Depois disso, Davi derrotou os filisteus e conquistou aquela região e acabou com o poder deles.

DESPUÉS de esto aconteció, que David hirió á los Filisteos, y los humilló: y tomó David á Methegamma de mano de los Filisteos.

And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Metheg-ammah out of the hand of the Philistines.

After this, David struck the Philistines and subdued them; and David took the bridle of the mother city out of the hand of the Philistines.

Ele também destruiu a terra de Moabe. Depois da destruição, Davi colocou os moabitas em diversas fileiras, usando uma corda para isso; fez com que eles se deitassem no chão, separando dois terços dos homens de cada fileira para serem mortos. Os homens restantes ficaram para servir a Davi e pagar imposto.

Hirió también á los de Moab, y midiólos con cordel, haciéndolos echar por tierra; y midió con dos cordeles para muerte, y un cordel entero para vida; y fueron los Moabitas siervos debajo de tributo.

And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David’s servants, and brought gifts.

Davi destruiu também as forças do rei Hadadezer, filho de Reobe, rei de Zobá, numa batalha na região do rio Eufrates, onde Hadadezer tentava restabelecer o seu domínio.

Asimismo hirió David á Hadad-ezer hijo de Rehob, rey de Soba, yendo él á extender su término hasta el río de Eufrates.

David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.

Davi prendeu mil e setecentos homens da cavalaria, e vinte mil homens da infantaria; mandou aleijar todos os cavalos dos carros de guerra, menos aqueles que guardou para si, ou seja, cavalos suficientes para cem carros.

Y tomó David de ellos mil y setecientos de á caballo, y veinte mil hombres de á pie; y desjarretó David los caballos de todos los carros, excepto cien carros de ellos que dejó.

And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.

Davi destruiu ainda vinte e dois mil sírios que vieram de Damasco para ajudar o rei Hadadezer, rei de Zobá.

Y vinieron los Siros de Damasco á dar ayuda á Hadad-ezer rey de Soba; y David hirió de los Siros veinte y dos mil hombres.

And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succour Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

Davi colocou guardas do seu exército em Damasco; assim os sírios de Damasco se tornaram seus servos e pagavam tributo a ele anualmente. E o Senhor ia concedendo vitórias a Davi por onde quer que ele ia.

Puso luego David guarnición en Siria la de Damasco, y fueron los Siros siervos de David sujetos á tributo. Y Jehová guardó á David donde quiera que fué.

Os escudos de ouro usados pelos oficiais do rei Hadadezer foram levados por Davi para Jerusalém.

Quando Toí, rei de Hamate, ficou sabendo das vitórias de Davi contra o exército de Hadadezer,

mandou seu filho Jorão saudar Davi e parabenizá-lo, pois o rei de Hamate e Hadadezer eram inimigos. Toí mandou por meio de Jorão presentes de ouro, prata e bronze.

O rei Davi dedicou esses presentes de prata, ouro e bronze ao Senhor, bem como o ouro e a prata que ele havia tomado das nações que conquistara:

Los cuales el rey David dedicó á Jehová, con la plata y el oro que tenía dedicado de todas las naciones que había sometido:

Which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;

E assim Davi se tornou ainda mais famoso quando voltou da batalha em que matou dezoito mil homens edomitas no vale do Sal.

Y ganó David fama cuando, volviendo de la rota de los Siros, hirió diez y ocho mil hombres en el valle de la sal.

And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.

Em Edom também colocou guardas do seu exército, obrigando toda a nação de Edom a pagar imposto a Israel. O Senhor estava com Davi e fazia dele um homem vitorioso por onde quer que ele ia.

Y puso guarnición en Edom, por toda Edom puso guarnición; y todos los Idumeos fueron siervos de David. Y Jehová guardó á David por donde quiera que fué.

And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David’s servants. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.

Davi foi um rei justo, tratando com igualdade todo o povo de Israel.

Y reinó David sobre todo Israel; y hacía David derecho y justicia á todo su pueblo.

Benaia, filho de Joiada, era o comandante da guarda do rei, que comandava os queretitas e os peletitas; e os filhos de Davi eram seus ministros.

Y Benahía hijo de Joiada, era sobre los Ceretheos y Peletheos; y los hijos de David eran los príncipes.

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were chief rulers.
