his brothers, and to his friends, and have not delivered you into the hand of David; and yet you charge me today with a fault concerning this woman!

Dieu m'en fasse autant et plus, à moi Abner, si je n'exécute envers David ce que le Seigneur lui a juré:

Así haga Dios á Abner y así le añada, si como ha jurado Jehová á David no hiciere yo así con él,

So do God to Abner, and more also, except, as the LORD hath sworn to David, even so I do to him;

d'enlever la royauté à la maison de Saül et d'établir le trône de David sur Israël et sur Juda, depuis Dan jusqu'à Bersabée!"

Trasladando el reino de la casa de Saúl, y confirmando el trono de David sobre Israel y sobre Judá, desde Dan hasta Beer-sebah.

To translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beer-sheba.

to transfer the kingdom from Saul’s house, and to set up David’s throne over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beersheba.”

Il ne put répondre un seul mot à Abner, par suite de la crainte qu'il lui inspirait.

Y él no pudo responder palabra á Abner, porque le temía.

And he could not answer Abner a word again, because he feared him.

Alors Abner envoya des messagers à David pour décider, en son nom, à qui appartiendrait le pays, en disant: "Fais ton traité avec moi, et je te prêterai main-forte pour rallier autour de toi tout Israël.

Y envió Abner mensajeros á David de su parte, diciendo: ¿Cúya es la tierra? Y que le dijesen: Haz alianza conmigo, y he aquí que mi mano será contigo para volver á ti á todo Israel.

And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose is the land? saying also, Make thy league with me, and, behold, my hand shall be with thee, to bring about all Israel unto thee.

Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, “Whose is the land?” and saying, “Make your alliance with me, and behold, my hand will be with you to bring all Israel around to you.”

Bien, répondit-il, je veux faire un pacte avec toi; mais je te demande une chose, savoir: que tu ne viennes pas me voir, sinon en m'amenant Mikhal, fille de Saül, quand tu te présenteras devant moi."

Y David dijo: Bien; yo haré contigo alianza: mas una cosa te pido, y es, que no me vengas á ver sin que primero traigas á Michâl la hija de Saúl, cuando vinieres á verme.

And he said, Well; I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal Saul’s daughter, when thou comest to see my face.

David said, “Good. I will make a treaty with you, but one thing I require of you. That is, you will not see my face unless you first bring Michal, Saul’s daughter, when you come to see my face.”

Et David envoya des messagers à Isboseth, fils de Saül, pour lui dire: "Restitue ma femme, Mikhal, que j'ai obtenue comme épouse au prix de cent prépuces de Philistins."

Después de esto envió David mensajeros á Is-boseth hijo de Saúl, diciendo: Restitúyeme á mi mujer Michâl, la cual yo desposé conmigo por cien prepucios de Filisteos.

And David sent messengers to Ish-bosheth Saul’s son, saying, Deliver me my wife Michal, which I espoused to me for an hundred foreskins of the Philistines.

David sent messengers to Ishbosheth, Saul’s son, saying, “Deliver me my wife Michal, whom I was given to marry for one hundred foreskins of the Philistines.”

Isboseth envoya pour la faire ramener de chez le mari de chez Paltiel, fils de Laïch.

Entonces Is-boseth envió, y quitóla á su marido Paltiel, hijo de Lais.

And Ish-bosheth sent, and took her from her husband, even from Phaltiel the son of Laish.

Son mari l'accompagna en pleurant et la suivant jusqu'à Bahourim; là, Abner lui dit: "Retourne sur tes pas", et il s'en retourna.

Y su marido fué con ella, siguiéndola y llorando hasta Bahurim. Y díjole Abner: Anda, vuélvete. Entonces él se volvió.

And her husband went with her along weeping behind her to Bahurim. Then said Abner unto him, Go, return. And he returned.

Abner s'aboucha avec les anciens d'Israël, en disant: "Depuis longtemps vous avez demandé que David devint votre roi.

Y habló Abner con los ancianos de Israel, diciendo: Ayer y antes procurabais que David fuese rey sobre vosotros;

And Abner had communication with the elders of Israel, saying, Ye sought for David in times past to be king over you:

Maintenant donc, agissez, car l'Eternel a dit au sujet de David: C'est par la main de mon serviteur David que je veux délivrer mon peuple Israël de la puissance des Philistins et de tous ses ennemis."

Ahora, pues, hacedlo; porque Jehová ha hablado á David, diciendo: Por la mano de mi siervo David libraré á mi pueblo Israel de mano de los Filisteos, y de mano de todos sus enemigos.

