1En la iglesia de Antioquía había profetas y maestros: Bernabé, Simón (apodado el Negro), Lucio de Cirene, Manaén (que se había criado con Herodes el tetrarca) y Saulo.
2Mientras ellos adoraban al Señor y ayunaban, el Espíritu Santo dijo: “Apártenme a Bernabé y a Saulo para el trabajo al que los he llamado”.
3Así que, después de ayunar y orar, les impusieron las manos y los despidieron.
4Enviados por el Espíritu Santo, Bernabé y Saulo bajaron a Seleucia, y de allí navegaron a la isla de Chipre.
5Al llegar a Salamina, comenzaron a predicar la palabra de Dios en las sinagogas judías. También llevaban a Juan para que los ayudara.
6Recorrieron toda la isla hasta llegar a Pafos. Allí se encontraron con un hechicero y falso profeta judío llamado Barjesús,
7que estaba con el gobernador Sergio Paulo, un hombre muy inteligente. El gobernador mandó llamar a Bernabé y a Saulo porque quería escuchar la palabra de Dios.
8Pero el hechicero Elimas (que es lo que significa su nombre) se les oponía y trataba de desviar de la fe al gobernador.
9Entonces Saulo, o sea Pablo, lleno del Espíritu Santo, lo miró fijamente
10y le dijo: “¡Hijo del diablo! ¡Estás lleno de todo tipo de engaño y maldad! Eres enemigo de todo lo bueno. ¿Cuándo vas a dejar de torcer los caminos rectos del Señor?
11Ahora mismo la mano del Señor está sobre ti: te vas a quedar ciego y por un tiempo no podrás ver la luz del sol”. Al instante cayeron sobre él oscuridad y tinieblas, y andaba a tientas buscando a alguien que lo llevara de la mano.
12Cuando el gobernador vio lo que había pasado, creyó, maravillado por la enseñanza acerca del Señor.
13Pablo y sus compañeros zarparon de Pafos y llegaron a Perge, en la región de Panfilia. Pero Juan los dejó y regresó a Jerusalén.
14Ellos continuaron su viaje desde Perge y llegaron a Antioquía de Pisidia. El sábado entraron en la sinagoga y se sentaron.
15Después de la lectura de la ley y de los profetas, los jefes de la sinagoga les mandaron a decir: “Hermanos, si tienen algún mensaje de ánimo para el pueblo, hablen”.
16Entonces Pablo se puso de pie, hizo una señal con la mano para pedir silencio, y dijo: “Israelitas y todos los que temen a Dios, escuchen.
17El Dios de este pueblo eligió a nuestros antepasados y engrandeció a nuestra gente mientras vivían como extranjeros en Egipto, y con gran poder los sacó de allí.
18Durante unos cuarenta años soportó su conducta en el desierto.
19Luego destruyó a siete naciones en la tierra de Canaán y le dio esa tierra en herencia a nuestro pueblo por unos cuatrocientos cincuenta años.
20Después de eso, les dio jueces hasta los días del profeta Samuel.
21Más tarde el pueblo pidió un rey, y Dios les dio a Saúl, hijo de Cis, de la tribu de Benjamín, quien gobernó durante cuarenta años.
22Tras destituirlo, Dios levantó a David como rey, de quien dio este testimonio: ‘He encontrado a David, hijo de Isaí, un hombre que me agrada y que hará todo lo que yo quiero’.
23“De la descendencia de David, y conforme a su promesa, Dios le ha dado a Israel un Salvador, que es Jesús.
24Antes de que Jesús viniera, Juan predicó el bautismo de arrepentimiento a todo el pueblo de Israel.
25Cuando Juan estaba por terminar su misión, dijo: ‘¿Quién se imaginan que soy? Yo no soy el Cristo. Pero miren, después de mí viene uno a quien ni siquiera soy digno de desatarle las sandalias’.
26“Hermanos, descendientes de Abraham, y ustedes los que temen a Dios, a nosotros se nos ha enviado el mensaje de esta salvación.
27Los habitantes de Jerusalén y sus autoridades no reconocieron a Jesús. Al condenarlo, cumplieron las palabras de los profetas que se leen todos los sábados.
28Aunque no encontraron ningún motivo para condenarlo a muerte, le pidieron a Pilato que lo mandara ejecutar.
29Y después de cumplir todo lo que estaba escrito acerca de él, lo bajaron del madero y lo pusieron en un sepulcro.
30Pero Dios lo resucitó de entre los muertos,
31y durante muchos días se les apareció a los que habían subido con él de Galilea a Jerusalén. Ellos son ahora sus testigos ante el pueblo.
