Or il arriva à Derbe et à Lystre. Et voici, il y avait là un disciple nommé Timothée, fils d'une femme juive fidèle, mais d'un père grec,

DESPUÉS llegó á Derbe, y á Listra: y he aquí, estaba allí un discípulo llamado Timoteo, hijo de una mujer Judía fiel, mas de padre Griego.

Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:

auquel les frères qui étaient à Lystre et à Iconium rendaient un bon témoignage.

The brothers who were at Lystra and Iconium gave a good testimony about him.

Paul voulut l'emmener avec lui, et l'ayant pris, il le circoncit, à cause des Juifs qui étaient en ces lieux-là, car tous savaient que son père était grec.

Este quiso Pablo que fuese con él; y tomándole, le circuncidó por causa de los Judíos que estaban en aquellos lugares; porque todos sabían que su padre era Griego.

Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.

Et comme ils parcouraient les villes, ils leur transmettaient, pour les observer, les ordonnances rendues par les apôtres et les anciens de Jérusalem.

Et étant venus près de la Mysie, ils essayaient d'entrer en Bithynie ; mais l'Esprit de Jésus ne le leur permit pas.

After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

Et une vision apparut à Paul pendant la nuit : un homme macédonien se tenait là, et il le priait et disait : Passe en Macédoine et secours-nous.

Y fué mostrada á Pablo de noche una visión: Un varón Macedonio se puso delante, rogándole, y diciendo: Pasa á Macedonia, y ayúdanos.

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

Dès qu'il eut vu cette vision, nous cherchâmes aussitôt à passer en Macédoine, concluant que le Seigneur nous appelait à leur annoncer l'Evangile.

Y como vió la visión, luego procuramos partir á Macedonia, dando por cierto que Dios nos llamaba para que les anunciásemos el evangelio.

And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;

Et de là nous allâmes à Philippes, qui est la première ville de ce district de la Macédoine, et une colonie. Et nous séjournâmes quelques jours dans cette ville.

Y de allí á Filipos, que es la primera ciudad de la parte de Macedonia, y una colonia; y estuvimos en aquella ciudad algunos días.

And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

and from there to Philippi, which is a city of Macedonia, the foremost of the district, a Roman colony. We were staying some days in this city.

Le jour du sabbat nous allâmes hors de la porte, près d'une rivière, où nous pensions que se trouvait un lieu de prière. Et nous étant assis, nous parlions aux femmes qui s'y étaient assemblées.

Y un día de sábado salimos de la puerta junto al río, donde solía ser la oración; y sentándonos, hablamos á las mujeres que se habían juntado.

And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

Et une certaine femme, nommée Lydie, de la ville de Thyatire, marchande de pourpre, qui craignait Dieu, écoutait ; et le Seigneur lui ouvrit le cœur pour qu'elle fût attentive aux choses que Paul disait.

Entonces una mujer llamada Lidia, que vendía púrpura en la ciudad de Tiatira, temerosa de Dios, estaba oyendo; el corazón de la cual abrió el Señor para que estuviese atenta á lo que Pablo decía.

And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

Or, dès qu'elle eut été baptisée, avec sa famille, elle nous pria, en disant : Si vous m'avez jugée fidèle au Seigneur, entrez dans ma maison et demeurez-y ; et elle nous y obligea.

Y cuando fué bautizada, y su familia, nos rogó, diciendo: Si habéis juzgado que yo sea fiel al Señor, entrad en mi casa, y posad: y constriñónos.

And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

When she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay.” So she persuaded us.

Or, il arriva, comme nous allions au lieu de prière, qu'une servante qui avait un esprit de Python et qui, en devinant, apportait un grand profit à ses maîtres, nous rencontra.

Y aconteció, que yendo nosotros á la oración, una muchacha que tenía espíritu pitónico, nos salió al encuentro, la cual daba grande ganancia á sus amos adivinando.

And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

As we were going to prayer, a certain girl having a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much gain by fortune telling.

Elle nous suivait, Paul et nous, et criait, disant : Ces hommes-là sont des serviteurs du Dieu très haut, ils vous annoncent la voie du salut.

Esta, siguiendo á Pablo y á nosotros, daba voces, diciendo: Estos hombres son siervos del Dios Alto, los cuales os anuncian el camino de salud.

The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

Following Paul and us, she cried out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us a way of salvation!”

Or elle fit cela pendant plusieurs jours. Mais Paul, en étant importuné, se retourna et dit à l'esprit : Je te commande au nom de Jésus-Christ de sortir d'elle. Et il sortit à l'heure même.

Y esto hacía por muchos días; mas desagradando á Pablo, se volvió y dijo al espíritu: Te mando en el nombre de Jesucristo, que salgas de ella. Y salió en la misma hora.

And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

She was doing this for many days. But Paul, becoming greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” It came out that very hour.

Mais ses maîtres, voyant disparaître l'espérance de leur gain., se saisirent de Paul et de Silas, et les traînèrent sur la place publique, devant les magistrats.

