Et il arriva à Derbe et à Lystre, et voici, il y avait là un disciple, nommé Timothée, fils d’une femme Juive, fidèle ; mais d’un père Grec ;

DESPUÉS llegó á Derbe, y á Listra: y he aquí, estaba allí un discípulo llamado Timoteo, hijo de una mujer Judía fiel, mas de padre Griego.

Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:

C’est pourquoi Paul voulut qu’il allât avec lui ; et l’ayant pris avec soi, il le circoncit, à cause des Juifs qui étaient en ces lieux-là : car ils savaient tous que son père était Grec.

Este quiso Pablo que fuese con él; y tomándole, le circuncidó por causa de los Judíos que estaban en aquellos lugares; porque todos sabían que su padre era Griego.

Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.

Eux donc passant par les villes les instruisaient de garder les ordonnances décrétées par les Apôtres, et par les Anciens de Jérusalem.

Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,

Et étant venus en Mysie, ils essayaient d’aller en Bithynie ; mais l’Esprit de Jésus ne le leur permit point.

Y como vinieron á Misia, tentaron de ir á Bithynia; mas el Espíritu no les dejó.

After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

C’est pourquoi ayant passé la Mysie, ils descendirent à Troas.

Et Paul eut de nuit une vision, d’un homme Macédonien qui se présenta devant lui, et le pria, disant : passe en Macédoine, et nous aide.

Y fué mostrada á Pablo de noche una visión: Un varón Macedonio se puso delante, rogándole, y diciendo: Pasa á Macedonia, y ayúdanos.

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

Quand donc il eut vu cette vision, nous tâchâmes aussitôt d’aller en Macédoine, concluant de là que le Seigneur nous avait appelés pour leur évangéliser.

Y como vió la visión, luego procuramos partir á Macedonia, dando por cierto que Dios nos llamaba para que les anunciásemos el evangelio.

And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

Ainsi étant partis de Troas, nous tirâmes droit à Samothrace, et le lendemain à Néapolis.

Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;

Setting sail therefore from Troas, we made a straight course to Samothrace, and the day following to Neapolis;

Et de là à Philippes, qui est la première ville du quartier de Macédoine, et est une colonie ; et nous séjournâmes quelque temps dans la ville.

Y de allí á Filipos, que es la primera ciudad de la parte de Macedonia, y una colonia; y estuvimos en aquella ciudad algunos días.

And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

and from there to Philippi, which is a city of Macedonia, the foremost of the district, a Roman colony. We were staying some days in this city.

Et le jour du Sabbat nous sortîmes de la ville, et allâmes au lieu où on avait accoutumé de faire la prière, près du fleuve, et nous étant là assis nous parlâmes aux femmes qui y étaient assemblées.

Y un día de sábado salimos de la puerta junto al río, donde solía ser la oración; y sentándonos, hablamos á las mujeres que se habían juntado.

And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

On the Sabbath day we went outside of the city by a riverside, where we supposed there was a place of prayer, and we sat down and spoke to the women who had come together.

Et une femme, nommée Lydie, marchande de pourpre, qui était de la ville de Thyatire, et qui servait Dieu nous ouit, et le Seigneur lui ouvrit le coeur, afin qu’elle se rendît attentive aux choses que Paul disait.

Entonces una mujer llamada Lidia, que vendía púrpura en la ciudad de Tiatira, temerosa de Dios, estaba oyendo; el corazón de la cual abrió el Señor para que estuviese atenta á lo que Pablo decía.

And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

A certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, one who worshiped God, heard us. The Lord opened her heart to listen to the things which were spoken by Paul.

Et après qu’elle eut été baptisée, avec sa famille, elle nous pria, disant : Si vous m’estimez être fidèle au Seigneur, entrez dans ma maison, et y demeurez. Et elle nous y contraignit.

Y cuando fué bautizada, y su familia, nos rogó, diciendo: Si habéis juzgado que yo sea fiel al Señor, entrad en mi casa, y posad: y constriñónos.

And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

When she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay.” So she persuaded us.

