Jonatan aber, der Sohn Sauls, hatte einen Sohn mit lahmen Füßen. Der war fünf Jahre alt, als die Kunde von Saul und Jonatan aus Jesreel kam. Da hob ihn seine Amme auf und floh. Da sie aber eilends floh, kam er zu Fall und ward lahm; und er hieß Mephiboset.

And they brought the head of Ish-bosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of Ish-bosheth the son of Saul thine enemy, which sought thy life; and the LORD hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.

when someone told me, ‘Behold, Saul is dead,’ thinking that he brought good news, I seized him and killed him in Ziklag, which was the reward I gave him for his news.
Wieviel mehr, da diese gottlosen Leute einen gerechten Mann in seinem Hause auf seinem Lager ermordet haben! Und nun sollte ich nicht sein Blut von euren Händen fordern und euch aus dem Lande ausrotten?

Und David gebot den Knappen; die brachten sie um und hieben ihnen Hände und Füße ab und hängten sie auf am Teiche zu Hebron. Aber das Haupt Ischbosets nahmen sie und begruben es in Abners Grab zu Hebron.