Now then do it: for the LORD hath spoken of David, saying, By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel out of the hand of the Philistines, and out of the hand of all their enemies.

Abner fit aussi entendre ses paroles aux Benjamites, puis il se rendit à Hébron pour faire connaître à David ce qui avait été agréé d'Israël et de toute la maison de Benjamin.

Y habló también Abner á los de Benjamín: y fué también Abner á Hebrón á decir á David todo el parecer de los de Israel y de toda la casa de Benjamín.

And Abner also spake in the ears of Benjamin: and Abner went also to speak in the ears of David in Hebron all that seemed good to Israel, and that seemed good to the whole house of Benjamin.

Abner arriva donc auprès de David à Hébron, accompagné de vingt hommes; David donna un festin à Abner et aux hommes qui l'accompagnaient.

Et Abner dit à David: "Je vais, de ce pas, convoquer tous les Israélites auprès de mon seigneur le roi, afin qu'ils concluent un pacte avec toi, et tu régneras partout où il te plaira." Et David congédia Abner, qui s'en alla en paix.

And Abner said unto David, I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel unto my lord the king, that they may make a league with thee, and that thou mayest reign over all that thine heart desireth. And David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.

Abner said to David, “I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel to my lord the king, that they may make a covenant with you, and that you may reign over all that your soul desires.” David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.

Cependant Joab, avec les serviteurs de David, revenait d'une expédition, rapportant un butin considérable. Abner n'était plus à Hébron avec David, qui l'avait congédié et laissé partir en paix.

Y he aquí los siervos de David y Joab, que venían del campo, y traían consigo gran presa. Mas Abner no estaba con David en Hebrón, que ya lo había él despedido, y él se había ido en paz.

And, behold, the servants of David and Joab came from pursuing a troop, and brought in a great spoil with them: but Abner was not with David in Hebron; for he had sent him away, and he was gone in peace.

Behold, David’s servants and Joab came from a raid and brought in a great plunder with them; but Abner was not with David in Hebron, for he had sent him away, and he had gone in peace.

Joab, avec toute la troupe qui l'accompagnait, étant survenu, on annonça à Joab qu'Abner, fils de Ner, était arrivé auprès du roi et que celui-ci l'avait congédié et laissé partir en paix.

Y luego que llegó Joab y todo el ejército que con él estaba, fué dado aviso á Joab, diciendo: Abner hijo de Ner ha venido al rey, y él le ha despedido, y se fué en paz.

When Joab and all the host that was with him were come, they told Joab, saying, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he hath sent him away, and he is gone in peace.

Joab alla trouver le roi et lui dit: "Qu'as-tu fait? Abner est venu auprès de toi, pourquoi donc l'as-tu congédié et a-t-il pu s'en aller?

Entonces Joab vino al rey, y díjole: ¿Qué has hecho? He aquí habíase venido Abner á ti: ¿por qué pues lo dejaste que se fuése?

Then Joab came to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold, Abner came unto thee; why is it that thou hast sent him away, and he is quite gone?

Then Joab came to the king and said, “What have you done? Behold, Abner came to you. Why is it that you have sent him away, and he is already gone?

Tu connais Abner, fils de Ner; il n'est venu que pour te tromper, pour connaître tes allées et venues, pour savoir tout ce que tu fais!"

¿Sabes tú que Abner hijo de Ner ha venido para engañarte, y á saber tu salida y tu entrada, y por entender todo lo que tú haces?

Thou knowest Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive thee, and to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou doest.

You know Abner the son of Ner. He came to deceive you, and to know your going out and your coming in, and to know all that you do.”

Et Joab, étant sorti de chez David, envoya des messagers sur les pas d'Abner, et ils le ramenèrent de la citerne de Sire, à l'insu de David.

Y saliéndose Joab de con David, envió mensajeros tras Abner, los cuales le volvieron desde el pozo de Sira, sin saberlo David.

And when Joab was come out from David, he sent messengers after Abner, which brought him again from the well of Sirah: but David knew it not.

Abner rebroussa donc chemin vers Hébron; Joab l'entraîna vers l'intérieur de la porte comme pour lui parler en secret; il le frappa à l'aine et le fit ainsi mourir, pour venger le sang de son frère Assahel.

Y como Abner volvió á Hebrón, apartólo Joab al medio de la puerta, hablando con él blandamente, y allí le hirió por la quinta costilla, á causa de la muerte de Asael su hermano, y murió.

And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him quietly, and smote him there under the fifth rib, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.

When Abner had returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into the middle of the gate to speak with him quietly, and struck him there in the body, so that he died for the blood of Asahel his brother.

