1Te pido, ante Dios y ante Cristo Jesús, que juzgará a los vivos y a los muertos cuando venga a establecer su reino:
2Que prediques la palabra de Dios, sea conveniente o no, y dile a las personas lo que están haciendo mal; dales consejo y ánimo. Y enséñales esto con mucha paciencia.
3Pues viene el tiempo cuando las personas no se interesarán en escuchar la verdadera enseñanza. Sino que tendrán curiosidad por oír algo diferente, y se rodearán de maestros que les enseñen lo que quieren oír.
4Dejarán de escuchar la verdad y andarán errantes, siguiendo mitos.
5Debes mantenerte alerta todo el tiempo. Haz frente a las dificultades, trabaja en la predicación de la buena noticia, y cumple tu ministerio.
6Pues estoy a punto de ser sacrificado, y se aproxima la hora de mi muerte.
7He peleado la buena batalla, he terminado la carrera, y he mantenido mi fe en Dios.
8Ahora tengo un premio reservado, la corona de la vida, conforme a lo que es justo. El Señor, (que es el juez que siempre hace justicia), me dará ese premio ese Día. Y no solo a mí, sino a todos los que anhelan su venida.
9Por favor, procura venir a visitarme tan pronto como puedas.
10Demas me ha abandonado porque tiene más amor por las cosas de este mundo, y se fue a Tesalónica. Crescente se fue a Galacia, y Tito a Dalmacia.
11Solamente Lucas está aquí conmigo. Trae contigo a Marcos, porque él puede ayudarme en mi obra.
12Envié a Tíquico a Éfeso.
13Por favor, cuando vengas, trae el abrigo que dejé donde Carpo en Troas, y los libros, especialmente los pergaminos.
14Alexander, el herrero, me causó muchos problemas. Que Dios lo juzgue por lo que hizo.
15Cuídate tú también de él, porque ejerció gran oposición a lo que decíamos.
16La primera vez que tuve que defenderme, nadie estuvo allí acompañándome, sino que todos me abandonaron. Ojalá no se les tenga en cuenta.
17Pero el Señor estuvo conmigo y me dio fuerzas para declarar todo el mensaje, de modo que los extranjeros pudieron oírlo. ¡Fui rescatado de la boca del león!
18El Señor me rescatará de todas las cosas malas que me han hecho, y me llevará salvo a su reino. Porque suya es la gloria por siempre y para siempre. Amén.
19Mis saludos a Prisca y a Aquiles, y a la familia de Onesíforo.
20Erasto se quedó en Corinto, y dejé a Trófimo en Mileto porque se enfermó.
21Por favor, procura venir antes del invierno. Eubulo te envía sus saludos, así como Pudente, Lino, Claudia y todos los hermanos y hermanas también.
22Que el Señor esté contigo. Que su gracia esté con todos ustedes.

1REQUIERO yo pues delante de Dios, y del Señor Jesucristo, que ha de juzgar á los vivos y los muertos en su manifestación y en su reino,
2Que prediques la palabra; que instes á tiempo y fuera de tiempo; redarguye, reprende, exhorta con toda paciencia y doctrina.
3Porque vendrá tiempo cuando no sufrirán la sana doctrina; antes, teniendo comezón de oir, se amontonarán maestros conforme á sus concupiscencias,
4Y apartarán de la verdad el oído, y se volverán á las fábulas.
5Pero tú vela en todo, soporta las aflicciones, haz la obra de evangelista, cumple tu ministerio.
6Porque yo ya estoy para ser ofrecido, y el tiempo de mi partida está cercano.
7He peleado la buena batalla, he acabado la carrera, he guardado la fe.
8Por lo demás, me está guardada la corona de justicia, la cual me dará el Señor, juez justo, en aquel día; y no sólo á mí, sino también á todos los que aman su venida.
9Procura venir presto á mí:
10Porque Demas me ha desamparado, amando este siglo, y se ha ido á Tesalónica; Crescente á Galacia, Tito á Dalmacia.
11Lucas solo está conmigo. Toma á Marcos, y tráele contigo; porque me es útil para el ministerio.
12A Tychîco envié á Efeso.
13Trae, cuando vinieres, el capote que dejé en Troas en casa de Carpo: y los libros, mayormente los pergaminos.
14Alejandro el calderero me ha causado muchos males: el Señor le pague conforme á sus hechos.
15Guárdate tú también de él; que en grande manera ha resistido á nuestras palabras.
16En mi primera defensa ninguno me ayudó, antes me desampararon todos: no les sea imputado.
17Mas el Señor me ayudó, y me esforzó para que por mí fuese cumplida la predicación, y todos los Gentiles oyesen; y fuí librado de la boca del león.
18Y el Señor me librará de toda obra mala, y me preservará para su reino celestial: al cual sea gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.
19Saluda á Prisca y á Aquila, y á la casa de Onesíforo.
20Erasto se quedó en Corinto; y á Trófimo dejé en Mileto enfermo.
21Procura venir antes del invierno. Eubulo te saluda, y Pudente, y Lino, y Claudia, y todos los hermanos.
22El Señor Jesucristo sea con tu espíritu. La gracia sea con vosotros. Amén. La segunda epístola á Timoteo, el cual fué el primer obispo ordenado en Efeso, fué escrita de Roma, cuando Pablo fué presentado la segunda vez á César Nerón.

1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
6For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
9Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:
10For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
11Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.
12And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.
13The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.
14Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
15Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.
16At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
17Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1I command you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his Kingdom:
2preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and teaching.
3For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts,
4and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn away to fables.
5But you be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill your ministry.
6For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come.
7I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith.
8From now on, the crown of righteousness is stored up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.
9Be diligent to come to me soon,
10for Demas left me, having loved this present world, and went to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia; and Titus to Dalmatia.
11Only Luke is with me. Take Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for service.
12But I sent Tychicus to Ephesus.