32“Nosotros les anunciamos a ustedes las buenas noticias de que la promesa hecha a nuestros antepasados,
33Dios nos la ha cumplido a nosotros, que somos sus hijos, al resucitar a Jesús. Así está escrito en el salmo segundo: ‘Tú eres mi Hijo; hoy te he engendrado’.
34“Sobre el hecho de haberlo resucitado para que nunca más sufra corrupción, Dios dijo: ‘Les daré las santas y fieles promesas hechas a David’.
35Por eso también dice en otro salmo: ‘No permitirás que tu Santo sufra corrupción’.
36En realidad, David cumplió el propósito de Dios en su propia generación, murió, fue enterrado con sus antepasados y su cuerpo sufrió corrupción.
37Pero aquel a quien Dios resucitó no sufrió corrupción.
38“Sepan, pues, hermanos, que por medio de Jesús se les anuncia a ustedes el perdón de los pecados.
39Todo el que cree en él es declarado justo, algo que la ley de Moisés nunca pudo lograr.
40Tengan cuidado, no sea que les pase lo que dijeron los profetas:
41‘¡Miren, burlones! Asómbrense y desaparezcan. Porque en sus días haré una obra que ustedes nunca creerían, aunque alguien se la explicara’”.
42Al salir Pablo y Bernabé de la sinagoga, la gente les rogó que el siguiente sábado les siguieran hablando de estas cosas.
43Una vez que se disolvió la asamblea, muchos judíos y prosélitos devotos siguieron a Pablo y a Bernabé, quienes conversaron con ellos y los animaron a seguir confiando en la gracia de Dios.
44El siguiente sábado, casi toda la ciudad se reunió para escuchar la palabra del Señor.
45Pero cuando los líderes judíos vieron a tanta gente, se llenaron de envidia y comenzaron a contradecir a Pablo con insultos.
46Entonces Pablo y Bernabé les contestaron con mucha valentía: “Era necesario que se les anunciara la palabra de Dios a ustedes primero. Pero ya que la rechazan y no se consideran dignos de la vida eterna, ahora nos dirigiremos a los gentiles.
47Porque así nos lo ordenó el Señor: ‘Te he puesto como luz para las naciones, para que lleves mi salvación hasta los confines de la tierra’”.
48Al escuchar esto, los gentiles se alegraron y alabaron la palabra del Señor; y creyeron todos los que estaban destinados a la vida eterna.
49La palabra del Señor se difundió por toda aquella región.
50Pero los líderes judíos alborotaron a las mujeres devotas de la alta sociedad y a los hombres más importantes de la ciudad. Provocaron una persecución contra Pablo y Bernabé, y los expulsaron de su territorio.
51Entonces ellos se sacudieron el polvo de los pies en señal de protesta contra esa gente, y se fueron a Iconio.
52Mientras tanto, los discípulos seguían llenos de alegría y del Espíritu Santo.

1HABÍA entonces en la iglesia que estaba en Antioquía, profetas y doctores: Bernabé, y Simón el que se llamaba Niger, y Lucio Cireneo, y Manahén, que había sido criado con Herodes el tetrarca, y Saulo.
2Ministrando pues éstos al Señor, y ayunando, dijo el Espíritu Santo: Apartadme á Bernabé y á Saulo para la obra para la cual los he llamado.
3Entonces habiendo ayunado y orado, y puesto las manos encima de ellos, despidiéronlos.
4Y ellos, enviados así por el Espíritu Santo, descendieron á Seleucia; y de allí navegaron á Cipro.
5Y llegados á Salamina, anunciaban la palabra de Dios en las sinagogas de los Judíos: y tenían también á Juan en el ministerio.
6Y habiendo atravesado toda la isla hasta Papho, hallaron un hombre mago, falso profeta, Judío, llamado Barjesús;
7El cual estaba con el procónsul Sergio Paulo, varón prudente. Este, llamando á Bernabé y á Saulo, deseaba oir la palabra de Dios.
8Mas les resistía Elimas el encantador (que así se interpreta su nombre), procurando apartar de la fe al procónsul.
9Entonces Saulo, que también es Pablo, lleno del Espíritu Santo, poniendo en él los ojos,
10Dijo: Oh, lleno de todo engaño y de toda maldad, hijo del diablo, enemigo de toda justicia, ¿no cesarás de trastornar los caminos rectos del Señor?
11Ahora pues, he aquí la mano del Señor es contra ti, y serás ciego, que no veas el sol por tiempo. Y luego cayeron en él obscuridad y tinieblas; y andando alrededor, buscaba quién le condujese por la mano.