David, l'ayant appris plus tard, dit: "Je suis innocent devant Dieu à jamais, moi et ma dynastie, du sang d'Abner, fils de Ner.

And afterward when David heard it, he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before the LORD for ever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner:

Qu'il pèse sur la tête de Joab et de tous les siens! Qu'il ne cesse d'y avoir, dans sa famille, des gens affligés de flux ou de lèpre, s'appuyant sur des béquilles, victimes de l'épée ou manquant de pain!"

Caiga sobre la cabeza de Joab, y sobre toda la casa de su padre; que nunca falte de la casa de Joab quien padezca flujo, ni leproso, ni quien ande con báculo, ni quien muera á cuchillo, ni quien tenga falta de pan.

Let it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father’s house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword, or that lacketh bread.

Let it fall on the head of Joab and on all his father’s house. Let there not fail from the house of Joab one who has a discharge, or who is a leper, or who leans on a staff, or who falls by the sword, or who lacks bread.”

Or, Joab et son frère Abisaï avaient tué Abner, parce qu'il avait fait périr Assahel, leur frère, à Gabaon, pendant la guerre.

Joab pues y Abisai su hermano mataron á Abner, porque él había muerto á Asael, hermano de ellos en la batalla de Gabaón.

So Joab and Abishai his brother slew Abner, because he had slain their brother Asahel at Gibeon in the battle.

David dit à Joab et à tout le peuple qui l'accompagnait: "Déchirez vos vêtements, ceignez-vous de cilices et lamentez-vous devant le corps d'Abner." Pour le roi David, il marchait derrière le cercueil.

Entonces dijo David á Joab, y á todo el pueblo que con él estaba: Romped vuestros vestidos, y ceñíos de sacos, y haced duelo delante de Abner. Y el rey iba detrás del féretro.

And David said to Joab, and to all the people that were with him, Rend your clothes, and gird you with sackcloth, and mourn before Abner. And king David himself followed the bier.

David said to Joab and to all the people who were with him, “Tear your clothes, and clothe yourselves with sackcloth, and mourn in front of Abner.” King David followed the bier.

Abner fut enseveli à Hébron; le roi, élevant la voix, sanglota près de sa tombe; tout le peuple aussi pleura.

Et le roi prononça cette élégie sur Abner: "Abner devait-il mourir de la mort d'un indigne!

Tes mains n'avaient pas été liées, ni tes pieds engagés dans des chaînes: tu es tombé comme on tombe devant, les enfants du crime!" Et les pleurs du peuple entier redoublèrent.

Tus manos no estaban atadas, ni tus pies ligados con grillos: caíste como los que caen delante de malos hombres. Y todo el pueblo volvió á llorar sobre él.

Thy hands were not bound, nor thy feet put into fetters: as a man falleth before wicked men, so fellest thou. And all the people wept again over him.

Le peuple voulut faire: prendre de la nourriture à David, encore en plein jour; mais David jura en disant: "Que Dieu me punisse autant et plus, si je goûte du pain ou quoi que ce soit avant le coucher du soleil!"

Y como todo el pueblo viniese á dar de comer pan á David siendo aún de día, David juró, diciendo: Así me haga Dios y así me añada, si antes que se ponga el sol gustare yo pan, ú otra cualquier cosa.

And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware, saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.

All the people came to urge David to eat bread while it was yet day; but David swore, saying, “God do so to me, and more also, if I taste bread or anything else, until the sun goes down.”

Tout le peuple en eut connaissance et cela leur plut, comme plaisait au peuple tout ce que faisait le roi.

Súpolo así todo el pueblo, y plugo en sus ojos; porque todo lo que el rey hacía parecía bien en ojos de todo el pueblo.

And all the people took notice of it, and it pleased them: as whatsoever the king did pleased all the people.

Tout le peuple, tout Israël comprit alors que le meurtre d'Abner, fils de Ner, n'était pas imputable au roi.

For all the people and all Israel understood that day that it was not of the king to slay Abner the son of Ner.

Le roi dit à ses serviteurs: "Vous savez bien qu'un prince et un grand homme est tombé aujourd'hui en Israël.

And the king said unto his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel?

Pour moi, je suis faible encore et viens d'être sacré roi, et ces hommes, les fils de Cerouya, sont plus forts que moi. A Dieu de punir le méchant selon sa méchanceté!"

Que yo ahora aun soy tierno rey ungido; y estos hombres, los hijos de Sarvia, muy duros me son: Jehová dé el pago al que mal hace, conforme á su malicia.

And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah be too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.

I am weak today, though anointed king. These men, the sons of Zeruiah are too hard for me. May the LORD reward the evildoer according to his wickedness.”
