Or egli giunse in Derba, ed in Listra; ed ecco, quivi era un certo discepolo, chiamato per nome Timoteo, figliuol d'una donna Giudea fedele, ma di padre Greco;

DESPUÉS llegó á Derbe, y á Listra: y he aquí, estaba allí un discípulo llamado Timoteo, hijo de una mujer Judía fiel, mas de padre Griego.

Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:

del quale i fratelli, ch' erano in Listra, ed in Iconio, rendevan buona testimonianza.

De éste daban buen testimonio los hermanos que estaban en Listra y en Iconio.

Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.

The brothers who were at Lystra and Iconium gave a good testimony about him.

Costui volle Paolo che andasse seco; e presolo, lo circoncise, per cagion de' Giudei ch' erano in quei luoghi; perciocchè tutti sapevano che il padre d'esso era Greco.

Este quiso Pablo que fuese con él; y tomándole, le circuncidó por causa de los Judíos que estaban en aquellos lugares; porque todos sabían que su padre era Griego.

Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.

E passando essi per le città, ordinavano loro d'osservar gli statuti determinati dagli apostoli, e dagli anziani, ch' erano in Gerusalemme.

Y como pasaban por las ciudades, les daban que guardasen los decretos que habían sido determinados por los apóstoles y los ancianos que estaban en Jerusalem.

And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.

Le chiese adunque erano confermate nella fede, e di giorno in giorno crescevano in numero.

vennero in Misia, e tentavano d'andare in Bitinia; ma lo Spirito di Gesù nol permise loro.

After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

ED una visione apparve di notte a Paolo. Un uomo Macedone gli si presentò, pregandolo, e dicendo: Passa in Macedonia, e soccorrici.

Y fué mostrada á Pablo de noche una visión: Un varón Macedonio se puso delante, rogándole, y diciendo: Pasa á Macedonia, y ayúdanos.

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

A vision appeared to Paul in the night. There was a man of Macedonia standing, begging him and saying, “Come over into Macedonia and help us.”

E quando egli ebbe veduta quella visione, presto noi procacciammo di passare in Macedonia, tenendo per certo che il Signore ci avea chiamati là, per evangelizzare a que' popoli.

Y como vió la visión, luego procuramos partir á Macedonia, dando por cierto que Dios nos llamaba para que les anunciásemos el evangelio.

And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

E perciò, partendo di Troas, arrivammo per diritto corso in Samotracia, e il giorno seguente a Napoli;

Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;

e di là a Filippi, ch'è la prima città di quella parte di Macedonia, ed è colonia; e dimorammo in quella città alquanti giorni.

Y de allí á Filipos, que es la primera ciudad de la parte de Macedonia, y una colonia; y estuvimos en aquella ciudad algunos días.

And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

and from there to Philippi, which is a city of Macedonia, the foremost of the district, a Roman colony. We were staying some days in this city.

E nel giorno del sabato andammo fuor della città, presso del fiume, dove era il luogo ordinario dell'orazione; e postici a sedere, parlavamo alle donne ch'erano quivi raunate.

Y un día de sábado salimos de la puerta junto al río, donde solía ser la oración; y sentándonos, hablamos á las mujeres que se habían juntado.

And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

Ed una certa donna, chiamata per nome Lidia, mercatante di porpora, della città di Tiatiri, la qual serviva a Dio, stava ad ascoltare. E il Signore aperse il suo cuore, per attendere alle cose dette da Paolo.

Entonces una mujer llamada Lidia, que vendía púrpura en la ciudad de Tiatira, temerosa de Dios, estaba oyendo; el corazón de la cual abrió el Señor para que estuviese atenta á lo que Pablo decía.

And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

A certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, one who worshiped God, heard us. The Lord opened her heart to listen to the things which were spoken by Paul.

E, dopo che fu battezzata ella e la sua famiglia, ci pregò dicendo: Se voi mi avete giudicata esser fedele al Signore, entrate in casa mia, e dimoratevi. E ci fece forza.

