que no abandonéis ligeramente vuestros primeros sentimientos, ni os alarméis con supuestas revelaciones, con ciertos discursos, o con cartas que se supongan enviadas por nosotros, como si el día del Señor estuviera ya muy cercano.
EMPERO os rogamos, hermanos, cuanto á la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, y nuestro recogimiento á él,
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

No os dejéis seducir de nadie en ninguna manera; porque no vendrá este día sin que primero haya acontecido la apostasía, casi general de los fieles, y aparecido el hombre del pecado, el hijo de la perdición,
Que no os mováis fácilmente de vuestro sentimiento, ni os conturbéis ni por espíritu, ni por palabra, ni por carta como nuestra, como que el día del Señor esté cerca.
That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
not to be quickly shaken in your mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter as if from us, saying that the day of Christ has already come.
el cual se opondrá a Dios, y se alzará contra todo lo que se dice Dios, o se adora, hasta llegar a poner su asiento en el templo de Dios, dando a entender que es Dios.
No os engañe nadie en ninguna manera; porque no vendrá sin que venga antes la apostasía, y se manifieste el hombre de pecado, el hijo de perdición,
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction.
¿No os acordáis que cuando estaba todavía entre vosotros, os decía estas cosas?
Oponiéndose, y levantándose contra todo lo que se llama Dios, ó que se adora; tanto que se asiente en el templo de Dios como Dios, haciéndose parecer Dios.
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
He opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God.
Ya sabéis vosotros la causa que ahora le detiene, hasta que sea manifestado o venga en su tiempo señalado.
¿No os acordáis que cuando estaba todavía con vosotros, os decía esto?
Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
Don’t you remember that when I was still with you, I told you these things?
El hecho es que ya va obrando o formándose el misterio de iniquidad; entretanto el que está firme ahora, manténgase, hasta que sea quitado el impedimento.
Y ahora vosotros sabéis lo que impide, para que á su tiempo se manifieste.
And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
Now you know what is restraining him, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season.
Y entonces se dejará ver aquel perverso, a quien el Señor Jesús matará con el resuello o el sólo aliento de su boca, y destruirá con el resplandor de su presencia
Porque ya está obrando el misterio de iniquidad: solamente espera hasta que sea quitado de en medio el que ahora impide;
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
For the mystery of lawlessness already works. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way.
a aquel inicuo que vendrá con el poder de Satanás, con toda suerte de milagros, de señales y de prodigios falsos,
Y entonces será manifestado aquel inicuo, al cual el Señor matará con el espíritu de su boca, y destruirá con el resplandor de su venida;
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the manifestation of his coming;
y con todas las ilusiones que pueden conducir a la iniquidad a aquellos que se perderán, por no haber recibido y amado la verdad a fin de salvarse.
A aquel inicuo, cuyo advenimiento es según operación de Satanás, con grande potencia, y señales, y milagros mentirosos,
Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
Por eso Dios les enviará o permitirá que obre en ellos el artificio del error, con que crean a la mentira,
Y con todo engaño de iniquidad en los que perecen; por cuanto no recibieron el amor de la verdad para ser salvos.
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they didn’t receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
para que sean condenados todos los que no creyeron a la verdad, sino que se complacieron en la maldad o injusticia.
Por tanto, pues, les envía Dios operación de error, para que crean á la mentira;
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
Because of this, God sends them a powerful delusion, that they should believe a lie,
Mas nosotros debemos siempre dar gracias a Dios por vosotros, ¡oh hermanos amados de Dios!, por haberos Dios escogido por primicias de salvación en toda la Macedonia, mediante la santificación del espíritu y la verdadera fe que os ha dado,
Para que sean condenados todos los que no creyeron á la verdad, antes consintieron á la iniquidad.
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

a la cual os llamó así mismo por medio de nuestra buena nueva, para haceros conseguir la gloria de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
Mas nosotros debemos dar siempre gracias á Dios por vosotros, hermanos amados del Señor, de que Dios os haya escogido desde el principio para salud, por la santificación del Espíritu y fe de la verdad:
But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth,
Así que, hermanos míos, estad firmes en la fe, y mantened las tradiciones o doctrinas que habéis aprendido, ora por medio de la predicación, ora por carta nuestra.
A lo cual os llamó por nuestro evangelio, para alcanzar la gloria de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
to which he called you through our Good News, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Y nuestro Señor Jesucristo, y Dios y padre nuestro , que nos amó, y dio eterno consuelo y buena esperanza por la gracia,
Así que, hermanos, estad firmes, y retened la doctrina que habéis aprendido, sea por palabra, ó por carta nuestra.
Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
So then, brothers, stand firm and hold the traditions which you were taught by us, whether by word or by letter.
aliente y consuele vuestros corazones, y los confirme en toda obra y palabra buena.
Y el mismo Señor nuestro Jesucristo, y Dios y Padre nuestro, el cual nos amó, y nos dió consolación eterna, y buena esperanza por gracia,
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

Por último, hermanos, orad por nosotros, para que la palabra de Dios se propague más y más, sea glorificada en todo el mundo, como lo es ya entre vosotros,
Consuele vuestros corazones, y os confirme en toda buena palabra y obra.
Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
