Hechos 12

Por essa época o rei Herodes começou a perseguir e prender alguns que pertenciam à igreja,

Y EN el mismo tiempo el rey Herodes echó mano á maltratar algunos de la iglesia.

Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

e mandou matar à espada Tiago, irmão de João.

Y mató á cuchillo á Jacobo, hermano de Juan.

And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

He killed James, the brother of John, with the sword.

Quando Herodes viu que isso agradava os líderes judaicos, prendeu Pedro durante a comemoração dos pães sem fermento,

Y viendo que había agradado á los Judíos, pasó adelante para prender también á Pedro. Eran entonces los días de los ázimos.

And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

When he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This was during the days of unleavened bread.

e o pôs na prisão, guardado por quatro escoltas de quatro soldados em cada escolta. A intenção de Herodes era apresentá-lo aos judeus para julgamento público depois da Páscoa.

Y habiéndole preso, púsole en la cárcel, entregándole á cuatro cuaterniones de soldados que le guardasen; queriendo sacarle al pueblo después de la Pascua.

And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

When he had arrested him, he put him in prison and delivered him to four squads of four soldiers each to guard him, intending to bring him out to the people after the Passover.

Porém durante todo o tempo em que ele estava na prisão, a igreja orava fervorosamente a Deus.

Así que, Pedro era guardado en la cárcel; y la iglesia hacía sin cesar oración á Dios por él.

Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

Na noite anterior ao dia em que Herodes iria submetê-lo a julgamento, Pedro estava dormindo, preso com duas correntes entre dois soldados, com outros montando guarda na frente do portão da prisão.

Y cuando Herodes le había de sacar, aquella misma noche estaba Pedro durmiendo entre dos soldados, preso con dos cadenas, y los guardas delante de la puerta, que guardaban la cárcel.

And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

The same night when Herod was about to bring him out, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains. Guards in front of the door kept the prison.

De repente brilhou uma luz na cela e um anjo do Senhor se colocou ao lado de Pedro! O anjo tocou no lado de Pedro e o acordou. “Depressa! Levante-se!”, disse ele. E as correntes caíram dos pulsos de Pedro!

Y he aquí, el ángel del Señor sobrevino, y una luz resplandeció en la cárcel; é hiriendo á Pedro en el lado, le despertó, diciendo: Levántate prestamente. Y las cadenas se le cayeron de las manos.

And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

And behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up, saying, “Stand up quickly!” His chains fell off his hands.

Então o anjo lhe disse: “Vista-se e coloque as sandálias”. Ele obedeceu. “Agora vista a capa e siga-me!”, mandou o anjo.

Y le dijo el ángel: Cíñete, y átate tus sandalias. Y lo hizo así. Y le dijo: Rodéate tu ropa, y sígueme.

And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

The angel said to him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” He did so. He said to him, “Put on your cloak and follow me.”

Então Pedro deixou a cela, seguindo o anjo. Mas o tempo todo ele pensava que era um sonho ou uma visão, e não acreditava que aquilo estivesse realmente acontecendo.

Y saliendo, le seguía; y no sabía que era verdad lo que hacía el ángel, mas pensaba que veía visión.

And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

And he went out and followed him. He didn’t know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he saw a vision.

Eles passaram o primeiro e o segundo postos de guarda e chegaram ao portão de ferro da rua, e este abriu-se por si mesmo para eles! Então eles passaram e foram caminhando juntos um quarteirão, e de repente o anjo o deixou.

Y como pasaron la primera y la segunda guardia, vinieron á la puerta de hierro que va á la ciudad, la cual se les abrió de suyo: y salidos, pasaron una calle; y luego el ángel se apartó de él.

When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

When they were past the first and the second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened to them by itself. They went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.

Pedro finalmente percebeu o que tinha acontecido! “É verdade mesmo!”, disse consigo. “O Senhor enviou o anjo dele e me salvou de Herodes e de tudo o que os judeus queriam me fazer!”

Entonces Pedro, volviendo en sí, dijo: Ahora entiendo verdaderamente que el Señor ha enviado su ángel, y me ha librado de la mano de Herodes, y de todo el pueblo de los Judíos que me esperaba.

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

When Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I truly know that the Lord has sent out his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from everything the Jewish people were expecting.”

Depois de pensar um pouco, ele foi para a casa de Maria, mãe de João, também chamado Marcos, onde muitos estavam juntos para orar.

Y habiendo considerado esto, llegó á casa de María la madre de Juan, el que tenía por sobrenombre Marcos, donde muchos estaban juntos orando.

And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

Thinking about that, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John who was called Mark, where many were gathered together and were praying.

Pedro bateu à porta da frente, e uma serva chamada Rode veio atender.

Y tocando Pedro á la puerta del patio, salió una muchacha, para escuchar, llamada Rhode:

And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.

When Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a servant girl named Rhoda came to answer.

