Al ver que esto agradaba a los líderes judíos, mandó arrestar también a Pedro. Esto ocurrió durante la fiesta de los panes sin levadura.

De repente apareció un ángel del Señor, y una luz iluminó la celda. El ángel tocó a Pedro en el costado para despertarlo y le dijo: “¡Levántate rápido!”. Y las cadenas se le cayeron de las manos.
Y he aquí, el ángel del Señor sobrevino, y una luz resplandeció en la cárcel; é hiriendo á Pedro en el lado, le despertó, diciendo: Levántate prestamente. Y las cadenas se le cayeron de las manos.
And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
And behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up, saying, “Stand up quickly!” His chains fell off his hands.
Luego el ángel le dijo: “Vístete y ponte las sandalias”. Pedro lo hizo. Entonces el ángel le ordenó: “Ponte tu abrigo y sígueme”.
Y le dijo el ángel: Cíñete, y átate tus sandalias. Y lo hizo así. Y le dijo: Rodéate tu ropa, y sígueme.
And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
The angel said to him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” He did so. He said to him, “Put on your cloak and follow me.”
Pedro salió y lo siguió, pero no sabía si lo que estaba haciendo el ángel era real; más bien, pensaba que estaba teniendo una visión.
Y saliendo, le seguía; y no sabía que era verdad lo que hacía el ángel, mas pensaba que veía visión.
And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

Pasaron el primer puesto de guardia, luego el segundo, y llegaron a la puerta de hierro que daba a la ciudad, la cual se abrió por sí sola ante ellos. Salieron, caminaron a lo largo de una calle, y de pronto el ángel lo dejó.
Y como pasaron la primera y la segunda guardia, vinieron á la puerta de hierro que va á la ciudad, la cual se les abrió de suyo: y salidos, pasaron una calle; y luego el ángel se apartó de él.
When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

Entonces Pedro, volviendo en sí, dijo: Ahora entiendo verdaderamente que el Señor ha enviado su ángel, y me ha librado de la mano de Herodes, y de todo el pueblo de los Judíos que me esperaba.
And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.
When Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I truly know that the Lord has sent out his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from everything the Jewish people were expecting.”
Al darse cuenta de esto, se fue a la casa de María, la madre de Juan, apodado Marcos, donde muchas personas estaban reunidas orando.

Pedro llamó a la puerta de entrada, y una sirvienta llamada Rode salió a ver quién era.
Y tocando Pedro á la puerta del patio, salió una muchacha, para escuchar, llamada Rhode:
And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.

Al reconocer la voz de Pedro, se alegró tanto que, en lugar de abrir la puerta, corrió adentro a avisar que Pedro estaba afuera.
La cual como conoció la voz de Pedro, de gozo no abrió el postigo, sino corriendo adentro, dió nueva de que Pedro estaba al postigo.
And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.
When she recognized Peter’s voice, she didn’t open the gate for joy, but ran in and reported that Peter was standing in front of the gate.
“¡Estás loca!”, le dijeron. Pero como ella insistía en que era cierto, ellos dijeron: “Debe ser su ángel”.
Y ellos le dijeron: Estás loca. Mas ella afirmaba que así era. Entonces ellos decían: Su ángel es.
And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.

Mientras tanto, Pedro seguía tocando la puerta. Cuando abrieron y lo vieron, se quedaron asombrados.
Mas Pedro perseveraba en llamar: y cuando abrieron, viéronle, y se espantaron.
But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.

Él les hizo una señal con la mano para que guardaran silencio, y les contó cómo el Señor lo había sacado de la cárcel. “Cuéntenles esto a Santiago y a los demás hermanos”, les dijo. Luego se despidió y se fue a otro lugar.
Mas él haciéndoles con la mano señal de que callasen, les contó cómo el Señor le había sacado de la cárcel. Y dijo: Haced saber esto á Jacobo y á los hermanos. Y salió, y partió á otro lugar.
But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place.
But he, beckoning to them with his hand to be silent, declared to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. He said, “Tell these things to James and to the brothers.” Then he departed and went to another place.
Al amanecer, se armó un gran alboroto entre los soldados, que se preguntaban qué había pasado con Pedro.

Herodes ordenó buscarlo, pero como no lo encontraron, interrogó a los guardias y los mandó ejecutar. Después de esto, Herodes bajó de Judea a Cesarea y se quedó allí por un tiempo.

And when Herod had sought for him, and found him not, he examined the keepers, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judæa to Cæsarea, and there abode.

Herodes estaba furioso con los habitantes de Tiro y de Sidón. Sin embargo, ellos se pusieron de acuerdo y lograron ganarse a Blasto, el asistente personal del rey, para pedirle la paz, ya que su región dependía económicamente del país del rey.

And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king’s chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king’s country.
Now Herod was very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon. They came with one accord to him and, having made Blastus, the king’s personal aide, their friend, they asked for peace, because their country depended on the king’s country for food.
El día acordado, Herodes se puso su traje real, se sentó en el trono y les dirigió un discurso.
Y un día señalado, Herodes vestido de ropa real, se sentó en el tribunal, y arengóles.
And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.
On an appointed day, Herod dressed himself in royal clothing, sat on the throne, and gave a speech to them.
El pueblo comenzó a gritar: “¡Esta es la voz de un dios, no de un ser humano!”.
Y el pueblo aclamaba: Voz de Dios, y no de hombre.
And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.
The people shouted, “The voice of a god, and not of a man!”
Al instante, un ángel del Señor hirió a Herodes por no haberle dado la gloria a Dios; y murió comido por los gusanos.
Y luego el ángel del Señor le hirió, por cuanto no dió la gloria á Dios; y espiró comido de gusanos.
And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.
