ENTONCES algunos que venían de Judea enseñaban á los hermanos: Que si no os circuncidáis conforme al rito de Moisés, no podéis ser salvos.

Paulo e Barnabé debateram e discutiram isto com eles longamente, e por fim os crentes enviaram os dois a Jerusalém, acompanhados de alguns homens do lugar, para falar aos apóstolos e presbíteros de lá a respeito desta questão.

Para que também o restante dos homens busque o Senhor, e todos os gentios sobre os quais tem sido invocado o meu nome, diz o Senhor que faz estas coisas’.

“Portanto, a minha opinião é que nós não devemos insistir que os gentios que se convertem a Deus devam obedecer às nossas leis judaicas.
Por lo cual yo juzgo, que los que de los Gentiles se convierten á Dios, no han de ser inquietados;
Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:

Devemos apenas escrever a eles para que deixem de comer carne sacrificada aos ídolos, deixem toda imoralidade sexual e deixem também de comer carne de animais estrangulados sem sangrar.

Então os apóstolos e os presbíteros e toda a igreja resolveram mandar representantes a Antioquia juntamente com Paulo e Barnabé, para informar sobre essa decisão. Os homens escolhidos foram dois dos líderes da igreja — Judas, também chamado Barsabás, e Silas.
Entonces pareció bien á los apóstoles y á los ancianos, con toda la iglesia, elegir varones de ellos, y enviarlos á Antioquía con Pablo y Bernabé: á Judas que tenía por sobrenombre Barsabas, y á Silas, varones principales entre los hermanos;
Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:
Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole assembly, to choose men out of their company, and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, chief men among the brothers.

And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:
They wrote these things by their hand: “The apostles, the elders, and the brothers, to the brothers who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: greetings.
“Soubemos que alguns crentes daqui têm perturbado vocês e transtornado sua mente, porém eles não tinham tais instruções de nossa parte.
Por cuanto hemos oído que algunos que han salido de nosotros, os han inquietado con palabras, trastornando vuestras almas, mandando circuncidaros y guardar la ley, á los cuales no mandamos;
Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

Portanto, pareceu-nos sábio, de acordo com a nossa decisão geral, mandar a vocês estes dois representantes oficiais, juntamente com os nossos amados irmãos Barnabé e Paulo.

Os quatro mensageiros foram imediatamente para Antioquia, onde convocaram toda a igreja e entregaram a carta.

So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:

Houve uma grande alegria em toda a igreja no dia em que a carta foi lida.
La cual, como leyeron, fueron gozosos de la consolación.

Judas e Silas, que eram também profetas, encorajaram e fortaleceram a fé dos irmãos com muitas palavras.

Paulo e Barnabé permaneceram em Antioquia para ajudar a diversos outros que estavam pregando e ensinando ali a palavra do Senhor.
Y Pablo y Bernabé se estaban en Antioquía, enseñando la palabra del Señor y anunciando el evangelio con otros muchos.
Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

Algum tempo depois, Paulo sugeriu a Barnabé: “Vamos voltar para visitar os irmãos em todas as cidades onde pregamos a palavra do Senhor, para ver como os novos convertidos estão indo”.
Y después de algunos días, Pablo dijo á Bernabé: Volvamos á visitar á los hermanos por todas las ciudades en las cuales hemos anunciado la palabra del Señor, cómo están.
And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.
After some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let’s return now and visit our brothers in every city in which we proclaimed the word of the Lord, to see how they are doing.”
Barnabé concordou, mas queria levar João, chamado Marcos, com eles.
Y Bernabé quería que tomasen consigo á Juan, el que tenía por sobrenombre Marcos;
And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.
Barnabas planned to take John, who was called Mark, with them also.
Porém Paulo não achava prudente levá-lo, porque João os tinha abandonado na Panfília, não permanecendo com eles no trabalho.
Mas á Pablo no le parecía bien llevar consigo al que se había apartado de ellos desde Pamphylia, y no había ido con ellos á la obra.
But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.
But Paul didn’t think that it was a good idea to take with them someone who had withdrawn from them in Pamphylia, and didn’t go with them to do the work.
O desentendimento deles em torno disso foi tão sério que se separaram. Barnabé levou Marcos consigo e navegou para Chipre.
Y hubo tal contención entre ellos, que se apartaron el uno del otro; y Bernabé tomando á Marcos, navegó á Cipro.
And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;
Then the contention grew so sharp that they separated from each other. Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed away to Cyprus,
Mas Paulo escolheu Silas e, com a graça do Senhor encomendada pelos irmãos,
Y Pablo escogiendo á Silas, partió encomendado de los hermanos á la gracia del Señor.
And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.

partiu para a Síria e a Cilícia, a fim de animar as igrejas de lá.
Y anduvo la Siria y la Cilicia, confirmando á las iglesias.
And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
