Hechos 13

Había en la iglesia de Antioquía varios profetas y doctores, de cuyo número eran Bernabé, y Simón, llamado el Negro, y Lucio de Cirene, y Manahén, hermano de leche del tetrarca Herodes , y Saulo.

HABÍA entonces en la iglesia que estaba en Antioquía, profetas y doctores: Bernabé, y Simón el que se llamaba Niger, y Lucio Cireneo, y Manahén, que había sido criado con Herodes el tetrarca, y Saulo.

Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

Now in the assembly that was at Antioch there were some prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

Mientras estaban un día ejerciendo las funciones de su ministerio delante del Señor, y ayunando, les dijo el Espíritu Santo: Separadme a Saulo y a Bernabé para la obra a que los tengo destinados.

Ministrando pues éstos al Señor, y ayunando, dijo el Espíritu Santo: Apartadme á Bernabé y á Saulo para la obra para la cual los he llamado.

As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

As they served the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Separate Barnabas and Saul for me, for the work to which I have called them.”

Y después de haberse dispuesto con ayunos y oraciones, les impusieron las manos y los despidieron.

Entonces habiendo ayunado y orado, y puesto las manos encima de ellos, despidiéronlos.

And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

Ellos, pues, enviados así por el Espíritu Santo fueron a Seleucia; desde donde navegaron a Chipre.

Y llegados a Salamina, predicaban la palabra de Dios en las sinagogas de los judíos, teniendo consigo a Juan, que les ayudaba, como diácono.

And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.

Recorrida toda la isla hasta Pafo, encontraron a cierto judío, mago y falso profeta, llamado Barjesús,

And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus:

el cual estaba en compañía del procónsul Sergio Paulo, hombre de mucha prudencia. Este procónsul habiendo hecho llamar a sí a Bernabé y a Saulo, deseaba oír la palabra de Dios.

El cual estaba con el procónsul Sergio Paulo, varón prudente. Este, llamando á Bernabé y á Saulo, deseaba oir la palabra de Dios.

Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.

Pero Elimas, o el mago (que eso significa el nombre Elimas) se les oponía, procurando apartar al procónsul de abrazar la fe.

Mas les resistía Elimas el encantador (que así se interpreta su nombre), procurando apartar de la fe al procónsul.

But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.

Mas Saulo, que también se llama Pablo, lleno del Espíritu Santo, clavando en él sus ojos,

Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,

le dijo: ¡Oh hombre lleno de toda suerte de fraudes y embustes, hijo del diablo, enemigo de toda justicia! ¿No cesarás nunca de procurar trastornar o torcer los caminos rectos del Señor?

Dijo: Oh, lleno de todo engaño y de toda maldad, hijo del diablo, enemigo de toda justicia, ¿no cesarás de trastornar los caminos rectos del Señor?

And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

and said, “You son of the devil, full of all deceit and all cunning, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

Pues mira: Desde ahora la mano del Señor descargará sobre ti, y quedarás ciego sin ver la luz del día, hasta cierto tiempo. Y al momento densas tinieblas cayeron sobre sus ojos, y andaba buscando a tientas quien le diese la mano.

Ahora pues, he aquí la mano del Señor es contra ti, y serás ciego, que no veas el sol por tiempo. Y luego cayeron en él obscuridad y tinieblas; y andando alrededor, buscaba quién le condujese por la mano.

And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.

Now, behold, the hand of the Lord is on you, and you will be blind, not seeing the sun for a season!” Immediately a mist and darkness fell on him. He went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.

En la hora el procónsul, visto lo sucedido, abrazó la fe, maravillándose de la doctrina del Señor.

Entonces el procónsul, viendo lo que había sido hecho, creyó, maravillado de la doctrina del Señor.

Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

Pablo y sus compañeros, habiéndose hecho a la vela desde Pafo, apartaron a Perge de Panfilia. Aquí Juan, apartándose de ellos, se volvió a Jerusalén .

Y partidos de Papho, Pablo y sus compañeros arribaron á Perge de Pamphylia: entonces Juan, apartándose de ellos, se volvió á Jerusalem.

Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.

Pablo y los demás, sin detenerse en Perge, llegaron a Antioquía de Pisidia; y entrando el sábado en la sinagoga, tomaron asiento.

Y ellos pasando de Perge, llegaron á Antioquía de Pisidia, y entrando en la sinagoga un día de sábado, sentáronse.

But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.

Después que se acabó la lectura de la ley y de los profetas, los presidentes de la sinagoga los convidaron, enviándoles a decir: Hermanos, si tenéis alguna cosa de edificación que decir al pueblo, hablad.

Y después de la lectura de la ley y de los profetas, los príncipes de la sinagoga enviaron á ellos, diciendo: Varones hermanos, si tenéis alguna palabra de exhortación para el pueblo, hablad.

