Hechos 13

Había en Antioquía, en la iglesia de allí, profetas y maestros: Bernabé y Simón, que se llamaba Niger, y Lucio de Cirene, y Manaén, pariente del rey Herodes, y Saúl.

HABÍA entonces en la iglesia que estaba en Antioquía, profetas y doctores: Bernabé, y Simón el que se llamaba Niger, y Lucio Cireneo, y Manahén, que había sido criado con Herodes el tetrarca, y Saulo.

Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

Now in the assembly that was at Antioch there were some prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

Ministrando al Señor, y ayunando, el Espíritu Santo dijo: Dejen que Bernabé y Saúl me sean entregados para el trabajo especial para el cual fueron marcados por mí.

Ministrando pues éstos al Señor, y ayunando, dijo el Espíritu Santo: Apartadme á Bernabé y á Saulo para la obra para la cual los he llamado.

As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

Luego, después de orar y ayunar, les impusieron las manos y los despidieron.

Entonces, siendo enviados por el Espíritu Santo, descendieron a Seleucia; y desde allí fueron en barco a Chipre.

Y en Salamina, ellos predicaban la palabra de Dios en las sinagogas de los judíos; y Juan estaba con ellos, ayudándoles.

And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.

Y cuando hubieron recorrido toda la isla hasta Pafos, se encontraron a un mago y falso profeta, un judío que se llamaba Barjesús;

And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus:

Quién estaba con el gobernante, Sergio Paulo, un hombre inteligente. Este hombre envió por Bernabé y Saulo, deseando tener conocimiento de la palabra de Dios.

El cual estaba con el procónsul Sergio Paulo, varón prudente. Este, llamando á Bernabé y á Saulo, deseaba oir la palabra de Dios.

Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.

who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of understanding. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul, and sought to hear the word of God.

Pero Elimas, el mago (porque ese es el sentido de su nombre), se puso contra ellos, con el propósito de apartar al gobernante de la fe.

Mas les resistía Elimas el encantador (que así se interpreta su nombre), procurando apartar de la fe al procónsul.

But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.

Pero Saulo, cuyo otro nombre es Pablo, lleno del Espíritu Santo, mirándole con dureza, dijo:

¡Oh tú, que estás lleno de engaños y maldad, un hijo del diablo, que odia todo lo bueno, ¿por siempre estarás desviando a las personas de los caminos correctos del Señor?

Dijo: Oh, lleno de todo engaño y de toda maldad, hijo del diablo, enemigo de toda justicia, ¿no cesarás de trastornar los caminos rectos del Señor?

And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

and said, “You son of the devil, full of all deceit and all cunning, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

Y ahora, mira, la mano del Señor está contra ti, y estarás ciego y no podrás ver el sol por un tiempo. Y de inmediato, una bruma oscura cayó sobre él; y buscó a alguien que lo llevara de la mano porque estaba ciego.

Ahora pues, he aquí la mano del Señor es contra ti, y serás ciego, que no veas el sol por tiempo. Y luego cayeron en él obscuridad y tinieblas; y andando alrededor, buscaba quién le condujese por la mano.

And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.

Entonces el gobernante, cuando vio lo que se hizo, creyó, maravillándose ante la enseñanza del Señor.

Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

Entonces Pablo y los que estaban con él partieron en barco desde Pafos, y vinieron a Perge, en Panfilia; y allí Juan se apartó de ellos y regresó a Jerusalén.

Y partidos de Papho, Pablo y sus compañeros arribaron á Perge de Pamphylia: entonces Juan, apartándose de ellos, se volvió á Jerusalem.

Pero ellos, pasando por Perga, vinieron a Antioquía en Pisidia; y entraron en la sinagoga en sábado y se sentaron.

But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.

Y después de la lectura de la ley y de los profetas, los príncipes de la sinagoga enviaron a ellos, diciendo: Hermanos, si tienen una palabra de consuelo para la gente, hablen.

Entonces Pablo, levantándose y haciendo una señal con su mano, dijo: Varones de Israel, y ustedes que temen a Dios, escuchen.

Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.

El Dios de este pueblo Israel hizo la selección de nuestros padres, levantando a la gente de su condición baja cuando vivían en la tierra de Egipto, y con un brazo fuerte los sacó de ella.

