Toi donc, mon fils, sois fortifié dans la grâce qui est en Jésus- Christ.

PUES tú, hijo mío, esfuérzate en la gracia que es en Cristo Jesús.

Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

You therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

Et les choses que tu as entendues de moi devant plusieurs témoins, commets-les à des personnes fidèles, qui soient capables de les enseigner aussi à d’autres.

Y lo que has oído de mí entre muchos testigos, esto encarga á los hombres fieles que serán idóneos para enseñar también á otros.

And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same things to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

Toi donc, endure les travaux, comme un bon soldat de Jésus-Christ.

Tú pues, sufre trabajos como fiel soldado de Jesucristo.

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

Nul qui va à la guerre ne s’embarrasse des affaires de cette vie, afin qu’il plaise à celui qui l’a enrôlé pour la guerre.

Ninguno que milita se embaraza en los negocios de la vida; á fin de agradar á aquel que lo tomó por soldado.

No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

No soldier on duty entangles himself in the affairs of life, that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.

De même, si quelqu’un combat dans la lice, il n’est point couronné s’il n’a pas combattu selon les lois.

Y aun también el que lidia, no es coronado si no lidiare legítimamente.

And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

Also, if anyone competes in athletics, he isn’t crowned unless he has competed by the rules.

Il faut aussi que le laboureur travaille premièrement, et ensuite il recueille les fruits.

El labrador, para recibir los frutos, es menester que trabaje primero.

The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.

The farmer who labors must be the first to get a share of the crops.

Considère ce que je dis ; or le Seigneur te donne de l’intelligence en toutes choses.

Considera lo que digo; y el Señor te dé entendimiento en todo.

Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.

Souviens-toi que Jésus-Christ, qui est de la semence de David, est ressuscité des morts, selon mon Evangile.

Acuérdate que Jesucristo, el cual fué de la simiente de David, resucitó de los muertos conforme á mi evangelio;

Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:

Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the offspring of David, according to my Good News,

Pour lequel je souffre beaucoup de maux, jusqu’à être mis dans les chaînes, comme un malfaiteur ; mais cependant la parole de Dieu n’est point liée.

En el que sufro trabajo, hasta las prisiones á modo de malhechor; mas la palabra de Dios no está presa.

Where in I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

in which I suffer hardship to the point of chains as a criminal. But God’s word isn’t chained.

C’est pourquoi je souffre tout pour l’amour des élus, afin qu’eux aussi obtiennent le salut qui est en Jésus-Christ, avec la gloire éternelle.

Por tanto, todo lo sufro por amor de los escogidos, para que ellos también consigan la salud que es en Cristo Jesús con gloria eterna.

Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

Therefore I endure all things for the chosen ones’ sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

Cette parole est certaine, que si nous mourons avec lui, nous vivrons aussi avec lui.

Es palabra fiel: Que si somos muertos con él, también viviremos con él:

It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:

This saying is trustworthy: “For if we died with him, we will also live with him.

Si nous souffrons avec lui, nous régnerons aussi avec lui ; si nous le renions, il nous reniera aussi.

Si sufrimos, también reinaremos con él: si negáremos, él también nos negará:

If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

If we endure, we will also reign with him. If we deny him, he also will deny us.

Si nous sommes des perfides, il demeure fidèle : il ne se peut renier soi-même.

Si fuéremos infieles, él permanece fiel: no se puede negar á sí mismo.

If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he can not deny himself.

If we are faithless, he remains faithful; for he can’t deny himself.”

Remets ces choses en mémoire, protestant devant le Seigneur qu’on ne dispute point de paroles, qui est une chose dont il ne revient aucun profit, mais elle est la ruine des auditeurs.

Recuérdales esto, protestando delante del Señor que no contiendan en palabras, lo cual para nada aprovecha, antes trastorna á los oyentes.

Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

Remind them of these things, charging them in the sight of the Lord that they don’t argue about words to no profit, to the subverting of those who hear.