Or il arriva que comme nous allions à la prière, nous fûmes rencontrés par une servante qui avait un esprit de Python, et qui apportait un grand profit à ses maîtres en devinant.

Y aconteció, que yendo nosotros á la oración, una muchacha que tenía espíritu pitónico, nos salió al encuentro, la cual daba grande ganancia á sus amos adivinando.

And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

As we were going to prayer, a certain girl having a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much gain by fortune telling.

Et elle se mit à nous suivre, Paul et nous, en criant, et disant : ces hommes sont les serviteurs du Dieu souverain, et ils vous annoncent la voie du salut.

Esta, siguiendo á Pablo y á nosotros, daba voces, diciendo: Estos hombres son siervos del Dios Alto, los cuales os anuncian el camino de salud.

The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

Following Paul and us, she cried out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us a way of salvation!”

Et elle fit cela durant plusieurs jours ; mais Paul en étant importuné, se tourna, et dit à l’esprit : je te commande au Nom de Jésus-Christ de sortir de cette fille ; et il en sortit.

Y esto hacía por muchos días; mas desagradando á Pablo, se volvió y dijo al espíritu: Te mando en el nombre de Jesucristo, que salgas de ella. Y salió en la misma hora.

And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

She was doing this for many days. But Paul, becoming greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” It came out that very hour.

Mais ses maîtres voyant que l’espérance de leur gain était perdue, se saisirent de Paul et de Silas, et les traînèrent dans la place publique devant les Magistrats.

Y viendo sus amos que había salido la esperanza de su ganancia, prendieron á Pablo y á Silas, y los trajeron al foro, al magistrado;

And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,

Et ils les présentèrent aux Gouverneurs, en disant : ces hommes- ci, qui sont Juifs, troublent notre ville :

Y presentándolos á los magistrados, dijeron: Estos hombres, siendo Judíos, alborotan nuestra ciudad,

And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,

When they had brought them to the magistrates, they said, “These men, being Jews, are agitating our city

Car ils annoncent des maximes qu’il ne nous est pas permis de recevoir, ni de garder, vu que nous sommes Romains.

Y predican ritos, los cuales no nos es lícito recibir ni hacer, pues somos Romanos.

And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.

and advocate customs which it is not lawful for us to accept or to observe, being Romans.”

Le peuple aussi se souleva ensemble contre eux, et les Gouverneurs leur ayant fait déchirer leurs robes, commandèrent qu’ils fussent fouettés.

Y agolpóse el pueblo contra ellos: y los magistrados rompiéndoles sus ropas, les mandaron azotar con varas.

And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.

The multitude rose up together against them and the magistrates tore their clothes from them, then commanded them to be beaten with rods.

Et après leur avoir donné plusieurs coups de fouet, ils les mirent en prison, en commandant au geôlier de les garder sûrement.

Y después que los hubieron herido de muchos azotes, los echaron en la cárcel, mandando al carcelero que los guardase con diligencia:

And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

Et le geôlier ayant reçu cet ordre, les mit au fond de la prison, et leur serra les pieds dans des ceps.

El cual, recibido este mandamiento, los metió en la cárcel de más adentro; y les apretó los pies en el cepo.

Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

Or sur le minuit Paul et Silas priaient, en chantant les louanges de Dieu ; en sorte que les prisonniers les entendaient.

Mas á media noche, orando Pablo y Silas, cantaban himnos á Dios: y los que estaban presos los oían.

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.

Et tout d’un coup il se fit un si grand tremblement de terre, que les fondements de la prison croulaient ; et incontinent toutes les portes s’ouvrirent, et les liens de tous furent détachés.

Entonces fué hecho de repente un gran terremoto, de tal manera que los cimientos de la cárcel se movían; y luego todas las puertas se abrieron, y las prisiones de todos se soltaron.

And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

Sur quoi le geôlier s’étant éveillé, et voyant les portes de la prison ouvertes, tira son épée, et se voulait tuer, croyant que les prisonniers s’en fussent fuis.

Y despertado el carcelero, como vió abiertas las puertas de la cárcel, sacando la espada se quería matar, pensando que los presos se habían huído.

