E viajando por Anfípolis e Apolônia, vieram a Tessalônica, onde havia uma sinagoga de judeus.

Y PASANDO por Amphípolis y Apolonia, llegaron á Tesalónica, donde estaba la sinagoga de los Judíos.

Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:

E Paulo, como era de seu costume, entrou a eles, e por três sábados argumentava com eles pelas Escrituras.

Y Pablo, como acostumbraba, entró á ellos, y por tres sábados disputó con ellos de las Escrituras,

And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

Declarando -as ,e propondo -lhes ,que era necessário que o Cristo morresse, e ressuscitasse dos mortos; e que ( dizia ele ) este Jesus é o Cristo, a quem eu vos anuncio.

Declarando y proponiendo, que convenía que el Cristo padeciese, y resucitase de los muertos; y que Jesús, el cual yo os anuncio, decía él, éste era el Cristo.

Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.

explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ.”

E alguns deles creram, e se ajuntaram a Paulo e Silas; e dos gregos devotos grande multidão; e não poucas das mulheres principais.

Y algunos de ellos creyeron, y se juntaron con Pablo y con Silas; y de los Griegos religiosos grande multitud, y mujeres nobles no pocas.

And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.

Some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas: of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and not a few of the chief women.

Mas os judeus incrédulos, movidos de inveja, tomaram consigo alguns homens malignos dos mercados, e juntando uma multidão, tumultuaram a cidade; e atacando a casa de Jasão, procuravam trazê-los ao povo.

Entonces los Judíos que eran incrédulos, teniendo celos, tomaron consigo á algunos ociosos, malos hombres, y juntando compañía, alborotaron la ciudad; y acometiendo á la casa de Jasón, procuraban sacarlos al pueblo.

But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

But the unpersuaded Jews took along some wicked men from the marketplace and gathering a crowd, set the city in an uproar. Assaulting the house of Jason, they sought to bring them out to the people.

E não os achando, puxaram a Jasão, e a alguns irmãos às maiores autoridades da cidade, clamando: Estes que tem perturbado ao mundo também vieram até aqui.

Mas no hallándolos, trajeron á Jasón y á algunos hermanos á los gobernadores de la ciudad, dando voces: Estos que alborotan el mundo, también han venido acá;

And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

When they didn’t find them, they dragged Jason and certain brothers before the rulers of the city, crying, “These who have turned the world upside down have come here also,

Aos quais Jasão tem recolhido, e todos estes fazem contra as ordens de César, dizendo que há outro rei, chamado Jesus.

A los cuales Jasón ha recibido; y todos estos hacen contra los decretos de César, diciendo que hay otro rey, Jesús.

Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Cæsar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.

E eles tumultuaram a multidão, e às autoridades da cidade, que ouviam estas coisas.

Y alborotaron al pueblo y á los gobernadores de la ciudad, oyendo estas cosas.

And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.

The multitude and the rulers of the city were troubled when they heard these things.

Mas tendo recebido fiança de Jasão e dos demais, eles os soltaram.

Mas recibida satisfacción de Jasón y de los demás, los soltaron.

And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go.

E logo os irmãos enviaram de noite a Paulo e a Silas até Bereia; os quais, ao chegarem lá, foram à sinagoga dos judeus.

Entonces los hermanos, luego de noche, enviaron á Pablo y á Silas á Berea; los cuales habiendo llegado, entraron en la sinagoga de los Judíos.

And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Beroea. When they arrived, they went into the Jewish synagogue.

E estes foram mais nobres do que os que estavam em Tessalônica, porque os quais receberam a palavra com toda boa vontade, examinando a cada dia as escrituras, para ver se estas coisas eram assim.

Y fueron éstos más nobles que los que estaban en Tesalónica, pues recibieron la palabra con toda solicitud, escudriñando cada día las Escrituras, si estas cosas eran así.

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Portanto muitos deles realmente creram, e das mulheres gregas honradas; e dos homens, não poucos.

Así que creyeron muchos de ellos; y mujeres Griegas de distinción, y no pocos hombres.

Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

Mas quando os judeus de Tessalônica souberam que também em Bereia a palavra de Deus era anunciada por Paulo, vieram também para lá, e incitaram as multidões.

Mas como entendieron los Judíos de Tesalónica que también en Berea era anunciada la palabra de Dios por Pablo, fueron, y también allí tumultuaron al pueblo.

But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.

But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was proclaimed by Paul at Beroea also, they came there likewise, agitating the multitudes.

Mas então no mesmo instante os irmãos despediram a Paulo, para que fosse ao mar; mas Silas e Timóteo continuaram ali.

Empero luego los hermanos enviaron á Pablo que fuese como á la mar; y Silas y Timoteo se quedaron allí.

And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.

Then the brothers immediately sent out Paul to go as far as to the sea, and Silas and Timothy still stayed there.

E os que conduziram a Paulo, levaram-no até Atenas; e tendo recebido ordem para Silas e Timóteo, para que viessem a ele o mais rápido que pudessem ,eles foram embora.

Y los que habían tomado á cargo á Pablo, le llevaron hasta Atenas; y tomando encargo para Silas y Timoteo, que viniesen á él lo más presto que pudiesen, partieron.

And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.

But those who escorted Paul brought him as far as Athens. Receiving a commandment to Silas and Timothy that they should come to him very quickly, they departed.

E enquanto Paulo os esperava em Atenas, seu espírito se incomodava dentro dele, ao ver a cidade tão dedicada à idolatria.

Y esperándolos Pablo en Atenas, su espíritu se deshacía en él viendo la ciudad dada á idolatría.

Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he saw the city full of idols.

Então ele disputava muito na sinagoga, com os judeus, e com os religiosos; e no mercado a cada dia, com os que vinham até ele .

Así que, disputaba en la sinagoga con los Judíos y religiosos; y en la plaza cada día con los que le ocurrían.

Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.

So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with those who met him.

E alguns dos filósofos epicureus e estoicos discutiam com ele; e uns diziam: O que quer dizer este tagarela?E outros: Parece que ele é pregador de deuses estranhos.Porque ele lhes anunciava o Evangelho de Jesus e a ressurreição.

Y algunos filósofos de los Epicúreos y de los Estóicos, disputaban con él; y unos decían: ¿Qué quiere decir este palabrero? Y otros: Parece que es predicador de nuevos dioses: porque les predicaba á Jesús y la resurrección.

Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.

Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also were conversing with him. Some said, “What does this babbler want to say?” Others said, “He seems to be advocating foreign deities,” because he preached Jesus and the resurrection.

E tomando-o, trouxeram -no ao areópago, dizendo: Podemos nós saber que doutrina nova é esta que tu falas?

Y tomándole, le trajeron al Areópago, diciendo: ¿Podremos saber qué sea esta nueva doctrina que dices?

And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?

They took hold of him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “May we know what this new teaching is, which you are speaking about?

Porque tu trazes coisas estranhas aos nossos ouvidos; então queremos saber o que isto quer dizer.

Porque pones en nuestros oídos unas nuevas cosas: queremos pues saber qué quiere ser esto.

For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

For you bring certain strange things to our ears. We want to know therefore what these things mean.”

(E todos os atenienses e visitantes estrangeiros não se ocupavam de nenhuma outra coisa, a não ser em dizer e ouvir alguma novidade).

(Entonces todos los Atenienses y los huéspedes extranjeros, en ninguna otra cosa entendían, sino ó en decir ó en oir alguna cosa nueva.)

(For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)

E Paulo, estando no meio do areópago, disse: Homens atenienses, eu vejo em tudo como vós sois muito religiosos;

Estando pues Pablo en medio del Areópago, dijo: Varones Atenienses, en todo os veo como más supersticiosos;

Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

Paul stood in the middle of the Areopagus and said, “You men of Athens, I perceive that you are very religious in all things.

