Urn dieselbige Zeit legte der Konig Herodes die Hande an etliche von der Gemeinde, sie zu peinigen.

Y EN el mismo tiempo el rey Herodes echó mano á maltratar algunos de la iglesia.

Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

Er totete aber Jakobus, den Bruder des Johannes, mit dem Schwert.

Y mató á cuchillo á Jacobo, hermano de Juan.

And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

Und da er sah, daß es den Juden gefiel, fuhr er fort und fing Petrus auch. Es waren aber eben die Tage der süßen Brote.

Y viendo que había agradado á los Judíos, pasó adelante para prender también á Pedro. Eran entonces los días de los ázimos.

And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

Da er ihn nun griff, legte er ihn ins Gefangnis und uberantwortete ihn vier Vierteilen Kriegsknechten, ihn zu bewahren, und gedachte, ihn nach Ostern dem Volkvorzustellen.

Y habiéndole preso, púsole en la cárcel, entregándole á cuatro cuaterniones de soldados que le guardasen; queriendo sacarle al pueblo después de la Pascua.

And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

Und Petrus ward zwar im Gefangnis gehalten; aber die Gemeinde betete ohne Aufhoren fur ihn zu Gott.

Así que, Pedro era guardado en la cárcel; y la iglesia hacía sin cesar oración á Dios por él.

Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

Und da ihn Herodes wollte vorstellen, in derselbigen Nacht schlief Petrus zwischen zwei Kriegsknechten, gebunden mit zwo Ketten, und die Hüter vor der Tur huteten das Gefangnis.

Y cuando Herodes le había de sacar, aquella misma noche estaba Pedro durmiendo entre dos soldados, preso con dos cadenas, y los guardas delante de la puerta, que guardaban la cárcel.

And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

The same night when Herod was about to bring him out, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains. Guards in front of the door kept the prison.

Und siehe, der Engel des Herrn kam daher, und ein Licht schien in dem Gemach; und schlug Petrus an die Seite und weckte ihn auf und sprach: Stehe behende auf! Und die Ketten fielen ihm von seinen Handen.

Y he aquí, el ángel del Señor sobrevino, y una luz resplandeció en la cárcel; é hiriendo á Pedro en el lado, le despertó, diciendo: Levántate prestamente. Y las cadenas se le cayeron de las manos.

And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

And behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up, saying, “Stand up quickly!” His chains fell off his hands.

Und der Engel sprach zu ihm: Gurte dich und tu deine Schuhe an! Und er tat also. Und er sprach zu ihm: Wirf deinen Mantel urn dich und folge mir nach!

Y le dijo el ángel: Cíñete, y átate tus sandalias. Y lo hizo así. Y le dijo: Rodéate tu ropa, y sígueme.

And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

The angel said to him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” He did so. He said to him, “Put on your cloak and follow me.”

Und er ging hinaus und folgte ihm und wußte nicht, daß ihm wahrhaftig solches geschahe durch den Engel, sondern es deuchte ihn, ersahe ein Gesicht.

Y saliendo, le seguía; y no sabía que era verdad lo que hacía el ángel, mas pensaba que veía visión.

And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

Sie gingen aberdurch die erste und andere Hut und kamen zu der eisernen Tur, welche zur Stadt tub ret; die tat sich ihnen von selber auf. Und traten hinaus und gingen hin eine Gasse lang; und also bald schied der Engel von ihm.

Y como pasaron la primera y la segunda guardia, vinieron á la puerta de hierro que va á la ciudad, la cual se les abrió de suyo: y salidos, pasaron una calle; y luego el ángel se apartó de él.

When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

Und da Petrus zu sich selber kam, sprach er: Nun weili ich wahrhaftig, daß der Herr seinen Engel gesandt hat und mich errettet aus der Hand des Herodes und von allem Warten des judischen Volks.

Entonces Pedro, volviendo en sí, dijo: Ahora entiendo verdaderamente que el Señor ha enviado su ángel, y me ha librado de la mano de Herodes, y de todo el pueblo de los Judíos que me esperaba.

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

When Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I truly know that the Lord has sent out his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from everything the Jewish people were expecting.”

Und alser sich besann, kam er vor das Haus Marias, der Mutter des Johannes, der mit dem Zunamen Markus hieli, da viele beieinanderwaren und beteten.

Y habiendo considerado esto, llegó á casa de María la madre de Juan, el que tenía por sobrenombre Marcos, donde muchos estaban juntos orando.

And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

Als aber Petrus an die Tur klopfete des Tores, trat hervor eine Magd, zu horchen, mit Namen Rhode.

Y tocando Pedro á la puerta del patio, salió una muchacha, para escuchar, llamada Rhode:

And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.

When Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a servant girl named Rhoda came to answer.

Und als sie des Petrus Stimme erkannte, tat sie das Tor nicht auf vor Freuden, lief aber hinein und verkundigte es ihnen, Petrus stunde vor dem Tor.

La cual como conoció la voz de Pedro, de gozo no abrió el postigo, sino corriendo adentro, dió nueva de que Pedro estaba al postigo.

And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.

When she recognized Peter’s voice, she didn’t open the gate for joy, but ran in and reported that Peter was standing in front of the gate.

Sie abersprachen zu ihr: Du bist unsinnig. Sie aber bestand darauf, es ware also. Sie sprachen: Es istsein Engel.

Y ellos le dijeron: Estás loca. Mas ella afirmaba que así era. Entonces ellos decían: Su ángel es.

And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.

They said to her, “You are crazy!” But she insisted that it was so. They said, “It is his angel.”

Petrus aber klopfete weiter an. Da sie aber auftaten, sahen sie ihn und entsetzten sich.

Mas Pedro perseveraba en llamar: y cuando abrieron, viéronle, y se espantaron.

But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.

Er aber winkete ihnen mit der Hand, zu schweigen, und erzahlte ihnen, wie ihn der Herr hatte aus dem Gefangnis gefuhret, und sprach: Verkundiget dies Jakobus und den Brudern. Und ging hinaus und zog an einen andern Ort.

Mas él haciéndoles con la mano señal de que callasen, les contó cómo el Señor le había sacado de la cárcel. Y dijo: Haced saber esto á Jacobo y á los hermanos. Y salió, y partió á otro lugar.

But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place.

But he, beckoning to them with his hand to be silent, declared to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. He said, “Tell these things to James and to the brothers.” Then he departed and went to another place.

Da es aber Tag ward, ward nicht eine kleine Bekummernis unter den Kriegsknechten, wie es doch mit Petrus gegangen ware.

Luego que fué de día, hubo no poco alboroto entre los soldados sobre qué se había hecho de Pedro.

Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was become of Peter.

Herodes aber, da er ihn forderte und nicht fand, liefi er die Hüter rechtfertigen und hieli sie wegfuhren und zog von Judaa hinab gen Casarea und hielt allda sein Wesen.

Mas Herodes, como le buscó y no le halló, hecha inquisición de los guardas, los mandó llevar. Después descendiendo de Judea á Cesarea, se quedó allí.

And when Herod had sought for him, and found him not, he examined the keepers, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judæa to Cæsarea, and there abode.

When Herod had sought for him and didn’t find him, he examined the guards, then commanded that they should be put to death. He went down from Judea to Caesarea, and stayed there.

Denn ergedachte, wider die von Tyrus und Sidon zu kriegen. Sie aber kamen einmutiglich zu ihm und uberredeten des Konigs Kammerer, Blastus, und baten urn Frieden, darum daß ihre Lande sich nahren muliten von des Konigs Land.

Y Herodes estaba enojado contra los de Tiro y los de Sidón: mas ellos vinieron concordes á él, y sobornado Blasto, que era el camarero del rey, pedían paz; porque las tierras de ellos eran abastecidas por las del rey.

And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king’s chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king’s country.

Now Herod was very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon. They came with one accord to him and, having made Blastus, the king’s personal aide, their friend, they asked for peace, because their country depended on the king’s country for food.

Aber auf einen bestimmten Tag tat Herodes das konigliche Kleid an, setzte sich auf den Richterstuhl und tat eine Rede zu ihnen.

Y un día señalado, Herodes vestido de ropa real, se sentó en el tribunal, y arengóles.

And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.

On an appointed day, Herod dressed himself in royal clothing, sat on the throne, and gave a speech to them.

Das Volk aber rief zu: Das ist Gottes Stimme und nicht eines Menschen!

Y el pueblo aclamaba: Voz de Dios, y no de hombre.

And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.

The people shouted, “The voice of a god, and not of a man!”

Alsbald schlug ihn der Engel des Herrn, darum daß er die Ehre nicht Gott gab, und ward gefressen von den Wurmern und gab den Geist auf.

Y luego el ángel del Señor le hirió, por cuanto no dió la gloria á Dios; y espiró comido de gusanos.

And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he didn’t give God the glory. Then he was eaten by worms and died.

Das Wort Gottes aber wuchs und mehrete sich.

Barnabas aber und Saulus kamen wieder gen Jerusalem und uberantworteten die Handreichung und nahmen mit sich Johannes mit dem Zunamen Markus.

Y Bernabé y Saulo volvieron de Jerusalem cumplido su servicio, tomando también consigo á Juan, el que tenía por sobrenombre Marcos.

And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.
