1Übrigens, Brüder, betet für uns, daß das Wort des Herrn laufe und verherrlicht werde, wie auch bei euch,
2und daß wir errettet werden von den schlechten und bösen Menschen; denn der Glaube ist nicht aller Teil.
3Der Herr aber ist treu, der euch befestigen und vor dem Bösen bewahren wird.
4Wir haben aber im Herrn das Vertrauen zu euch, daß ihr, was wir gebieten, sowohl tut als auch tun werdet.
5Der Herr aber richte eure Herzen zu der Liebe Gottes und zu dem Ausharren des Christus!
6Wir gebieten euch aber, Brüder, im Namen unseres Herrn Jesus Christus, daß ihr euch zurückziehet von jedem Bruder, der unordentlich wandelt, und nicht nach der Überlieferung, die er von uns empfangen hat.
7Denn ihr selbst wisset, wie ihr uns nachahmen sollt; denn wir haben nicht unordentlich unter euch gewandelt,
8noch haben wir von jemand Brot umsonst gegessen, sondern wir haben mit Mühe und Beschwerde Nacht und Tag gearbeitet, um nicht jemand von euch beschwerlich zu fallen.
9Nicht daß wir nicht das Recht dazu haben, sondern auf daß wir uns selbst euch zum Vorbilde gäben, damit ihr uns nachahmet.
10Denn auch als wir bei euch waren, geboten wir euch dieses: Wenn jemand nicht arbeiten will, so soll er auch nicht essen.
11Denn wir hören, daß etliche unter euch unordentlich wandeln, indem sie nichts arbeiten, sondern fremde Dinge treiben.
12Solchen aber gebieten wir und ermahnen sie in dem Herrn Jesus Christus, daß sie, in der Stille arbeitend, ihr eigenes Brot essen.
13Ihr aber, Brüder, ermattet nicht im Gutestun.
14Wenn aber jemand unserem Wort durch den Brief nicht gehorcht, den bezeichnet und habet keinen Umgang mit ihm, auf daß er beschämt werde;
15und achtet ihn nicht als einen Feind, sondern weiset ihn zurecht als einen Bruder.
16Er selbst aber, der Herr des Friedens, gebe euch den Frieden immerdar auf alle Weise! Der Herr sei mit euch allen!
17Der Gruß mit meiner, des Paulus, Hand, welches das Zeichen in jedem Briefe ist; so schreibe ich.
18Die Gnade unseres Herrn Jesus Christus sei mit euch allen!

1RESTA, hermanos, que oréis por nosotros, que la palabra del Señor corra y sea glorificada así como entre vosotros:
2Y que seamos librados de hombres importunos y malos; porque no es de todos la fe.
3Mas fiel es el Señor, que os confirmará y guardará del mal.
4Y tenemos confianza de vosotros en el Señor, que hacéis y haréis lo que os hemos mandado.
5Y el Señor enderece vuestros corazones en el amor de Dios, y en la paciencia de Cristo.
6Empero os denunciamos, hermanos, en el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que os apartéis de todo hermano que anduviere fuera de orden, y no conforme á la doctrina que recibieron de nosotros:
7Porque vosotros mismos sabéis de qué manera debéis imitarnos: porque no anduvimos desordenadamente entre vosotros,
8Ni comimos el pan de ninguno de balde; antes, obrando con trabajo y fatiga de noche y de día, por no ser gravosos á ninguno de vosotros;
9No porque no tuviésemos potestad, sino por daros en nosotros un dechado, para que nos imitaseis.
10Porque aun estando con vosotros, os denunciábamos esto: Que si alguno no quisiere trabajar, tampoco coma.
11Porque oímos que andan algunos entre vosotros fuera de orden, no trabajando en nada, sino ocupados en curiosear.
12Y á los tales requerimos y rogamos por nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que, trabajando con reposo, coman su pan.
13Y vosotros, hermanos, no os canséis de hacer bien.
14Y si alguno no obedeciere á nuestra palabra por carta, notad al tal, y no os juntéis con él, para que se avergüence.
15Mas no lo tengáis como á enemigo, sino amonestadle como á hermano.
16Y el mismo Señor de paz os dé siempre paz en toda manera. El Señor sea con todos vosotros.
17Salud de mi mano, Pablo, que es mi signo en toda carta mía: así escribo.
18La gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sea con todos vosotros. Amén. La segunda Epístola á los Tesalonicenses fué escrita de Atenas.

1Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
2And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
3But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
4And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
5And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
6Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
7For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
8Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
9Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
10For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
11For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
12Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
13But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
14And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
15Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
16Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
17The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.
18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

1Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified, even as also with you,
2and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and evil men; for not all have faith.
3But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
4We have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you both do and will do the things we command.
5May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and into the perseverance of Christ.
6Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother who walks in rebellion and not after the tradition which they received from us.
7For you know how you ought to imitate us. For we didn’t behave ourselves rebelliously among you,
8neither did we eat bread from anyone’s hand without paying for it, but in labor and travail worked night and day, that we might not burden any of you.
9This was not because we don’t have the right, but to make ourselves an example to you, that you should imitate us.
10For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: “If anyone is not willing to work, don’t let him eat.”
11For we hear of some who walk among you in rebellion, who don’t work at all, but are busybodies.
12Now those who are that way, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that they work with quietness and eat their own bread.
13But you, brothers, don’t be weary in doing what is right.
14If any man doesn’t obey our word in this letter, note that man and have no company with him, to the end that he may be ashamed.
15Don’t count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
16Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with you all.