El Dios del pueblo de Israel escogió á nuestros padres, y ensalzó al pueblo, siendo ellos extranjeros en la tierra de Egipto, y con brazo levantado los sacó de ella.

The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.

Y por cerca de cuarenta años aguantó su conducta en el desierto.

And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot.

Después de estas cosas, les dio jueces, hasta el tiempo del profeta Samuel.

Entonces, a petición de ellos, Dios les dio a Saúl, hijo de Cis, un hombre de la familia de Benjamín, que fue su rey durante cuarenta años.

Y entonces demandaron rey; y les dió Dios á Saúl, hijo de Cis, varón de la tribu de Benjamín, por cuarenta años.

And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.

Más tarde Dios quitó de su puesto a Saúl, puso por rey a David, al cual dio testimonio, diciendo: Tomaré a David, hijo de Isaí, un hombre querido de mi corazón, que hará todo lo que me place.

Y quitado aquél, levantóles por rey á David, al que dió también testimonio, diciendo: He hallado á David, hijo de Jessé, varón conforme á mi corazón, el cual hará todo lo que yo quiero.

And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

De la simiente de este hombre, Dios le dio a Israel un Salvador, Jesús, al dar su palabra;

Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

Por cuya venida Juan preparó el camino al predicar a todo el pueblo de Israel el bautismo de arrepentimiento.

Predicando Juan delante de la faz de su venida el bautismo de arrepentimiento á todo el pueblo de Israel.

When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

Y cuando Juan estaba terminando su trabajo, dijo: ¿Quien piensan que soy? Yo no soy él; pero uno viene detrás de mí, cuyos zapatos no soy digno para desatar sus sandalias.

Mas como Juan cumpliese su carrera, dijo: ¿Quién pensáis que soy? No soy yo él; mas he aquí, viene tras mí uno, cuyo calzado de los pies no soy digno de desatar.

And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.

As John was fulfilling his course, he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. But behold, one comes after me, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’

Hermanos míos, hijos de la familia de Abraham, y todos aquellos que tienen temor de Dios, a nosotros se ha enviado la palabra de esta salvación.

Varones hermanos, hijos del linaje de Abraham, y los que entre vosotros temen á Dios, á vosotros es enviada la palabra de esta salud.

Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.

“Brothers, children of the stock of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, the word of this salvation is sent out to you.

Porque los hombres de Jerusalén y sus gobernantes, que no tenían conocimiento de él, ni de las palabras de los profetas que les llegaban a oídos el día de reposo, les dieron efecto al juzgarlo.

Porque los que habitaban en Jerusalem, y sus príncipes, no conociendo á éste, y las voces de los profetas que se leen todos los sábados, condenándole, las cumplieron.

For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.

Y aunque no se vio en él causa de muerte, le pidieron a Pilato que lo matara.

And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.

And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.

Y les damos las buenas noticias de la promesa, hecha a nuestros padres,

Y nosotros también os anunciamos el evangelio de aquella promesa que fué hecha á los padres,

And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,

We bring you good news of the promise made to the fathers,

Que Dios ha cumplido a ellos, para nuestros hijos, al enviar a Jesús; como dice en el segundo Salmo, Tú eres mi Hijo; este día te he engendrado.

La cual Dios ha cumplido á los hijos de ellos, á nosotros, resucitando á Jesús: como también en el salmo segundo está escrito: Mi hijo eres tú, yo te he engendrado hoy.

God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

that God has fulfilled this to us, their children, in that he raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second psalm, ‘You are my Son. Today I have become your father.’

Dios ya había anunciado que lo resucitaría, para nunca más volver a la corrupción, él ha dicho estas palabras: Te daré las misericordias santas y ciertas de David.

Y que le levantó de los muertos para nunca más volver á corrupción, así lo dijo: Os daré las misericordias fieles de David.

And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

“Concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he has spoken thus: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.’

Porque él dice en otro Salmo, no dejarás que tu Santo vea la corrupción.

Por eso dice también en otro lugar: No permitirás que tu Santo vea corrupción.

Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Therefore he says also in another psalm, ‘You will not allow your Holy One to see decay.’

Y David, habiendo hecho la obra de Dios para su generación, se durmió, y fue puesto con sus padres, y su cuerpo se descompuso.

