Hechos 14

Estando ya en Iconio, entraron juntos en la sinagoga de los judíos, y hablaron en tales términos, que se convirtió una gran multitud de judíos y de griegos.

Y ACONTECIÓ en Iconio, que entrados juntamente en la sinagoga de los Judíos, hablaron de tal manera, que creyó una grande multitud de Judíos, y asimismo de Griegos.

And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.

Pero los judíos que se mantuvieron incrédulos, conmovieron y provocaron a ira los ánimos de los gentiles contra los hermanos.

Mas los Judíos que fueron incrédulos, incitaron y corrompieron los ánimos de los Gentiles contra los hermanos.

But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.

But the disbelieving Jews stirred up and embittered the souls of the Gentiles against the brothers.

Sin embargo se detuvieron allí mucho tiempo, trabajando llenos de confianza en el Señor, que confirmaba la palabra de su gracia con los prodigios y milagros que hacía por sus manos.

Con todo eso se detuvieron allí mucho tiempo, confiados en el Señor, el cual daba testimonio á la palabra de su gracia, dando que señales y milagros fuesen hechos por las manos de ellos.

Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

De suerte que la ciudad estaba dividida en dos bandos: unos estaban por los judíos, y otros por los apóstoles.

Mas el vulgo de la ciudad estaba dividido; y unos eran con los Judíos, y otros con los apóstoles.

But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.

Pero habiéndose amotinado los gentiles y judíos con sus jefes, para ultrajar a los apóstoles y apedrearles,

Y haciendo ímpetu los Judíos y los Gentiles juntamente con sus príncipes, para afrentarlos y apedrearlos,

And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,

When some of both the Gentiles and the Jews, with their rulers, made a violent attempt to mistreat and stone them,

ellos, sabido esto, se marcharon a Listra y Derbe, ciudades también de Licaonia, recorriendo toda la comarca,

Habiéndolo entendido, huyeron á Listra y Derbe, ciudades de Licaonia, y por toda la tierra alrededor.

They were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about:

they became aware of it and fled to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra, Derbe, and the surrounding region.

y predicando la buena nueva.

Y allí predicaban el evangelio.

And there they preached the gospel.

There they preached the Good News.

Había en Listra un hombre cojo desde su nacimiento , que por la debilidad de las piernas estaba sentado, y no había andado en su vida.

Y un hombre de Listra, impotente de los pies, estaba sentado, cojo desde el vientre de su madre, que jamás había andado.

And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked:

At Lystra a certain man sat, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked.

Este oyó predicar a Pablo; el cual fijando en él los ojos, y viendo que tenía fe de que sería curado,

Este oyó hablar á Pablo; el cual, como puso los ojos en él, y vió que tenía fe para ser sano,

The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,

He was listening to Paul speaking, who, fastening eyes on him and seeing that he had faith to be made whole,

le dijo en alta voz: Levántate y mantente derecho sobre tus pies. Y al instante saltó en pie, y echó a andar.

Dijo á gran voz: Levántate derecho sobre tus pies. Y saltó, y anduvo.

Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

Las gentes viendo lo que Pablo acababa de hacer, levantaron el grito, diciendo en su idioma licaónico: Dioses son éstos que han bajado a nosotros en figura de hombres.

Entonces las gentes, visto lo que Pablo había hecho, alzaron la voz, diciendo en lengua licaónica: Dioses semejantes á hombres han descendido á nosotros.

And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.

When the multitude saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice, saying in the language of Lycaonia, “The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!”

Y daban a Bernabé el nombre de Júpiter, y a Pablo el de Mercurio: por cuanto era el que llevaba la palabra.

Y á Bernabé llamaban Júpiter, y á Pablo, Mercurio, porque era el que llevaba la palabra.

And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.

They called Barnabas “Jupiter”, and Paul “Mercury”, because he was the chief speaker.

Además de eso el sacerdote de Júpiter, cuyo templo estaba al entrar en la ciudad, trayendo toros adornados con guirnaldas delante de la puerta, intentaba, seguido del pueblo, ofrecerles sacrificios.

Y el sacerdote de Júpiter, que estaba delante de la ciudad de ellos, trayendo toros y guirnaldas delante de las puertas, quería con el pueblo sacrificar.

Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.

The priest of Jupiter, whose temple was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and would have made a sacrifice along with the multitudes.

Lo cual apenas entendieron los apóstoles Bernabé y Pablo, rasgando sus vestidos, rompieron por medio del gentío, clamando,

Y como lo oyeron los apóstoles Bernabé y Pablo, rotas sus ropas, se lanzaron al gentío, dando voces,

Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,

But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of it, they tore their clothes and sprang into the multitude, crying out,

y diciendo: Hombres, ¿qué es lo que hacéis? También somos nosotros, de la misma manera que vosotros, hombres mortales que venimos a predicaros que, dejadas esas vanas deidades, os convirtáis al Dios vivo, que ha creado el cielo, la tierra, el mar y todo cuanto en ellos se contiene.