12Entonces el procónsul, viendo lo que había sido hecho, creyó, maravillado de la doctrina del Señor.
13Y partidos de Papho, Pablo y sus compañeros arribaron á Perge de Pamphylia: entonces Juan, apartándose de ellos, se volvió á Jerusalem.
14Y ellos pasando de Perge, llegaron á Antioquía de Pisidia, y entrando en la sinagoga un día de sábado, sentáronse.
15Y después de la lectura de la ley y de los profetas, los príncipes de la sinagoga enviaron á ellos, diciendo: Varones hermanos, si tenéis alguna palabra de exhortación para el pueblo, hablad.
16Entonces Pablo, levantándose, hecha señal de silencio con la mano, dice: Varones Israelitas, y los que teméis á Dios, oid:
17El Dios del pueblo de Israel escogió á nuestros padres, y ensalzó al pueblo, siendo ellos extranjeros en la tierra de Egipto, y con brazo levantado los sacó de ella.
18Y por tiempo como de cuarenta años soportó sus costumbres en el desierto;
19Y destruyendo siete naciones en la tierra de Canaán, les repartió por suerte la tierra de ellas.
20Y después, como por cuatrocientos y cincuenta años, dióles jueces hasta el profeta Samuel.
21Y entonces demandaron rey; y les dió Dios á Saúl, hijo de Cis, varón de la tribu de Benjamín, por cuarenta años.
22Y quitado aquél, levantóles por rey á David, al que dió también testimonio, diciendo: He hallado á David, hijo de Jessé, varón conforme á mi corazón, el cual hará todo lo que yo quiero.
23De la simiente de éste, Dios, conforme á la promesa, levantó á Jesús por Salvador á Israel;
24Predicando Juan delante de la faz de su venida el bautismo de arrepentimiento á todo el pueblo de Israel.
25Mas como Juan cumpliese su carrera, dijo: ¿Quién pensáis que soy? No soy yo él; mas he aquí, viene tras mí uno, cuyo calzado de los pies no soy digno de desatar.
26Varones hermanos, hijos del linaje de Abraham, y los que entre vosotros temen á Dios, á vosotros es enviada la palabra de esta salud.
27Porque los que habitaban en Jerusalem, y sus príncipes, no conociendo á éste, y las voces de los profetas que se leen todos los sábados, condenándole, las cumplieron.
28Y sin hallar en él causa de muerte, pidieron á Pilato que le matasen.
29Y habiendo cumplido todas las cosas que de él estaban escritas, quitándolo del madero, lo pusieron en el sepulcro.
30Mas Dios le levantó de los muertos.
31Y él fué visto por muchos días de los que habían subido juntamente con él de Galilea á Jerusalem, los cuales son sus testigos al pueblo.
32Y nosotros también os anunciamos el evangelio de aquella promesa que fué hecha á los padres,
33La cual Dios ha cumplido á los hijos de ellos, á nosotros, resucitando á Jesús: como también en el salmo segundo está escrito: Mi hijo eres tú, yo te he engendrado hoy.
34Y que le levantó de los muertos para nunca más volver á corrupción, así lo dijo: Os daré las misericordias fieles de David.
35Por eso dice también en otro lugar: No permitirás que tu Santo vea corrupción.
36Porque á la verdad David, habiendo servido en su edad á la voluntad de Dios, durmió, y fué juntado con sus padres, y vió corrupción:
37Mas aquel que Dios levantó, no vió corrupción.
38Séaos pues notorio, varones hermanos, que por éste os es anunciada remisión de pecados;
39Y de todo lo que por la ley de Moisés no pudisteis ser justificados, en éste es justificado todo aquel que creyere.
40Mirad, pues, que no venga sobre vosotros lo que está dicho en los profetas;
41Mirad, oh menospreciadores, y entonteceos, y desvaneceos; porque yo obro una obra en vuestros días, obra que no creeréis, si alguien os la contare.
42Y saliendo ellos de la sinagoga de los Judíos, los Gentiles les rogaron que el sábado siguiente les hablasen estas palabras.
43Y despedida la congregación, muchos de los Judíos y de los religiosos prosélitos siguieron á Pablo y á Bernabé; los cuales hablándoles, les persuadían que permaneciesen en la gracia de Dios.
44Y el sábado siguiente se juntó casi toda la ciudad á oir la palabra de Dios.
45Mas los Judíos, visto el gentío, llenáronse de celo, y se oponían á lo que Pablo decía, contradiciendo y blasfemando.