Porque á la verdad David, habiendo servido en su edad á la voluntad de Dios, durmió, y fué juntado con sus padres, y vió corrupción:

For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

Pero él, que fue levantado por Dios, no vio la corrupción.

Así que, les ruego, hermanos, que por este hombre se les anuncia el perdón de los pecados:

Séaos pues notorio, varones hermanos, que por éste os es anunciada remisión de pecados;

Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

Be it known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you remission of sins;

Y por medio de él todo el que cree queda libre de todas esas cosas, de las cuales la ley de Moisés no pudieron ser justificados.

Y de todo lo que por la ley de Moisés no pudisteis ser justificados, en éste es justificado todo aquel que creyere.

And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Así que ten cuidado de que estas palabras de los profetas no se hagan realidad para ti;

Mirad, pues, que no venga sobre vosotros lo que está dicho en los profetas;

Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;

Miren, ustedes que desprecian, asombrense y desaparezcan; porque haré una cosa en sus días a la cual no las creerían, incluso si alguien les contara.

Mirad, oh menospreciadores, y entonteceos, y desvaneceos; porque yo obro una obra en vuestros días, obra que no creeréis, si alguien os la contare.

Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.

‘Behold, you scoffers! Wonder and perish, for I work a work in your days, a work which you will in no way believe, if one declares it to you.’”

Y cuando salieron, pidieron que se les dijera estas palabras otra vez en el siguiente sábado el día de reposo.

Y saliendo ellos de la sinagoga de los Judíos, los Gentiles les rogaron que el sábado siguiente les hablasen estas palabras.

And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.

Cuando terminó la reunión, varios judíos y los gentiles temerosos de Dios que se habían convertido en judíos fueron tras Pablo y Bernabé, quienes hablándoles, les persuadieron qué importante era seguir en la gracia de Dios.

Y despedida la congregación, muchos de los Judíos y de los religiosos prosélitos siguieron á Pablo y á Bernabé; los cuales hablándoles, les persuadían que permaneciesen en la gracia de Dios.

Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

Y en el sábado siguiente, casi toda la ciudad se unió para escuchar la palabra de Dios.

And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

Pero cuando los judíos vieron tanta gente, se llenaron de envidia y contradecían y blasfemaban en contra de la predicación de Pablo.

Mas los Judíos, visto el gentío, llenáronse de celo, y se oponían á lo que Pablo decía, contradiciendo y blasfemando.

But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

Entonces Pablo y Bernabé, sin temor, dijeron: Era necesario que la palabra de Dios les fuera dada primero, ustedes que son judíos; pero debido a que ustedes lo rechazan, y no se consideran dignos de la vida eterna, ahora se le ofrecerá a los gentiles.

Entonces Pablo y Bernabé, usando de libertad, dijeron: A vosotros á la verdad era menester que se os hablase la palabra de Dios; mas pues que la desecháis, y os juzgáis indignos de la vida eterna, he aquí, nos volvemos á los Gentiles.

Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, and said, “It was necessary that God’s word should be spoken to you first. Since indeed you thrust it from yourselves, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

Porque así nos ha mandado el Señor, diciendo: Te he dado por luz a los gentiles, para que seas para salvación hasta lo último de la tierra.

Porque así nos ha mandado el Señor, diciendo: Te he puesto para luz de los Gentiles, para que seas salud hasta lo postrero de la tierra.

For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, ‘I have set you as a light for the Gentiles, that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’”

Y los gentiles, oyendo esto, se alegraron y glorificaron la palabra de Dios; y los escogidos por Dios para la vida eterna creyeron.

Y los Gentiles oyendo esto, fueron gozosos, y glorificaban la palabra del Señor: y creyeron todos los que estaban ordenados para vida eterna.

And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

Y la palabra de Jehová se predicó por toda esa región.

Pero los judíos, instigaron a las mujeres temerosas y honorables de Dios y de los principales hombres de la ciudad, comenzaron un ataque contra Pablo y Bernabé, expulsandolos de esa región.

Mas los Judíos concitaron mujeres pías y honestas, y á los principales de la ciudad, y levantaron persecución contra Pablo y Bernabé, y los echaron de sus términos.

But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.