Y diciendo: Varones, ¿por qué hacéis esto? Nosotros también somos hombres semejantes á vosotros, que os anunciamos que de estas vanidades os convirtáis al Dios vivo, que hizo el cielo y la tierra, y la mar, y todo lo que está en ellos:

And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:

“Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men of the same nature as you, and bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to the living God, who made the sky, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them;

Que si bien en los tiempos pasados permitió que las naciones echasen cada cual por su camino,

El cual en las edades pasadas ha dejado á todas las gentes andar en sus caminos;

Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.

who in the generations gone by allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways.

no dejó con todo de dar testimonio de quién era, o de su divinidad, haciendo beneficios desde el cielo, enviando lluvias, y los buenos temporales para los frutos, dándonos abundancia de manjares, y llenando de alegría nuestros corazones.

Si bien no se dejó á sí mismo sin testimonio, haciendo bien, dándonos lluvias del cielo y tiempos fructíferos, hinchiendo de mantenimiento y de alegría nuestros corazones.

Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

Yet he didn’t leave himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you rains from the sky and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”

Aun diciendo tales cosas, con dificultad pudieron recabar del pueblo que no les ofreciese sacrificio.

Y diciendo estas cosas, apenas apaciguaron el pueblo, para que no les ofreciesen sacrificio.

And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had not done sacrifice unto them.

Even saying these things, they hardly stopped the multitudes from making a sacrifice to them.

Después sobrevinieron de Antioquía y de Iconio ciertos judíos; y habiendo ganado al populacho, apedrearon a Pablo, y le sacaron arrastrando fuera de la ciudad, dándole por muerto.

Entonces sobrevinieron unos Judíos de Antioquía y de Iconio, que persuadieron á la multitud, y habiendo apedreado á Pablo, le sacaron fuera de la ciudad, pensando que estaba muerto.

And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.

But some Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there, and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead.

Mas amontonándose alrededor de él los discípulos, se levantó curado milagrosamente, y entró en la ciudad, y al día siguiente marchó con Bernabé a Derbe.

Mas rodeándole los discípulos, se levantó y entró en la ciudad; y un día después, partió con Bernabé á Derbe.

Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.

But as the disciples stood around him, he rose up, and entered into the city. On the next day he went out with Barnabas to Derbe.

Y habiendo predicado en esta ciudad la buena nueva e instruido a muchos, volvieron a Listra, y a Iconio, y a Antioquía de Pisidia,

Y como hubieron anunciado el evangelio á aquella ciudad, y enseñado á muchos, volvieron á Listra, y á Iconio, y á Antioquía,

And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,

When they had preached the Good News to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch,

para corroborar los ánimos de los discípulos, y exhortarlos a perseverar en la fe, haciéndoles entender que es preciso pasar por medio de muchas tribulaciones para entrar en el reino de Dios.

Confirmando los ánimos de los discípulos, exhortándoles á que permaneciesen en la fe, y que es menester que por muchas tribulaciones entremos en el reino de Dios.

Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

En seguida, habiendo ordenado sacerdotes en cada una de las iglesias, después de oraciones y ayunos, los encomendaron al Señor, en quien habían creído.

Y habiéndoles constituído ancianos en cada una de las iglesias, y habiendo orado con ayunos, los encomendaron al Señor en el cual habían creído.

And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

When they had appointed elders for them in every assembly, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord on whom they had believed.

Y atravesando la Pisidia, vinieron a la Panfilia,

Y pasando por Pisidia vinieron á Pamphylia.

And after they had passed throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia.

They passed through Pisidia and came to Pamphylia.

y anunciada la palabra divina en Perge, bajaron a Atalia;

Y habiendo predicado la palabra en Perge, descendieron á Atalia;

And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia:

When they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.

y desde aquí se embarcaron para Antioquía de Siria de donde los habían enviado, y encomendado a la gracia de Dios para la obra o ministerio que acababan de cumplir.

Y de allí navegaron á Antioquía, donde habían sido encomendados á la gracia de Dios para la obra que habían acabado.

And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.

From there they sailed to Antioch, from where they had been committed to the grace of God for the work which they had fulfilled.

Luego de llegados, congregaron la Iglesia, y refirieron cuán grandes cosas había hecho Dios con ellos, y cómo había abierto la puerta de la fe a los gentiles.

Y habiendo llegado, y reunido la iglesia, relataron cuán grandes cosas había Dios hecho con ellos, y cómo había abierto á los Gentiles la puerta de la fe.

And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.

When they had arrived and had gathered the assembly together, they reported all the things that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith to the nations.

Y después se detuvieron bastante tiempo aquí con los discípulos.

Y se quedaron allí mucho tiempo con los discípulos.

And there they abode long time with the disciples.

They stayed there with the disciples for a long time.