Y viendo sus amos que había salido la esperanza de su ganancia, prendieron á Pablo y á Silas, y los trajeron al foro, al magistrado;

And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,

Et les ayant conduits aux préteurs, ils dirent : Ces hommes-là troublent notre ville ; ce sont des Juifs,

Y presentándolos á los magistrados, dijeron: Estos hombres, siendo Judíos, alborotan nuestra ciudad,

And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,

When they had brought them to the magistrates, they said, “These men, being Jews, are agitating our city

et ils annoncent des coutumes qu'il ne nous est pas permis de recevoir ni de suivre, à nous qui sommes Romains.

Y predican ritos, los cuales no nos es lícito recibir ni hacer, pues somos Romanos.

And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.

and advocate customs which it is not lawful for us to accept or to observe, being Romans.”

Et la foule se souleva contre eux, et les préteurs firent arracher leurs vêtements et ordonnèrent qu'ils fussent battus de verges.

Y agolpóse el pueblo contra ellos: y los magistrados rompiéndoles sus ropas, les mandaron azotar con varas.

And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.

The multitude rose up together against them and the magistrates tore their clothes from them, then commanded them to be beaten with rods.

Et après qu'on leur eut infligé beaucoup de coups, ils les jetèrent en prison, ordonnant au geôlier de les garder sûrement.

And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

Et tout d'un coup il se fit un grand tremblement de terre, en sorte que les fondements de la prison furent ébranlés, et aussitôt toutes les portes furent ouvertes, et les liens de tous furent détachés.

Entonces fué hecho de repente un gran terremoto, de tal manera que los cimientos de la cárcel se movían; y luego todas las puertas se abrieron, y las prisiones de todos se soltaron.

Y despertado el carcelero, como vió abiertas las puertas de la cárcel, sacando la espada se quería matar, pensando que los presos se habían huído.

And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

The jailer, being roused out of sleep and seeing the prison doors open, drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped.

Mais Paul lui cria d'une voix forte : Ne te fais point de mal ; car nous sommes tous ici.

Mas Pablo clamó á gran voz, diciendo: No te hagas ningún mal; que todos estamos aquí.

But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

Et ayant demandé de la lumière, il entra précipitamment, et, tout tremblant, se jeta aux pieds de Paul et de Silas ;

Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

et les ayant conduits dehors, il dit : Seigneurs, que faut-il que je fasse pour être sauvé ?

Y sacándolos fuera, les dice: Señores, ¿qué es menester que yo haga para ser salvo?

And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

Et eux dirent : Crois au Seigneur Jésus, et tu seras sauvé, toi et ta famille.

Y ellos dijeron: Cree en el Señor Jesucristo, y serás salvo tú, y tu casa.

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Et ils lui annoncèrent la parole du Seigneur, ainsi qu'à tous ceux qui étaient dans sa maison.

Y le hablaron la palabra del Señor, y á todos los que estaban en su casa.

And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

Et les ayant pris à cette même heure de la nuit, il lava leurs plaies. Et aussitôt il fut baptisé, lui et tous les siens.

And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

He brought them up into his house and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly with all his household, having believed in God.

Or le jour étant venu, les préteurs envoyèrent les licteurs, disant : Relâche ces hommes.

Y como fué de día, los magistrados enviaron los alguaciles, diciendo: Deja ir á aquellos hombres.

And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.

But when it was day, the magistrates sent the sergeants, saying, “Let those men go.”

Et le geôlier rapporta ces paroles à Paul : Les préteurs ont envoyé dire qu'on vous relâchât ; sortez donc maintenant, et vous en allez en paix.

Y el carcelero hizo saber estas palabras á Pablo: Los magistrados han enviado á decir que seáis sueltos: así que ahora salid, é id en paz.

And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.

The jailer reported these words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent to let you go; now therefore come out and go in peace.”

Mais Paul leur dit : Après nous avoir battus de verges publiquement, sans jugement, nous qui sommes Romains, ils nous ont jetés en prison ; et maintenant ils nous mettent dehors en secret ! Non certes, mais qu'ils viennent eux-mêmes et nous conduisent dehors.

Entonces Pablo les dijo: Azotados públicamente sin ser condenados, siendo hombres Romanos, nos echaron en la cárcel; y ¿ahora nos echan encubiertamente? No, de cierto, sino vengan ellos y sáquennos.

But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.

But Paul said to them, “They have beaten us publicly without a trial, men who are Romans, and have cast us into prison! Do they now release us secretly? No, most certainly, but let them come themselves and bring us out!”

Et les licteurs rapportèrent ces paroles aux préteurs. Ceux-ci prirent peur en apprenant qu'ils étaient Romains.

Y los alguaciles volvieron á decir á los magistrados estas palabras: y tuvieron miedo, oído que eran Romanos.

And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.

The sergeants reported these words to the magistrates, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Romans,

Et ils vinrent les apaiser, et les ayant conduits hors de la prison, ils leur demandaient de quitter la ville.

Y viniendo, les rogaron; y sacándolos, les pidieron que se saliesen de la ciudad.

And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.

and they came and begged them. When they had brought them out, they asked them to depart from the city.

Et étant sortis de la prison, ils entrèrent chez Lydie ; et ayant vu les frères, ils les exhortèrent et partirent.

Entonces salidos de la cárcel, entraron en casa de Lidia; y habiendo visto á los hermanos, los consolaron, y se salieron.

And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.
