Quando eu for, contarei a você algumas das coisas que ele está fazendo, e as coisas perversas que anda falando a meu respeito, e a linguagem insultuosa que está usando. Ele não somente se recusa a acolher os irmãos em viagem, mas diz aos outros que não o façam e procura expulsá-los da igreja.
Por esta causa, si yo viniere, recordaré las obras que hace parlando con palabras maliciosas contra nosotros; y no contento con estas cosas, no recibe á los hermanos, y prohibe á los que los quieren recibir, y los echa de la iglesia.
Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.
Therefore, if I come, I will call attention to his deeds which he does, unjustly accusing us with wicked words. Not content with this, he doesn’t receive the brothers himself, and those who would, he forbids and throws out of the assembly.
Querido amigo, não deixe que este mau exemplo influencie você. Siga só o que é bom. Lembre-se que aqueles que fazem o bem provam que são filhos de Deus; e aqueles que continuam no mal provam que estão longe de Deus.
Amado, no sigas lo que es malo, sino lo que es bueno. El que hace bien es de Dios: mas el que hace mal, no ha visto á Dios.
Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
Beloved, don’t imitate that which is evil, but that which is good. He who does good is of God. He who does evil hasn’t seen God.
Entretanto, todos falam bem de Demétrio, inclusive a própria verdade testemunha a seu favor. Nós também podemos dizer o mesmo dele, e você sabe que falamos a verdade.
Todos dan testimonio de Demetrio, y aun la misma verdad: y también nosotros damos testimonio; y vosotros habéis conocido que nuestro testimonio es verdadero.
Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true.
