Nachmals besiegte David die Philister und demütigte sie und machte so der Oberherrschaft der Philister ein Ende. –

DESPUÉS de esto aconteció, que David hirió á los Filisteos, y los humilló: y tomó David á Methegamma de mano de los Filisteos.

And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Metheg-ammah out of the hand of the Philistines.

Er besiegte auch die Moabiter und maß sie mit der Meßschnur ab, indem er sie auf die Erde niederlegen ließ; und zwar maß er zwei Schnurlängen ab, um (die betreffenden) zu töten, und eine volle Schnurlänge für die, welche am Leben bleiben sollten. So wurden die Moabiter Davids tributpflichtige Untertanen. –

Hirió también á los de Moab, y midiólos con cordel, haciéndolos echar por tierra; y midió con dos cordeles para muerte, y un cordel entero para vida; y fueron los Moabitas siervos debajo de tributo.

Sodann besiegte David Hadad-Eser, den Sohn Rehobs, den König von Zoba, als dieser ausgezogen war, um seine Herrschaft am Euphrat wiederherzustellen.

Asimismo hirió David á Hadad-ezer hijo de Rehob, rey de Soba, yendo él á extender su término hasta el río de Eufrates.

David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.

Dabei machte David 1700 Reiter von ihm und 20000 Mann Fußvolk zu Gefangenen und ließ die Gespanne sämtlich lähmen; nur hundert Wagenpferde behielt er von diesen für sich. –

Als dann die Syrer von Damaskus dem König Hadad-Eser von Zoba zu Hilfe kamen, erschlug David von den Syrern 22000 Mann

Y vinieron los Siros de Damasco á dar ayuda á Hadad-ezer rey de Soba; y David hirió de los Siros veinte y dos mil hombres.

die der König David ebenfalls dem HERRN weihte, wie er es auch mit dem Silber und Gold machte, das ihm bei allen unterworfenen Völkern in die Hände gefallen war,

Als David dann von dem Siege über die Syrer zurückkehrte, gewann er neuen Ruhm, indem er die Edomiter im Salztal besiegte und 18000 Mann von ihnen erschlug.

So herrschte denn David über ganz Israel und ließ Recht und Gerechtigkeit in seinem ganzen Volke walten. –

Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas, Befehlshaber der (Leibwache der) Krethi und Plethi; Priesterrang hatten auch die Söhne Davids.

Y Benahía hijo de Joiada, era sobre los Ceretheos y Peletheos; y los hijos de David eran los príncipes.

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were chief rulers.
