In Cäsarea aber lebte (damals) ein Mann namens Kornelius, ein Hauptmann bei der sogenannten Italischen Abteilung;

Y HABÍA un varón en Cesarea llamado Cornelio, centurión de la compañía que se llamaba la Italiana,

There was a certain man in Cæsarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

Now there was a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment,

er war fromm und gottesfürchtig mit seinem ganzen Hause, tat dem (jüdischen) Volke viel Gutes durch seine Mildtätigkeit und betete ohne Unterlaß zu Gott.

Pío y temeroso de Dios con toda su casa, y que hacía muchas limosnas al pueblo, y oraba á Dios siempre.

A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

a devout man, and one who feared God with all his house, who gave gifts for the needy generously to the people, and always prayed to God.

Dieser Mann sah (eines Tages) in einem Gesicht um die neunte Tagesstunde deutlich einen Engel Gottes bei sich eintreten, der ihn anredete: »Kornelius!«

Este vió en visión manifiestamente, como á la hora nona del día, que un ángel de Dios entraba á él, y le decía: Cornelio.

He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.

At about the ninth hour of the day, he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God coming to him and saying to him, “Cornelius!”

Dieser blickte ihn starr an und fragte erschrocken: »Was soll ich, Herr?« Jener antwortete ihm: »Deine Gebete und deine Almosen sind zu Gott emporgestiegen, und er gedenkt ihrer wohl.

Y él, puestos en él los ojos, espantado, dijo: ¿Qué es, Señor? Y díjole: Tus oraciones y tus limosnas han subido en memoria á la presencia de Dios.

And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

He, fastening his eyes on him and being frightened, said, “What is it, Lord?” He said to him, “Your prayers and your gifts to the needy have gone up for a memorial before God.

Und nun sende Boten nach Joppe und laß einen gewissen Simon mit dem Beinamen Petrus zu dir kommen;

Envía pues ahora hombres á Joppe, y haz venir á un Simón, que tiene por sobrenombre Pedro.

And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

Now send men to Joppa, and get Simon, who is also called Peter.

der ist als Gast bei einem Gerber Simon, dessen Haus am Meere liegt.«

Este posa en casa de un Simón, curtidor, que tiene su casa junto á la mar: él te dirá lo que te conviene hacer.

He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

He is staying with a tanner named Simon, whose house is by the seaside.

Als nun der Engel, der mit ihm gesprochen hatte, verschwunden war, rief Kornelius zwei von seinen Dienern und einen frommen Soldaten aus der Zahl der Mannschaften, die ihn persönlich zu bedienen hatten,

E ido el ángel que hablaba con Cornelio, llamó dos de sus criados, y un devoto soldado de los que le asistían;

And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

When the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier of those who waited on him continually.

teilte ihnen alles mit und sandte sie nach Joppe.

A los cuales, después de habérselo contado todo, los envió á Joppe.

And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

Having explained everything to them, he sent them to Joppa.

Am folgenden Tage aber, als diese unterwegs waren und sich schon der Stadt näherten, stieg Petrus um die Mittagszeit auf das Dach des Hauses hinauf, um dort zu beten.

Y al día siguiente, yendo ellos su camino, y llegando cerca de la ciudad, Pedro subió á la azotea á orar, cerca de la hora de sexta;

On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

Now on the next day as they were on their journey and got close to the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray at about noon.

Da wurde er hungrig und wünschte, etwas zu genießen. Während man es ihm nun zubereitete, kam eine Verzückung über ihn:

Y aconteció que le vino una grande hambre, y quiso comer; pero mientras disponían, sobrevínole un éxtasis;

And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

He became hungry and desired to eat, but while they were preparing, he fell into a trance.

er sah den Himmel offen stehen und einen Behälter herabkommen wie ein großes Stück Leinwand, das an den vier Zipfeln zur Erde herabgelassen wurde.

Y vió el cielo abierto, y que descendía un vaso, como un gran lienzo, que atado de los cuatro cabos era bajado á la tierra;

And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

He saw heaven opened and a certain container descending to him, like a great sheet let down by four corners on the earth,

Darin befanden sich alle Arten vierfüßiger und kriechender Tiere der Erde und Vögel des Himmels.

En el cual había de todos los animales cuadrúpedos de la tierra, y reptiles, y aves del cielo.

Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

in which were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, reptiles, and birds of the sky.

Nun rief eine Stimme ihm zu: »Stehe auf, Petrus, schlachte und iß!«

Y le vino una voz: Levántate, Pedro, mata y come.