46Entonces Pablo y Bernabé, usando de libertad, dijeron: A vosotros á la verdad era menester que se os hablase la palabra de Dios; mas pues que la desecháis, y os juzgáis indignos de la vida eterna, he aquí, nos volvemos á los Gentiles.
47Porque así nos ha mandado el Señor, diciendo: Te he puesto para luz de los Gentiles, para que seas salud hasta lo postrero de la tierra.
48Y los Gentiles oyendo esto, fueron gozosos, y glorificaban la palabra del Señor: y creyeron todos los que estaban ordenados para vida eterna.
49Y la palabra del Señor era sembrada por toda aquella provincia.
50Mas los Judíos concitaron mujeres pías y honestas, y á los principales de la ciudad, y levantaron persecución contra Pablo y Bernabé, y los echaron de sus términos.
51Ellos entonces sacudiendo en ellos el polvo de sus pies, vinieron á Iconio.
52Y los discípulos estaban llenos de gozo, y del Espíritu Santo.

1Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
3And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
4So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
5And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.
6And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus:
7Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
8But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
9Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,
10And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
11And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.
12Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.
13Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.
14But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.
15And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
16Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.
17The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.
18And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness.
19And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot.
20And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet.
21And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.
22And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
23Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
24When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
25And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.
26Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
27For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.
28And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
29And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
30But God raised him from the dead:
31And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.
32And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
33God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
34And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
35Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
36For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
37But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
38Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
39And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
40Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;
41Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.
42And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
43Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
44And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
45But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
46Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
47For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
48And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
49And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.
50But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.
51But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.
52And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.

1Now in the assembly that was at Antioch there were some prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2As they served the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Separate Barnabas and Saul for me, for the work to which I have called them.”
3Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
4So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia. From there they sailed to Cyprus.
5When they were at Salamis, they proclaimed God’s word in the Jewish synagogues. They also had John as their attendant.
6When they had gone through the island to Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew whose name was Bar Jesus,
7who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of understanding. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul, and sought to hear the word of God.
8But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith.
9But Saul, who is also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, fastened his eyes on him
10and said, “You son of the devil, full of all deceit and all cunning, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
11Now, behold, the hand of the Lord is on you, and you will be blind, not seeing the sun for a season!” Immediately a mist and darkness fell on him. He went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.
12Then the proconsul, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord.
13Now Paul and his company set sail from Paphos and came to Perga in Pamphylia. John departed from them and returned to Jerusalem.
14But they, passing on from Perga, came to Antioch of Pisidia. They went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and sat down.
15After the reading of the law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, “Brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, speak.”
16Paul stood up, and gesturing with his hand said, “Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen.
17The God of this people chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they stayed as aliens in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm, he led them out of it.
18For a period of about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness.
19When he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land for an inheritance for about four hundred fifty years.
20After these things, he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet.
21Afterward they asked for a king, and God gave to them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.
22When he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, to whom he also testified, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’
23From this man’s offspring, God has brought salvation to Israel according to his promise,
24before his coming, when John had first preached the baptism of repentance to Israel.
25As John was fulfilling his course, he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. But behold, one comes after me, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’
26“Brothers, children of the stock of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, the word of this salvation is sent out to you.
27For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they didn’t know him, nor the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him.
28Though they found no cause for death, they still asked Pilate to have him killed.
29When they had fulfilled all things that were written about him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb.
30But God raised him from the dead,
31and he was seen for many days by those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.
32We bring you good news of the promise made to the fathers,
33that God has fulfilled this to us, their children, in that he raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second psalm, ‘You are my Son. Today I have become your father.’
34“Concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he has spoken thus: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.’
35Therefore he says also in another psalm, ‘You will not allow your Holy One to see decay.’
36For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, was laid with his fathers, and saw decay.
37But he whom God raised up saw no decay.
38Be it known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you remission of sins;
39and by him everyone who believes is justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.
40Beware therefore, lest that come on you which is spoken in the prophets:
41‘Behold, you scoffers! Wonder and perish, for I work a work in your days, a work which you will in no way believe, if one declares it to you.’”
42So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.
43Now when the synagogue broke up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.
44The next Sabbath, almost the whole city was gathered together to hear the word of God.
45But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed.
46Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, and said, “It was necessary that God’s word should be spoken to you first. Since indeed you thrust it from yourselves, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.
47For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, ‘I have set you as a light for the Gentiles, that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’”
48As the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of God. As many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
49The Lord’s word was spread abroad throughout all the region.
50But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and threw them out of their borders.
51But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came to Iconium.
52The disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