Quando ela reconheceu a voz de Pedro, ficou tão contente que, em vez de abrir a porta, voltou correndo para dentro, e exclamou: “Pedro está lá fora!”

La cual como conoció la voz de Pedro, de gozo no abrió el postigo, sino corriendo adentro, dió nueva de que Pedro estaba al postigo.

And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.

When she recognized Peter’s voice, she didn’t open the gate for joy, but ran in and reported that Peter was standing in front of the gate.

Eles não acreditaram nela. “Você está fora do juízo”, disseram. Quando ela insistiu que era Pedro, eles pensaram: “Deve ser o anjo dele”.

Y ellos le dijeron: Estás loca. Mas ella afirmaba que así era. Entonces ellos decían: Su ángel es.

And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.

They said to her, “You are crazy!” But she insisted that it was so. They said, “It is his angel.”

Enquanto isso Pedro continuava batendo! Quando finalmente foram e abriram a porta, a surpresa foi enorme.

Mas Pedro perseveraba en llamar: y cuando abrieron, viéronle, y se espantaron.

But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.

But Peter continued knocking. When they had opened, they saw him and were amazed.

Ele fez sinal para ficarem quietos e contou o que tinha acontecido e como o Senhor o tinha tirado da prisão. “Contem a Tiago e aos outros o que aconteceu”, disse ele. Então saiu dali e foi para outro lugar.

Mas él haciéndoles con la mano señal de que callasen, les contó cómo el Señor le había sacado de la cárcel. Y dijo: Haced saber esto á Jacobo y á los hermanos. Y salió, y partió á otro lugar.

But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place.

But he, beckoning to them with his hand to be silent, declared to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. He said, “Tell these things to James and to the brothers.” Then he departed and went to another place.

Ao amanhecer, houve grande alvoroço entre os soldados na prisão quanto ao que tinha acontecido com Pedro.

Luego que fué de día, hubo no poco alboroto entre los soldados sobre qué se había hecho de Pedro.

Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was become of Peter.

Quando Herodes mandou buscar o preso, soube que ele não estava lá. Depois de fazer perguntas aos guardas, mandou matá-los. Depois disso Herodes partiu da Judeia e foi morar algum tempo em Cesareia.

Mas Herodes, como le buscó y no le halló, hecha inquisición de los guardas, los mandó llevar. Después descendiendo de Judea á Cesarea, se quedó allí.

And when Herod had sought for him, and found him not, he examined the keepers, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judæa to Cæsarea, and there abode.

When Herod had sought for him and didn’t find him, he examined the guards, then commanded that they should be put to death. He went down from Judea to Caesarea, and stayed there.

Enquanto Herodes estava lá, chegou uma delegação de Tiro e Sidom para falar com ele. Herodes estava muito irado com o povo daquelas duas cidades, mas os delegados se fizeram amigos de Blasto, secretário real, e pediram paz, pois as cidades deles dependiam economicamente do comércio com o país de Herodes.

Y Herodes estaba enojado contra los de Tiro y los de Sidón: mas ellos vinieron concordes á él, y sobornado Blasto, que era el camarero del rey, pedían paz; porque las tierras de ellos eran abastecidas por las del rey.

And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king’s chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king’s country.

Now Herod was very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon. They came with one accord to him and, having made Blastus, the king’s personal aide, their friend, they asked for peace, because their country depended on the king’s country for food.

Herodes concedeu uma entrevista a eles, e, quando chegou o dia, pôs as vestes reais, sentou-se no trono e fez um discurso para o povo.

Y un día señalado, Herodes vestido de ropa real, se sentó en el tribunal, y arengóles.

And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.

On an appointed day, Herod dressed himself in royal clothing, sat on the throne, and gave a speech to them.

O povo fez uma grande aclamação a ele, gritando: “É a voz de um deus, e não de um homem!”

Y el pueblo aclamaba: Voz de Dios, y no de hombre.

And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.

The people shouted, “The voice of a god, and not of a man!”

No mesmo instante, um anjo do Senhor feriu Herodes, de modo que ele ficou cheio de bichos e morreu, visto que aceitou a adoração do povo, em lugar de dar glória a Deus.

Y luego el ángel del Señor le hirió, por cuanto no dió la gloria á Dios; y espiró comido de gusanos.

And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he didn’t give God the glory. Then he was eaten by worms and died.

A boa-nova de Deus ia se espalhando rapidamente e havia muitos novos crentes.

Mas la palabra del Señor crecía y era multiplicada.

But the word of God grew and multiplied.

Barnabé e Saulo por esse tempo visitaram Jerusalém e, logo que terminaram sua missão, levaram João Marcos consigo.

Y Bernabé y Saulo volvieron de Jerusalem cumplido su servicio, tomando también consigo á Juan, el que tenía por sobrenombre Marcos.

And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.
