Eu estava orando na cidade de Jope, e vi em êxtase uma visão: um certo objeto que descia como um grande lençol, pelas quatro pontas abaixado desde o céu, e vinha até mim.
Estaba yo en la ciudad de Joppe orando, y vi en rapto de entendimiento una visión: un vaso, como un gran lienzo, que descendía, que por los cuatro cabos era abajado del cielo, y venía hasta mí.
I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:
“I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision: a certain container descending, like it was a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners. It came as far as me.
No qual, olhando eu com atenção, considerei e vi quatro quadrúpedes da terra, e animais selvagens, e répteis, e aves do céu.
En el cual como puse los ojos, consideré y vi animales terrestres de cuatro pies, y fieras, y reptiles, y aves del cielo.
Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

E eu ouvi uma voz que me dizia: Levanta-te Pedro, mata e come.

Mas eu disse: De maneira nenhuma, Senhor; porque nunca comi coisa alguma ordinária, nem coisa imunda entrou em minha boca.

E a voz me respondeu do céu pela segunda vez: O que Deus purificou, não o faças tu como ordinário.

E ele nos contou como tinha visto um anjo estar em sua casa, e tinha lhe dito: Envia alguns homens a Jope, e manda chamar a Simão, que tem por sobrenome Pedro;
El cual nos contó cómo había visto un ángel en su casa, que se paró, y le dijo: Envía á Joppe, y haz venir á un Simón que tiene por sobrenombre Pedro;
And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;
He told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house and saying to him, ‘Send to Joppa and get Simon, who is called Peter,
O qual te falará palavras, em que tu sejas salvo, e também toda a tua casa.
El cual te hablará palabras por las cuales serás salvo tú, y toda tu casa.
Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
who will speak to you words by which you will be saved, you and all your house.’
E quando comecei a falar, caiu o Espírito Santo sobre eles, assim como também no princípio tinha caído sobre nós.

E ao ouvirem estas coisas, se acalmaram, e glorificavam a Deus, dizendo: Portanto também aos gentios Deus deu arrependimento para a vida.

E sucedeu que, durante um ano completo eles se congregaram naquela igreja, e ensinavam a uma grande multidão; e em Antioquia os discípulos foram chamados pela primeira vez de cristãos.

E naqueles dias desceram de Jerusalém alguns profetas a Antioquia.

E levantando-se um deles, por nome Ágabo, declarou pelo Espírito, que estava para haver uma grande fome em todo o mundo; que veio a acontecer no tempo de Cláudio César.
Y levantándose uno de ellos, llamado Agabo, daba á entender por Espíritu, que había de haber una grande hambre en toda la tierra habitada: la cual hubo en tiempo de Claudio.
And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Cæsar.

E os discípulos determinaram de cada um, conforme o que pudesse, mandar algum socorro para serviço dos irmãos que habitavam na Judeia.
