1E Davide disse: “Evvi egli rimasto alcuno della casa di Saul, a cui io possa far del bene per amore di Gionathan?”
2Or v’era un servo della casa di Saul, per nome Tsiba, che fu fatto venire presso Davide. Il re gli chiese: “Sei tu Tsiba?” Quegli rispose: “Servo tuo”.
3Il re gli disse: “V’è egli più alcuno della casa di Saul, a cui io possa far del bene per amor di Dio?” Tsiba rispose al re: “V’è ancora un figliuolo di Gionathan, storpiato dei piedi”.
4Il re gli disse: “Dov’è egli?” Tsiba rispose al re: “E’ in casa di Makir, figliuolo di Ammiel, a Lodebar”.
5Allora il re lo mandò a prendere in casa di Makir, figliuolo di Ammiel, a Lodebar.
6E Mefibosheth, figliuolo di Gionathan, figliuolo di Saul venne da Davide, si gettò con la faccia a terra e si prostrò dinanzi a lui. Davide disse: “Mefibosheth!” Ed egli rispose:
7“Ecco il tuo servo!” Davide gli disse: “Non temere, perché io non mancherò di trattarti con bontà per amor di Gionathan tuo padre, e ti renderò tutte le terre di Saul tuo avolo, e tu mangerai sempre alla mia mensa”.
8Mefibosheth s’inchinò profondamente, e disse: “Che cos’è il tuo servo, che tu ti degni guardare un can morto come son io?”
9Allora il re chiamò Tsiba, servo di Saul, e gli disse: “Tutto quello che apparteneva a Saul e a tutta la sua casa io lo do al figliuolo del tuo signore.
10Tu dunque, coi tuoi figliuoli e coi tuoi servi, lavoragli le terre e fa’ le raccolte, affinché il figliuolo del tuo signore abbia del pane da mangiare; e Mefibosheth, figliuolo del tuo signore, mangerà sempre alla mia mensa”. Or Tsiba avea quindici figliuoli e venti servi.
11Tsiba disse al re: “Il tuo servo farà tutto quello che il re mio signore ordina al suo servo”. E Mefibosheth mangiò alla mensa di Davide come uno dei figliuoli del re.
12Or Mefibosheth avea un figliuoletto per nome Mica; e tutti quelli che stavano in casa di Tsiba erano servi di Mefibosheth.
13Mefibosheth dimorava a Gerusalemme perché mangiava sempre alla mensa del re. Era zoppo d’ambedue i piedi.

1Y DIJO David: ¿Ha quedado alguno de la casa de Saúl, á quien haga yo misericordia por amor de Jonathán?
2Y había un siervo de la casa de Saúl, que se llamaba Siba, al cual como llamaron que viniese á David, el rey le dijo: ¿Eres tú Siba? Y él respondió: Tu siervo.
3Y el rey dijo: ¿No ha quedado nadie de la casa de Saúl, á quien haga yo misericordia de Dios? Y Siba respondió al rey: Aun ha quedado un hijo de Jonathán, lisiado de los pies.
4Entonces el rey le dijo: ¿Y ése dónde está? Y Siba respondió al rey: He aquí, está en casa de Machîr hijo de Amiel, en Lodebar.
5Y envió el rey David, y tomólo de casa de Machîr hijo de Amiel, de Lodebar.
6Y venido Mephi-boseth, hijo de Jonathán hijo de Saúl, á David, postróse sobre su rostro, é hizo reverencia. Y dijo David: Mephi-boseth. Y él respondió: He aquí tu siervo.
7Y díjole David: No tengas temor, porque yo á la verdad haré contigo misericordia por amor de Jonathán tu padre, y te haré volver todas las tierras de Saúl tu padre; y tú comerás siempre pan á mi mesa.
8Y él inclinándose, dijo: ¿Quién es tu siervo, para que mires á un perro muerto como yo?
9Entonces el rey llamó á Siba, siervo de Saúl, y díjole: Todo lo que fué de Saúl y de toda su casa, yo lo he dado al hijo de tu señor.
10Tú pues le labrarás las tierras, tú con tus hijos, y tus siervos, y encerrarás los frutos, para que el hijo de tu señor tenga con qué mantenerse; y Mephi-boseth el hijo de tu señor comerá siempre pan á mi mesa. Y tenía Siba quince hijos y veinte siervos.
11Y respondió Siba al rey: Conforme á todo lo que ha mandado mi señor el rey á su siervo, así lo hará tu siervo. Mephi-boseth, dijo el rey, comerá á mi mesa, como uno de los hijos del rey.
12Y tenía Mephi-boseth un hijo pequeño, que se llamaba Michâ. Y toda la familia de la casa de Siba eran siervos de Mephi-boseth.
13Y moraba Mephi-boseth en Jerusalem, porque comía siempre á la mesa del rey: y era cojo de ambos pies.

1And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?
2And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba. And when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he.
3And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet.
4And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar.
5Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.
6Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!
7And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
8And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?
9Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master’s son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.
10Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master’s son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master’s son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
11Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king’s sons.
12And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth.
13So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king’s table; and was lame on both his feet.
World English Bible
1David said, “Is there yet any who is left of Saul’s house, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”
2There was of Saul’s house a servant whose name was Ziba, and they called him to David; and the king said to him, “Are you Ziba?” He said, “I am your servant.”
3The king said, “Is there not yet any of Saul’s house, that I may show the kindness of God to him?” Ziba said to the king, “Jonathan still has a son, who is lame in his feet.”
4The king said to him, “Where is he?” Ziba said to the king, “Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo Debar.”
5Then King David sent and brought him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo Debar.
6Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, fell on his face, and showed respect. David said, “Mephibosheth?” He answered, “Behold, your servant!”
7David said to him, “Don’t be afraid, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your father. You will eat bread at my table continually.”
8He bowed down, and said, “What is your servant, that you should look at such a dead dog as I am?”
9Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said to him, “All that belonged to Saul and to all his house I have given to your master’s son.
10Till the land for him—you, your sons, and your servants. Bring in the harvest, that your master’s son may have bread to eat; but Mephibosheth your master’s son will always eat bread at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
11Then Ziba said to the king, “According to all that my lord the king commands his servant, so your servant will do.” So Mephibosheth ate at the king’s table like one of the king’s sons.
12Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Mica. All who lived in Ziba’s house were servants to Mephibosheth.
13So Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, for he ate continually at the king’s table. He was lame in both his feet.
