Entonces David dijo: “¿Queda alguien de la familia de Saúl a quien yo pueda mostrarle mi bondad por amor a Jonatán?” .
Y DIJO David: ¿Ha quedado alguno de la casa de Saúl, á quien haga yo misericordia por amor de Jonathán?
And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?
David said, “Is there yet any who is left of Saul’s house, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”
Y había un hombre llamado Siba que era siervo de la familia de Saúl. Lo llamaron para que se acercara a David, y el rey le preguntó: “¿Eres Siba?” . “Sí, soy tu siervo”, respondió.
Y había un siervo de la casa de Saúl, que se llamaba Siba, al cual como llamaron que viniese á David, el rey le dijo: ¿Eres tú Siba? Y él respondió: Tu siervo.
And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba. And when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he.
There was of Saul’s house a servant whose name was Ziba, and they called him to David; and the king said to him, “Are you Ziba?” He said, “I am your servant.”
El rey le preguntó: “¿Queda alguien de la familia de Saúl a quien pueda mostrar mi bondad como se lo prometí ante Dios?” “Todavía queda uno de los hijos de Jonatán, que es cojo de ambos pies”, respondió Siba.
Y el rey dijo: ¿No ha quedado nadie de la casa de Saúl, á quien haga yo misericordia de Dios? Y Siba respondió al rey: Aun ha quedado un hijo de Jonathán, lisiado de los pies.
And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet.
The king said, “Is there not yet any of Saul’s house, that I may show the kindness of God to him?” Ziba said to the king, “Jonathan still has a son, who is lame in his feet.”
“¿Dónde está?” , preguntó el rey. “Está en la ciudad de Lo-debar, viviendo en la casa de Maquir, hijo de Amiel”, respondió Siba.
Entonces el rey le dijo: ¿Y ése dónde está? Y Siba respondió al rey: He aquí, está en casa de Machîr hijo de Amiel, en Lodebar.
And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar.
The king said to him, “Where is he?” Ziba said to the king, “Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo Debar.”
Así que el rey David hizo que lo trajeran de la casa de Maquir.

Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.

Cuando Mefi-boset, hijo de Jonatán, hijo de Saúl, se acercó a David, se inclinó hacia el suelo en señal de respeto. Entonces David dijo: “Bienvenido Mefi-boset”. “Soy tu siervo”, respondió él.
Y venido Mephi-boseth, hijo de Jonathán hijo de Saúl, á David, postróse sobre su rostro, é hizo reverencia. Y dijo David: Mephi-boseth. Y él respondió: He aquí tu siervo.
Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!
Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, fell on his face, and showed respect. David said, “Mephibosheth?” He answered, “Behold, your servant!”
“No temas – le dijo David – porque de verdad seré bondadoso contigo por amor a tu padre Jonatán. Te devolveré toda la tierra que poseía tu abuelo Saúl, y siempre comerás en mi mesa”.
Y díjole David: No tengas temor, porque yo á la verdad haré contigo misericordia por amor de Jonathán tu padre, y te haré volver todas las tierras de Saúl tu padre; y tú comerás siempre pan á mi mesa.
And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
David said to him, “Don’t be afraid, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your father. You will eat bread at my table continually.”
Mefi-boset se inclinó y dijo: “¿Quién soy yo, tu siervo, para que te preocupes de un perro muerto como yo?”
Y él inclinándose, dijo: ¿Quién es tu siervo, para que mires á un perro muerto como yo?
And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?
He bowed down, and said, “What is your servant, that you should look at such a dead dog as I am?”
Entonces el rey llamó a Siba, el siervo de Saúl, y le dijo: “Le he dado al nieto de tu amo todo lo que pertenecía a Saúl y a su familia.
Entonces el rey llamó á Siba, siervo de Saúl, y díjole: Todo lo que fué de Saúl y de toda su casa, yo lo he dado al hijo de tu señor.
Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master’s son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.
Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said to him, “All that belonged to Saul and to all his house I have given to your master’s son.
Tú y tus hijos y los trabajadores deben cultivar la tierra para él y traer el producto, para que el nieto de tu amo tenga comida. Pero Mefi-boset, el nieto de tu amo, comerá siempre en mi mesa”. Siba tenía quince hijos y veinte trabajadores.
Tú pues le labrarás las tierras, tú con tus hijos, y tus siervos, y encerrarás los frutos, para que el hijo de tu señor tenga con qué mantenerse; y Mephi-boseth el hijo de tu señor comerá siempre pan á mi mesa. Y tenía Siba quince hijos y veinte siervos.
Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master’s son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master’s son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
Till the land for him—you, your sons, and your servants. Bring in the harvest, that your master’s son may have bread to eat; but Mephibosheth your master’s son will always eat bread at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
Entonces Siba le respondió al rey: “Mi señor el rey, tu siervo hará todo lo que le has ordenado”. Así que Mefi-boset comía en la mesa de David como uno de los hijos del rey.
Y respondió Siba al rey: Conforme á todo lo que ha mandado mi señor el rey á su siervo, así lo hará tu siervo. Mephi-boseth, dijo el rey, comerá á mi mesa, como uno de los hijos del rey.
Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king’s sons.
Then Ziba said to the king, “According to all that my lord the king commands his servant, so your servant will do.” So Mephibosheth ate at the king’s table like one of the king’s sons.
Mefi-boset tenía un hijo pequeño llamado Mica. Todos los que vivían en la casa de Siba se convirtieron en siervos de Mefi-boset.

And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth.

So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king’s table; and was lame on both his feet.