And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

The jailer, being roused out of sleep and seeing the prison doors open, drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped.

Mals Paul cria à haute voix, en disant : ne te fais point de mal : car nous sommes tous ici.

Mas Pablo clamó á gran voz, diciendo: No te hagas ningún mal; que todos estamos aquí.

But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

Alors ayant demandé de la lumière, il courut dans le cachot, et tout tremblant, se jeta aux pieds de Paul et de Silas.

El entonces pidiendo luz, entró dentro, y temblando, derribóse á los pies de Pablo y de Silas;

Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

Et les ayant menés dehors, il leur dit : Seigneurs, que faut-il que je fasse pour être sauvé ?

Y sacándolos fuera, les dice: Señores, ¿qué es menester que yo haga para ser salvo?

And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

Ils dirent : crois au Seigneur Jésus-Christ ; et tu seras sauvé, toi et ta maison.

Y ellos dijeron: Cree en el Señor Jesucristo, y serás salvo tú, y tu casa.

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Et ils lui annoncèrent la parole du Seigneur, et à tous ceux qui étaient en sa maison.

Y le hablaron la palabra del Señor, y á todos los que estaban en su casa.

And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

They spoke the word of the Lord to him, and to all who were in his house.

Après cela, les prenant en cette même heure de la nuit, il lava leurs plaies, et aussitôt après il fut baptisé, avec tous ceux de sa maison.

Y tomándolos en aquella misma hora de la noche, les lavó los azotes; y se bautizó luego él, y todos los suyos.

And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

He brought them up into his house and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly with all his household, having believed in God.

Et quand il fut jour, les Gouverneurs envoyèrent des huissiers pour lui dire : élargis ces gens-là.

Y como fué de día, los magistrados enviaron los alguaciles, diciendo: Deja ir á aquellos hombres.

And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.

But when it was day, the magistrates sent the sergeants, saying, “Let those men go.”

Et le geôlier rapporta ces paroles à Paul, disant : les Gouverneurs ont envoyé dire qu’on vous élargît ; sortez donc maintenant, et allez-vous-en en paix.

Y el carcelero hizo saber estas palabras á Pablo: Los magistrados han enviado á decir que seáis sueltos: así que ahora salid, é id en paz.

And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.

The jailer reported these words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent to let you go; now therefore come out and go in peace.”

Mais Paul dit aux huissiers : après nous avoir fouettés publiquement, sans forme de jugement, nous qui sommes Romains, ils nous ont mis en prison ; et maintenant ils nous mettent dehors en secret ? Il n’en sera pas ainsi, mais qu’ils viennent eux-mêmes, et qu’ils nous mettent dehors.

Entonces Pablo les dijo: Azotados públicamente sin ser condenados, siendo hombres Romanos, nos echaron en la cárcel; y ¿ahora nos echan encubiertamente? No, de cierto, sino vengan ellos y sáquennos.

But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.

But Paul said to them, “They have beaten us publicly without a trial, men who are Romans, and have cast us into prison! Do they now release us secretly? No, most certainly, but let them come themselves and bring us out!”

Et les huissiers rapportèrent ces paroles aux Gouverneurs, qui craignirent, ayant entendu qu’ils étaient Romains.

Y los alguaciles volvieron á decir á los magistrados estas palabras: y tuvieron miedo, oído que eran Romanos.

And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.

The sergeants reported these words to the magistrates, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Romans,

C’est pourquoi ils vinrent vers eux, et les prièrent ; puis les ayant élargis, ils les supplièrent de partir de la ville.

Y viniendo, les rogaron; y sacándolos, les pidieron que se saliesen de la ciudad.

And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.

and they came and begged them. When they had brought them out, they asked them to depart from the city.

Alors étant sortis de la prison, ils entrèrent chez Lydie, et ayant vu les frères, ils les consolèrent, et ensuite ils partirent.

Entonces salidos de la cárcel, entraron en casa de Lidia; y habiendo visto á los hermanos, los consolaron, y se salieron.

And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.