And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

Entonces Pablo, puesto en pie, y haciendo con la mano una señal pidiendo atención, dijo: ¡Oh israelitas, y vosotros los que teméis al Señor, escuchad!

Entonces Pablo, levantándose, hecha señal de silencio con la mano, dice: Varones Israelitas, y los que teméis á Dios, oid:

El Dios del pueblo de Israel eligió a nuestros padres, y engrandeció a este pueblo, mientras habitaban como extranjeros en Egipto, de donde los sacó con el poder soberano de su brazo;

The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.

y sufrió después sus perversas costumbres por espacio de cuarenta años en el desierto;

And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.

Y removido éste, les dio por rey a David, a quien abonó diciendo: He hallado a David, hijo de Jesé, hombre conforme a mi corazón, que cumplirá todos mis preceptos.

Y quitado aquél, levantóles por rey á David, al que dió también testimonio, diciendo: He hallado á David, hijo de Jessé, varón conforme á mi corazón, el cual hará todo lo que yo quiero.

And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

Del linaje de éste ha hecho nacer Dios, según su promesa, a Jesús para ser el salvador de Israel,

Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

From this man’s offspring, God has brought salvation to Israel according to his promise,

habiendo predicado Juan, antes de manifestarle su venida, el bautismo de penitencia a todo el pueblo de Israel.

Predicando Juan delante de la faz de su venida el bautismo de arrepentimiento á todo el pueblo de Israel.

When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

El mismo Juan al terminar su carrera, decía: Yo no soy el que vosotros imagináis; pero mirad, después de mí viene uno a quien yo no soy digno de desatar el calzado de sus pies.

Mas como Juan cumpliese su carrera, dijo: ¿Quién pensáis que soy? No soy yo él; mas he aquí, viene tras mí uno, cuyo calzado de los pies no soy digno de desatar.

And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.

As John was fulfilling his course, he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. But behold, one comes after me, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’

Ahora, pues, hermanos míos, hijos de Abrahán, a vosotros es, y a cualquiera que entre vosotros teme a Dios, a quienes es enviado este anuncio de la salvación.

Varones hermanos, hijos del linaje de Abraham, y los que entre vosotros temen á Dios, á vosotros es enviada la palabra de esta salud.

Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.

“Brothers, children of the stock of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, the word of this salvation is sent out to you.

Porque los habitantes de Jerusalén y sus jefes, desconociendo a este Señor, y las profecías que se leen todos los sábados, con haberle condenado las cumplieron,

Porque los que habitaban en Jerusalem, y sus príncipes, no conociendo á éste, y las voces de los profetas que se leen todos los sábados, condenándole, las cumplieron.

For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.

cuando no hallando en él ninguna causa de muerte, no obstante pidieron a Pilatos que le quitase la vida.

Y sin hallar en él causa de muerte, pidieron á Pilato que le matasen.

And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.

Y después de haber ejecutado todas las cosas que de él estaban escritas, descolgándole de la cruz, le pusieron en el sepulcro.

And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.

Mas Dios le resucitó de entre los muertos al tercer día; y se apareció durante muchos días a aquellos

And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.

Nosotros, pues, os anunciamos el cumplimiento de la promesa hecha a nuestros padres,

And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,

We bring you good news of the promise made to the fathers,

el efecto de la cual nos ha hecho Dios ver a nosotros sus hijos, resucitando a Jesús , en conformidad de lo que se halla escrito en el salmo segundo: Tú eres Hijo mío, yo te di hoy el ser.

La cual Dios ha cumplido á los hijos de ellos, á nosotros, resucitando á Jesús: como también en el salmo segundo está escrito: Mi hijo eres tú, yo te he engendrado hoy.

God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

that God has fulfilled this to us, their children, in that he raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second psalm, ‘You are my Son. Today I have become your father.’

Y para manifestar que le ha resucitado de entre los muertos para nunca más morir, dijo así: Yo cumpliré fielmente las promesas juradas a David.

Y que le levantó de los muertos para nunca más volver á corrupción, así lo dijo: Os daré las misericordias fieles de David.

And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

“Concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he has spoken thus: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.’

Y por eso mismo dice en otra parte: No permitirás que tu Santo Hijo experimente la corrupción.

Por eso dice también en otro lugar: No permitirás que tu Santo vea corrupción.

Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Therefore he says also in another psalm, ‘You will not allow your Holy One to see decay.’

Pues por lo que hace a David, sabemos que después de haber servido en su tiempo a los designios de Dios, cerró los ojos; y fue sepultado con sus padres, y padeció la corrupción como los demás.

