ED essendo passati per Anfipoli, e per Apollonia, vennero in Tessalonica, dove era la sinagoga de' Giudei;

Y PASANDO por Amphípolis y Apolonia, llegaron á Tesalónica, donde estaba la sinagoga de los Judíos.

Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:

e Paolo, secondo la sua usanza, entrò da loro; e per tre sabati tenne loro ragionamenti tratti dalle scritture,

And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.

explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ.”

Ed alcuni di loro credettero, e si aggiunsero con Paolo e Sila; come anche gran numero di Greci religiosi, e delle donne principali non poche.

Y algunos de ellos creyeron, y se juntaron con Pablo y con Silas; y de los Griegos religiosos grande multitud, y mujeres nobles no pocas.

And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.

Ma i Giudei, ch'erano increduli, mossi d'invidia, preser con loro certi uomini malvagi della gente di piazza; e, raccolta una turba, commossero a tumulto la città; ed avendo assalita la casa di Giasone, cercavano di trarli fuori al popolo.

Entonces los Judíos que eran incrédulos, teniendo celos, tomaron consigo á algunos ociosos, malos hombres, y juntando compañía, alborotaron la ciudad; y acometiendo á la casa de Jasón, procuraban sacarlos al pueblo.

But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

But the unpersuaded Jews took along some wicked men from the marketplace and gathering a crowd, set the city in an uproar. Assaulting the house of Jason, they sought to bring them out to the people.

Ma, non avendoli trovati, trassero Giasone, ed alcuni de' fratelli, a' rettori della città, gridando: Costoro che hanno messo sottosopra il mondo sono eziandio venuti qua.

Mas no hallándolos, trajeron á Jasón y á algunos hermanos á los gobernadores de la ciudad, dando voces: Estos que alborotan el mundo, también han venido acá;

And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

When they didn’t find them, they dragged Jason and certain brothers before the rulers of the city, crying, “These who have turned the world upside down have come here also,

E Giasone li ha raccolti; ed essi tutti fanno contro agli statuti di Cesare, dicendo esservi un altro re, cioè Gesù.

A los cuales Jasón ha recibido; y todos estos hacen contra los decretos de César, diciendo que hay otro rey, Jesús.

Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Cæsar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.

E commossero il popolo, e i rettori della città, che udivano queste cose.

Y alborotaron al pueblo y á los gobernadores de la ciudad, oyendo estas cosas.

Ma pure essi, ricevuta cauzione da Giasone e dagli altri, li lasciarono andare.

E i fratelli subito di notte mandarono via Paolo e Sila, in Berrea; ed essi, essendovi giunti, andarono nella sinagoga de' Giudei.

Entonces los hermanos, luego de noche, enviaron á Pablo y á Silas á Berea; los cuales habiendo llegado, entraron en la sinagoga de los Judíos.

And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Beroea. When they arrived, they went into the Jewish synagogue.

Or costoro furon più generosi che gli altri ch' erano in Tessalonica; e con ogni prontezza ricevettero la parola, esaminando tuttodì le scritture, per vedere se queste cose stavano così.

Y fueron éstos más nobles que los que estaban en Tesalónica, pues recibieron la palabra con toda solicitud, escudriñando cada día las Escrituras, si estas cosas eran así.

Ma, quando i Giudei di Tessalonica ebbero inteso che la parola di Dio era da Paolo stata annunziata eziandio in Berrea, vennero anche là, commovendo le turbe.

Mas como entendieron los Judíos de Tesalónica que también en Berea era anunciada la palabra de Dios por Pablo, fueron, y también allí tumultuaron al pueblo.

But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.

But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was proclaimed by Paul at Beroea also, they came there likewise, agitating the multitudes.

Ma allora i fratelli mandarono prontamente fuori Paolo, acciocchè se ne andasse, facendo vista di andare al mare; e Sila, e Timoteo rimasero quivi.