Y cuando fué bautizada, y su familia, nos rogó, diciendo: Si habéis juzgado que yo sea fiel al Señor, entrad en mi casa, y posad: y constriñónos.

And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

When she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay.” So she persuaded us.

Or avvenne, come noi andavamo all'orazione, che noi incontrammo una fanticella, che avea uno spirito di Pitone, la quale con indovinare facea gran profitto a' suoi padroni.

Y aconteció, que yendo nosotros á la oración, una muchacha que tenía espíritu pitónico, nos salió al encuentro, la cual daba grande ganancia á sus amos adivinando.

And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

As we were going to prayer, a certain girl having a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much gain by fortune telling.

Costei, messasi a seguitar Paolo e noi, gridava, dicendo: Questi uomini son servitori dell'Iddio altissimo, e vi annunziano la via della salute.

Esta, siguiendo á Pablo y á nosotros, daba voces, diciendo: Estos hombres son siervos del Dios Alto, los cuales os anuncian el camino de salud.

The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

Following Paul and us, she cried out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us a way of salvation!”

E fece questo per molti giorni; ma, essendone Paolo annoiato, si rivoltò, e disse allo spirito: Io ti comando, nel nome di Gesù Cristo, che tu esca fuor di lei. Ed egli uscì in quello stante.

Y esto hacía por muchos días; mas desagradando á Pablo, se volvió y dijo al espíritu: Te mando en el nombre de Jesucristo, que salgas de ella. Y salió en la misma hora.

And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

She was doing this for many days. But Paul, becoming greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” It came out that very hour.

Or i padroni d'essa, veggendo che la speranza del lor guadagno era svanita, presero Paolo, e Sila, e li trassero alla corte a' rettori.

Y viendo sus amos que había salido la esperanza de su ganancia, prendieron á Pablo y á Silas, y los trajeron al foro, al magistrado;

And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,

But when her masters saw that the hope of their gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers.

E presentatili a' pretori, dissero: Questi uomini turbano la nostra città; perciocchè son Giudei;

Y presentándolos á los magistrados, dijeron: Estos hombres, siendo Judíos, alborotan nuestra ciudad,

And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,

ed annunziano dei riti, i quali non è lecito a noi, che siam Romani, di ricevere, nè di osservare.

Y predican ritos, los cuales no nos es lícito recibir ni hacer, pues somos Romanos.

And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.

and advocate customs which it is not lawful for us to accept or to observe, being Romans.”

La moltitudine ancora si levò tutta insieme contro a loro; e i pretori, stracciate loro le vesti, comandarono che fosser frustati.

Y agolpóse el pueblo contra ellos: y los magistrados rompiéndoles sus ropas, les mandaron azotar con varas.

And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.

E dopo aver loro data una gran battitura, li misero in prigione, comandando al carceriere di guardarli sicuramente.

Y después que los hubieron herido de muchos azotes, los echaron en la cárcel, mandando al carcelero que los guardase con diligencia:

And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

Il quale, ricevuto un tal comandamento, li mise nella prigione più addentro, e serrò loro i piedi ne' ceppi.

Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.

E di subito si fece un gran tremoto, talchè i fondamenti della prigione furono scrollati; e in quello stante tutte le porte si apersero, e i legami di tutti si sciolsero.

Entonces fué hecho de repente un gran terremoto, de tal manera que los cimientos de la cárcel se movían; y luego todas las puertas se abrieron, y las prisiones de todos se soltaron.

And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

E il carceriere, destatosi, e vedute le porte della prigione aperte, trasse fuori la spada, ed era per uccidersi, pensando che i prigioni se ne fosser fuggiti.

Y despertado el carcelero, como vió abiertas las puertas de la cárcel, sacando la espada se quería matar, pensando que los presos se habían huído.

And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

The jailer, being roused out of sleep and seeing the prison doors open, drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped.