And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

A voice came to him, “Rise, Peter, kill and eat!”

Petrus aber antwortete: »Nicht doch, Herr! Denn noch nie habe ich etwas Unheiliges und Unreines genossen.«

Entonces Pedro dijo: Señor, no; porque ninguna cosa común é inmunda he comido jamás.

But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

But Peter said, “Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.”

Da rief zum zweitenmal eine Stimme ihm zu: »Was Gott gereinigt hat, das erkläre du nicht für unrein!«

Y volvió la voz hacia él la segunda vez: Lo que Dios limpió, no lo llames tú común.

And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

A voice came to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed, you must not call unclean.”

Dies wiederholte sich dreimal; dann wurde der Behälter sogleich wieder in den Himmel emporgezogen.

Y esto fué hecho por tres veces; y el vaso volvió á ser recogido en el cielo.

This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

This was done three times, and immediately the thing was received up into heaven.

Als nun Petrus sich nicht zu erklären wußte, was die Erscheinung, die er gesehen hatte, zu bedeuten habe, siehe, da standen die Männer, die von Kornelius abgesandt worden waren und das Haus Simons ausfindig gemacht hatten, am Toreingang;

Y estando Pedro dudando dentro de sí qué sería la visión que había visto, he aquí, los hombres que habían sido enviados por Cornelio, que, preguntando por la casa de Simón, llegaron á la puerta.

Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,

Now while Peter was very perplexed in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon’s house, stood before the gate,

dort riefen sie und erkundigten sich, ob Simon mit dem Beinamen Petrus hier als Gast wohne.

Y llamando, preguntaron si un Simón que tenía por sobrenombre Pedro, posaba allí.

And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.

and called and asked whether Simon, who was also called Peter, was lodging there.

Während Petrus noch immer über das Gesicht nachdachte, sagte der Geist zu ihm: »Da sind drei Männer, die dich suchen.

Y estando Pedro pensando en la visión, le dijo el Espíritu: He aquí, tres hombres te buscan.

While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

While Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men seek you.

So stehe nun auf, gehe hinunter und mache dich mit ihnen ohne Bedenken auf den Weg! Denn ich habe sie gesandt.«

Levántate, pues, y desciende, y no dudes ir con ellos; porque yo los he enviado.

Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

But arise, get down, and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them.”

Petrus stieg also zu den Männern hinunter und sagte zu ihnen: »Ich bin der, den ihr sucht! Aus welchem Grunde seid ihr hergekommen?«

Entonces Pedro, descendiendo á los hombres que eran enviados por Cornelio, dijo: He aquí, yo soy el que buscáis: ¿cuál es la causa por la que habéis venido?

Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?

Peter went down to the men, and said, “Behold, I am he whom you seek. Why have you come?”

Jene antworteten: »Ein Hauptmann Kornelius, ein ehrenhafter, gottesfürchtiger und von der ganzen jüdischen Bevölkerung anerkannter Mann, hat von einem heiligen Engel die (göttliche) Weisung erhalten, dich in sein Haus kommen zu lassen und zu hören, was du ihm zu sagen hast.«

Y ellos dijeron: Cornelio, el centurión, varón justo y temeroso de Dios, y que tiene testimonio de toda la nación de los Judíos, ha recibido respuesta por un santo ángel, de hacerte venir á su casa, y oir de ti palabras.

And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

They said, “Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man and one who fears God, and well spoken of by all the nation of the Jews, was directed by a holy angel to invite you to his house, and to listen to what you say.”

Da lud Petrus sie zu sich herein und nahm sie gastlich auf. Am folgenden Tage aber machte er sich mit ihnen auf den Weg; auch einige von den Brüdern aus Joppe begleiteten ihn.

Entonces metiéndolos dentro, los hospedó. Y al día siguiente, levantándose, se fué con ellos; y le acompañaron algunos de los hermanos de Joppe.

Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

So he called them in and provided a place to stay. On the next day Peter arose and went out with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.

Tags darauf kam er in Cäsarea an, wo Kornelius sie schon erwartete und alle seine Verwandten und vertrauten Freunde zu sich eingeladen hatte.

Y al otro día entraron en Cesarea. Y Cornelio los estaba esperando, habiendo llamado á sus parientes y los amigos más familiares.

And the morrow after they entered into Cæsarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

On the next day they entered into Caesarea. Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his relatives and his near friends.

