2 Samuel 5

Después de esto se presentaron todas las tribus de Israel a David en Hebrón, diciendo: Aquí nos tienes; hueso tuyo y carne tuya somos.

Y VINIERON todas las tribus de Israel á David en Hebrón, y hablaron, diciendo: He aquí nosotros somos tus huesos y tu carne.

Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and spoke, saying, “Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.

A más de que tiempo atrás, cuando Saúl era nuestro rey, tú eras el que capitaneaba a Israel; y a ti te ha dicho el Señor: Tú apacentarás a mi pueblo de Israel y tú serás su caudillo.

Y aun ayer y antes, cuando Saúl reinaba sobre nosotros, tú sacabas y volvías á Israel. Además Jehová te ha dicho: Tú apacentarás á mi pueblo Israel, y tú serás sobre Israel príncipe.

Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.

In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led Israel out and in. The LORD said to you, ‘You will be shepherd of my people Israel, and you will be prince over Israel.’”

Vinieron también los ancianos de Israel a tratar con el rey en Hebrón, y capituló allí con ellos el rey David delante del Señor; después de lo cual lo ungieron por rey de todo Israel.

Vinieron pues todos los ancianos de Israel al rey en Hebrón, y el rey David hizo con ellos alianza en Hebrón delante de Jehová; y ungieron á David por rey sobre Israel.

So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.

Treinta años tenía David cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó cuarenta.

Porque a pocos días el rey con toda la gente que tenía consigo se dirigió a Jerusalén contra los jebuseos, moradores de aquel territorio, y le dijeron a David los sitiados: No entrarás acá dentro de esta plaza si no echas primero de ella a los ciegos y cojos, los cuales están diciendo: No entrará David acá.

Entonces el rey y los suyos fueron á Jerusalem al Jebuseo que habitaba en la tierra; el cual habló á David, diciendo: Tú no entrarás acá, si no echares los ciegos y los cojos; diciendo: No entrará acá David.

And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.

The king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, “The blind and the lame will keep you out of here,” thinking, “David can’t come in here.”

Sin embargo, David se apoderó del alcázar de Sión, que se llama hoy Ciudad de David.

Empero David tomó la fortaleza de Sión, la cual es la ciudad de David.

Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.

Para lo cual había ofrecido aquel día del asalto un premio al que batiese a los jebuseos, y ganando lo alto de los muros, arrojase de allí a los ciegos y a los cojos enemigos enconados de David; de donde se dice por refrán: Ni ciego ni cojo entrarán en el templo.

Y dijo David aquel día: ¿Quién llegará hasta las canales, y herirá al Jebuseo, y á los cojos y ciegos, á los cuales el alma de David aborrece? Por esto se dijo: Ciego ni cojo no entrará en casa.

And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of David’s soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

David said on that day, “Whoever strikes the Jebusites, let him go up to the watercourse and strike those lame and blind, who are hated by David’s soul.” Therefore they say, “The blind and the lame can’t come into the house.”

Habitó, pues, David en el alcázar, y lo llamó Ciudad de David; e hizo construir varios edificios alrededor, e interiormente, comenzando desde Mello.

Y David moró en la fortaleza, y púsole por nombre la Ciudad de David: y edificó alrededor, desde Millo para adentro.

So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.

David lived in the stronghold, and called it David’s city. David built around from Millo and inward.

De esta suerte se iba fortificando y engrandeciendo más y más, y el Señor Dios de los ejércitos estaba con él.

Y David iba creciendo y aumentándose, y Jehová Dios de los ejércitos era con él.

And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.

David grew greater and greater, for the LORD, the God of Armies, was with him.

Además Hiram, rey de Tiro, envió embajadores a David y le remitió maderas de cedro, y carpinteros y canteros para levantar edificios; y fabricaron la casa de David.

And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house.

Y David en todo esto reconoció que el Señor le había confirmado en el reino sobre Israel, y elevado para siempre al gobierno de su pueblo de Israel.

Y entendió David que Jehová le había confirmado por rey sobre Israel, y que había ensalzado su reino por amor de su pueblo Israel.

And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake.

Tomó también David en Jerusalén , después que vino de Hebrón, otras mujeres de segundo y de primer orden, de quienes tuvo otros hijos e hijas.

Y tomó David más concubinas y mujeres de Jerusalem después que vino de Hebrón, y naciéronle más hijos é hijas.

And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.

Luego que oyeron los filisteos que David había sido ungido rey sobre Israel, se pusieron todos en movimiento para ir contra David: lo que sabiendo éste, se atrincheró en una posición muy fuerte.

Y oyendo los Filisteos que habían ungido á David por rey sobre Israel, todos los Filisteos subieron á buscar á David: lo cual como David oyó, vino á la fortaleza.

But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.

Entretanto los filisteos habiendo avanzado se extendieron por el valle de Rafaím.

Y vinieron los Filisteos, y extendiéronse por el valle de Raphaim.

The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

Y David consultó al Señor, diciendo: ¿Será bien que yo acometa a los filisteos? ¿Los entregarás en mis manos? Ve, respondió el Señor, que en tus manos los pondré infaliblemente.

Entonces consultó David á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Iré contra los Filisteos? ¿los entregarás en mis manos? Y Jehová respondió á David: Ve, porque ciertamente entregaré los Filisteos en tus manos.

And David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.

David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?” The LORD said to David, “Go up; for I will certainly deliver the Philistines into your hand.”

Bajó, pues, David a Baal Farasim, y allí los derrotó. Por lo que dijo: El Señor ha dispersado delante de mí a mis enemigos, como agua que se derrama. Por eso se llamó aquel sitio Baal Farasim.

Y vino David á Baal-perasim, y allí los venció David, y dijo: Rompió Jehová mis enemigos delante de mí, como quien rompe aguas. Y por esto llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Baal-perasim.

And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

David came to Baal Perazim, and David struck them there. Then he said, “The LORD has broken my enemies before me, like the breach of waters.” Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim.

Y los filisteos dejaron allí sus ídolos, los cuales recogieron David y su gente.

Y dejaron allí sus ídolos, los cuales quemó David y los suyos.

And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.

Todavía los filisteos volvieron a salir a campaña, y se dispersaron por el valle de Rafaím.

Y los Filisteos tornaron á venir, y extendiéronse en el valle de Raphaim.

And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

Consultó David al Señor, diciendo: ¿Acometeré a los filisteos, y los entregarás tú en mis manos? Le respondió el Señor: No los acometas de frente, sino da la vuelta por sus espaldas, y embístelos por enfrente de los perales.

Y consultando David á Jehová, él le respondió: No subas; mas rodéalos, y vendrás á ellos por delante de los morales:

And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

When David inquired of the LORD, he said, “You shall not go up. Circle around behind them, and attack them in front of the mulberry trees.

Y cuando sintieres el ruido de uno que anda por entre las copas de los perales, entonces darás el combate; porque entonces saldrá el Señor a tu frente para atacar el campamento de los filisteos.

Y cuando oyeres un estruendo que irá por las copas de los morales, entonces te moverás; porque Jehová saldrá delante de ti á herir el campo de los Filisteos.

And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.

When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then stir yourself up; for then the LORD has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”

Lo hizo así David, como el Señor se lo había mandado, y fue batiendo a los filisteos desde Gabaa hasta la entrada de Gezer.

Y David lo hizo así, como Jehová se lo había mandado; é hirió á los Filisteos desde Gabaa hasta llegar á Gaza.

And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.

David did so, as the LORD commanded him, and struck the Philistines all the way from Geba to Gezer.
