For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

meine Verfolgung, meine Leiden, welche mir widerfahren sind zu Antiochien, zu Ikonien, zu Lystra, welche Verfolgung ich da ertrug: und aus allen hat mich der HERR erlöset.

Sin afecto, desleales, calumniadores, destemplados, crueles, aborrecedores de lo bueno,

Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, not lovers of good,

Und alle, die gottselig leben wollen in Christo Jesu, müssen Verfolgung leiden.

Traidores, arrebatados, hinchados, amadores de los deleites más que de Dios;

Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

Mit den bösen Menschen aber und verführerischen wird's je länger, je ärger, verführen und werden verführet.

Teniendo apariencia de piedad, mas habiendo negado la eficacia de ella: y á éstos evita.

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Und weil du von Kind auf die Heilige Schrift weißt, kann dich dieselbige unterweisen zur Seligkeit durch den Glauben an Christum Jesum.

Persecuciones, aflicciones, cuales me sobrevinieron en Antioquía, en Iconio, en Listra, cuales persecuciones he sufrido; y de todas me ha librado el Señor.

Denn es wird eine Zeit sein, da sie die heilsame Lehre nicht leiden werden, sondern nach ihren eigenen Lüsten werden sie sich selbst Lehrer aufladen, nach dem ihnen die Ohren jucken;

und werden die Ohren von der Wahrheit wenden und sich zu den Fabeln kehren.

Mas los malos hombres y los engañadores, irán de mal en peor, engañando y siendo engañados.

But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Du aber sei nüchtern allenthalben. Leide dich, tu das Werk eines evangelischen Predigers, richte dein Amt redlich aus.

Empero persiste tú en lo que has aprendido y te persuadiste, sabiendo de quién has aprendido;

But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

Denn ich werde schon geopfert, und die Zeit meines Abscheidens ist vorhanden.