Als Petrus nun im Begriff stand, in das Haus einzutreten, kam Kornelius ihm entgegen, warf sich vor ihm nieder und bezeigte ihm seine hohe Verehrung.

Y como Pedro entró, salió Cornelio á recibirle; y derribándose á sus pies, adoró.

And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell down at his feet, and worshiped him.

Petrus aber hob ihn auf mit den Worten: »Stehe auf! Ich bin auch nur ein Mensch.«

Mas Pedro le levantó, diciendo: Levántate; yo mismo también soy hombre.

But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

But Peter raised him up, saying, “Stand up! I myself am also a man.”

Dann trat er im Gespräch mit ihm ein und traf eine zahlreiche Versammlung an,

Y hablando con él, entró, y halló á muchos que se habían juntado.

And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.

As he talked with him, he went in and found many gathered together.

zu der er sagte: »Ihr wißt, wie streng es einem Juden verboten ist, Verkehr mit jemand zu haben, der zu einem anderen Volke gehört, oder gar bei ihm einzukehren. Doch mir hat Gott gezeigt, daß man keinen Menschen als unheilig oder unrein bezeichnen darf.

Y les dijo: Vosotros sabéis que es abominable á un varón Judío juntarse ó llegarse á extranjero; mas me ha mostrado Dios que á ningún hombre llame común ó inmundo;

And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

He said to them, “You yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to join himself or come to one of another nation, but God has shown me that I shouldn’t call any man unholy or unclean.

Deshalb habe ich mich auch auf eure Einladung hin ohne Weigerung hier eingefunden. Ich möchte nun aber wissen, aus welchem Grunde ihr mich habt herkommen lassen.«

Por lo cual, llamado, he venido sin dudar. Así que pregunto: ¿por qué causa me habéis hecho venir?

Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?

Therefore I also came without complaint when I was sent for. I ask therefore, why did you send for me?”

Da antwortete Kornelius: »Vor vier Tagen, genau zu dieser Zeit, betete ich um die neunte Stunde in meinem Hause; da stand plötzlich ein Mann in einem glänzenden Gewande vor mir

Entonces Cornelio dijo: Cuatro días ha que á esta hora yo estaba ayuno; y á la hora de nona estando orando en mi casa, he aquí, un varón se puso delante de mí en vestido resplandeciente.

And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

Cornelius said, “Four days ago, I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour, I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing

und sagte: ›Kornelius, dein Gebet hat Erhörung gefunden, und deiner Almosen ist vor Gott gedacht worden.

Y dijo: Cornelio, tu oración es oída, y tus limosnas han venido en memoria en la presencia de Dios.

And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer is heard, and your gifts to the needy are remembered in the sight of God.

So sende nun nach Joppe und laß Simon, der den Beinamen Petrus führt, herrufen; der ist als Gast im Hause eines Gerbers Simon am Meer.‹

Envía pues á Joppe, y haz venir á un Simón, que tiene por sobrenombre Pedro; éste posa en casa de Simón, curtidor, junto á la mar; el cual venido, te hablará.

Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

Send therefore to Joppa and summon Simon, who is also called Peter. He is staying in the house of a tanner named Simon, by the seaside. When he comes, he will speak to you.’

Da habe ich auf der Stelle zu dir gesandt, und ich bin dir dankbar dafür, daß du gekommen bist. Jetzt haben wir nun alle uns hier vor Gottes Angesicht eingefunden, um alles zu vernehmen, was dir vom Herrn aufgetragen worden ist.«

Así que, luego envié á ti; y tú has hecho bien en venir. Ahora pues, todos nosotros estamos aquí en la presencia de Dios, para oir todo lo que Dios te ha mandado.

Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

Therefore I sent to you at once, and it was good of you to come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God to hear all things that have been commanded you by God.”

Da tat Petrus den Mund auf und sagte: »Nun erkenne ich in Wahrheit, daß Gott nicht die Person ansieht,

Entonces Pedro, abriendo su boca, dijo: Por verdad hallo que Dios no hace acepción de personas;

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

Peter opened his mouth and said, “Truly I perceive that God doesn’t show favoritism;

sondern daß in jedem Volk der, welcher ihn fürchtet und Gerechtigkeit übt, ihm angenehm ist.

Sino que de cualquiera nación que le teme y obra justicia, se agrada.

But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

but in every nation he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.

Ihr kennt das Wort, das er an die Kinder Israel hat ergehen lassen, indem er ihnen (die Heilsbotschaft vom) Frieden durch Jesus Christus verkündigen ließ: dieser ist der Herr über alle.