Porque á la verdad David, habiendo servido en su edad á la voluntad de Dios, durmió, y fué juntado con sus padres, y vió corrupción:

For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, was laid with his fathers, and saw decay.

Pero aquel a quien Dios ha resucitado de entre los muertos, no ha experimentado ninguna corrupción.

Mas aquel que Dios levantó, no vió corrupción.

But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

But he whom God raised up saw no decay.

Ahora, pues, hermanos míos, tened entendido que por medio de éste se os ofrece la remisión de los pecados y de todas las manchas de que no habéis podido ser justificados en virtud de la ley mosaica.

Séaos pues notorio, varones hermanos, que por éste os es anunciada remisión de pecados;

Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

Be it known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you remission of sins;

Todo aquel que cree en él es justificado.

Y de todo lo que por la ley de Moisés no pudisteis ser justificados, en éste es justificado todo aquel que creyere.

And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Por tanto mirad no recaiga sobre vosotros lo que se halla dicho en los profetas:

Mirad, pues, que no venga sobre vosotros lo que está dicho en los profetas;

Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;

Beware therefore, lest that come on you which is spoken in the prophets:

Reparad, burladores de mi palabra, llenaos de pavor, y quedad desolados; porque yo voy a ejecutar una obra en vuestros días, obra que no acabaréis de creerla por más que os la cuenten y aseguren.

Mirad, oh menospreciadores, y entonteceos, y desvaneceos; porque yo obro una obra en vuestros días, obra que no creeréis, si alguien os la contare.

Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.

‘Behold, you scoffers! Wonder and perish, for I work a work in your days, a work which you will in no way believe, if one declares it to you.’”

Al tiempo de salir, les suplicaban que el sábado siguiente les hablasen también del mismo asunto.

Y saliendo ellos de la sinagoga de los Judíos, los Gentiles les rogaron que el sábado siguiente les hablasen estas palabras.

And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.

Despedido el auditorio, muchos de los judíos y de los prosélitos, temerosos de Dios, siguieron a Pablo y a Bernabé, los cuales los exhortaban a perseverar en la gracia de Dios.

Y despedida la congregación, muchos de los Judíos y de los religiosos prosélitos siguieron á Pablo y á Bernabé; los cuales hablándoles, les persuadían que permaneciesen en la gracia de Dios.

Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

Now when the synagogue broke up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.

El sábado siguiente casi toda la ciudad concurrió a oír la palabra de Dios.

Y el sábado siguiente se juntó casi toda la ciudad á oir la palabra de Dios.

And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

The next Sabbath, almost the whole city was gathered together to hear the word of God.

Pero los judíos, viendo tanto concurso, se llenaron de envidia, y contradecían con blasfemias a todo lo que Pablo predicaba.

Mas los Judíos, visto el gentío, llenáronse de celo, y se oponían á lo que Pablo decía, contradiciendo y blasfemando.

But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

Entonces Pablo y Bernabé con gran entereza les dijeron: A vosotros debía ser primeramente anunciada la palabra de Dios; mas ya que la rechazáis, y os juzgáis vosotros mismos indignos de la vida eterna, de hoy en adelante nos vamos a predicar a los gentiles:

Entonces Pablo y Bernabé, usando de libertad, dijeron: A vosotros á la verdad era menester que se os hablase la palabra de Dios; mas pues que la desecháis, y os juzgáis indignos de la vida eterna, he aquí, nos volvemos á los Gentiles.

Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, and said, “It was necessary that God’s word should be spoken to you first. Since indeed you thrust it from yourselves, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

que así nos lo tiene ordenado el Señor diciendo: Yo te puse por lumbrera de las naciones, para que seas la salvación de todas hasta el cabo del mundo.

Porque así nos ha mandado el Señor, diciendo: Te he puesto para luz de los Gentiles, para que seas salud hasta lo postrero de la tierra.

For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, ‘I have set you as a light for the Gentiles, that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’”

Oído esto por los gentiles se regocijaban, y glorificaban la palabra de Dios; y creyeron todos los que estaban preordinados para la vida eterna.

Y los Gentiles oyendo esto, fueron gozosos, y glorificaban la palabra del Señor: y creyeron todos los que estaban ordenados para vida eterna.

And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

Así la palabra del Señor se esparcía por todo aquel país.

Y la palabra del Señor era sembrada por toda aquella provincia.

And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.

Los judíos instigaron a varias mujeres devotas y de distinción, y a los hombres principales de la ciudad, y levantaron una persecución contra Pablo y Bernabé, y los echaron de su territorio.

Mas los Judíos concitaron mujeres pías y honestas, y á los principales de la ciudad, y levantaron persecución contra Pablo y Bernabé, y los echaron de sus términos.

But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.

Pero éstos, sacudiendo contra ellos el polvo de sus pies, se fueron a Iconio.

But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.