Ma Paolo gridò ad alta voce, dicendo: Non farti male alcuno; perciocchè noi siam tutti qui.

Mas Pablo clamó á gran voz, diciendo: No te hagas ningún mal; que todos estamos aquí.

But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

Ed egli, chiesto un lume, saltò dentro; e tutto tremante, si gettò a' piedi di Paolo e di Sila.

El entonces pidiendo luz, entró dentro, y temblando, derribóse á los pies de Pablo y de Silas;

Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

E menatili fuori, disse: Signori, che mi conviene egli fare per esser salvato?

Y sacándolos fuera, les dice: Señores, ¿qué es menester que yo haga para ser salvo?

And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

Ed essi dissero: Credi nel Signor Gesù Cristo, e sarai salvato tu, e la casa tua.

Y ellos dijeron: Cree en el Señor Jesucristo, y serás salvo tú, y tu casa.

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Ed essi annunziarono la parola del Signore a lui, ed a tutti coloro ch'erano in casa sua.

Y le hablaron la palabra del Señor, y á todos los que estaban en su casa.

And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

They spoke the word of the Lord to him, and to all who were in his house.

Ed egli, presili in quell'istessa ora della notte, lavò loro le piaghe. Poi in quell'istante fu battezzato egli, e tutti i suoi.

Y tomándolos en aquella misma hora de la noche, les lavó los azotes; y se bautizó luego él, y todos los suyos.

And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

Poi, menatili in casa sua, mise loro la tavola; e giubilava d'avere, con tutta la sua casa, creduto a Dio.

Y llevándolos á su casa, les puso la mesa: y se gozó de que con toda su casa había creído á Dios.

And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

He brought them up into his house and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly with all his household, having believed in God.

Ora, come fu giorno, i pretori mandarono i sergenti a dire al carceriere: Lascia andar quegli uomini.

Y como fué de día, los magistrados enviaron los alguaciles, diciendo: Deja ir á aquellos hombres.

And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.

E il carceriere rapportò a Paolo queste parole, dicendo: I pretori hanno mandato a dire che siate liberati; ora dunque uscite, e andatevene in pace.

Y el carcelero hizo saber estas palabras á Pablo: Los magistrados han enviado á decir que seáis sueltos: así que ahora salid, é id en paz.

And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.

The jailer reported these words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent to let you go; now therefore come out and go in peace.”

Ma Paolo disse loro: Dopo averci pubblicamente battuti, senza essere stati condannati in giudicio, noi che siam Romani, ci hanno messi in prigione; ed ora celatamente ci mandano fuori! La cosa non andrà così; anzi, vengano eglino stessi, e ci menino fuori.

Entonces Pablo les dijo: Azotados públicamente sin ser condenados, siendo hombres Romanos, nos echaron en la cárcel; y ¿ahora nos echan encubiertamente? No, de cierto, sino vengan ellos y sáquennos.

But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.

But Paul said to them, “They have beaten us publicly without a trial, men who are Romans, and have cast us into prison! Do they now release us secretly? No, most certainly, but let them come themselves and bring us out!”

E i sergenti rapportarono queste parole a' pretori; ed essi temettero, avendo inteso ch'erano Romani.

Y los alguaciles volvieron á decir á los magistrados estas palabras: y tuvieron miedo, oído que eran Romanos.

And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.

The sergeants reported these words to the magistrates, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Romans,

E vennero, e li pregarono di perdonar loro; e menatili fuori, li richiesero d'uscir della città.

Y viniendo, les rogaron; y sacándolos, les pidieron que se saliesen de la ciudad.

And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.

Ed essi, usciti di prigione, entrarono in casa di Lidia; e, veduti i fratelli, li consolarono, e poi si dipartirono.

Entonces salidos de la cárcel, entraron en casa de Lidia; y habiendo visto á los hermanos, los consolaron, y se salieron.

And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.