Envió palabra Dios á los hijos de Israel, anunciando la paz por Jesucristo; éste es el Señor de todos.

The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)

The word which he sent to the children of Israel, preaching good news of peace by Jesus Christ—he is Lord of all—

Ebenso kennt ihr die Ereignisse, die sich im ganzen jüdischen Lande zugetragen haben und von Galiläa nach der Taufe, die Johannes gepredigt hatte, ausgegangen sind,

Vosotros sabéis lo que fué divulgado por toda Judea; comenzando desde Galilea después del bautismo que Juan predicó,

That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judæa, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

you yourselves know what happened, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

nämlich wie Gott Jesus von Nazareth mit heiligem Geist und mit Kraft gesalbt hat, wie dieser dann umhergezogen ist und Gutes getan und alle geheilt hat, die vom Teufel überwältigt waren, denn Gott war mit ihm;

Cuanto á Jesús de Nazaret; cómo le ungió Dios de Espíritu Santo y de potencia; el cual anduvo haciendo bienes, y sanando á todos los oprimidos del diablo; porque Dios era con él.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

und wir sind Zeugen für alles das, was er im jüdischen Lande sowie in Jerusalem vollbracht hat. Den haben sie dann zwar ans Kreuz gehängt und getötet,

Y nosotros somos testigos de todas las cosas que hizo en la tierra de Judea, y en Jerusalem; al cual mataron colgándole en un madero.

And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:

We are witnesses of everything he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they also killed, hanging him on a tree.

aber Gott hat ihn am dritten Tage auferweckt und ihn sichtbar erscheinen lassen,

A éste levantó Dios al tercer día, é hizo que apareciese manifiesto,

Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

God raised him up the third day and gave him to be revealed,

nicht dem ganzen Volk, sondern uns, den von Gott zuvor erwählten Zeugen, die wir nach seiner Auferstehung von den Toten mit ihm zusammen gegessen und getrunken haben.

No á todo el pueblo, sino á los testigos que Dios antes había ordenado, es á saber, á nosotros que comimos y bebimos con él, después que resucitó de los muertos.

Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.

not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen before by God, to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

Und er hat uns geboten, dem Volke zu verkündigen und zu bezeugen, daß dieser der von Gott bestimmte Richter über Lebende und Tote ist.

Y nos mandó que predicásemos al pueblo, y testificásemos que él es el que Dios ha puesto por Juez de vivos y muertos.

And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that this is he who is appointed by God as the Judge of the living and the dead.

Für diesen legen alle Propheten das Zeugnis ab, daß jeder, der an ihn glaubt, Vergebung der Sünden durch seinen Namen empfängt.«

A éste dan testimonio todos los profetas, de que todos los que en él creyeren, recibirán perdón de pecados por su nombre.

To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

All the prophets testify about him, that through his name everyone who believes in him will receive remission of sins.”

Während Petrus noch in dieser Weise redete, fiel der heilige Geist auf alle, die seine Ansprache hörten.

Estando aún hablando Pedro estas palabras, el Espíritu Santo cayó sobre todos los que oían el sermón.

While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the word.

Da gerieten die Gläubigen jüdischer Herkunft, die mit Petrus gekommen waren, in das höchste Erstaunen darüber, daß auch auf die Heiden die Gabe des heiligen Geistes ausgegossen war;

Y se espantaron los fieles que eran de la circuncisión, que habían venido con Pedro, de que también sobre los Gentiles se derramase el don del Espíritu Santo.

And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

They of the circumcision who believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was also poured out on the Gentiles.

denn sie hörten sie mit Zungen reden und Gott preisen. Da sprach Petrus:

Porque los oían que hablaban en lenguas, y que magnificaban á Dios.

For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

For they heard them speaking in other languages and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,

»Kann wohl jemand diesen Leuten, die den heiligen Geist ebenso wie wir empfangen haben, das Wasser versagen, daß diese nicht getauft würden?«

Entonces respondió Pedro: ¿Puede alguno impedir el agua, para que no sean bautizados éstos que han recibido el Espíritu Santo también como nosotros?

Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

“Can anyone forbid these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just like us.”

So ordnete er denn an, daß sie im Namen Jesu Christi getauft würden. Hierauf baten sie ihn, noch einige Tage bei ihnen zu bleiben.

Y les mandó bautizar en el nombre del Señor Jesús. Entonces le rogaron que se quedase por algunos días.

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

He commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay some days.
