Ich, Paulus, ein Apostel Christi Jesu durch den Willen Gottes auf Grund der Verheißung des Lebens (das) in Christus Jesus (begründet ist),

sende meinen Gruß dem Timotheus, meinem geliebten (Glaubens-)Kinde: Gnade, Barmherzigkeit und Friede (sei mit dir) von Gott dem Vater und unserm Herrn Christus Jesus!

A Timoteo, amado hijo: Gracia, misericordia, y paz de Dios el Padre y de Jesucristo nuestro Señor.

To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ich bin meinem Gott, dem ich von meinen Vorfahren her mit reinem Gewissen diene, dankbar dafür, wie unablässig ich deiner in meinen Gebeten bei Tag und Nacht gedenke.

Doy gracias á Dios, al cual sirvo desde mis mayores con limpia conciencia, de que sin cesar tengo memoria de ti en mis oraciones noche y día;

I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

Ich sehne mich dabei in der Erinnerung an deine Tränen nach einem Wiedersehen mit dir, um mich mit ganzem Herzen freuen zu können,

Deseando verte, acordándome de tus lágrimas, para ser lleno de gozo;

Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;

longing to see you, remembering your tears, that I may be filled with joy;

wenn ich einen neuen Eindruck von deinem aufrichtigen Glauben empfange, der zuerst in deiner Großmutter Lois und deiner Mutter Eunike gewohnt hat und (jetzt), wie ich überzeugt bin, auch in dir (wohnt).

Trayendo á la memoria la fe no fingida que hay en ti, la cual residió primero en tu abuela Loida, y en tu madre Eunice; y estoy cierto que en ti también.

When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

having been reminded of the sincere faith that is in you, which lived first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, in you also.

Aus diesem Grunde erinnere ich dich mahnend daran, die Gnadengabe Gottes, die dir infolge meiner Handauflegung zuteil geworden ist, zu heller Flamme zu entfachen;

Por lo cual te aconsejo que despiertes el don de Dios, que está en ti por la imposición de mis manos.

Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

For this cause, I remind you that you should stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

denn Gott hat uns nicht einen Geist der Verzagtheit gegeben, sondern der Kraft und der Liebe und der Selbstzucht.

Porque no nos ha dado Dios el espíritu de temor, sino el de fortaleza, y de amor, y de templanza.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

So schäme dich also nicht, Zeugnis von unserm Herrn abzulegen; (schäme dich) auch meiner nicht, der ich um seinetwillen ein Gefangener bin, sondern nimm an den Leiden für die (Verkündigung der) Heilsbotschaft teil nach Maßgabe der Kraft Gottes,

Por tanto no te avergüences del testimonio de nuestro Señor, ni de mí, preso suyo; antes sé participante de los trabajos del evangelio según la virtud de Dios,

Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

Therefore don’t be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner; but endure hardship for the Good News according to the power of God,

der uns errettet hat und berufen mit einer heiligen Berufung, nicht auf Grund unserer Werke, sondern nach seinem Vorsatz und nach seiner Gnade, die uns in Christus Jesus vor ewigen Zeiten verliehen,

Que nos salvó y llamó con vocación santa, no conforme á nuestras obras, mas según el intento suyo y gracia, la cual nos es dada en Cristo Jesús antes de los tiempos de los siglos,

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

jetzt aber durch die Erscheinung unsers Retters Jesus Christus geoffenbart worden ist. Der hat die Macht des Todes vernichtet, dafür aber Leben und unvergängliches Wesen ans Licht gebracht durch die Heilsbotschaft,

Mas ahora es manifestada por la aparición de nuestro Salvador Jesucristo, el cual quitó la muerte, y sacó á la luz la vida y la inmortalidad por el evangelio;

But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

für die ich meinerseits zum Herold, zum Apostel und zum Lehrer bestellt worden bin.

Del cual yo soy puesto predicador, y apóstol, y maestro de los Gentiles.

Where unto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

Das ist auch die Ursache meiner jetzigen Leiden, deren ich mich aber nicht schäme; denn ich weiß, wer es ist, auf den ich mein Vertrauen gesetzt habe, und bin dessen gewiß, daß er stark genug ist, mein mir anvertrautes Gut bis auf jenen Tag zu bewahren.

Por lo cual asimismo padezco esto: mas no me avergüenzo; porque yo sé á quien he creído, y estoy cierto que es poderoso para guardar mi depósito para aquel día.

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Als Vorbild gesunder Lehren halte die fest, welche du von mir gehört hast, im Glauben und in der Liebe, die in Christus Jesus wurzeln.

Retén la forma de las sanas palabras que de mí oíste, en la fe y amor que es en Cristo Jesús.

Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Hold the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Bewahre das dir anvertraute kostbare Gut durch den heiligen Geist, der in uns wohnt!

Guarda el buen depósito por el Espíritu Santo que habita en nosotros.

That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.

Das weißt du (bereits), daß alle in der Provinz Asien mir den Rücken gekehrt haben, unter ihnen Phygelus und Hermogenes.

Ya sabes esto, que me han sido contrarios todos los que son en Asia, de los cuales son Figello y Hermógenes.

This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.

Der Herr erweise seine Barmherzigkeit dem Hause des Onesiphorus; denn er hat mich oft erquickt und meiner Ketten sich nicht geschämt,

The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:

sondern nach seiner Ankunft in Rom eifrig nach mir gesucht und mich auch ausfindig gemacht.

Der Herr (Jesus) lasse ihn bei (Gott) dem Herrn an jenem Tage Barmherzigkeit finden! Wie viele wichtige Dienste er (uns) außerdem in Ephesus geleistet hat, weißt du selbst am besten.

Déle el Señor que halle misericordia cerca del Señor en aquel día. Y cuánto nos ayudó en Efeso, tú lo sabes mejor.

The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.

(the Lord grant to him to find the Lord’s mercy in that day); and in how many things he served at Ephesus, you know very well.
