und strafe die Widerspenstigen, ob ihnen Gott dermaleinst Buße gabe die Wahrheit zu erkennen,

Que con mansedumbre corrija á los que se oponen: si quizá Dios les dé que se arrepientan para conocer la verdad,

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

in gentleness correcting those who oppose him. Perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,
