Estaba yo en la ciudad de Jope en oración, y vi en éxtasis una visión de cierta cosa que iba descendiendo, a manera de un gran lienzo descolgado del cielo por las cuatro puntas, que llegó junto a mí.
Estaba yo en la ciudad de Joppe orando, y vi en rapto de entendimiento una visión: un vaso, como un gran lienzo, que descendía, que por los cuatro cabos era abajado del cielo, y venía hasta mí.
I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:
“I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision: a certain container descending, like it was a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners. It came as far as me.
Mirando con atención, me puse a contemplarle, y le vi lleno de animales cuadrúpedos terrestres, de fieras, de reptiles y volátiles del cielo.
En el cual como puse los ojos, consideré y vi animales terrestres de cuatro pies, y fieras, y reptiles, y aves del cielo.
Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
When I had looked intently at it, I considered, and saw the four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky.

But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.

Mas la voz del cielo, hablándome segunda vez, me replicó: Lo que Dios ha purificado, no lo llames tú impuro.

But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;
He told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house and saying to him, ‘Send to Joppa and get Simon, who is called Peter,
quien te dirá las cosas necesarias para tu salvación y la de toda tu familia.
El cual te hablará palabras por las cuales serás salvo tú, y toda tu casa.
Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
who will speak to you words by which you will be saved, you and all your house.’
Habiendo yo, pues, empezado a hablar, descendió el Espíritu Santo sobre ellos, como descendió al principio sobre nosotros.

Oídas estas cosas, se aquietaron, y glorificaron a Dios, diciendo: luego también a los gentiles les ha concedido Dios la penitencia para alcanzar la vida.
Entonces, oídas estas cosas, callaron, y glorificaron á Dios, diciendo: De manera que también á los Gentiles ha dado Dios arrepentimiento para vida.

Llegado allá, y al ver los prodigios de la gracia de Dios, se llenó de júbilo; y exhortaba a todos a permanecer en el servicio del Señor con un corazón firme y constante.
El cual, como llegó, y vió la gracia de Dios, regocijóse; y exhortó á todos á que permaneciesen en el propósito del corazón en el Señor.

en cuya Iglesia estuvieron empleados todo un año; e instruyeron a tanta multitud de gentes, que aquí en Antioquía fue donde los discípulos empezaron a llamarse cristianos.
Y conversaron todo un año allí con la iglesia, y enseñaron á mucha gente; y los discípulos fueron llamados Cristianos primeramente en Antioquía.
And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Por estos días vinieron de Jerusalén ciertos profetas a Antioquía;

uno de los cuales por nombre Agabo, inspirado de Dios, anunciaba que había de haber una gran hambre por toda la tierra, como en efecto la hubo en tiempo del emperador Claudio;
Y levantándose uno de ellos, llamado Agabo, daba á entender por Espíritu, que había de haber una grande hambre en toda la tierra habitada: la cual hubo en tiempo de Claudio.
And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Cæsar.

por cuya causa los discípulos determinaron contribuir cada uno, según sus facultades, con alguna limosna, para socorrer a los hermanos habitantes en Judea.
Entonces los discípulos, cada uno conforme á lo que tenía, determinaron enviar subsidio á los hermanos que habitaban en Judea:
Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judæa:
As any of the disciples had plenty, each determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea;
Lo que hicieron efectivamente, remitiendo las limosnas a los ancianos o sacerdotes de Jerusalén por mano de Bernabé y de Saulo.
Lo cual asimismo hicieron, enviándolo á los ancianos por mano de Bernabé y de Saulo.