Etudie-toi de te rendre approuvé à Dieu, ouvrier sans reproche, enseignant purement la parole de la vérité.

Procura con diligencia presentarte á Dios aprobado, como obrero que no tiene de qué avergonzarse, que traza bien la palabra de verdad.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth.

Mais réprime les disputes vaines et profanes, car elles passeront plus avant dans l’impiété ;

Mas evita profanas y vanas parlerías; porque muy adelante irán en la impiedad.

But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

But shun empty chatter, for it will go further in ungodliness,

Et leur parole rongera comme une gangrène, et entre ceux-là sont Hyménée et Philète ;

Y la palabra de ellos carcomerá como gangrena: de los cuales es Himeneo y Fileto;

And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

and those words will consume like gangrene, of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus:

Qui se sont écartés de la vérité, en disant que la résurrection est déjà arrivée, et qui renversent la foi de quelques-uns.

Que se han descaminado de la verdad, diciendo que la resurrección es ya hecha, y trastornan la fe de algunos.

Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

men who have erred concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past, and overthrowing the faith of some.

Toutefois le fondement de Dieu demeure ferme, ayant ce sceau : le Seigneur connaît ceux qui sont siens ; et, quiconque invoque le nom de Christ, qu’il se retire de l’iniquité.

Pero el fundamento de Dios está firme, teniendo este sello: Conoce el Señor á los que son suyos; y: Apártese de iniquidad todo aquel que invoca el nombre de Cristo.

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

However, God’s firm foundation stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let every one who names the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.”

Or dans une grande maison il n’y a pas seulement des vaisseaux d’or et d’argent, mais il y en a aussi de bois et de terre : les uns à honneur, et les autres à déshonneur.

Mas en una casa grande, no solamente hay vasos de oro y de plata, sino también de madera y de barro: y asimismo unos para honra, y otros para deshonra.

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

Now in a large house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of clay. Some are for honor and some for dishonor.

Si quelqu’un donc se purifie de ces choses, il sera un vaisseau sanctifié à honneur, et utile au Seigneur, et préparé à toute bonne oeuvre.

Así que, si alguno se limpiare de estas cosas, será vaso para honra, santificado, y útil para los usos del Señor, y aparejado para todo buena obra.

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

If anyone therefore purges himself from these, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, and suitable for the master’s use, prepared for every good work.

Fuis aussi les désirs de la jeunesse, et recherche la justice, la foi, la charité, et la paix avec ceux qui invoquent d’un coeur pur le Seigneur.

Huye también los deseos juveniles; y sigue la justicia, la fe, la caridad, la paz, con los que invocan al Señor de puro corazón.

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Et rejette les questions folles, et qui sont sans instruction, sachant qu’elles ne font que produire des querelles.

Empero las cuestiones necias y sin sabiduría desecha, sabiendo que engendran contiendas.

But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

But refuse foolish and ignorant questionings, knowing that they generate strife.

Or il ne faut pas que le serviteur du Seigneur soit querelleur, mais doux envers tout le monde, propre à enseigner, supportant patiemment les mauvais.

Que el siervo del Señor no debe ser litigioso, sino manso para con todos, apto para enseñar, sufrido;

And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,

The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle toward all, able to teach, patient,

Enseignant avec douceur ceux qui ont un sentiment contraire, afin d’essayer si quelque jour Dieu leur donnera la repentance pour reconnaître la vérité ;

Que con mansedumbre corrija á los que se oponen: si quizá Dios les dé que se arrepientan para conocer la verdad,

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

in gentleness correcting those who oppose him. Perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,

Et afin qu’ils se réveillent pour sortir des pièges du Démon, par lequel ils ont été pris pour faire sa volonté.

Y se zafen del lazo del diablo, en que están cautivos á voluntad de él.

And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

and they may recover themselves out of the devil’s snare, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