Empero luego los hermanos enviaron á Pablo que fuese como á la mar; y Silas y Timoteo se quedaron allí.

And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.

Then the brothers immediately sent out Paul to go as far as to the sea, and Silas and Timothy still stayed there.

E COLORO che aveano la cura di por Paolo in salvo, lo condussero sino in Atene; e, ricevuta da lui commission di dire a Sila, ed a Timoteo, che quanto prima venissero a lui, si partirono.

Y los que habían tomado á cargo á Pablo, le llevaron hasta Atenas; y tomando encargo para Silas y Timoteo, que viniesen á él lo más presto que pudiesen, partieron.

And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.

But those who escorted Paul brought him as far as Athens. Receiving a commandment to Silas and Timothy that they should come to him very quickly, they departed.

Ora, mentre Paolo li aspettava in Atene, lo spirito suo s'inacerbiva in lui, veggendo la città piena d'idoli.

Y esperándolos Pablo en Atenas, su espíritu se deshacía en él viendo la ciudad dada á idolatría.

Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

Egli adunque ragionava nella sinagoga coi Giudei, e con le persone religiose, ed ogni dì in su la piazza con coloro che si scontravano.

Así que, disputaba en la sinagoga con los Judíos y religiosos; y en la plaza cada día con los que le ocurrían.

Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.

So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with those who met him.

Ed alcuni de' filosofi Epicurei, e Stoici, conferivan con lui. Ed alcuni dicevano: Che vuol dire questo cianciatore? E gli altri: Egli pare essere annunziatore di dii stranieri; perciocchè egli evangelizzava loro Gesù, e la risurrezione.

Y algunos filósofos de los Epicúreos y de los Estóicos, disputaban con él; y unos decían: ¿Qué quiere decir este palabrero? Y otros: Parece que es predicador de nuevos dioses: porque les predicaba á Jesús y la resurrección.

Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.

Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also were conversing with him. Some said, “What does this babbler want to say?” Others said, “He seems to be advocating foreign deities,” because he preached Jesus and the resurrection.

E lo presero, e lo menarono nell'Areopago, dicendo: Potrem noi sapere qual sia questa nuova dottrina, la qual tu proponi?

Y tomándole, le trajeron al Areópago, diciendo: ¿Podremos saber qué sea esta nueva doctrina que dices?

And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?

They took hold of him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “May we know what this new teaching is, which you are speaking about?

Perciocchè tu ci rechi agli orecchi cose strane; noi vogliamo dunque sapere che cosa si vogliano coteste cose.

Porque pones en nuestros oídos unas nuevas cosas: queremos pues saber qué quiere ser esto.

For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

For you bring certain strange things to our ears. We want to know therefore what these things mean.”

Or tutti gli Ateniesi, e i forestieri che dimoravano in quella città, non passavano il tempo ad altro, che a dire, o ad udire alcuna cosa di nuovo.

(Entonces todos los Atenienses y los huéspedes extranjeros, en ninguna otra cosa entendían, sino ó en decir ó en oir alguna cosa nueva.)

(For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)

E Paolo, stando in piè in mezzo dell'Areopago, disse: Uomini Ateniesi, io vi veggo quasi troppo religiosi in ogni cosa.

Estando pues Pablo en medio del Areópago, dijo: Varones Atenienses, en todo os veo como más supersticiosos;

Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

Paul stood in the middle of the Areopagus and said, “You men of Athens, I perceive that you are very religious in all things.

Perciocchè, passando, e considerando le vostre deità, ho trovato eziandio un altare, sopra il quale era scritto: ALL'IDDIO SCONOSCIUTO. Quello adunque il qual voi servite, senza conoscerlo, io ve l'annunzio.

Porque pasando y mirando vuestros santuarios, hallé también un altar en el cual estaba esta inscripción: AL DIOS NO CONOCIDO. Aquél pues, que vosotros honráis sin conocerle, á éste os anuncio yo.

