Weiter kam er dann auch nach Derbe und Lystra. Und siehe, hier war ein Jünger namens Timotheus – der Sohn einer gläubig gewordenen Jüdin, aber eines griechischen Vaters –,

DESPUÉS llegó á Derbe, y á Listra: y he aquí, estaba allí un discípulo llamado Timoteo, hijo de una mujer Judía fiel, mas de padre Griego.

dem von den Brüdern in Lystra und Ikonium ein empfehlendes Zeugnis ausgestellt wurde.

Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.

The brothers who were at Lystra and Iconium gave a good testimony about him.

Paulus wünschte diesen als Begleiter auf der Reise zu haben; so nahm er ihn denn zu sich und vollzog die Beschneidung an ihm mit Rücksicht auf die Juden, die in jenen Gegenden (wohnhaft) waren; denn es wußten ja alle, daß sein Vater ein Grieche war.

Este quiso Pablo que fuese con él; y tomándole, le circuncidó por causa de los Judíos que estaban en aquellos lugares; porque todos sabían que su padre era Griego.

Auf ihrer Wanderung durch die Städte machten sie den Gläubigen dort zur Pflicht, die von den Aposteln und Ältesten in Jerusalem beschlossenen Satzungen zu beobachten.

Als sie aber in die Nähe von Mysien gekommen waren, machten sie den Versuch, nach Bithynien zu gelangen, doch der Geist Jesu gestattete es ihnen nicht;

After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

sie zogen vielmehr an der Grenze von Mysien hin und kamen so an die Küste nach Troas hinunter.

Hier erschien dem Paulus nachts ein Traumgesicht: Ein mazedonischer Mann stand da und sprach die Bitte gegen ihn aus: »Komm nach Mazedonien herüber und hilf uns!«

Y fué mostrada á Pablo de noche una visión: Un varón Macedonio se puso delante, rogándole, y diciendo: Pasa á Macedonia, y ayúdanos.

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

Als er diese Erscheinung gesehen hatte, suchten wir sofort eine Gelegenheit, nach Mazedonien zu gelangen, weil wir aus ihr schlossen, daß Gott uns dazu berufen habe, ihnen die Heilsbotschaft zu verkündigen.

Y como vió la visión, luego procuramos partir á Macedonia, dando por cierto que Dios nos llamaba para que les anunciásemos el evangelio.

And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

So segelten wir denn von Troas ab und fuhren geradeswegs nach Samothrake, am folgenden Tage nach Neapolis

Partidos pues de Troas, vinimos camino derecho á Samotracia, y el día siguiente á Neápolis;

Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;

und von dort nach Philippi, welches die erste Stadt des (dortigen) mazedonischen Bezirks ist, eine römische Kolonie. In dieser Stadt blieben wir einige Tage

Y de allí á Filipos, que es la primera ciudad de la parte de Macedonia, y una colonia; y estuvimos en aquella ciudad algunos días.

And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

and from there to Philippi, which is a city of Macedonia, the foremost of the district, a Roman colony. We were staying some days in this city.

und gingen am Sabbattage zum Stadttor hinaus an den Fluß, wo wir eine (jüdische) Gebetsstätte vermuteten. Wir setzten uns dort nieder und redeten zu den Frauen, die sich da versammelt hatten.

Y un día de sábado salimos de la puerta junto al río, donde solía ser la oración; y sentándonos, hablamos á las mujeres que se habían juntado.

And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

Unter den Zuhörerinnen befand sich auch eine gottesfürchtige Frau namens Lydia, eine Purpurhändlerin aus der Stadt Thyatira (in Lydien); ihr öffnete der Herr das Herz, so daß sie den Worten des Paulus Beachtung schenkte.

Entonces una mujer llamada Lidia, que vendía púrpura en la ciudad de Tiatira, temerosa de Dios, estaba oyendo; el corazón de la cual abrió el Señor para que estuviese atenta á lo que Pablo decía.

And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

Als sie sich dann samt ihren Hausgenossen hatte taufen lassen, sprach sie die Bitte aus: »Wenn ihr wirklich in mir eine treue Jüngerin des Herrn erkannt habt, so kommt in mein Haus und wohnt bei mir!« So nötigte sie uns (zu sich).

Y cuando fué bautizada, y su familia, nos rogó, diciendo: Si habéis juzgado que yo sea fiel al Señor, entrad en mi casa, y posad: y constriñónos.

And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

When she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay.” So she persuaded us.

Als wir nun (eines Tages wieder) auf dem Wege zu der Gebetsstätte waren, begegnete uns eine Magd, die von einem Wahrsagegeist besessen war und ihrer Herrschaft durch ihr Wahrsagen viel Geld einbrachte.

Y aconteció, que yendo nosotros á la oración, una muchacha que tenía espíritu pitónico, nos salió al encuentro, la cual daba grande ganancia á sus amos adivinando.

And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

As we were going to prayer, a certain girl having a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much gain by fortune telling.

Die ging hinter Paulus und uns her und rief laut: »Diese Männer sind Diener des höchsten Gottes, die euch den Weg zur Rettung verkündigen!«

Esta, siguiendo á Pablo y á nosotros, daba voces, diciendo: Estos hombres son siervos del Dios Alto, los cuales os anuncian el camino de salud.

The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

Following Paul and us, she cried out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us a way of salvation!”

