Vers ce temps-là, le roi Hérode fit arrêter quelques membres de l'Eglise pour les maltraiter ;

Y EN el mismo tiempo el rey Herodes echó mano á maltratar algunos de la iglesia.

Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

il fit mourir par le glaive Jacques, frère de Jean.

Y mató á cuchillo á Jacobo, hermano de Juan.

And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

Voyant que cela était agréable aux Juifs, il ordonna encore l'arrestation de Pierre : c'était pendant les jours des Azymes.

Y viendo que había agradado á los Judíos, pasó adelante para prender también á Pedro. Eran entonces los días de los ázimos.

And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

Lorsqu'il l'eut en son pouvoir, il le jeta en prison, et le mit sous la garde de quatre escouades de quatre soldats chacune, avec l'intention de le faire comparaître devant le peuple après la Pâque.

Y habiéndole preso, púsole en la cárcel, entregándole á cuatro cuaterniones de soldados que le guardasen; queriendo sacarle al pueblo después de la Pascua.

And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

Pendant que Pierre était ainsi gardé dans la prison, l'Eglise ne cessait d'adresser pour lui des prières à Dieu.

Así que, Pedro era guardado en la cárcel; y la iglesia hacía sin cesar oración á Dios por él.

Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

Or, la nuit même du jour où Hérode devait le faire comparaître, Pierre, lié de deux chaînes, dormait entre deux soldats, et des sentinelles devant la porte gardaient la prison.

Y cuando Herodes le había de sacar, aquella misma noche estaba Pedro durmiendo entre dos soldados, preso con dos cadenas, y los guardas delante de la puerta, que guardaban la cárcel.

And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

Tout à coup survint un ange du Seigneur, et une lumière resplendit dans la prison. L'ange, frappant Pierre au côté, le réveilla en disant : " Lève-toi promptement " ; et les chaînes tombèrent de ses mains.

Y he aquí, el ángel del Señor sobrevino, y una luz resplandeció en la cárcel; é hiriendo á Pedro en el lado, le despertó, diciendo: Levántate prestamente. Y las cadenas se le cayeron de las manos.

And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

And behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up, saying, “Stand up quickly!” His chains fell off his hands.

L'ange lui dit : " Mets ta ceinture et tes sandales. " Il le fit, et l'ange ajouta : " Enveloppe-toi de ton manteau et suis-moi. "

Y le dijo el ángel: Cíñete, y átate tus sandalias. Y lo hizo así. Y le dijo: Rodéate tu ropa, y sígueme.

And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

The angel said to him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” He did so. He said to him, “Put on your cloak and follow me.”

Pierre sortit et le suivit, ne sachant pas que ce qui se faisait par l'ange fût réel ; il croyait avoir une vision.

Y saliendo, le seguía; y no sabía que era verdad lo que hacía el ángel, mas pensaba que veía visión.

And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

Lorsqu'ils eurent passé la première garde, puis la seconde, ils arrivèrent à la porte de fer qui donne sur la ville : elle s'ouvrit d'elle-même devant eux ; ils sortirent et s'engagèrent dans une rue, et aussitôt l'ange le quitta.

Y como pasaron la primera y la segunda guardia, vinieron á la puerta de hierro que va á la ciudad, la cual se les abrió de suyo: y salidos, pasaron una calle; y luego el ángel se apartó de él.

When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

Alors revenu à lui-même, Pierre se dit : " Je vois maintenant que le Seigneur a réellement envoyé son ange et qu'il m'a délivré de la main d'Hérode et de tout ce qu'attendait le peuple Juif. "

Entonces Pedro, volviendo en sí, dijo: Ahora entiendo verdaderamente que el Señor ha enviado su ángel, y me ha librado de la mano de Herodes, y de todo el pueblo de los Judíos que me esperaba.

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

When Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I truly know that the Lord has sent out his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from everything the Jewish people were expecting.”

Après un moment de réflexion, il se dirigea vers la maison de Marie, la mère de Jean, surnommé Marc, où une nombreuse assemblée était en prière.

Y habiendo considerado esto, llegó á casa de María la madre de Juan, el que tenía por sobrenombre Marcos, donde muchos estaban juntos orando.

And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

Il frappa à la porte du vestibule et une servante, nommée Rhodé, s'approcha pour écouter.

Y tocando Pedro á la puerta del patio, salió una muchacha, para escuchar, llamada Rhode:

And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.

When Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a servant girl named Rhoda came to answer.

Dès qu'elle eut reconnu la voix de Pierre, dans sa joie, au lieu d'ouvrir, elle courut à l'intérieur annoncer que Pierre était devant la porte.

La cual como conoció la voz de Pedro, de gozo no abrió el postigo, sino corriendo adentro, dió nueva de que Pedro estaba al postigo.

And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.

When she recognized Peter’s voice, she didn’t open the gate for joy, but ran in and reported that Peter was standing in front of the gate.

Ils lui dirent : " Tu es folle. " Mais elle affirma qu'il en était ainsi ; et ils dirent : " C'est son ange. "

Y ellos le dijeron: Estás loca. Mas ella afirmaba que así era. Entonces ellos decían: Su ángel es.

And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.

They said to her, “You are crazy!” But she insisted that it was so. They said, “It is his angel.”

Cependant Pierre continuait à frapper ; et lorsqu'ils lui eurent ouvert, en le voyant, ils furent saisis de stupeur.

Mas Pedro perseveraba en llamar: y cuando abrieron, viéronle, y se espantaron.

But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.

Mais Pierre, leur ayant fait de la main signe de se taire, leur raconta comment le Seigneur l'avait tiré de la prison, et il ajouta : " Allez porter cette nouvelle à Jacques et aux frères. " Puis il sortit et s'en alla dans un autre lieu.

Mas él haciéndoles con la mano señal de que callasen, les contó cómo el Señor le había sacado de la cárcel. Y dijo: Haced saber esto á Jacobo y á los hermanos. Y salió, y partió á otro lugar.

But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place.

But he, beckoning to them with his hand to be silent, declared to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. He said, “Tell these things to James and to the brothers.” Then he departed and went to another place.

Quand il fit jour, il y eut une grande agitation parmi les soldats, pour savoir ce que Pierre était devenu.

Luego que fué de día, hubo no poco alboroto entre los soldados sobre qué se había hecho de Pedro.

Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was become of Peter.

Hérode le fit chercher, et ne l'ayant pas découvert, il procéda à l'interrogatoire des gardes et les fit conduire au supplice. Ensuite il quitta la Judée pour retourner à Césarée, où il séjourna.

Mas Herodes, como le buscó y no le halló, hecha inquisición de los guardas, los mandó llevar. Después descendiendo de Judea á Cesarea, se quedó allí.

And when Herod had sought for him, and found him not, he examined the keepers, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judæa to Cæsarea, and there abode.

Hérode était en hostilité avec les Tyriens et les Sidoniens ; ceux-ci vinrent ensemble le trouver, et ayant gagné Blastus, son chambellan, ils lui demandèrent la paix, parce que leur pays tirait sa subsistance des terres du roi.

Y Herodes estaba enojado contra los de Tiro y los de Sidón: mas ellos vinieron concordes á él, y sobornado Blasto, que era el camarero del rey, pedían paz; porque las tierras de ellos eran abastecidas por las del rey.

And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king’s chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king’s country.

Now Herod was very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon. They came with one accord to him and, having made Blastus, the king’s personal aide, their friend, they asked for peace, because their country depended on the king’s country for food.

Au jour fixé, Hérode, revêtu d'habits royaux, et assis sur son trône, les haranguait ;

Y un día señalado, Herodes vestido de ropa real, se sentó en el tribunal, y arengóles.

And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.

On an appointed day, Herod dressed himself in royal clothing, sat on the throne, and gave a speech to them.

et le peuple s'écria : " C'est la voix d'un Dieu, et non d'un homme ! "

Y el pueblo aclamaba: Voz de Dios, y no de hombre.

And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.

The people shouted, “The voice of a god, and not of a man!”

Au même instant, un ange du Seigneur le frappa, parce qu'il n'avait pas rendu gloire à Dieu. Et il expira, rongé des vers.

Y luego el ángel del Señor le hirió, por cuanto no dió la gloria á Dios; y espiró comido de gusanos.

And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he didn’t give God the glory. Then he was eaten by worms and died.

Cependant la parole de Dieu se répandait de plus en plus, et enfantait de nouveaux disciples.

Barnabé et Saul, après s'être acquittés de leur ministère, s'en retournèrent de Jérusalem, emmenant avec eux Jean, surnommé Marc.

And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.
