y nos veamos libres de los díscolos y malos hombres, porque al fin es de todos el alcanzar la fe.
RESTA, hermanos, que oréis por nosotros, que la palabra del Señor corra y sea glorificada así como entre vosotros:
Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:

Pero fiel es Dios, que os fortalecerá y defenderá del espíritu maligno.
Y que seamos librados de hombres importunos y malos; porque no es de todos la fe.
And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and evil men; for not all have faith.
Y así confiamos en el Señor, que vosotros hacéis ya ahora lo que ordenamos en esta carta, y que lo haréis en adelante.
Mas fiel es el Señor, que os confirmará y guardará del mal.
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

El Señor entretanto dirija vuestros corazones en el amor de Dios y en la paciencia de Cristo .
Y tenemos confianza de vosotros en el Señor, que hacéis y haréis lo que os hemos mandado.
And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
We have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you both do and will do the things we command.
Por lo que os comunicamos, hermanos, en nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que os apartéis de cualquiera de entre vuestros hermanos que proceda desordenadamente, y no conforme a la tradición o enseñanza que ha recibido de nosotros.
Y el Señor enderece vuestros corazones en el amor de Dios, y en la paciencia de Cristo.
And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and into the perseverance of Christ.
Pues bien sabéis vosotros mismos lo que debéis hacer para imitarnos, por cuanto no anduvimos desordenadamente o causando inquietudes entre vosotros;
Empero os denunciamos, hermanos, en el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que os apartéis de todo hermano que anduviere fuera de orden, y no conforme á la doctrina que recibieron de nosotros:
Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother who walks in rebellion and not after the tradition which they received from us.
ni comimos el pan de balde a costa de otro, sino con trabajo y fatiga, trabajando de noche y de día para ganar nuestro sustento, por no ser gravosos a ninguno de vosotros.
Porque vosotros mismos sabéis de qué manera debéis imitarnos: porque no anduvimos desordenadamente entre vosotros,
For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
For you know how you ought to imitate us. For we didn’t behave ourselves rebelliously among you,
No porque no tuviésemos potestad para hacerlo, sino a fin de daros en nuestra persona un dechado para imitar.
Ni comimos el pan de ninguno de balde; antes, obrando con trabajo y fatiga de noche y de día, por no ser gravosos á ninguno de vosotros;
Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
neither did we eat bread from anyone’s hand without paying for it, but in labor and travail worked night and day, that we might not burden any of you.
Así es que aun estando entre vosotros, os comunicábamos esto: Quien no quiere trabajar, tampoco coma.
No porque no tuviésemos potestad, sino por daros en nosotros un dechado, para que nos imitaseis.
Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
This was not because we don’t have the right, but to make ourselves an example to you, that you should imitate us.
Porque hemos oído que andan entre vosotros algunos bulliciosos, que no entienden en otra cosa que en indagar lo que no les importa.
Porque aun estando con vosotros, os denunciábamos esto: Que si alguno no quisiere trabajar, tampoco coma.
For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: “If anyone is not willing to work, don’t let him eat.”
Pues a éstos los apercibimos, y les rogamos encarecidamente por nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que trabajando quietamente en sus casas, coman así su propio pan o el que ellos se ganen.
Porque oímos que andan algunos entre vosotros fuera de orden, no trabajando en nada, sino ocupados en curiosear.
For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
For we hear of some who walk among you in rebellion, who don’t work at all, but are busybodies.
Vosotros, hermanos, de vuestra parte no os canséis de hacer bien.
Y á los tales requerimos y rogamos por nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que, trabajando con reposo, coman su pan.
Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
Now those who are that way, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that they work with quietness and eat their own bread.
Y si alguno no obedeciere lo que ordenamos en nuestra carta, tildadle al tal, y no converséis con él, para que se avergüence y enmiende;
Y vosotros, hermanos, no os canséis de hacer bien.
But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
But you, brothers, don’t be weary in doing what is right.
mas no le miréis como a enemigo, sino corregidle como hermano con amor y dulzura.
Y si alguno no obedeciere á nuestra palabra por carta, notad al tal, y no os juntéis con él, para que se avergüence.
And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
If any man doesn’t obey our word in this letter, note that man and have no company with him, to the end that he may be ashamed.
Así el mismo Señor y autor de la paz os conceda siempre paz en todas partes. El Señor sea con todos vosotros.
Mas no lo tengáis como á enemigo, sino amonestadle como á hermano.
Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

El saludo de mi propio puño: Pablo; lo cual sirve de contraseña en toda carta mía; así escribo, o firmo,
Y el mismo Señor de paz os dé siempre paz en toda manera. El Señor sea con todos vosotros.