Porque enquanto eu passava pela cidade e via vossos santuários, achei também um altar, em que estava escrito: AO DEUS DESCONHECIDO. Este a quem vós prestais devoção sem conhecer, este é o que eu vos anuncio;

Porque pasando y mirando vuestros santuarios, hallé también un altar en el cual estaba esta inscripción: AL DIOS NO CONOCIDO. Aquél pues, que vosotros honráis sin conocerle, á éste os anuncio yo.

For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription: ‘TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.’ What therefore you worship in ignorance, I announce to you.

O Deus que fez o mundo, e todas as coisas que nele há ; este, sendo Senhor do céu e da terra, não habita em tempos feitos por mãos.

El Dios que hizo el mundo y todas las cosas que en él hay, éste, como sea Señor del cielo y de la tierra, no habita en templos hechos de manos,

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, doesn’t dwell in temples made with hands.

E nem também é servido por mãos humanas; como que necessitasse de alguma coisa; porque ele é que dá a todos vida, respiração, e todas as coisas;

Ni es honrado con manos de hombres, necesitado de algo; pues él da á todos vida, y respiración, y todas las cosas;

Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

He isn’t served by men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself gives to all life and breath and all things.

E de um sangue ele fez toda nação humana, para habitarem sobre a face da terra, determinando os tempos desde antes ordenados, e o limites da morada deles ;

Y de una sangre ha hecho todo el linaje de los hombres, para que habitasen sobre toda la faz de la tierra; y les ha prefijado el orden de los tiempos, y los términos de la habitación de ellos;

And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons and the boundaries of their dwellings,

Para que buscassem ao Senhor, se talvez pudessem apalpá-lo e encontrá-lo,apesar dele não estar longe de cada um de nós.

Para que buscasen á Dios, si en alguna manera, palpando, le hallen; aunque cierto no está lejos de cada uno de nosotros:

That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

that they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

Porque nele vivemos, e nos movemos, e somos; assim como também alguns de vossos poetas disseram; porque também nós somos descendência dele.

Porque en él vivimos, y nos movemos, y somos; como también algunos de vuestros poetas dijeron: Porque linaje de éste somos también.

For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

‘For in him we live, move, and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also his offspring.’

Sendo então descendência de Deus, nós não devemos pensar que a divindade seja semelhante a ouro, ou a prata, ou a pedra esculpida por artifício e imaginação humana.

Siendo pues linaje de Dios, no hemos de estimar la Divinidad ser semejante á oro, ó á plata, ó á piedra, escultura de artificio ó de imaginación de hombres.

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.

Being then the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold, or silver, or stone, engraved by art and design of man.

Portanto Deus, tendo desconsiderado os tempos da vossa ignorância, agora anuncia a todos as pessoas, em todo lugar, para que se arrependam.

Empero Dios, habiendo disimulado los tiempos de esta ignorancia, ahora denuncia á todos los hombres en todos los lugares que se arrepientan:

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked. But now he commands that all people everywhere should repent,

Porque ele tem estabelecido um dia em que ele julgará ao mundo em justiça por meio do homem a quem determinou; dando certeza a todos, tendo o ressuscitado dos mortos.

Por cuanto ha establecido un día, en el cual ha de juzgar al mundo con justicia, por aquel varón al cual determinó; dando fe á todos con haberle levantado de los muertos.

Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

because he has appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he has ordained; of which he has given assurance to all men, in that he has raised him from the dead.”

E ao ouvirem da ressurreição dos mortos, alguns zombavam; e outros diziam: Nós ouviremos sobre isto de ti na próxima vez.

Y así como oyeron de la resurrección de los muertos, unos se burlaban, y otros decían: Te oiremos acerca de esto otra vez.

And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.

Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked; but others said, “We want to hear you again concerning this.”

E assim Paulo saiu do meio deles.

Y así Pablo se salió de en medio de ellos.

So Paul departed from among them.

Porém, tendo chegado alguns homens até ele, creram; entre os quais estava também Dionísio o areopagita, e uma mulher de nome Dâmaris, e outros com eles.

Mas algunos creyeron, juntándose con él; entre los cuales también fué Dionisio el del Areópago, y una mujer llamada Dámaris, y otros con ellos.

Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

But certain men joined with him and believed, including Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.