For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription: ‘TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.’ What therefore you worship in ignorance, I announce to you.

L'Iddio che ha fatto il mondo, e tutte le cose che sono in esso, essendo Signore del cielo e della terra, non abita in tempii fatti d'opera di mani.

El Dios que hizo el mundo y todas las cosas que en él hay, éste, como sea Señor del cielo y de la tierra, no habita en templos hechos de manos,

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, doesn’t dwell in temples made with hands.

E non è servito per mani d'uomini, come avendo bisogno d'alcuna cosa; egli che dà a tutti e la vita, e il fiato, ed ogni cosa.

Ni es honrado con manos de hombres, necesitado de algo; pues él da á todos vida, y respiración, y todas las cosas;

Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

He isn’t served by men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself gives to all life and breath and all things.

Ed ha fatto d'un medesimo sangue tutta la generazion degli uomini, per abitar sopra tutta la faccia della terra, avendo determinati i tempi prefissi, ed i confini della loro abitazione;

Y de una sangre ha hecho todo el linaje de los hombres, para que habitasen sobre toda la faz de la tierra; y les ha prefijado el orden de los tiempos, y los términos de la habitación de ellos;

And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons and the boundaries of their dwellings,

acciocchè cerchino il Signore, se pur talora potessero, come a tastone, trovarlo: benchè egli non sia lungi da ciascun di noi.

Para que buscasen á Dios, si en alguna manera, palpando, le hallen; aunque cierto no está lejos de cada uno de nosotros:

That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

that they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

Poichè in lui viviamo, e ci moviamo, e siamo; siccome ancora alcuni de' vostri poeti hanno detto: Perciocchè noi siamo eziandio sua progenie.

Porque en él vivimos, y nos movemos, y somos; como también algunos de vuestros poetas dijeron: Porque linaje de éste somos también.

For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

‘For in him we live, move, and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also his offspring.’

Essendo noi adunque progenie di Dio, non dobbiamo stimar che la Deità sia simigliante ad oro, o ad argento, od a pietra; a scoltura d'arte, e d'invenzione umana.

Siendo pues linaje de Dios, no hemos de estimar la Divinidad ser semejante á oro, ó á plata, ó á piedra, escultura de artificio ó de imaginación de hombres.

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.

Being then the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold, or silver, or stone, engraved by art and design of man.

Avendo Iddio adunque dissimulati i tempi dell'ignoranza, al presente dinunzia per tutto a tutti gli uomini che si ravveggano.

Empero Dios, habiendo disimulado los tiempos de esta ignorancia, ahora denuncia á todos los hombres en todos los lugares que se arrepientan:

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked. But now he commands that all people everywhere should repent,

Perciocchè egli ha ordinato un giorno, nel quale egli giudicherà il mondo in giustizia, per quell'uomo, il quale egli ha stabilito; di che ha fatta fede a tutti, avendolo suscitato da' morti.

Por cuanto ha establecido un día, en el cual ha de juzgar al mundo con justicia, por aquel varón al cual determinó; dando fe á todos con haberle levantado de los muertos.

Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

because he has appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he has ordained; of which he has given assurance to all men, in that he has raised him from the dead.”

Quando udirono mentovar la risurrezion de' morti, altri se ne facevano beffe, altri dicevano: Noi ti udiremo un'altra volta intorno a ciò.

Y así como oyeron de la resurrección de los muertos, unos se burlaban, y otros decían: Te oiremos acerca de esto otra vez.

And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.

E così Paolo uscì del mezzo di loro.

Y así Pablo se salió de en medio de ellos.

Ed alcuni si aggiunsero con lui, e credettero; fra i quali fu anche Dionigio l'Areopagita, ed una donna chiamata per nome Damaris, ed altri con loro.

Mas algunos creyeron, juntándose con él; entre los cuales también fué Dionisio el del Areópago, y una mujer llamada Dámaris, y otros con ellos.

Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.