Das setzte sie viele Tage hindurch fort. Darüber wurde Paulus unwillig; er wandte sich um und sprach zu dem Geist: »Ich gebiete dir im Namen Jesu Christi, von ihr auszufahren!«, und er fuhr wirklich auf der Stelle aus.

Y esto hacía por muchos días; mas desagradando á Pablo, se volvió y dijo al espíritu: Te mando en el nombre de Jesucristo, que salgas de ella. Y salió en la misma hora.

And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

Als nun die Herrschaft sah, daß es mit ihrer Hoffnung auf Geldgewinn vorbei war, ergriffen sie den Paulus und Silas, schleppten sie auf den Marktplatz vor die Behörde,

Y viendo sus amos que había salido la esperanza de su ganancia, prendieron á Pablo y á Silas, y los trajeron al foro, al magistrado;

And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,

führten sie vor die Stadtrichter und sagten: »Diese Menschen stören die Ruhe in unserer Stadt; sie sind Juden

Y presentándolos á los magistrados, dijeron: Estos hombres, siendo Judíos, alborotan nuestra ciudad,

And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,

und verkünden Gebräuche, die wir als Römer nicht annehmen und ausüben dürfen.«

Y predican ritos, los cuales no nos es lícito recibir ni hacer, pues somos Romanos.

And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.

and advocate customs which it is not lawful for us to accept or to observe, being Romans.”

Da trat die Volksmenge gleichfalls gegen sie auf, und die Stadtrichter ließen ihnen die Kleider vom Leibe reißen und ordneten ihre Auspeitschung an.

Y agolpóse el pueblo contra ellos: y los magistrados rompiéndoles sus ropas, les mandaron azotar con varas.

And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.

Nachdem sie ihnen dann viele Stockschläge hatten verabfolgen lassen, setzten sie sie ins Gefängnis mit der Weisung an den Gefängnisaufseher, er solle sie in sicherem Gewahrsam halten.

Der warf sie auf diesen Befehl hin in die innerste Zelle des Gefängnisses und schloß ihnen die Füße in den Block ein.

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

Da entstand plötzlich ein starkes Erdbeben, so daß die Grundmauern des Gefängnisses erbebten; sofort sprangen sämtliche Türen auf, und allen fielen die Fesseln von selbst ab.

And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

The jailer, being roused out of sleep and seeing the prison doors open, drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped.

Paulus jedoch rief mit lauter Stimme: »Tu dir kein Leid an, denn wir sind alle noch hier!«

Mas Pablo clamó á gran voz, diciendo: No te hagas ningún mal; que todos estamos aquí.

But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

Da rief jener nach Licht, stürzte in die Zelle hinein und warf sich zitternd vor Paulus und Silas nieder;

Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

Sie antworteten: »Glaube an den Herrn Jesus, so wirst du mit deinem Hause gerettet werden.«

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Nun verkündigten sie ihm und allen seinen Hausgenossen das Wort des Herrn.

And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

Als es dann Tag geworden war, schickten die Stadtrichter ihre Gerichtsdiener und ließen sagen: »Laß jene Männer frei!«

Y como fué de día, los magistrados enviaron los alguaciles, diciendo: Deja ir á aquellos hombres.

And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.

Der Gefängnisaufseher teilte dem Paulus diese Botschaft mit: »Die Stadtrichter haben sagen lassen, ihr sollt freigelassen werden; so geht jetzt also hinaus und zieht in Frieden weiter!«

Y el carcelero hizo saber estas palabras á Pablo: Los magistrados han enviado á decir que seáis sueltos: así que ahora salid, é id en paz.

And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.

The jailer reported these words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent to let you go; now therefore come out and go in peace.”

Paulus aber entgegnete ihnen: »Sie haben uns ohne Verhör und Urteil öffentlich auspeitschen lassen, obgleich wir römische Bürger sind, haben uns ins Gefängnis gesetzt und wollen uns jetzt unter der Hand ausweisen? O nein! Sie sollen selbst herkommen und uns hinausgeleiten!«

Entonces Pablo les dijo: Azotados públicamente sin ser condenados, siendo hombres Romanos, nos echaron en la cárcel; y ¿ahora nos echan encubiertamente? No, de cierto, sino vengan ellos y sáquennos.

But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.

But Paul said to them, “They have beaten us publicly without a trial, men who are Romans, and have cast us into prison! Do they now release us secretly? No, most certainly, but let them come themselves and bring us out!”

Die Gerichtsdiener überbrachten diese Antwort den Stadtrichtern. Diese bekamen einen Schrecken, als sie hörten, daß es sich um römische Bürger handle;

Y los alguaciles volvieron á decir á los magistrados estas palabras: y tuvieron miedo, oído que eran Romanos.

And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.

The sergeants reported these words to the magistrates, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Romans,

sie kamen also, entschuldigten sich bei ihnen und führten sie (aus dem Gefängnis) hinaus mit der Bitte, sie möchten die Stadt verlassen.

Y viniendo, les rogaron; y sacándolos, les pidieron que se saliesen de la ciudad.

And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.

and they came and begged them. When they had brought them out, they asked them to depart from the city.

Da gingen sie aus dem Gefängnis hinaus und begaben sich zu Lydia, besuchten dann die Brüder, sprachen ihnen zu und zogen weiter.

Entonces salidos de la cárcel, entraron en casa de Lidia; y habiendo visto á los hermanos, los consolaron, y se salieron.

And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.
